《The Wandering God》Chapter 4 : Divine Energy

Note : Sorry for the late release, *** Microsoft Word & One Drive deleted my 70% done chapter. Just thinking about it makes me depressed..
Center of the Mythical Beast Forest, Earthly Oak Tree, Inside The Tree House.
The following morning, The little pup woke up while yawning lazily. He got up from the floor and turned his head to look at Li Zun's make shift bed, only to find out that he was not there.
The little pup lazily plunked down towards the cool wooden floor, rolling it's body around.
After rolling a few times on the floor, he finally stopped and began to stare at the ceiling.
Too much had happened to him yesterday. His only parent had died..but he had met Li Zun. If Li Zun wasn't there, he probably would have died long ago when the Ox had strangled him. Even if he survived against the Bipedal Ox, he probably wouldn't have much more to live. He was heavily injured at the time and the other beasts wouldn't be so kind to him either.
The little pup shook his head cutely and got up from the floor once again. He knew that he couldn't stay depressed forever. He must treasure the life that his father gave him and become powerful in the future.
With eyes filled with determination, the little pup walked outside the tree house and began jumping down from branches to branches before it finally arrived at the ground.
It was after all, the offspring of the Vajra Thunder-Wolf. There is no way it could be compared to a normal wolf.
The little pup looked around the vicinity, and found out that Li Zun wasn't here too. So he decided to stroll around and searched for him.
As he approached the river, a familiar sense rose up within him and he quickly ran towards it.
Rustling sounds of leaves and grasses filled the air as the little pup ran past them. Soon, he reached the river at the bottom of a short cliff.
Surrounded by pale silver stones and leafy grasses, the river looked very enchanting to the eye. And at the middle of it, a person clothed in leaves sat down on top of the river in a lotus position, that person looked very alluring and catching to one's eye, complimented with his shining long golden hair, he looked a divine being that descended down to the earth.
Were it not for him being clothed in leaves and the murky aura that permeated out of him, the scene would have looked completely perfect.
Yes, that man was of course, none other than Li Zun.
He had been in that position since an hour ago, floating just above the gushing water.
When he had finished reading over the imprint the Goddess had left him, he immediately tested out his flight capabilities by using his Divine Energy.
As soon as he got the handle of it, Li Zun soared to the sky and began to fly across the air, performing air acrobatics while laughing in glee along the way. After all, wasn't it man's dreams to be able to fly freely in the sky ?
How could Li Zun not get excited by the thought of him flying, he was so excited that he didn't stop till an hour had passed. When he was finally able to contain his excitement, he began to test out another basic way to use Divine Energy.

That is Divine Awareness. By spreading out divine awareness, a deity would be able to observe countless kilometers around it, all the way to minute details like the small grains of sand or dust. Those who had reached true Godhood would be able to instantly cover a planet like the Cloudy Days planet.
The current Li Zun, however, is only able to utilize a mere 1% of his true divine energy, anymore than that and he would no longer be able to control it.
Therefore, his divine awareness could only cover the range around the river and the Earthly Oak Tree. Despite that, it was enough for him to watch over and monitor the little pup, ensuring that it was safe at all times.
Thus, because of his divine awareness, Li Zun had already known that the little pup had woken up and is headed towards him.
At this moment, Li Zun opened his closed eyes.
He looked towards the little pup and raised a smile on his face. Then, he began to remember about the other uses of Divine Energy.
One of those uses is it's capability to heal mortals that are injured or even disease that the mortal may experience. But to be able to heal a mortal, a God would have to be very careful and confident in his control over his own Divine Energy.
Should the God expend just a bit over the required amount, the mortal would directly experience an overflow of divine energy, causing the body to be unable to hold on and burst.
“ Ahh..Good thing I somehow managed to insert the right amount of divine energy at little Xie. If I somehow failed just now and the divine energy goes out of control… “ Li Zun began to sweat profusely at the thought.
If he hadn't been lucky in healing the little pup’s wounds before…who knew if the little pup would still be alive right now.
What Li Zun didn't know that at the time, he had actually....already bypassed the limit that any magic beast could even receive.
Li Zun got up from his lotus seated position and walked above the waters towards the little pup hastily.
When he held the little pup in his arms, he began to fear that at that day, he could have lost the little pup due his carelessness.
Li Zun had not realized that he was already used to having the little pup besides him just after a single day. His previous life had been too, too lonely after all..
When he could finally mentally confirm that the little pup is right beside him, he finally let go of it.
The little pup only looked at Li Zun with a confused expression. But he had no intention to reject Li Zun. He too, had been quite used to having Li Zun besides him just after a day.
“ Ahahaha..hey Xiao Xie, do you want to taste flying ? “ Li Zun looked at the little pup with a gleeful face.
He did not even waited for the little pup’s response before he burst out his divine energy, flying through the sky.
The little pup’s screams of fear filled the air, although it didn't last long though, before it turned into screams of excitement instead.

