《Modern Deity》Chapter 13: Difference Between Two Universes

This chapter was late today, sorry about that. I didn't have time to post it during school and I had my last water polo game today. But now it's posted, yay.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
After reaching a remote area without any people, Kyte softly landed on the forest floor. His feet pushed down on the soft, grassy ground. Sounds of birds and other small animals echoed throughout the area. The trees, bushes, and other vegetation wasn't necessarily thick, however, it was more densely packed than other areas with people hiking through.
Kyte used Internal energy to clear out all of the vegetation. The clearing he created was about half the size of baseball diamond, and all of the vegetation he moved acted as a sort of pseudo-wall around it. Just in case, Kyte laid down some alarm formations on paper around the wall.
Although Kyte does not have a lot of knowledge pertaining to formations, alarm formations are one of the most basic formation. By inserting his own Spirit energy, the formations create a linked wall around the clearing. If anything passes through the wall, the Spirit energy 'alarms' Kyte. Since the Spirit energy used is Kyte's Spirit energy, he's able to sense basically everything that moves through the thin wall.
Of course, not only the alarm formation, Kyte has also learned a few others that are part of the most basic group of formations. Basic trap formations, basic sealing formations, and just low-level ability formations that are capable of producing, for example, a small flame. That's the extent of Kyte's knowledge on formations, and since he's not entirely interested in formations, he doesn't really mind.
Standing in the middle of the clearing, Kyte went over the skill Fire Touch. It describes that by sensing the surrounding fire element in the world energy, the fire element could be drawn out and used to create fire. With higher levels of expertise, and natural talent, one may be able to produce destructive amounts of fire that could incinerate entire cities. Something like that would take a while, though.
Kyte sat down and began to calm his mind while rhythmically breathing. The weird energy, which is completely invisible, started to gather around Kyte. A large whirlwind gradually appeared as it swirled around Kyte. The wind was so strong that it was almost blowing away the wall of vegetation.
....This thing is too big. I wonder if I could...make it smaller.
Instead of focusing on breathing, Kyte focused on centering the vortex just on him. At first nothing happened, even after a full five minutes of him trying to contain it. He decided to spread his Spirit energy out to the perimeter of the vortex to try to bring it closer.
As he did that, the vortex grew smaller. The Spirit energy acted like a firm wall that was pushing the wind vortex closer and closer to Kyte. In turn, the vortex increased in intensity as electrical sparks appeared to jump around Kyte.
Forcing the vortex into a smaller space allowed the world energy within it to greatly condense, and it was almost visible to the naked eye. A faint black light started to appear and disappear, as if it was jumping into reality and then jumping out.
When Kyte brought the vortex just five feet from his body, he felt like he was going to be torn apart. The wind was so strong that he wasn't able to shrink the vortex any longer. That black light was clearly visible and it swirled around Kyte's body like liquid.
Kyte's Spirit energy was almost running out just from shrinking the vortex. No wind was escaping from the wall of Spirit energy that he created, and because of that, all of it was swirling around Kyte's body with great intensity. It looked like a swirling dome of doom, and the vortex was moving so fast that the wind itself was completely visible.

Suddenly, the black light around Kyte surged into his body. Actually, Kyte thought of absorbing that black light, and it freely entered his body. When he absorbed that black light, he was completely shocked at the intense and powerful energy that was within it. It was far beyond what he normally absorbed during this exercise.
The black light immediately surged around his entire body like lightning before it was completely absorbed by his skeleton. The amount of energy he absorbed from the black light was incomparably higher than how much he would usually absorb in ten hours.
Holy crap! If I do this about ten more times, I might reach mid Sentinel stage!
If Sol'keer had seen what just took place, he would be flabbergasted. This was the first time in history that that black light had been manifested. The world energy had condensed so greatly that it was refined into a black light that absorbed all light that came into contact with it. Not only that, but it smoothly moved around Kyte as if it was completely undisturbed by the powerful miniature vortex surrounding his body.
