《Steaming City Of The Holy Inquisition》Volume 2. Chapter 26

For the first time in many years, Thomas went to the training ground for combat inquisitors. He chose five people, the strongest, in his opinion, and said:
"Attack me."
They looked at each other, and Thomas did not waste any time and started first:
"Molten steel (rank 3)."
The ground changed from a solid form to a liquid one, and the inquisitors' feet got bogged down in a metovis quagmire, they tried to get out on their own, and Thomas looked at them and got more and more angry.
"Use metovis, fucking idiots, or I'll kill you all!"
"Gravity jump! (Rank 1)"
The inquisitors jumped out in different directions and stood around Thomas. After they used several of the weakest spells, which Thomas easily dodged.
"Spikes of Justice (Rank 5)"
Spheres of liquid red-hot steel appeared above the heads of the inquisitors, changed their shape and shot thorns into them. Not everyone had time to realize what had happened and three fell to the ground with severe wounds, the remaining two people dodged. One managed to absorb the spell with the help of the "antimetovis" element, the second used the "Hydraulic Splitting" spell and his body became completely water, protecting him from any physical attack. So he thought until the moment when a smiling mask appeared a few centimeters away from him. From fright, he hesitated and received the seal of the stone, which returned his body to a solid state, and then Thomas beat him like a child. The second one just stood and watched it until he himself fell into a trap and lost his leg, which was cut off by an axe that appeared out of nowhere.
As soon as the battle was over, metentises of light ran up and put all the available vitavis into the "Recovery" spell and healed the wounded. Then they ran back to the edge of the arena, opened a small door and found themselves inside a protected room with a small chest filled with light crystals. Each took three and completely restored their vitavis.

"You fuck-tards!" Thomas shouted. "If you won't resist with all your strength right now, you'll die. Round two!"
The inquisitors, intoxicated by what was happening, staggered; for they were not given time to recover. None of them were used to being one step away from death, and then come back to life and immediately rush into battle. Thomas covered the arena with a black dome, and everyone was in pitch darkness, in which they could not even see themselves. The first scream sounded, followed by a second, more suffocating one. The third Inquisitor used the Incinerating Heart spell (rank 5) and the dome collapsed from powerful fire waves. They saw two inquisitors lying dead. One had his throat cut, and the other was missing the lower part of his body.
"Is he serious?" one of them asked.
"A million steel spears! (rank 5)" Thomas used the spell again.
His body was enveloped in a steel circle, resembling two drops connected together, which split into a million small needles, and in a split second grew to five meters in length.
The inquisitors grouped together and the one who possessed the "antimetovis" element absorbed the spell. Immediately, a steel boulder fell on their heads, reflected at the last moment by a fiery ray.
"The hand of death! (rank 4)" said the third surviving inquisitor.
A misty hologram of a man appeared next to Thomas, which tried to tear out his heart with invisible speed, and then disappeared before reaching its goal. Thomas himself did not even move and shouted:
"Have you forgotten that the element of darkness doesn't work on us?"
Before they could answer, they were trapped in a metal grate. Some of the rods were transformed into knives in the shape of a crescent and mercury in color and cut the bodies of the inquisitors beyond recognition. Those who were lucky enough to not instantly die were brought back to life by metentises of light.

