《Steaming City Of The Holy Inquisition》Volume 2. Chapter 11

They were approaching the old man, praying face down in front of an empty white field. The atmosphere of the place pressed on four newcomers, both physically and mentally. Something was obviously wrong. Something caused fear and apprehension. It's like a nightmarish event had happened, which is difficult to imagine. You don't know about it, but you feel how every particle, molecule of the air has absorbed this memory and is trying to tell you about it with an inexplicable metovis.
The old man himself was dressed in poor clothes of orange and yellow colors. He had a bald head and a shoulder-length gray beard. His whole frail and tortured appearance resembled an unsuccessful toll collector hoping for a miracle, but he had no miracle, no money, and even simple bourgeois shoes, only white icy feet with long, cracked nails.
Once they were two meters away from the old man, they took a few steps forward without lifting the soles of their shoes from the ground, as if they were riding on skis, leaving behind a barely noticeable rut, through which fallen leaves peeked out from under the snow. Homer found a working kerosene lamp on the first floor of the bell tower, and now it was swinging from side to side, making an iron creak, with a fire, small and pristine, which was revived after a long sleep. The old man did not move an eye, complete indifference to what was happening around him. He continued to pray and ask someone for forgiveness.
"Are you Matthew?" Egon asked.
The old man froze, looked at the field in front of him for a few more seconds, then picked up his cane and leaned on it and got up and dusted off his knees. He turned around and saw a group of four people. He greeted them with a bow and said in his trembling low voice:

"Ay. That would be me."
"We were told to find you, they said that you are one of the greatest fighters against the Inquisition."
Matthew not only did not smile, but rather wilted at such a statement. He turned away and looked at a small snowdrift near him, took a handful of snow, brought it to his mouth and ate it, as if he had eaten stuck rice. Then he took some more and washed his face. No one understood what was going on, and the old man was in no hurry to talk. He stared at the young people, looked into everyone's eyes, turned back to the field and finally said:
"Aah reckon, aah cain guess who sent y’all to me, but aah don’t see why."
"We would like to talk to you."
"Talk to me?" the old man asked politely, slightly surprised. "Today aah am right in demand."
"We're not the first ones, are we?"
"Nah. Ye’r not."
Egon felt that Matthew was disposed to talk, he answered politely, but he pronounced the words in a kind of incomprehensible form, like he was in a distant world of memories and thoughts. He tried to recover and return to reality. However, old age made itself felt, slowing down all thought processes, as if a lazy milling machine operator was sitting inside him, who could not switch the toggle in time.
"You have been fighting the Inquisition for so many years, do you want to tell us about it?"
“Tell y’all about what?”
“Tell your story.”
Matthew bent down, took some more snow, washed his face, cleared his throat. It seemed that he was gradually coming to his senses, he turned back to make sure of the reality of what was happening, looked at them with his dead and empty eyes, the color was akin to the salty dark blue-green ocean, and answered:

"Ye're here for a reason, ain’t ye?"
"We're here to talk to you."
"You don't look like ordinary people who hang around here from time to time."
"Aye, that's right."
Matthew, not noticeably for the others, used a special metovis technique that shows the aura which every person living in this world, or a metentis or a creature of another race, possesses. Egon's aura was black and white, something he had never seen before. What an unusual young man, he thought. Ofir and Guillotine had the standard white aura for a person. As for what had happened to Homer, he understood immediately.
"Ye have a difficult fate, don't ye?"
"We won't complain," replied Guillotine.
Matthew sat back down on the cold, frozen ground, put down his cane and put his hands on his knees. The wind howled with a new force, lifting the upper, soft layer of snow and twisting it into small tornadoes, which crashed into the old man, and then disappeared; a snowdrift, like river rapids, rushed without memory into the distance all over the field behind him.