Finally, Kyte's Spirit energy was depleted, and since he didn't want to harm his soul again, he decided that enough was enough. The wall of Spirit energy around the vortex disappeared and the vortex disappeared as well. Everything was quiet as Kyte stood up on his feet.
Sol'keer never mentioned anything like this before. I guess this is one of the differences between two universes.
Without delaying any further, Kyte started to practice Iron Body. Since Iron Body and Sonic Blade only used Internal energy, Kyte could deplete his Internal energy while practicing one of them as well as waiting for his Spirit energy to build back up again. Kyte's Spirit energy would actually increase in quantity and quality as well, which is always good.
Kyte also never forgets to give his Spirit energy to Sol'keer's soul to help him recover. Since it actually helps Kyte, he really doesn't mind doing it. Although, even if it didn't help him, he would still do it. However, Sol'keer's soul was still far off from being interactive again.
After ten hours of continuous training, Kyte decided to head back. Luckily he didn't encounter any Guardians, and he made big improvements. He trained Iron Body to a basic level, and since he was training Iron Body the whole time he didn't get to Sonic Blade yet. However, he almost reached the mid Sentinel stage after absorbing that black light five more times.
Right now, Kyte is just focusing on practicing his new skills to the utmost quality. Since he's already at the last bottlenecks for his other skills, mainly Raging Palms and Windwalker, he's really only focusing on his new ones. He's also put off Fire Touch for the moment as well, as he really needs higher defense if he wants to survive longer. Sonic Blade as well sounds very beneficial, especially while using an energy weapon.
After returning to the apartment, it was now about eight in the evening. Currently, Kyte doesn't have many responsibilities yet since he just joined. He also doesn't have much to do with GG yet as well.
After seeing that Akina wasn't in the bedroom, Kyte went into the bigger room down the hall. Inside, Jol and Light were playing around with their powers.
"Wooah!"
Light smashed into the ceiling, but luckily it didn't crack.
"Jol, I think you need to tone down the throwing, right?"
Kyte said as he walked in.
"Kyte, you're back!"
Jol quickly jumped through the air and tackle-hugged Kyte.

"What the- Get off me!"
Kyte used Internal energy to throw Jol away onto the couch on the opposite side of the room.
Light already landed on the ground, and at that moment...
A yellow beam of energy shot straight through Kyte's chest.
"...."
"..Oh...oh my goodness...Akina's gonna kill me..."
That beam of energy was so powerful that it instantly disintegrated Kyte's flesh. No blood dripped out since the hole was already cauterized. However, the flesh quickly grew back into perfect condition. Although, now there was a hole in Kyte's clothes where the beam shot through.
Kyte slowly created an energy weapon, fully revealing the dread aura from within. He looked directly at Light...
"You know, most people don't like having a giant hole in their chest."
The dread aura emitting from Kyte's energy weapon was three times more powerful than when he was in the Spirit stage. Since the last time they felt this aura was at the Spirit stage, the difference between Kyte's energy weapon then and now is like the ground and sky.
"I-I-I-I'm s-s-s-sorry!!"
Light immediately fell to the ground, and Jol looked like he was suffocating just from the aura alone.
Ah-
Noticing the state they were in, Kyte quickly withdrew the energy weapon. The aura disappeared, and to Light and Jol, that was like a blessing.
Recalling that dreadful aura, Light continued to apologize until Kyte had to personally grab him and say that it was fine. He even showed how great his healing powers were after cutting his arm off. A new arm grew back and the one he cut off just turned to ash that quickly disappeared.
As if seeing some atrocity, Light just fainted.
"Huh? What'd I do?"
Jol caught him with his telekinesis and brought him over to the couch.
"Kyte, you just can't cut your arm off and assume they won't react."
Suddenly stepping into the room, Rose wrapped her arms around Kyte's chest.
Ugh..
Kyte immediately created an energy weapon, although this time reducing the dread aura, and stabbed himself through the chest. Rose quickly jumped away before the sword could touch her.
