《The Wandering God》Chapter 15 : An acorn to tremble the earth

Note : So yeah guys, I have a confession to make. TWG is actually pretty hard to write for me so I am also kinda helpless in trying to speed up it's release, mostly it is a matter of feeling or insights I don't know, it actually kinda annoys me too but for the time being I can only promise 2x a week, 1x if I'm very busy. So, I truly apologize for that.
On a side note, I wonder if anyone would care if I put up a glossary?
“Huff…huff..huff “
Running through the seas of forest, Ju Yan, the little boy who escaped from the bandit groups sprinted with all of his might whilst gasping for every little breath he could to preserve his stamina.
He charged forward deeper into the forest, his eyes had long turned blurry. His legs felt as if they were about to break apart, but he kept on running and running.
Following closely behind him was a horde of magic beasts chasing after him.
One look and one could easily tell that these beasts aren't running at their full speed or else they would have long catch up to Ju Yan, they looked like they were enjoying Ju Yan struggling to live.
" How did this happen? Am I..going to die here? No! I can't..can't..everyone..everyone is waiting for me.. “ He sobbed and began to think back to a few hours ago when he had just escaped from those traffickers.
He hid behind a tree while waiting for a chance when they would leave before he could run away and ask for help.
But it had never crossed his mind that a magic beast would actually detect him and chased after him. In a state of total confusion, he could only run deeper and deeper into the forest where eventually, more and more magic beasts joined in the fray to chase after him.
He had already lost count of how many moments he almost died.
Suddenly..his legs froze, unwilling to move any longer. With both of his legs frozen, Ju Yan couldn't even stand anymore and collapsed into the ground. His mind had not given up yet but it looks like..his legs had already given up on him.
Despair filled his eyes as he could hear the sounds those beast are making becoming ever closer.
But suddenly, a voice roared out out of nowhere.
“ Scram! “
A single word echoed out at the vicinity, those beasts that had been chasing after him all stopped in their tracks and each of them trembled uncontrollably, and within moments they had fled hurriedly.
It was only a single word, but it was all it took to cause these beast to tremble in fright. This word would later on be something that Ju Yan engrave on his mind for eternity.
Ju Yan who was on the verge of collapsing could no longer comprehend what was exactly happening. But he realized that those beasts are no longer chasing him.
His eyes bleak, and in the very last moments all he could see was a figure..a human figure. He did not know why, or he was probably not even in a conscious state at the time. However, in that state he still managed to utter out his last words before collapsing.
“ Please.. my friends..sa..v..e “
With a thud, his head fell straight into the ground. Ju Yan was not a cultivator of even the lowest rank, so to be able to run all the way quite deep into the outskirts part of the forest needs incomprehensible bravery and also determination. Determination to be able to hold on for so long running at his maximum speed when he had long reach his limit.

The human figure sighed and shook his hands, causing an invisible power to seep out, surrounding Ju Yan. His eyes fell on to the distance at the direction the boy went through.
With an intention from him, the invisible energy shot out once again, this time covering an incredible amount of range, it passed through the seas of trees, reaching outside of the forest into the plains, eventually the energy focused into a particular caravan with wagons following behind it.
“ I expected to one day meet these people, but for us to meet so early..hmph. “ His eyes cold, he willed the energy to surround him and in an instant, he disappeared from the forest and In the next moment, he reappeared in the air floating above the caravan.
Strong wind blew upon him and his hood fell off, his long, golden hair fluttering about in the sky.
Of course, that man was none other than Li Zun. And with his divine awareness, he could naturally tell just what is inside these wagons, but he did not choose to act immediately and instead he took a bit of time to observe everything that was occurring inside the caravan.
Gambling, drinking…there even those who were raping the women they had captured. In just a few moments, Li Zun could no longer bear to see it and flew into a rage.
He let out a cold breath and took something out of his interspacial ring. The ring was something he obtained from the leader. Bum Gumsu had one too of course, but the leader’s ring was of a higher quality than his, it could store much more space inside it. Henceforth, Li Zun threw it away already,
The thing he took out was actually an acorn the size of an apple, it's colour was brown and plain. Except for it’s size, it looked just like a normal acorn.
But the instant he took it out, a sublime aroma wafted around him. With an intention from him, his divine energy brew out, carrying with it the aroma of the acorn.
His energy eventually reached the Mythical Beast Forest below and although some of the fragrance had dissipated into the air, a small amount of it still remained and it quickly spread around the forest with the aid of the divine energy.
Li Zun stood up in the air unmoving. He waited for a moment before counting down.
“ 3..2..1..0 “
And indeed, when he reached 0, a tremor broke out in the forest. It was not a tremor caused by an earthquake, but instead it was caused by magic beasts!
The tremor eventually reached a terrifying level and even people from miles away could feel it. But the cause of it all, Li Zun still stood up there silently, his face expressionless. Clearly, he had already expected for this to happen.
The magic beasts in the forest looked like they had turned mad after sniffing that aroma. Their eyes turned red and it did not take long before fights broke out amongst them.
Although they were low leveled beasts since they were only able to stay on the outskirts of the forest, the scene of hundreds of beasts going mad like this is enough to terrify any 2nd realm cultivator.
They were fervently searching for that aroma, even to the point of going mad. If it was magic beasts that do not originate from the Mythical Beast Forest, their reaction might not had been so great.