Pocket Dungeon Lite
Based on the Pocket Dungeon original novel made by Stuckin (I asked for his permission beforehand). I do not know if this could count as a fanfiction as I made up many elements on the go so, for now, I will list this as an original but if Stuckin-sama would like me to change it I will be fine with doing so. This is somewhat of a self-insert but I made sure not to make the MC to OP. Also, the creator of the cover is Vurguy I tried to contact him to ask for permission but couldn't due to technical issues please go support him on Deviant Art and I don't own the picture so if he wants me to take it down than I am completely okay with doing so. As I am an improving author, I am glad to receive any constructive criticism or critical review I just hope that everyone will give me a chance before they yell at me for something or at least tell me what made them angry so I know what the issue is and can figure out how to deal with it. For now, my schedule is 1-2 chapters a week and if I am busy with either work or school 1-3 chapters every 2 weeks. I expect a bunch of chapters at the beginning around 5 or so and for me to continue from there. I will try my best to keep some chapters in storage for any time where I can't write for whatever reason. I will continue to change this part of the synopsis if anything changes in my update schedule. - From a thoughtful Author Pocket Dungeon is a widespread interstellar game that has captivated the attention of many races and civilizations. Nowadays in the 2300s anyone not living under a rock would grow up with a dungeon and learn to manage it over time as they make mistakes along the way. But as all things go there is always an exception and this exception can be found in Nadezhda Ledopad who had an overprotective family that didn't let him interact with anything but those they deemed worthy and safe. This overprotectiveness caused them to forbid him from gaining a pocket dungeon as they knew with his intelligence and specialties in certain fields he would become a strong dungeon master, quickly. This was something his family was very much against as they knew that his competitiveness and duty to maintain the Ledopad family's reputation would push him to win in the competitions that he would inevitably get invited too. This all changed when Nadezh graduated high school and moved to the Celestial Plane capital star as a Prodigal student in planetary conservation (major) and revival of species through DNA transferal (minor). His brother in all but blood Tet schemed to get him into Pocket Dungeons when they got there as no one would keep Nadezh from playing. Nadezh excited to join his peers in this famous game looked forward to doing so. But with this one decision, many futures changed and the Fates laughed as people of strong destinies meet together on this plane. Warning - This will probably contain LGBT+ relationships. You have been warned, I will not tolerate stupidity to the ninth degree in the comment section and I hope that people can be logical enough to GO AWAY if they don't like this kind of thing. If you don't feel comfortable with mature or explicit scenes I will put a warning in the chapters or parts with such and I just wanted all of you to know that this will be a long novel as with most novel I will write in the future so don't expect a deep romantic relationship anytime soon.

Healing Dungeon
// DUNGEON Mechanics will start to appear around chapter 100+/Arc 3 of the story! \ Avan, a 25-year-old young man, is torn from his rather boring life. He awakens in Aorus, a world full of magic, monsters and dungeons. By a stroke of luck and an ominous skill called "Potential", he awakens a new class never seen before called Dungeonheart (Human). Dungeons, although sentient, are never sapient nor mobile. Join Avan as he pursues his passion for healing and martial arts, and building his very own dungeon at the same time. He’s the hybrid of a moving dungeon and a healer. "Healing Dungeon" will include City building, strategy, very little romance, exploration of the world of Aorus, and a touch of power levelling. (There are elements from other fantasy novels, as well as anime, games, and more). What will all be possible with a dungeon that can move, but still brings some of the familiar dungeon mechanics along for its journey? -- Please note that the beginning and thus the first chapters were really my first writing works in english, and can only be rewritten at a later time (lack of time in favor for new chapters) --(The writing style and also the story improves VERY much from the 12th chapter at the latest! Proofreading is available, but I depend on any well-intentioned advice from you guys). If you have any questions, suggestions, constructive criticism, or just because you feel like it, feel free to leave me a comment below the respective chapters! For every positive and serious review or rating, I am infinitely grateful! ;) I am a creature of few words and the beginning is therefore a little faster than I would have liked it now in retrospect. Please do not expect huge paraphrases and descriptions of the environments, but only what is really necessary to get into the scene. Cheers and hopefully see you in the comment section.