Jumping forward, Kyte pulled the sword out of his chest which healed immediately.
"I didn't know you would be willing to go that far, geeze."
"It's nothing really, you just creep me out a bit."
"Hehe, how so?"
"If I would have to take a guess, well.....you seem to open your legs to any guy you see!"
Kyte pointed at Rose with his finger.
Rose's face suddenly darkened. A thick stream of red energy spread out onto her arms, and she whipped her left arm toward Kyte's direction. A red line of energy wrapped around Kyte's waist so fast that Kyte could barely see it. He couldn't even react to it fast enough, that's how fast it moved.
"You're the only guy I want in my pants..."
Suddenly pulled directly onto Rose's body, Kyte could feel her soft breasts against his chest. Not only that, but her scent filled his nose which almost made him lose his focus. Her face was slowly drawing toward his...
Kyte released the dread aura to it's max, even weaving some of his Spirit energy into it as well, which was actually a first for him. The aura completely enveloped both him and Rose, and the aura stopped her in her tracks. Incomparable fear flashed in her eyes before she quickly released Kyte from her grip.
"I-I...I knew you had grown in power...but I didn't think you would've grown that much."
"Heh, thank you. I have some tricks up my sleeve."
Kyte withdrew the energy weapon again, and Jol let out a sigh of relief.
Although I didn't even use Heavy Air or Shadow Twins, which would've increase my power but about two or three times...
"Hmph....you'll be wanting me soon enough. I've made lots of men fall at my feet..."
"Even though you're still a virgin?"
"-! What?! Who told you that?!"
"Heh, so it was true!"
"Hey, what's a virgin?"
"Jol, you don't have to worry about that right now. Anyways, you think you can seduce me? Heh, I'd like to see you try. Every day I grow in power, and soon enough, I'll be far above you, so even if you do try, you'll fail!"
"Hmph! We'll see about that. Just you wait..."
After Rose stormed off, Kyte just sighed and sat in a chair. He asked Jol:
"By the way, where's Akina?"
"She went on a mission with Shadow. Since you stole Shadow's mission last time, Akina had to compensate somehow. Dan would've gone, but something came up with Lucy so he had to go with her."
"I see..."
"Also, what did you guys mean? Seduce? What is tha-"
"Really, Jol, you don't have to worry."
"Ehhhh, I want to know!"
"Too bad! You'll know later in life."
"When will that be?"
"When you graduate from high school."
"What?! That's way too long!"
"Like I said, too bad! Plus, you just need to focus on controlling your power for now. Don't worry about those other things."
"I'll still eat ice cream though..."
"Yea, well, that's different."
"Mm...Hmmmm..."
Light sat up from his position, looked around a few times, then sat back in the couch and closed his eyes.
"...Don't they ever do anything else?"
"Yea, but they just like to be lazy. Especially Light."
"I see...I'm gonna go take a shower. Hopefully Akina will be back by then."
"Of course! Usually missions don't take this long though..."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, she left at about three o'clock."
"And?"
"She should've returned an hour or two ago."
"Hmmm...well hopefully nothing has happened. By the way...what rank is Akina?"
"She's a Gold A rank."
"Ah, then I guess she should be fine."
"Just as long as an S rank doesn't appear."
"Huh? But don't S ranks only go for League Leaders?"
"That's what their main objective is. But, don't you remember? Guardians just care about killing us Gifted. If they can take out a powerful Gifted, then they will try."
"I see...alright, cya later Jol. Look after Light all right? Try not to launch him in his sleep."
"Hahaha, I'll try my best!"
Sighing, Kyte left the room. He walked back to his room and opened the door to lay down and rest for a bit, but when he opened the door...
He found Rose laying on his bed, with her hand down South...
They made eye contact, and Rose froze. Kyte slowly backed out and closed the door, trying to get that image out of his head.
Haaaa, well...I really don't have anything better to do. Might as well go out and look for Akina and Shadow.....I'm gonna have to buy new sheets as well.
After mentally sighing, Kyte left the apartment for the second time that day.