"Round 3! Punishing darkness (Rank 4)" Thomas said, smiling from under the mask and attacked the medics.
They protected themselves with a shield of light.
Thomas, maddened in his bloodthirstiness, clouding his mind, folded his hands in a prayer pose and a humming and pulsating ball of dark color appeared between his palms.
Metentises of light did not think for long and attacked in response, without waiting for the time of casting a strong spell to end, and they would die.
They combined the elements of water, lightning and light in their next attack. There was a puddle under Thomas, holding his legs, a cloud formed from above and spewed about a dozen lightning bolts at one point, and the chains of the «light» element bound his body, so that he could not move.
Thomas unclenched his two index fingers, and a thick black liquid shot up, solidified and repelled the lightning attack. Then he opened his little fingers and cosmic balls flew at the metentises of light, resembling the size of cannonballs for the siege of castles in ancient times.
Metentises of light also defended themselves against this attack. However, the first one had torn the muscles on his arm from the strain. Another confidently thought that he could get Thomas and rid the world of this psycho and attacked with all cruelty. He combined the element of light and lightning, teleported behind the back of his hated sadistic boss, pulled out his sword and tried to cut off his head in a somersault. Thomas ducked, freed from the chains, and without looking or unclenching his hands, concentrated part of vitavis on his back and released two hammers with his shoulder blades, which tried to flatten the attacker.
At that moment, an inquisitor with the "Antimetovis" element appeared and absorbed the spell, and the second metentis of light, albeit clumsily, was right in front of Thomas's eyes, leaving his opponent no choice but to unclench his palms and release the accumulated energy. There was a gravitational push and metentises of light and inquisitors were thrown back several tens of meters.
"Iron Army of Darkness (rank 5)" Thomas continued to attack and steel soldiers materialized from under the ground. Some took out spears and swords from their scabbards, others took out steam crossbows of unknown design.
"Thomas, damn you!" Metentis of light shouted.
"Mass cancellation! (rank 5)" the antimetovis methentis shouted, but the spell had no effect. "He specifically used a combined rank 5 so that I couldn't cancel the spell! Thomas, do you want to kill us all?"
"Yes!" he shouted and laughed. "Dark Sun (rank 4)!"
“Fucking hell!”

The Perks of Immortality
This story will no longer be updated. After living decades and dying hundreds of times, Kegan has learned that he has finally passed some test that the cruel spirit had given him. Now, Kegan has the ability to gain “perks” that can make his life much easier. He is looking forward to finally having an easy life with the new perks he has earned. Rules to keep me honest for the perk system: Spoiler: Spoiler 1. The purpose of perks is to help the MC live longer and do new things each life. 2. The perks can be unlocked by getting hurt or killed. 3. The perks can be unlocked by putting in a lot of effort that isn’t easily duplicated in a new life. 4. Perks are generally beneficial enhancements to the MC’s body. 5. Perk costs can be lowered with more impressive achievements to unlock them. 6. Perk costs can be lowered by repeated death or injury from something the perk protects against. 7. Perk costs are increased for quality of life improvements that don’t benefit survival. I want to avoid one of the pitfalls I see for other LitRPG stories where the game elements barely relate to the story, or offer very little information. If people are skipping over and not reading the perks then I'm doing things wrong. So I promise to try and make the perks interesting, sometimes humorous, informative, and relevant to the story.Cover art by http://dertypaws.com/

Parental Controls
Reeve Williams always felt more at home in vivid virtual reality than in drab real reality, partly as an escape from the very real embarrassment of her technically inept parents, Walter and Wanda. When Reeve’s parents give her a new total-immersion virtual reality system for her birthday, Reeve reluctantly agrees to show them what it’s like…just for a few minutes. But a mistake only her technophobe father would make leaves Reeve facing the prospect of spending months in the greatly accelerated, fantastically complex, brutally unforgiving game world. With her parents. Posts will be every M/W/F. If I ever decide to try to turn Parental Controls into an ebook, I won't do so in such a way that I'd need to take down what I've posted to Royal Road. Thanks for reading!

Understanding a cultivation world
A modern man armed with having read a few novels about cultivation is suddenly transmigrated to a cultivation world. He fights to both survive and thrive in this new archaic world full of arrogant young masters, demonic sects, and incredibly hostile wildlife. Note: In this story, I wanted to focus a lot more on what most novels skim past in regards to cultivation, namely the whole, spiritual growth aspect that seems to be entirely absent from the prosses of obtaining enlightenment the majority of the time, but the method of gaining cultivation. how it works, and what kind of world would develop around it are all things I wish to explore in this novel.
