Baal PoV
I woke up the next morning ready. First thing to see was Dok. He was probably still in Aurora and not in his world so I ran down and found him in the library.
Baal: Dok
He flinched before looking back.
Dok: Y-yes.
Baal: Calm down. I was wondering, do you have any truly trustworthy craftsmen friends?
Dok: Um ya. I'm in a guild with some co-workers all of them have unique crafting jobs. Why?
Baal: To open up trade with the rest of the kingdom I need to build an outpost or town in the forest and make it safer for travel. I need skilled workers.
Dok: I'll see if they can come.
Baal: Also I want you to study and make a magic circle for the spell in this journal.
I hand him the book and he looks at it nonchalantly.
Dok: Journal?? Why would a journal have a spell in it.
Baal: Read it and find out.
He blinked a few time before flipping the book open. I have long since known of Dok’s Quick reading skill. He can memorize most books quickly within the hour but books he likes he takes his time.
Skimming through the book he had a rather bored expression. The more he read, the more sweat started to appear on his forehead. The moment he finished the journal part and flipped to the calculation pages, he froze. A few seconds he read, then looked into empty space before he started to sweat bullets.
Dok: Baal do you know how much making me draw this circle would change this world?
His voices was shaky.
Baal: Change it? I was just interested in it so I can make friendly humans into demons. Maybe some trustworthy foreigners as well.
He grabbed a paper and started to write something down.
Dok: Here look at this. Foreigners get things known as quests. They range from basic tasks, to killing a dragon for all I know. They rank between F and A but there are possibly higher level ranks. Now look at the quest I gained.
He slides the paper over and I pick it up.
Quest: Demonify
The Lord of Galton and Demon Prince has requested you to research a spell found in an ancient journal from a long dead demon cultist. You are to study their spell and create a Magic circle with the completed spell.
Difficulty A
Requirements: Magic Circle Drawing (intermediate 5+), high familiarity with Baal, he asks you personally.
Requirement for success: Complete the circle, properly test it and succeed in turning a human into a demon.
Failure: Someone against demons finds out before the spell is properly tested, and will not create abominations.
Reward: Unlocks Demons, Celestial and Monster races under the command of Baal (Imp, Cupid, Goblin, demon/holy fox and rabbit).
Baal: A rank?
Dok: Yep.
Baal: So what?
Dok: Eh?
Baal: Let me put it like this I don't care about this A rank whatever. It's not like I will allow every single foreigner who comes sucking up to me to become a demon, celestial or monster race. That would open to many doors to become powerful to a demons level. In other words you’re doing it or I will be taking you every morning to help out the farmers.
(Forced accept baby)
Doks head dropped down defeated.
Dok: Fine...but I don't know when it will be done.

Baal: Good start with your guild. Then begin on the quest.
I start walking out while I see Dok talking to himself without making a sound.
As I reach the door, I hear Dok calling.
Dok: Baal, my guild mates will be here in 2 weeks.
I turn and nod to him before leaving and heading straight to train my gunless circle spell casting.
Dok PoV
Dok: DAMN~~~IT~~~
It was all I could scream to myself in my head. With my head against the books resting on my head on its cover.
???: You alright Dok? You got quiet all of a sudden
Dok: It's fine Fist. Though Baal forced an A rank quest on me. Besides the D rank I already have for him, to teach the farmers how to farm productively, I'm tired.
MadFist, or Fist as our guild mates call him, is the guildmaster. As strange as it sounds his job is farmer. Let me go ahead and say he would put to shame any warriors class. Mixed Martial artists and two time boxing champ, this 40 year old man whose level is 150, can beat down someone nearly 100 levels above him because of the unorthodox training he does. He does all farm work like it is in a gym and to top it off his secondary class is monster tamer. I once saw him tame a monster, it wasn't pretty. The most surprising fact is that he works with me in a programmer company to fix software for computers.
