《Bob's Ascension to Godhood》008: The blubbering idiot

A lightbulb, albeit quite dim, appeared above Bob's head.

"Wait. I want to ask a question."

"Ask away."

"Why do you need my name?"

"So that we can keep track of your transactions, exchanges, etc."

"But why do you need my real name? Why not something else?"

"We identify everyone else based on their names. Why should we make an exception?"

"Because what if two people have the same name?"

"We also scan everyone's facial features and give them ID numbers."

"So then my question still stands. Why can't you just call me Bob Something and get it over with? You claim that it couldn't possibly be my real name, but so then it would be unique. Would anyone else say that they have the same name? Aren't I going to be a customer here? Why do you care about this if your goal is to make profits?"

Alec frowned. He had underestimate this idiot. Bob had used twisted logic to defeat his own... That meant that he had to fight back with even more twisted logic! ...Was his logic not twisted enough? No! It had to be! He was just overthinking it! ...What?

The bystanders were more than happy for this to happen; After all, they were just watching it the way one would watch a boring TV show that they only keep on because of how bored they are and who doesn't love a plot twist?

Bob, having a rapidly expanding sea of luck points, sighed and decided to stop the rain with a bit of luck for a better effect. Seeing Alec on the verge of a mental breakdown, he decided to hurry and exchange his mountains of iron coins already and get on with it.

"So, now for the purpose of my visit, I'd like to exchange a little bit of coin."

"A-all right, the bank takes 10% off all exchanges, so if you wanted to exchange 1000 iron for bronze, you would get 9 instead of 10. If you think we're being too stingy, then try finding any other bank that does exchanges."

Alec quickly regained his composure.

"Okay, how many bronze do you have?"

"Why are you asking?"

Bob poured out his mountains of iron coins. The bystanders all ran for their lives. Alec gaped at the amount.

"D-did you rob a bank or something?!"

"No, just a village."

Alec lost his composure and became a blubbering idiot again.

"Hello?"

"O-okay, we have 79 bronze and 5 silver."

"I'll leave the...uh..."

Bob quickly did the math.

"579000 coins behind?"

"Wait, no, I only have about 300000..."

"Yes, Yes, It is 579 thousand! If you leave 300 thou behind, that's enough for 3 silver!", Alec, seeing the chance to get rich, suddenly cut in.

The crowd was struck dumb at both Bob's stupidity and how thick-skinned Alec was.

"Okay... I'll leave 300 thousand behind then, and so then I can have three silver, and... HEY, WAITAMINUTE!"

Alec sighed. looks like he wasn't going to be able to rip the blubbering idiot off after all.

"I should leave 300 thousand... But that should only be enough for 30 bronze... I'm not as rich as I thought..."

Half the crowd fainted. Alec felt like the gods were laughing at him.
