《NEET Re:Quest High School》Chapter 8: The First Gender Battle Quest

Sora prepared himself like any other previous morning since he had arrived on campus. Waking up ahead of others, in particularly for the incoming morning ray of a tiny sunbeam skimming through the windows without courtens, which Sora still feared would injure his sensitive eyes. Sora quickly jumped in the shower and got dressed, then left with haste to avoid all commotion or questions incoming by any males. In addition adhering to his “gentleman” status differently in the morning, by also avoiding all females altogether by being the earliest arriving player inside the classroom halls. On his solitude morning walk over to the classroom Sora spotted Airi loitering around outside his classroom door.
“Morning,” Sora nod to greet her reluctantly of her appearance here, early on. “Our date was not supposed to be due to later,” Sora then gritted his teeth nonchalantly.
“Funny, and morning to you, I just came by to wish you goodluck and forgot to ask out of sheer curiousity where did you guys managed to hide last night for the entire evening?” Airi replied.
“It is a secret, we might need it in the future, after all, who knows?” Sora smugly responded and attempted to head into the classroom in order to dismiss Airi. “Good luck to you too,” Sora added on his way in.
“Care to make it interesting about achieving rank one on the exams?” Airi asked daringly just as Sora had passed her by and made him turn around. “If I win, refrain yourself from the second floor and tell about your fixation on games,” Airi stated her bet.
“Sure, and if you lose, I will just have you moved and transferred to our classroom instead, we can be more affectionate that way, you and I,” Sora smiled back as he stated the punishment voluntarily to be added on his demand instead of random one, plus a reward.
Airi nodded and they both shook hands. Not before long, the entire classroom began to be filled with girls, one by one. Afterwards when all girls had successfully managed to arrive, the boys came in, one by one as well, in order from how courageous or well adapted they were to tread in first, still being a bit scared of this newly co-ed enforced environment. Before the exam started the quest challenge had fully been updated and loaded on Sora’s phone.

Tab 4: “Talk to any girl, must be repeated 10 times, and caps at maximum of 3 times per female individual.”, in progress 4/10.
“Huh,” Sora surprisingly gestured to himself. “I guess the talk to any girl quest is a sub quest and has been pushed down further tabs, almost forgot about it, must be repetitive or smaller experience one,” Sora concluded.
The teacher came in and went ahead to do the usual enrolment call for attendance before he went on to hand the test exams out one by one. All the eleven guys in this classroom fixated on Sora and gave a thumbs up for striving to achieve victory and completion in the quest, also as a gesture speaking of “we will not let you down”. Sora gestured back with a nod and a smile to initiate “let us do it”. A brief moment the teacher commenced a starting signal of “go” or “you may begin now” to start the exams.
Sora let himself to envision a landscape within a dreamlike gaming setting, where he was back to his usual self, a character within a game. A new few quests popped up, “Multiple Choice”, “Mathematics”, “English”, “History”, “Literature”, “Science Subjects”, and he saw his inner character selecting one at a time, then travelling to each dungeon and completing them. Sora started with the “Multiple Choice” one and left “Mathematics” his favorite to be the last one, as the knowledge of Mathematics is helpful and can be a powerful tool in games. It may be used in ways such as calculating the drop chance, combo rate, milliseconds timeframes to break and setup, predict or a multitude of many other things into cracking the system game code and making the most of a game and its rules. In the final dungeon, the boss awaited him and it had a higher level than he had originally thought of, “Secondary University Level Mathematical Equation”.