I still haven't chosen my secondary job mainly because Inventor is a class that forces you to learn all crafting trades. I'm not particularly strong but am smart thanks to all the books I've read and written. Also all the research I've done helps quite a bit.
My current collection of books on magic circles would make any mage drool. At the start I researched different methods to using magic circles but now I am making entire books that hold the calculations and glyphs as well as the circle itself in it. Most of the spells are normal spells you find anywhere, but the result of their power is far beyond. The circles have gotten tiny. All basic level spell can be made as small as the palm of the hand while an intermediate would be around the size of a person's torso.
Fist: A RANK!! Dude that’s epic and you're not even level 100 right?
Dok: Of course I am. I’m level 110. I’m forced to live in the castle and just to reach outside I need to fight my way out though the minions do a lot of the killing so I get little exp. I’ve been able to improve my mech arm quite a bit. It looks like a backpack when on standby and now has two arms.
???: You and your obsession with mechs. Do you plan to make a full set of armor or some giant robot?
Dok: That doesn’t sound bad, I’ll think about it Rava. It’s hard though, with my constant research of the magic Baal has me on I have little time to work on it.
Rava is a female dwarf and as a craftsman you can obviously guess she is a blacksmith. Though she is a craftsman I fear for my life if I ever have to fight her when she has a hammer in her hands. She is the vice leader.
Dok: If I knew a bit of dwarven blacksmithing it might go faster.
Rava: Forget it Dok. I wont teach you it just so you can change this fantasy game into a sci-fi.
Dok: ...The “game” will eventually reach that point anyway by itself. Damn I’ve already stopped thinking of this place as a game thanks to Baal
Fist: Hey Dok what's that A rank quest for. What do you need to do?
Dok: Sorry dont know if I can say it. It requires for me to stay tight lipped but I don't know to what extent. If you arrive before it’s done I can talk with Baal about telling you.
Fist: Fair enough. I’ll be going and I’ll take up the farm work. The outpost you can leave to Paul and the others.
Dok: Ok I need to get this done. Please get everyone here I feel exhausted being handed so much work.
They all laugh and the guild chat closes. I pick up the book and open up to the complex spell writing on the back. I sigh as I read the high level info. I’m sure anyone who doesn’t have at least a degree in programming wouldn’t be able to read this. I flip from one page to the next, reading carefully each page. If I had to say it, this would probably rank as the most complex equation in the world which isn’t surprising considering it can change someones race.
Man, the first batch of test circles will be humungous. I’ll need to spend a lot of time getting it down to a reasonable size. I’ll have my assistant take all my books and store them on the third floor since they are regarded as rare books thanks to its content, I also have them bring stacks of paper.I begin one page at a time, trying to decipher this spell and draw its working from the formulas.
1 week later
It has been a tiresome week. My progress with the spell...5-8% done maybe. It’s a pain in the ass, I can’t wait for my guild to arrive. I can pull a few of them over here and have them help. I’ve always been better at hardware stuff, though I’m no slouch to software, it isn’t compared to a few of them. The few breaks I take I stay on a balcony just outside the library which is safe from demon beasts. Baal has been training a lot. He seems he wants to train his ability to use just one circle. He improves greatly especially after he gets my updated books, which are now specialized for a specific spell each like normal spell books.
It was interesting to see how fast he improved. He learned how to do bigram circles without his gun. Even with two spells it has significant power to it.
As I was was heading into the library again I got a call from outside. Every capsule has a mic so those outside can contact the player.
???: Hey Mat, get up. You have to see it. Something huge is going on.
It was my little sister. It was strange that she would come to wake me from the game since she has ignored me most of the time.
I log out after entering the library and walk into the living room.
Dok: What’s going on?
Dad: Come here son, it’s from that game you play.
I sit down and look at the screen. As soon as my eyes hit the screen my mouth drops. Standing there was Vil’cri with Lilian and the others behind him. I see them run away as soon as Vil’cri started to change. Moments later I heard him call himself the grim reaper.