The two of them had only returned back to the tree house when the sun has set.
With Li Zun's current speed, travelling through the forest in a blink of an eye is absolutely not a problem.
Along the way, they traveled through the entire forest, admiring the scenes from above.
Li Zun had also been forced to stop to cook for the little pup before they finally returned back to the Earthly Oak Tree. Since he was now a deity, he did not need to eat to nourish his energy. Instead, he only needs to absorb the surrounding Heaven-Earth Qi and slowly turn them into Divine Energy that he could use.
Regarding the density of Heaven-Earth Qi in his surroundings, Li Zun could only sigh in disappointment.
“ No wonder the goddess told me that the other gods only resided in a Grand or Greater Planets. I understand why now..the Heaven-Earth Qi in lesser planets are just too thin ! “ Li Zun exclaimed in sadness.
He needed a thick amount of Heaven-Earth Qi to support his use of divine energy, or else he would have to be a bit stingy in using it because of the lacking Heaven-Earth Qi. Although he did not need to worry about it too much right now, as the amount used to fly is extremely small, almost superficial. The amount used to spread awareness was not too big too.
As he was still unable to use advanced methods of the Divine Energies, he did not mind it for too much right now. For example..the most advanced method of using divine energy..Divine Blessings !
Divine Blessings needed a huge amount of Divine Energy to use. And without sufficient Heaven-Earth Qi, gods just couldn't casually use Divine Blessings or their divine energy would be horrendously depleted.
Were Li Zun to reach this stage, he did not need to worry too much, as he had the treasure tree, Earthly Oak Tree with him.
With the Earthly Oak Tree, Li Zun did not need to worry about having insufficient Divine Energy.
This had only made Li Zun sigh again in gratitude. The Goddess really did prepare the basic needs for him to live here until he broke through the true realm of Gods.
“ Breaking through huh..the goddess did say that unless I mastered some of those, I shouldn't think about breaking through at all, I wonder why ? “ When he remembered about the necessities the goddess required of him before breaking through, Li Zun could not help but become confused.
That is because..the necessities are quite..weird. If the goddess did not mention ‘this’ necessity to him, he wouldn't have dreamt that something like that could exist as he always thought that it was just a nature of living beings to have that.
( note : try and guess what is it ! )
“ Anyways..can someone even gain insights on something like that ? “ After much pondering of the matter, he remained puzzled.
“ Oh well, there is no use thinking about it if I couldn't understand it at all right now “ Li Zun shrugged his head helplessly.
A fool may ponder over a problem for a year yet he may not even solve an inch of it, on the other hand, a wise person may only need a look to figure it out.
Right now he needed to focus on getting the hang of his Divine Energy Instead. His control over his own Divine Energy is too petty to be said.
" Alright, before I went out traveling, I should at least be able to use the most basic way of using Divine Energy “ Li Zun decided. He decided to train the 3rd basic way of using Divine Energy, infusing it to one's attacks.
Although it might sound simple, Li Zun was someone who directly leveled up from an ordinary mortal to a Demigod, something that may seem simple to those who cultivated from the beginning wouldn't be as simple to Li Zun.
Li Zun continued on training his Divine Energy. At times the little pup would stood there besides him, observing him training at the side.
During training, he would cause the air to shake and the wind to rip apart, because he did not dare to use his Divine Energy at ground, sometimes a passing avian creature would get hit by his attacks and became their meal.
Li Zun would only stop training to cook for the little pup or to accompany it for a while, he understood the loneliness of the little pup more than anyone else, so he couldn't bear to leave it alone.
Soon, a month came to pass.
During this month, Li Zun only slept during the first day he arrived on the Floating Cloud Continent. He, who was now a Demigod didn't need any sleep anyway, so he didn't waste any of his time to sleep.
Only sometimes he would accompany little Xie to sleep, after that he would continue on training in the midst of the night.
The current Li Zun no longer wore a clothing made out of leaves, he now wore a simple yet elegant white tunic robe made out of his divine energy.
His complexion has also greatly changed, albeit his murky aura still remained.
Li Zun had also not wandered into the place with human populations, although he was a bit curious, Li Zun knew that he would still not be able to have much contact with the people there.
The only beast that had been able to be close with Li Zun are only 2. One is of course the little Xie, but the other one is an unexpected trespasser in Li Zun’s courtyard.
“ Whew, now I could at least expand my Divine Awareness onto the outskirts of the forest at the east, that should be enough for now “ The Li Zun now could control around 5-6% of his Divine Energy. But to use it to heal others ? Only when he could completely control it would he be confident. That just shows how rash Li Zun was at the time he tried to heal the little pup.
But at the moment that Li Zun had just stopped training, he suddenly detected human figures entering the forest..
Note : Alright, next chapter is where it all begins. P.S I think this chapter is quite boring yeah ? Sorry guys ahaha, will make it up.
