Chapter 46 – Two Souls

Returning to when Aiden just left the house.

From the moment when Aiden left, Lia had been awfully quiet.

She had remained seated for a long time, lost in her thoughts. Her beautiful white hair covered her face well enough to hide the red tint slowly invading her eyes.

Unfortunately, there was nobody nearby able of detecting the dilemma she was currently facing.

‘Are you really certain of it?’ Whispered a cheerful voice inside her head, sounding like another her.

“Shut up.” Said Lia softly, her voice not strong enough to truly scare the entity speaking in her mind.

‘But at this rate, I fear he will leave you, me.’

“Shut up!” Answered Lia, this time with more strength than before. “He will not do it!”

‘Are you sure? Why he rejected you then?’ Said the voice mockingly.

This time, Lia was unable of giving an answer.

It wasn’t the first time that Lia heard this voice, so she wasn’t too surprised when the voice appeared in her mind after Aiden left. Of course, though she wasn’t very surprised, neither was the surprise insignificant. After all, it had been long from the last time the voice appeared.

Lia had even thought that the voice disappeared forever after not hearing it in almost a year, though for some reason, she had the presentment that it would be back.

And her presentment was right.

Tonight, the voice appeared again.

And this time, it was even clearer than before.

Back then, the voice was only able of at most bothering her, whispering enticements to confuse her mind, only appearing for a few minutes each day.

But this time, not only had the voice appeared for more than two hours already, but it was even maintaining a conversation with her.

Lia wasn’t sure about the true identity of the voice, but she suspected that it was related with the soul inserted inside her.

After all, the first time when the voice appeared, was not long after the experiment of fusing two souls was realized.

‘I think he will end leaving you, me.’ Said the voice, laughing mischievously.

“Shut up!” Cried Lia. “Aiden will not abandon me!”

‘And why are you so sure?’

“B-Because…”

‘See? That boy didn’t have any reason to stay with you. After all, you already lost all your usefulness.’ Laughed the voice after seeing Lia unable of answering.

‘Why should he stay with you? He is no more than a failure, and you? You are a monster!”

“SHUP UP!”

‘Hahaha, is it not true? You yourself know that you are a monster! Is it not the reason because you never said him anything about me? Because you didn’t want him to consider you a monster!? Pitiful child! It is no more than a pipe dream!’

“You…” This time, Lia could only to bite her lips.

‘You are a monster and he a human! How can it to be truly possible for you two to stay together!? Foolish!

It was true. There are a few things that Lia never said to Aiden, and one of them was the existence of the voice.

It was because like the voice said, Lia thought of herselfThe voice like a ‘monster’.

Lia feared the reaction of Aiden after hearing about it.

She was afraid of Aiden abandoning her.

For Lia, Aiden could be considered more than her only family. For her, Aiden was practically her entire world. It reached at the point where even herself thought of it like something strange.

But she didn’t care about it. She only wanted to be with him.

To be sincere, Aiden underestimated the level of devotion that Lia felt for him. Though he knew that Lia was in love with him, he simply thought of it like simply “love”.

But reality was different. Lia feelings had surpassed by far the level of a simple love. It already could be considered an obsession.

And though she normally didn’t show it, it was already impossible for her to be away from him.

Precisely because of it, the words of the voice hurt her so much.

Why should Aiden remain besides her? She didn’t have anything more to offer him.

Until now, Aiden was with her because the ritual, but now that the ritual failed, what was stopping Aiden of leaving her?

After all, it was impossible for someone to love a monster, right?

‘Hahaha, now you understand, little girl! Yes, why should he to stay with you? Were you not rejected yesterday for him? It was because he was planning to leave when you lose your usefulness!’

‘We are a monster, me! Love is unnecessary for us!’

“shut up.”

‘I didn’t understand your attachment to him, me. He is no more than a human! A failure!’

“shut up.”

‘It’s better if we simply leave, me! What is so important about that human anyway?’

“I SAID SHUT UP!”

For a moment, the voice in Lia’s mind fell silent.

“I will not leave him!”

The voice of Lia, that was almost silent until now, increased suddenly.

“I will always be with him!”

Her energy, which had been quiet until now, filled the place completely.

“Even if he doesn’t love me anymore!”

The two shadows, hidden in the surroundings of the house, felt a pressure invading their minds.

“Even if he leaves me behind!”

The threads, wrapped around her body, began to move restlessly.

“I will be with him!”

The voice, hidden in her mind, smiled mischievously.

“Even if I have to tie his body to mine!”

And killing intent descended.

‘Hahahaha.’ Laughed the voice. ‘Such interesting answer!’

‘But you know, the world is not so simple’

For a moment, the second soul felt pity for her.

‘We are children of fate.’ Said the voice. ‘Someday you will understand that it’s impossible for us to live like humans’

‘So, go my sister!’ Commanded the voice.

‘Fight!’

Was said.

‘Rage!’

Was heard.

‘Kill!’

Was ordered.

‘And when you see the fear in his eyes when looking to you…’

… I will help you to destroy everything!

“Shut up.” Said Lia.

Standing from her seat, she walked towards the entrance of the house.

“I don’t mind what he thinks about me. I only want to be at his side.”

Her eyes became completely red.

“And if one day he truly hates me…”

I don’t mind dying together with him.

“But for now.” Said her. “I have to clean the insects bothering my young master.”

Then, with multiple colors appearing in her hair, she stepped outside.

While the crazy laughs of a girl resounded in her mind.