Dok: Vil’cri!
Mom: What was that son?
Dok: That skeleton. I met him. Lilian and the others ran.
Sister: Who are they?
I explained how I know them and who they were, and it left all of them slack jawed.
Dad: You...sure met some...incredible people son.
Dok: Ya. I’m currently staying in the demon princes castle.
When I looked at my sister her eyes were sparkling.
Sis: Is he hot?!
Dok: If you start playing you decide.
I turn to the tv and pay attention while I hear her beg my parents for a capsule.
Soon the fighting started after Lucifer transformed. In my head I wasn’t even considering this a fight. It was a clash of two natural forces. They battle raged for half an hour and it was finally done and we received the message from Crono. I quickly returned to the game to see how much damage had occurred.
Baal PoV
It’s been a week since I handed Dok the book to research. I’ve been focusing on the training I had neglected. It was intense thanks to all the weights. I was forced to spar against 1 bulky ogre and 2 smaller variants. The big guy was like a real monster and could send me flying. He wielded a huge two-handed sword in one hand like it was nothing as well as a large tower shield. The smaller ones were like warriors, one with a longsword and kite shield, and the other a two-handed sword. They were merciless just like how Rachet told them to be.
Rachet said this was the best kind of training because it would force me to adapt fast and cast spells, while fight faster. Let me say these guys are skilled, scary skilled. With me restrained they can match me when they use coordinated attacks. I was allowed only my circle spells and my fists. No weapons especially not my gun. This was so I could learn to use my spells better and faster without them. Thanks to that I learned how to make invisible delayed spells that stay hidden until a large circle activates them. I can do Bigram circles without my gun and they have a lot of strength.
At the last day of the week I was on my break and was walking around town when I noticed a large number of foreigners vanishing. I started to feel something bad was going to happen. I quickly ran back to the castle and armed myself. It’s a good thing I did cause not a moment later it felt like the whole planet began shaking. The ground started to split so I took flight and while I was flying over the city I noticed the growing clouds. Far from the town I saw them. Large spinning clouds touched the ground and began tearing the ground apart. Lightning started to rain down like the rain itself. The ground below everyone's feet shook violently and began splitting. I flew over my town and pulled the gun out. I loaded normal spells and started to fire off the earth spell [Earth Shield]. I imaged the spell horizontal to the ground and shot them near the large cracks and the large walls of earth covered the holes. Soon the clouds also covered the town and began raining on the town.
From below many of the guards began sending barrier spells up and covering the city filling it with domes of light or earth but after a few strikes they began to crumble.
Baal: What do I do!!!
Suddenly my vision goes blank and an image appears in my mind. A magic circle and within it, six other circles. One for each of the elements. A chant appeared in my head. Instinctively I knew this spell would save many people.
I pull out the spell circle bullets and load them into the gun. Each spell had a bullet without an actual spell but just the element. I turned down and fired the six spells and they formed around the spot they landed. I flew down and just as the last one reached the ground I landed and with both hands slamming the ground a large circle encased them.
The Six Gods of Nature. Please heed my call. Protect nature and the world with your gentle hands. Walk this land as you have once walked, protect your children that you have watched over since the beginning [Nature's Call]
One by one the six circles lit up with the largest circle lighting up last. These pillars of light rose up into the sky and caused the clouds to part.
I felt my strength leave my body, my mana, stamina and life were all drained to feed the spell.
The moment an incredible magic circle that covered the sky appeared, sky figures appeared within the six circles. I was facing the circle with light magic. Valeria stood there with a frown.
Valeria: You are to reckless Baal. Know this I will be punishing you later. Everyone let us quickly work, each of you head to your realms and protect your followers. Also please sustain yourselves so as not to burden Baal more than he has.
???: A boy who has the courage to use a spell that puts him at the brink of death to save others, it would be a waste to let him die.
