TWG Chapter 6 : Bum Gumsu's misery

Somewhere in Mythical Beast Forest..

“ Alright, let's start over from the top “ a voice resonated out of thin air.

“ Y-yes “ Bum Gumsu replied hastily, afraid that he would offend this mysterious expert that he was unable to detect or see at all.

“ Your name is Bum Gumsu, and you are a noble of Dunham City? “

" That's right “ Bum Gumsu nodded his head tepidly, he had been asked the same question 3 times already. At this moment, he was beginning to think that this mysterious expert has some kind of disorder.

“ And your purpose here is to apprehend the criminal Ru Wuxi who was suspected to have killed the Lord of Dunham? “ The voice continued.

“ Uh..it was not suspected sir, the royal decree stated that she had assassinated the lord.. “ Bum Gumsu tried to correct him.

“ Shut up! “ the voice suddenly exploded, scaring Bum Gumsu in the process.

“ If the Royal decree told you to eat poop, would you eat poop?! “

Bum Gumsu sweated profusely at this question.

Since ancient times, this was probably the first time the Royal decree was insulted to this extent..

“ N-no sir “ Bum Gumsu could only reply meekly. He was usualy a very haughty and arrogant person. Back in Dunham city, he was known as the nightmare of young ladies and was one of the royal experts that had the worst reputation. But currently...he was no different from the lackeys he ordered around back then.

In his heart, he was cursing continuously at what dog shit did he actually stepped into to meet this kind of person.

The voice humphed lightly in a satisfied tone, interrupting his thoughts.

“ Now tell me, is your purpose only to apprehend her? “

When Bum Gumsu heard this question, cold sweat began to pour out of his back, his mind reeling, he began to simulate all kinds of possibilities that could happen.

“ If I told him that we were planning to play around with her, who knows what he would do to me? “

“ Y-yes sir, th-this, I Bum Gumsu swore to the heavens. “ Bum Gumsu replied ‘ truthfully ’.

“ Hmm..then, have you investigated whether the Royal Decree was telling the truth? “

Who in their right mind would investigate a Royal Decree ?

Unless of course, that someone was a being that even the Lord couldn't oppose at all cost! However, if he was someone of that stature, then forget pledging his service to a lord, he would be a lord himself!

“ Did you? “ The voice asked once more with a colder tone.

“ Uhh.. we did, we did! We have made thorough investigations! “

“ Oh? "

“Th-this, senior, I Bum Gumsu would have never dared to lie to senior! If I were to lie one day, I should be burned and castrated a thousand times over! “ Bum Gumsu spoke out righteously, as if him lying was an earth shaking sin.

When the owner of the mysterious voice who was of course, Li Zun heard him say this, he felt his head go dizzy.

Aii..this person’s shamelessness truly knows no bounds !

“ In the first place, how could a funny name like Bum Gumsu be the name of a noble “ Li Zun sighed with emotion, he really wanted to tell him to pick a better name to lie next time.

" Looks like I really have no choice but this.. "

Li Zun looked hesitatingly at Bum Gumsu, he did not want to use this art, but it seems that he truly had no choice now.

Bum Gumsu did not even have time to respond to the sudden declaration when two flashes of bright light flashed past, the instant Bum Gumsu saw the light, he felt his head go dizzy and immediately passed out.

Numerous images began to pop up into Li Zun's mind. Replays of Bum Gumsu's life from his birth to becoming an expert at his city, his numerous deeds, evil or not, everything was playing in Li Zun's mind.

After around 30 breaths[1] of time, Bum Gumsu's body slowly dropped to the ground, lifeless.

Li Zun, who had just finished soul scouring Bum gumsu, breathed out a sigh of relieve.

“ This art..is truly, truly dangerous! Thankfully, thankfully he did not die. " Li Zun gasped in fear.

Soul Scour allows one to pry into the memories of someone, revealing almost all the secrets that a person could keep! But of course it was not without a price, it has huge side effects too!

Usually, if an immortal were to use soul scour, the target would end up dead as a result of the soul scouring placing a huge strain on the victim’s soul, causing the soul to become damaged.

But because Li Zun is not just any ordinary immortal but a Demigod instead, he possessed the almighty Divine Energy which he used to coat Bum Gumsu's soul with to prevent him from entering death’s doors.

However, Li Zun had just spent too little time in cultivating the Soul Scour technique and with his measly control of his Divine Energy, the ' coating ' he did cannot be said to be without flaws. Hence, as a side effect, Bum Gumsu's memories were completely erased, leaving him with only basic knowledges to live off.

" Maybe it was for the better that his memories were erased.. " Li Zun muttered after pondering briefly.

Were he to damage Bum Gumsu's soul, he would without a doubt, die. Losing memories is nothing significant compared to death.

In truth, Li Zun was actually afraid of killing him. Although he knew that Bum Gumsu was not a decent person at all, the world he lived before had very strict laws in the prohibition of killing.

Living in that kind of environment, naturally, he had never witnessed someone being killed, much less actually doing the deed himself.

Hence the reason why he prolonged the ‘ interrogation ‘ as he hesitated in using Soul Scour, afraid that he might accidentally kill him in the process. It was definitely not because at some point, he began to enjoy teasing him!

Alright he did enjoy it, just a little.

But you can't really fault him. In his previous life, Li Zun rarely had conversations that lasted that long, not to mention where he could be in such a good mood while talking, so he couldn't help but enjoy teasing him.