“What is this question doing here?” Sora laughed quietly and proceeded with scribbling away and resume his attack.
The attack pattern and objective to achieve was clear, a few tricks here and there and kiting the problem into a large expanded room allowed it to be whittled down more easily. Just as the clock ticked for the passing of the exam, Sora had finished the mathematical problem and successfully had defeated the dungeon boss, putting a dent in its armor. In addition at the same time had briefed through his previous answers in prior of taking up the boss as it required a more substantial amount of time to beat.
Outside in the corridor a lot of loud sighs were heard aloud and Sora managed to spot and reach a hold of Negi and Kazuya after the exams had finished.
“Man that last problem was really something!” Negi complained.
“I honestly struggled a few questions earlier, that one just put me in an entirely different loop, it was out of my league for sure!” Kazuya agreed with Negi’s complaint. “How did it go for you?” Kazuya turned to ask Sora.
Lost in thought, Sora had left the classroom with a smile and in deep thought still thinking about the problem.
“Ah, sorry, yeah, it went kind of well, and the last question was really a blast!” Sora kept smiling on through.
“Did you not hear what we said?” Negi inquired.
“Yeah, you both complained in unison about the last mathematical problem, right? I thought it was delightful,” Sora answered immediately.
Negi and Kazuya both sighed with painted and perplexed faces as if to imply “I do not know if this guy is a genius or just a simpleton at times”. A succinct moment after the sigh from the two had just passed, Airi emerged from behind and made both Negi and Kazuya cower behind Sora.
“What do you mean delightful? That was at least a secondary university level mathematical problem!” Airi fussed.
“It gave me some hardships, but like any dungeon boss, if you whittle it down bit by bit, you will eventually beat it, will you not?” Sora explained his previous answer to appease and make amends of Airi’s fuss.
“You mean you beat it? I mean solved it. How do you make everything around you to be a game?” Airi persistently kept on questioning.
Sora waved sideways with his index finger as to indicate “no further questioning hence I will give no more answers”.
“Remember our bet? I will answer any questions if you manage to beat me first. We will just have to wait and see when our test results return electronically” Sora grinned with his signature happy-go-lucky face gesture he always has in the pursuit of quests and games.
“We will just have to see then,” Airi nodded unpleasantly of Sora’s answer.
All four of them waited in the corridor, with Kazuya and Negi leaning to the right of Sora with a small distance, hence Airi lingered on standing straight and ticking her index finger on her right arm as her arms were crossed. On the other hand Sora just leaned casually and closed his eyes to take and think himself back about the dungeons he had just slain, in furtherance of reminiscing his journey in there for the cause of completed yet another quest which had Sora brimming with underlined excitement.
All four phones began to buzz and both Sora and Airi brought them up in a swift unison simultaneously together and pressed tab to check the quest screen tabs for which one had been victorious, the guys or the girls, Airi and Sora.

Fateless: The Silver Lining
It has been ten years of peace for the Union since the end of the great war with the eastern barbarian tribes, yet in the cold north of the Union's land, a new threat is looming. This time, an ambitious Lord is seeking to restore the yore pride of his kin, forcing the weakened Union into yet another unwanted war, as he ramps up the ranks of his army with thieves, murderers and mercenaries.* * *The temperature inside the forge was nearly twice as high as the one outside. A black-haired girl hammered a steel ingot into the shape of a blade. The heat of the steam was draining her stamina away, but her focus remained sharp as her sweat streamed down her face. Hit after hit, for hours, the sound of the hammering steel followed the rhythm of her breathing. Exhausted, she placed the blade into the water and wiped the sweat off her face using a drenched rag. Why are they screaming? Vatra dipped the rag back in the water, twisted it, and approached the window. Her mouth opened as her world shattered again into the living nightmare she had wilfully tried to forget. She bit her lips; it wasn’t a dream. The pulse of her heart rose. A cold sweat prickled her back. A mother was running, and a child was screaming. A torrent of smoke was emerging from the roof of her neighbour. Vatra’s eyes blinked. The mother lay on the ground, a spear through her back. A torch circled in the air and landed on the roof of her workshop. In the distance, a man wearing a banner well known to the world… Fateless is a philosophical medieval dark low fantasy centered on war, militaristic campaigns and geopolitical conflicts between multiple empires. This story follows the fate of Vatra, a former slave from the eastern Nar Empire who was raised in a culture far away from her own, forced into warfare against her will, and the fate of Lanaya, an ambitious half-angel exiled from her home whose existence is seen as heresy. As they wished for peace, both chose a path opposed to one another until their fate crossed. In this story where war dictates the law, love strikes them as a poisoned balm to which they grasp for with all their might, as it is in the darkest of times that the smallest flames may burn the brightest. * * * Tome 1 already completed and available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fateless-Silver-Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot/dp/B09LGSH1KK Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot-100547579135891/ I will publish 1 chapter per week (sometimes 2 if the chapters are too short for my liking).
