Chapter 33 – Blades vs Threads (I)
Two men were together inside an alley of the town of Cali.
Both of them emitted a strong impression, and their auras were enough to scare normal humans away.
One of them was a tall and brawny man with a sword tied in his back, while the other was a skinny man with a sly appearance. Both were, a bit older than thirty years, middle-aged men, but their faces radiate vigor that people even younger, lack.
Currently they were discussing something with subdued tones, afraid of someone else hearing their conversation. Their faces were full of expectation and excitement.
“Are you sure, second brother?” Asked the tall and brawny man, looking towards the sly guy besides him.
“Yes, I’m sure. It was definitively a spatial pouch. Though I wasn’t sure the first time, after seeing it again I’m confident in my judgement.”
“Then we struck rich this time!”
Hearing the answer of the skinny guy, the taller man could not hide the excitement in his heart. After all, a spatial pouch is a rare artifact that many weaker cultivators are unable of seeing in their lives.
The two men currently talking were a not-so-well known duo of loose cultivators that constantly act in the surroundings of the town. Though few people knew about them, the ones what did were very afraid. After all, they continually rob and rape unprepared travelers unfortunate enough to be found by them.
The reason because they aren’t well known is because despite their crimes, they are careful enough to no allow someone to escape every time they attack. And the few times they were unable of avoid it, they went in hiding for a time before leaving the place for good.
The two of them met more than ten years ago, and unexpectedly for people in their profession, they hit very well from the beginning and became sworn brothers almost immediately. From then, they have been lurking around in search of resources and a bit of fun occasionally.

Though both were cultivators, the truth was that the pair haven’t any kind of future in that path. After all, even after being thirty years old they were unable of going beyond the core-fusing realm and were stranded in the late stage of the same. Perhaps they haven’t any hopes of breaking through the spirit awakening stage in their lives.
And though simply for being able of cultivate to the core-fusing realm was enough to get a good job in any mortal country, the nature of the pair made impossible for them remain a long time without causing a crime and thus, get an honorable job.
“Tell me, Sly, where is the girl?” Asked the brawny guy.
“Be patient. She comes to the marketplace everyday around this time.” The skinny guy, Sly, answered looking from the ally towards the marketplace with attention.
A few minutes passed without the girl appearing, making the brawny guy almost begin to fret, but fortunately, before him became too impatient, Sly pointed towards the market.
“Look, Mul! It’s her!”
The brawny man turned his head following the finger of his skinny companion. Then, a very beautiful girl entered his sight.
Mul was immediately enchanted for the girl’s imagen. Before him, a warm and smiling beautiful goddess appeared walking. She had a very beautiful pair of emerald green eyes that combined perfectly with her dark green dress. In her feet, a pair of simple sandals were covering until her jade-like calf. Her hair, of a pure white color, danced softly with the movement of the wind.
She had a kind of simple beauty different from normal. And though she could not be defined like stunning, almost nobody was able of look away after seeing her for first time.
Mul was stunned for a few seconds before the sight, and if not being for his companion hitting him in the back of his head, he perhaps would have been stunned for an even longer time.
Making an embarrassed expression for being lost in the moment, Mul looked towards Sly only to see him nodding in understating, apparently having experienced the same before.

Concentrating again in their goal, the pair followed the movements of the girl through the market. She was currently buying different groceries with a warm smile while the merchants and sellers answered with an equally positive expression, apparently happy of seeing the girl around.
After a time, the pair was able of confirm a pouch hanging form the waist of the girl. After observing it for a time, Mul certainly recognized it like a spatial pouch.
Nevertheless, instead of making an excited expression, Mul frowned hard after finding it.
“Are you sure she is not someone with background Sly? You can see her cultivation. Though she is not at the core-fusing realm, she is only half-step from it. For someone reach at such step in her age is very difficult without the resources of a clan.”
“Don’t worry.” Answered his skinnier companion. “Though the current border city of Cali is full of hidden tigers and crouching dragons, I carefully studied the girl after seeing her.
“Though she had a spatial pouch and a pretty good cultivation, you can see that her clothes are not very outstanding. She is using a normal dress without any enchantments; something impossible if she belongs to some force. Not just it, have you seen how the locals treat her? Judging from their attitudes, she is a local girl they know from before. I think she was probably lucky enough to find the pouch with some treasures and advance to her current realm.”
Hearing his companion deduction, the brawny Mul nodded convinced. After all, the two had been working together for a long time and he knows well about Sly’s intelligence.
“Then, when you think we must attack, second brother?”
After thinking for a moment, Sly responded.
“Though the town guards are not enough to cause us troubles, the town hall possesses a few powerful enough cultivators to subjugate us easily. Luckily, they are unable of paying us attention with the current situation of the town. With the many different forces in the town, conflicts are happening every day and they are unable of paying attention at every incident. I think that if we followed her until her house and attacked there, we are strong enough to subjugate her without much of a commotion, enough to not attract the guards.”
Hearing his companion words, Mul made a lascivious smile thinking about having such a beautiful girl under his pants.
Seeing the expression of his companion, Sly smiled in understating and laughed with him before indicating for them to follow the girl.
The pair observed the girl going around the market for about one hour. When them were finally becoming impatient, the girl finally ended her shopping spree and left the market while waving farewell at many on the merchants.
Following the girl silently, Mul and Sly were careful about not revealing something to avoid alerting her. However, when they were in the middle of a street, the girl suddenly stopped and turned towards them.
“I thought it was a coincidence when I was in the marketplace, but I can feel your disgusting gazes even now. Why you two don’t get out now!?”
Hearing the words of the girl, the pair was incredibly surprised and hesitated slightly. The girl seeing it, sighed upset before putting the bag with the things she bought on the ground and raising her hands.
“Very well, if you will not get out, then allow me to help you!”
After hearing her voice, the pair saw thousands of very small threads appearing around them and attacking a great speed.
Impossible! How was her able of put the threads here without us noticing!
Surprised and scared due the attack, the pair jumped from their hideout and looked the girl.
In that moment, they could have sworn that the girl’s green eyes had a tint of blood red.