But these beasts had lived in the forest for years, although they had never delved deeper into the forest and could only stay in the outskirts, they instinctively realized that deep in the forest..lies something amazing.
That something had been the one that made this certain forest be so abundant of energy and the energy provided by it had eventually made them become quite accustomed to it. Therefore, when they sensed that this aroma contained a similar presence to the energy they absorbed in, they couldn't help but craze for it.
What kind of thing is the one producing this aroma? That, they did not know, nor do they care anyway. What they do know that if they took in such a treasure, the benefits will be unimaginable for them!
As for the person who instigated all this? He was still up in the air, now even in a sited position, watching things unfold.
While Li Zun had half-expected for things to happened like this, he was still quite surprised at the power of this acorn he is holding. But the reason why he was confident it would be able to cause such a ruckus among these beasts is because the acorn Li Zun was holding on to was..the fruit of the Earthly Oak Tree!
Such a thing may not seem so incredible but one must know just what kind of treasure the Earthly Oak Tree is. It is just a sole tree, yet it actually created such a lush forest thousands of kilometers around it! And just with it's presence alone, thousands and millions of magical beast made the Mythical Beast Forest it's home!
Such a treasure, only laid it's fruit once every year! And these fruits are in a very small amount, measly even. Thus, if a magic beast consumed it, especially these outskirts beasts. The effects are unimaginable!
Li Zun continued to observe these beasts with his divine awareness, it had not been a full minute and yet the situation had already gone out of hand.
“ Alright, it's about time to do it, any longer and there will be countless of casualties. “ With a snap of his fingers, his divine energy began to retreat back to him at a slow speed. At the same time, the aroma also followed along with it. This caused those beasts who had been rampaging around trying to find the source of the aroma to turn their attention to Li Zun's location.
Within moments, almost all the beasts in the outskirts of the forest that had been affected by the aroma..rushed out!
Seeing things going all according to his plans, Li Zun nodded slightly in satisfaction. Then, he raised his hands that was holding the acorn.
With a slight blow from him, the acorn flew out right on top of the caravan of the bandits who were still in confusion about the turbulent tremors that occurred in the forest. Some sticked their heads out to see, others even got out of the caravan to take a clearer look.
In spite of that, they all found out that nothing out of ordinary. There was no mountain erupting or anything of sort as such, all they did was raise their eyebrows and shoulders in confusion. They had never heard such a thing happening in the forest, so all they could was to take some precautions and speed up.
Sadly, these guys..did not know that a huge catastrophe was waiting upon them.
Nonetheless, it did not take them long to realize it when a huge amount of dust and smoke were becoming visible in their eyes along with the sounds of the tremors becoming increasingly closer to them.
These bandits all felt as if their hearts stopped beating, they were scared silly. All of them had already subconsciously realized what is happening. But not a single one of them dare to speak it, all of them were wishing that what their eyes were seeing was nothing more than a dust storm.
And yet, their wishes doesn’t look like it was coming true as they saw that hundreds or even a thousand magical beast squirming out of the forest at high speed.
When those bandits saw this, their face immediately fell. Their countenance became dark to look at. Especially when they realized that although these beasts were in a huge disorder, some even stepping on one another, their target looked like..it was their caravan!
Realizing this, they screamed and shouted, bickering about with each other. Although they did not know what kind of thing could cause such a terrifying scene, they did know of one thing.
That the thing is..incredibly precious!
And what's more even mind blowing is that this thing..is in their caravan!
They are mainly traffickers of slaves and some normal goods. All of them knew that the goods they brought with them couldn't be the source of it or else the Boss wouldn't have left it for them to carry.
And so, they could only come into a conclusion that some bastard had found himself a treasure trove and kept it for themselves in this caravan.
“ F*ck it, leave! Leave the caravan! I don't know what kind of f*cking thing caused all of these beasts to rush here madly but whatever it is, this thing is beyond our scope! “ One intelligent man shouted.
" That's right! I don't know which f*cker got himself a treasure trove that caused those beasts to become like this but you better leave it in here if you want to live! Forget it, I'm escaping! “ Another intelligent man shouted.
All of those who heard their shouts looked as if they had been enlightened. In a hurry, they threw about every item they had secretly took with them and ran out of the caravan, scrambling about at full speed.
Since the forest is a distance away from them, if these beasts’ are all fully focused on the caravan alone. They might just have a slight chance to make it out alive if they run away now. Especially since most of them are cultivators.
Alas, these " intelligent “ men do not know of the existence even more terrifying than the horde of beasts was silently watching them from above..

System Only Gives Me Useless Gifts
Li Yun grew up with a system that gave him useless gifts. He wanted a reward that could prove the existence of the system, but ended up with abstract gifts like culture. Without physical proof, he was stuck wondering whether his mind was truly sane, all the while dealing with the reality of life. How will the "useless" system help Li Yun navigate medical school, hospital politics, criminal cases, treasure hunting, farming and cooking? Author's Note: This is a slice-of-life novel about a doctor with a mission-type system. It's written as a faux modern Chinese novel, so there are many 1-off characters and episodic mini arcs. Just a bit of warning, the tone of the story is very different after the childhood arc and jumpy as it chronicles Li Yun's life. I'm trying to make it less apparent in the rewrite, but there are still a lot of time skips. RR is the rewrite version, no set schedule. See webnovel for OG. scribblehub is a combo of both . I recommend scribblehub since it has pictures. Copyrights of the novel and cover are owned by Chocomug. Novel is free to read and download for personal use, such as offline reading, only.