I heard a voice from behind and with the little strength I had I moved my head to look back to see a huge tan man with bulging muscles. A small ball of mana formed in his hand and he then drops it into the circle which grew bright and the burden on my body dropped. The other six did the same and I felt my body relax and I fell to the ground.
Nature’s Call
A call from a servant of the God of Life and Death. This spell brings to your world the six great gods of nature to protect the world from nature’s destruction.
Life reduced to 1%, for 2 year Max HP reduced by 50%
Mana completely Drained, for 2 years Max MP reduced by 70%
Stamina completely Drained, for 2 years max stamina reduced by 50%

For 2 year all stats reduced by 25%
Your gun has broken from the strainDue to to the gods providing mana to sustain the spell, you have regained 10% of your health and left critical condition.
Rebound reduced by 20%
As I finish reading the message I felt my conscience fade.
Valeria PoV
Valeria: This boy really! Where did he learn this spell. I bet Crono has a hand in this. Only someone affiliated to him should have this and that would only be Vil’cri and Thanatos. Anyway what's done is done. I should heal him.
I send a spell towards Baal that will heal him and increase his regeneration of mana and stamina. Then I look up and with a wave of my hand a large barrier of light covers the enter city including its farms.
Valeria: We must hurry. The natural disasters caused by those two is large. We must hurry, put up a barrier around all towns in each of your realms keep casualties to a minimum.
Everyone nodded and looked up towards the sky and soon we were all flying up and through my barrier which were effectively stopping the disasters as it isolated the town above and below ground. As we reached past the barrier we all turned one way and flew each into our own direction leaving behind a trail of light that trailed behind us from the spell that kept us here.
I flew over the forest, and over all the towns I pass I left a barrier before continuing. I circled over all my realms of influence and soon reached Hasona. As I arrive I see it’s been devastated having taken massive damage. I put up a barrier and race off to a few isolated villages. I feared for what would become of the Mortal world. With so many suffering I wouldn’t be surprised if many moved and left. Even if we protect the towns many kingdoms will probably fall and many more will rise. I fear those ambitious Foreigners will take advantage of the situation. Hasona looked finished. It will take months to repair.
I close my eyes and project my thoughts to Michel.
Valeria: Michel.
Michel: Goddess what can I do! The city is in chaos!
Valeria: Calm down. I have already created a barrier that is protecting the city.
Michel: You did?! But are you doing so from the heavens? Does that not take a large amount of power?
Valeria: Baal summoned me and the other 5. I don't know how he learned the spell to do so. Anyway, have all the paladins calm the people saying that I have covered the city with a barrier.
Michel: Yes my goddess
I cut my connection and contact all the priests that are the head of each church in all the cities and say the same thing. Soon I finish covering all the cities, towns and villages within my realm and return to Galton. As I land I see many people around Baal who was sitting and talking while swaying dizzily.
Valeria: Please give Baal some space. He cast a spell that took a lot out of him.
As everyone looked at me, everyone but the high ranking members such as Rachet, Lona and the Ogres weren’t awestruck by my holy aura. I quickly place an illusion making my hair black and hiding my aura making a temporary human form. This snapped them out of their daze. I walked up to Baal with a blank expression.
*Slap*
Valeria: That is for doing something so stupid like summoning all six of us.
Baal: Ah...sorry. The spell...just appeared...in my head...and i did it...without thinking.
Valeria: Yes I get it. CRONO!! YOU OLD BASTARD DON'T PUT BAAL IN DANGER LIKE THIS!!!.
Crono: Hohoho Don’t be so mean Valeria.
An old man suddenly appeared behind Valeria out of thin air.
(ppl who are going to complain he is the fucking strongest god as well as the oldest he can come down if he damn wants to since he knows Magic Circle formation and even stronger stuff) (sshhhhh)
Valeria: What's with giving him that spell and doesn’t it have to be a servant of yours to gain that spell?!
I was yelling very loudly while he just smiled.
Crono: Valeria do you know what titles Baal holds?
Valeria: Titles? No i didn’t know he had titles like Lilian.