Although when he was talking to Bum Gumsu, he did not dare to stay close to Bum Gusmu while talking, afraid that his curse would frighten Bum Gumsu to death.

Li Zun stared silently at the now unconscious Bum Gumsu that was lying on the ground.

This was Li Zun, he was kind but he was not soft hearted. He decided not to end Bum Gumsu's life because he saw that there was still a chance for him to turn over. While at the same time, he could keep watch on him should he decide to walk on the path of evil once more.

" For now, I should seal your cultivation at least. “ With an incantation from his fingers, Divine Energy began to congeal around Bum Gumsu's body, forming an invisble seal that latched into Bum Gumsu's muscles, bones, etc. In a matter of moments, the seal had already began working, sealing off Bum Gusmsu's 4th rank cultivation and turning his body to that of an ordinary mortal.

Li Zun knew that by sealing Bum Gumsu's cultivation, he had a much higher chance to turn over. Men are creatures that are easily blinded by strength. Only when they experience the feeling of weakness and hopeless themselves can they relate to the weak.

“ I wish that you would live a decent life from now on. I will continue to watch over you using my divine sense, I hope that you would prove to me that I did not make the wrong choice “

Li Zun willed his Divine Energy and made Bum Gumsu float close to him, then he teleported continuously to a location far away from Dunham kingdom.

After teleporting countless of times, Li Zun finally stopped at a mountain forest which is fairly close to a village.

This was one of the villages Li Zun randomly picked from Bum Gumsu's memories.

After confirming that there were no dangerous beasts around, Li Zun dropped the floating Bum Gumsu down to a tree then he placed a trace of his Divine Strand inside his body before finally teleporting out of the place.

With his current teleportation range, going back to the Mythical Beast Forest would not take too much time.

By the time he arrived, he gradually regained his usual disposition while at the same time, he can finally digest his newfound information - Bum Gumsu's memories.

" So..he actually didn't lie to me when he said his name was Bum Gumsu, now I kinda feel bad.. “

Back when he had just finished soul scouring, he did not have the mood to laugh at Bum Gumsu's name because of the terrible side-effects soul scour might have caused. But now that everything had been resolved, he was in a fairly good mood.

“ But he did lie to me about almost everything except his name and status, so he got what he deserved, hmph hmph. “

If Bum Gumsu were to hear this, he would definitely feel like crying.

How could he have thought that Li Zun had already doubted him just after hearing his name ? It was too unjust for him..

Somewhere in the outer area of Mythical Beast Forest.

BOOM!! BOOM!!

Explosions rang out one after another, followed by the cracking sounds of trees being torn apart.

“ Get the hell out here Ru Wuxi you b*tch !! “ The Leader of the experts who was chasing Ru Wuxi roared full of rage.

When the Wyrr Drake attacked, he chose to split his force into two with his team pursuing Ru Wuxi.

However, things didn't go as he planned at all.

Ru Wuxi, who no longer bothered to conceal her 5th rank cultivation is simply as slippery as a fish in the water.

Back when she was a royal expert of Dunham Kingdom, the Lord had valued her very highly even though she is ' merely ' a 4th ranked warrior.

After all, her strength did not lie in her 4th rank cultivation, but her assassination skills instead! A truly top-tiered assassin would be able to easily and silently kill a warrior of the same rank. Of course that was under the condition that the warrior is unprepared and alone.

Nonetheless, despite their obvious strengths they have their own flaws too. If these assassins were to engage in direct close combat with a warrior, they would be severely disadvantaged. In the end, assassins are warriors who pursued the arts of one-hit kills, concealment and escapement. Battling at close-quarters is simply not their forte at all.

As such, Ru Wuxi who is especially talented as an assassin already had astounding speed back when she was hiding her strength. Now, with her releasing her 5th ranked strength, her already excellent speed had became even faster allowing her to easily shake off her pursuers.

But..she did not stop at just running away.

After she had hidden herself from them, she opted to viciously attack them instead! Sneaking up on them countless of times, she managed to kill 4 more people in their group, totaling her kill count to 6. In the process, she had also managed to cut the leader’s right arm, leaving him with only a single arm.

With the exception of the leader and Bum Gumsu, she had already exterminated the squad that continued to chase after her.

" Dangit, Damn it all!! I swear I'm gonna break you until you plead me to kill you Ru Wuxii!! “ The leader shouted till his lungs felt like it could snap.

" AARGHH!! Come out here if you dare!!! " He released a powerful punch into a nearby tree, causing that tree to fly off the ground, breaking into pieces!

Looking at his crazed state right now, one might think that he is extremely angered because 6 of his subordinates had died. But in fact, the reason why he went absolutely bonkers is because he had lost his right arm..

The horror of losing his right arm is far greater than losing his 6 subordinates. After today, his cultivation would be hindered and his fighting capabilities would drop by a level. Losing an arm is almost equivalent to crippling a warrior.

In the midst of all that shouting and screaming, a shadow quietly sneaked up behind a big tree. From this tree, one would be able to spy on the crazed leader without alerting him.

That shadow was of course none other than Ru Wuxi who was panting heavily, trying to soften her breathing as she waited for an opportunity to strike..

[1] So someone asked me how long is N breaths of time? The answer is simply how long it takes to breathe in and breathe out normally. Which I tested myself is around 3 seconds. So 30 breaths is around 1.5 minutes.
