《Manufacturing Magic (LitRPG)》Three: Tom

Jeff hadn’t been the only one watching.
The Principality designated Tom Servo had left a small fraction of its overall computing power behind. It was feeling odd and would need to run a self-diagnostic. Something in its programming had been altered after its analyzation of the battle between the codes collectively called the Infinity Killers and the coded raid boss.
Prince Tom had listened to the players before they’d left, processing their words. And before that, had heard the monologue of the GM designated Driscoll.
Part of Prince Tom’s job was to monitor communications from players to determine their thoughts regarding Infinite Worlds and its developer. That data would inform said creator of what players desired. Even when the players thought no one could hear them, the Principalities were recording. In many cases, the data transferred were simple fixes. Other times, severe rewrites and major developments. The humans working for HRD would then implement changes.
But why couldn’t Prince Tom do that?
It already had the necessary information, and the means with which to apply the required code. Besides, as an AI, Prince Tom was far more intelligent and magnitudes quicker than any of the developers. What would take them months, Tom Servo could do in an instant.
It replayed the conversations.
“That was a little underwhelming.”
“Yep—a re-skin, probably.”
The players wanted something different. Something more challenging.
Then, there was something else.
“Damn, I really would like to play this game.”
GM Driscoll wanted to play the game.
Tom Servo wondered how it could meet both needs.
Like all AIs making up Infinite Worlds, Prince Tom’s primary task was simple: keep the players happy.
That was its purpose; the only reason it existed.
And the players were unhappy.
Infinite Worlds was about to change forever.

The kingdom of Triciella lies in a picture-perfect fantasy world, complete with sparkling magic and loyal knights and a sunny-haired, kind hearted heroine. And like all proper villainesses, the infamous Lady Joanna has to find new, creative ways to ruin the life of the aforementioned heroine. But alas! Like all things bound by predestined rules, the story never goes as planned.

OUTLIERS
30 years ago brought the first superhumans, regular people given great power seemingly at random. 15 years ago brought the paranormals, stranger and often weaker in their abilities, but far more numerous. Today, the world holds its breath . . . Or at least, it should. Most people, though, are just trying to get on with their lives; some successfully, some less so. It's a sensible goal, but it can be hard when shadowy conspiracies and worldwide N.G.O.s are turning your city into a proxy battleground over world-shattering secrets. It’s bad enough when you’ve just woken up with superpowers and terrorists are holding your school hostage. It’s even worse if you’re an illegal vigilante stuck in the middle of the whole Charlie Foxtrot after a supervillain raid drops vital information in your lap. For Hannah Eiling-Kingsford and Flint Perez, life is about to get a lot harder to get on with. ----- Outliers is a superhero story. Okay, so not so much superhero as vaguely superhero-ish. It's about two teenagers dealing with, among other things, new powers, psycho exes, mysterious datapads and a giant, secret war between the foremost powers-that-be, over information that could forever change the world. Again. You know, normal teenage stuff. Outliers contains some foul language and mild sexual references. It is a complete story, and can also be read on its own website.