Crono: Of course, he is a demon, so you wouldn’t know. They are Demon Knight of Honor and Valor and Guardian of Death.
My mouth opened and closed as I try to talk but I knew very well what this meant. Guardian of Death is a title Crono gives to someone who fits as a servant to his service.
Valeria: Still it was reckless to do that.
Crono: Still I need something to take the attention of the Gods away from this.
*snap*
Snapping his fingers a large magic circle appeared above the castle and then soon vanished.
Valeria: What was that teleportation spell. What did you bring here.
Crono: …Soul Reaper belongs to his heir and I only have one other servant in all the realms. It will heal him faster as well. Kids please take Baal to the throne room he will feel better inside his dungeon.
No one questioned the old god and took him inside. As soon as they left, my form returned to normal and all the other 5 gods of nature arrive.
???: Old man why are you here.
Crono: Oh you kids are finally here. Let me quickly say this, none of you are to say a word of Soul Reaper’s location. Am I understood.
Everyone nodded without needing explanation. Him saying that was all they needed.
(A.N. I will not give the other gods name yet i’ll just refer to them by element)
Crono: Valeria, you should stay here a bit longer to tell Baal that Lilian is safe so he doesn’t recklessly jump into the demon world in his extremely weakened state..
Air: Crono why did you give the boy the Soul Reaper. It’s even stronger than it was originally with Vil’cri’s Divinity inside it.
Crono: It’s because it’s inside there that I need to give it to Baal. He will not be able to reach Divine rank without it. Unless Gods attack Baal and that isn’t happening unless Thadius is stupid enough to send them through the teleportation circle in the Upper world.
Dark: How will the boy control the power in the Scythe?
Crono: He can barely tap into its power at full strength as he is. It will be a long time before he uses it to its full potential. Valeria tell him Lilian is ok and tell him to prepare. In 5 years this world will be in war. The other creatures that hold my curse will spring out by that time. Powerful kingdoms of animals and monsters. Baal needs to prepare and unite the Demon race here in the Mortal world. The Relona kingdom is finished, the people are in chaos and will probably revolt and destruction will follow for the next few years before stability returns to this world. By then the new kingdoms will have raised including foreigner kingdoms. Baal needs to be ready for them. He needs to gather his own allies and raise a kingdom himself lest he fall.
I nod.
Crono: Good you five, please return to the Upperworld. Tell no one, not even Thadius here. This will give you immunity to him.
A light spread over all of us and after that, the five vanished, turning into small particles of light and the 5 magic circles that represent them stopped glowing.
Valeria: You told me about this world. Was this world really made for such a shallow reason.
Crono: Yes, but now it will be a real world where its people think and live with their own free wills. Vil’cri guaranteed that with his fight.
Valeria: Will baal be alright. The rebound to this spell aren’t nice you know.
Crono: Soul Reaper will speed his recovery. I think in one year he should be back on his feet.
Valeria: ...I shall go now. Please tread carefully, this will most likely anger Thadius greatly if he found out.
Crono: I don’t fear that little man. I shall see you another time my dear. I need to speak with someone before I return to the Upper world.
The old man vanished like mist. I could only sigh deeply and look up at the castle. It was glowing between the cracks as it repaired itself as well as the walls that fell. I flew up to the throne room. Inside was all the kids and Baal sitting on the throne that was giving off a slight glow.
Valeria: How do you feel.
Baal: Horrible, but better than before. Seems the core is reacting to my weakened state.
He pulled out his gun and looked with a sad expression.
Baal: My gun broke due to the rebound.
Rachet: Not surprising there. You shot six Circle spell bullets. Five of them left you without that gun for a week to fire all of six would obviously cause much more massive damage.
Lona: Don’t say that so calmly.
Baal: No he is right.
I felt a bit of pity for Baal. The gun was made from his body. Until he ranks up it won’t be repaired since the material is his own body.
Baal: Anyway can you tell me what that is.
