“Though you probably know about it, the truth is that you two were involved in a dispute against a very powerful clan.” Said the old man with a serious expression. “This clan, the Crow family, is one of the local clans in the Lion Empire, and their overall power is only below the royal family.

“Apparently, the one responsible for the attack was the young master sent by the family to be in charge of the search for the supreme emptiness flame. From what I know, the reason because he ordered the attack was mainly because he had various disputes with you.”

Aiden nodded hearing it.

“The thing is, though I was able to make use of their attack to suppress the family’s standing in the city, it’s impossible for me to kill their members. “I understand.” Nodded Aiden seriously.

Seeing that Aiden took his words seriously, the old man assented in his mind and continued speaking. After all, there were more issues to discuss.

“On the other hand, the matter with the youth of the Noah clan… Though I had been able to hide his dead, it’s impossible to do it permanently. Aiden looked towards the old man when he heard that someone from his clan would reach soon to the town. After hesitating for a bit, he decided to ask.

“… Do you know who was sent by the clan to the town?”

The old man looked towards Aiden silently and replied. “I’m not sure about the elders, but I heard that the young miss from the clan was the representative.”

“… So it is Sia huh…”

Calming his thoughts, Aiden smiled reassuringly towards Lia once more before turning towards the old man.

“Me and Lia will be leaving the town tomorrow. I think my injuries are almost completely recovered and like you said, it’s better if we leave the town as soon as possible.”

Seeing Lia nodding behind Aiden, the old man agreed immediately and promised his help. “I already ordered for your things to be brought from your house. You can ask the servants for them. However, there is something else you must to do before parting from the town.”

“… What do you mean?” Asked Aiden after failing to find a reason.

Sighing silently, the old man signaled towards Aiden chest and spoke slowly.

“Had you forgotten? You broke through core-fusing that night…”

Instantly, an expression of astonishment appeared in Aiden’s face.

Yes, how could he forget…

That night, he used his saber manifestation as a medium to break through core-fusing.

Perhaps because of the situation when he woke up, Aiden had ignored completely the fact that he finally broke through the limitations he had for four years. Or perhaps, because the situation was too incredible, Aiden decided to ignore it unconsciously.

But now that the old man mentioned it, realization hit Aiden.

Seeing the astonished expression in Aiden’s face, the old man seemed understand his feelings. And at the same time, Lia giggled happily.

“Felm?” Asked Aiden.

“The old man in Heavens’ Secret.” Answered the old man with a wave of his hand. “That is his name.”

For a moment, a worried expression appeared in Aiden face.

The old man smiled slightly after seeing it. With a smile, he said: “Don’t worry. Though he is a bit eccentric, that old man is someone that I trust.”

Hearing it, Aiden sighed in relief.

“However,” Continued Old Brake. “It didn’t change that you will find it difficult to hide your lack of spirit; mainly from stronger cultivators. Because of it, I prepared a few things for you. You can consider it like a compensation of sorts…”

Saying it, the old man opened a drawer and took two things from there. Two different rings. One black and one red.

The old man noticed Aiden’s expression. Sighing, he motioned for Aiden to leave and said in a depressed tone.

“As I said, you can consider them like the compensation for the problems of that night. With it, there is nothing more between us…”

When Aiden heard it, he sighed deeply inside his heart. But at the end, he left the place.

Once Aiden and Lia left the place, a shadow appeared in a corner of the office.

Looking towards the old man seated in the reclined chair, the shadow spoke.

“Why you lied to the boy, old man?”

With a distressed expression, old Brake spoke: “… Sigh. That boy future will be filled with perils and difficulties. I don’t want to make it harder for associating him with me… It’s better if our relation is cut from now…”

The shadow kept silent when he heard his friend’s words. Then, with a sigh, he simply left the place. Behind him, a few words resounded in place.

“I don’t think it’s the right choice, old man… The boy had the right to decide for himself…”
