《Phantasmic Light》Chapter 2: Despair

All of the light present in the church was stolen away by the boy. The only thing that the people present could focus on was him, as he was surrounded by a blood red hue. Little did they know that the blackness surrounding them was also the same aura.
The previously fainted princess was awoken by the commotion, rather she was awoken by her contracted beast, Salus. Salus, the griffin, knew that her natural enemy was being summoned to the world through this contract. A dragon. And by this reaction of the church being almost swallowed by the void, it was no ordinary dragon. Dragons in general could not be considered a normal beast to be able to contract, but this was a monster on a completely different level. She woke the princess and spoke to her through the contract, so only the person contracted to the beast could hear them.
“You must never approach that boy, Lux.” The voice was gentle and angelic, Lux instinctively knew that it Salus.
The princess had a puzzled look on her face for a second and then was about to ask the obvious ‘Why?’ but was stopped by something. That something being the baleful energy that was emitting from the boy she had never seen before today.
“What is he?” She mentally asked Salus. Although she was trying to be brave, her emotions couldn’t be hidden from the Griffin no matter how hard she tried.
“Something far more dangerous than what we can handle in this present state. Maybe only your father, the king will be able to take on something like that. And that’s before he grows accustomed to his beast companion.” Her voice was solemn, with a tint of regret.
A contracted beast was able to share memories with the contractor, so the griffin knew just how strong the king was. That’s what she thought, although the princess had never actually seen the king’s full strength.

“Lux, cannot stay here.” The urgency in Salus’ voice was transferred along with the raw emotion known as fear. She was scared of whatever that boy was contracting and binding to this world.
As princess Lux was about to get out of the knight’s grasp, she realized she couldn’t move, and neither could this knight. The pressure being emitted from the boy was too much for anyone to handle. She never would have thought the tall, cute boy with the breathtaking blue eyes would be someone who she would fear just a short half hour later.
She sent a mental message in distress to Salus. “I-I can’t move... am...I going to die?”
Salus bathed her in a holy light and gave her enough strength to break from the knights grasp and scramble behind some sort of cover. She couldn’t leave the church, the pressure from the aura given off from the boy made sure that every step that was taken either towards or away from him was 10 times harder to take. Even with the power from Salus it wasn’t enough to be able to leave the church. The feeling of terror was in the hearts of everyone watching. They knew that there was nothing that could be done for them. They couldn’t move, they could barely breathe as the world’s most terrifying presence was about to be contracted to a 13 year old boy. They could do nothing but despair as they felt death breathe down the back of their necks.