He points at the center of the room. Stuck in the ground straight up a black staff that radiated power beyond anything anyone will ever find in this world. The strongest weapon, the Soul Reaper.
Valeria: That is Soul Reaper. The weapon of the Grim Reaper Vil’cri.
Rachet: Vil...YOU’RE JOKING RIGHT!! That man is a Lich not a Grim reaper.
Valeria: Every powerful being has a disguised form. No great being can remain in their true form forever. Demons gain human transformations after Royal rank such as yourself. A few special cases like Lona don’t since your form is already very human like and doesn’t require it. Gods as well when in the mortal world require a human form to walk around hiding their presence.
Rachet: Then...What happened to Lilian.
Baal: What's that about Lilian.
Valeria: Vil’cri is the Lich that went with Lilian to the Underworld. He died fighting your father and protecting Lilian letting her run away.
Everyone calmed down but sweat covered everyones face as they looked at Baal who showed a face of fear. Fear that his sister may die.
Valeria: Before you try anything stupid let me tell you Baal. Lilian didn’t have a single hair on her head touched, she ran away safely without any demons going after her because Vil’cri stopped them all.
I noticed him calm down.
Valeria: Now then. This staff is the scythe of the Grim Reaper. It can only be heard by him or his heir, and Vil’cri chose you Baal. As the Guardian of Death, you are a servant of Crono, the God of Life, Death and Evolution as such this scythe now belongs to you.
I said this in an firm tone. He was listening intently looking from me to the staff. As I finish talking, he pushed himself onto his shaky legs and using his own scythe he walked over to the staff and grabbed it. The moment he touched it, black flames spread from it and started to climb onto his body, but he didn’t yell so it wasn’t hurting him. The black flame covered him and from what I saw as I stood near him all his weapons were consumed by the flames and were absorbed into the staff. When the flames died down all that was left was Baal and the staff. Slowly Baal’s miasma leaked from his body.
Baal: It restored my ability to make miasma...and it absorbed my weapons.
???: That is not so master. I merged with them.
From nowhere a voice was heard. Everyone grew tense as they heard it.
Baal: You are alive.
???: I have always been alive just like all those weapons you held, Master. All weapons made from your body hold fragmented conscience. As I am created by a great being, then was filled with his power I was already bordering full conscience your weapons filled in the remaining pieces and gave birth to me.
Valeria: An ego. Soul Reaper gained an Ego.
???: I did Goddess.
Baal: What happened to my other weapons?
???: I change my form into them, it also includes my late masters ancient tome of necromancy.
Baal: Please seal that form please. I do not wish to have my hands on an object that degrades the dead.
???: As you wish. Master can you please name me i have lacked that since I was created, and have only been called by the name of the weapon i am.
Baal: ...Soul then. I’m tired so I can’t think of anything better.
Soul: Soul is fine.
Baal: Can you take the form of a gun.
Soul: I can but it will still be broken just like it was.
Baal: It’s fine.
(Yes ppl i took the lazy man’s route out)
The Staff was instantly covered in black flames and it shrank until it was in the shape of the gun.
Baal: I’m going to bed. I feel tired, are you going to stay here Valeria? We have quite a few rooms to spare.
Valeria: I have to go. First though, I need to give you a warning from Crono. In about 5 years, other creatures that hold his curse like you will begin to rise and form their own kingdoms. He said you should unite all the demon race and make your own kingdom.
Baal: What about the Relona Kingdom?
Valeria: Because of the disaster it’s in such a bad situation that it would be easy to say most of the kingdoms today are doomed to fall from revolts if the kings aren’t wise enough.
Baal: ...How are all the paladins.
Valeria: I reached the city fast enough to divert a lot of damage but it was very destroyed, the paladins are strong enough to survive but I don't know about the people.
Baal: My city isn’t that damaged but I wish I could help them but with the distance..
Dok: If we could teleport there we could provide support.
No one spoke and just looked at Dok.
Baal: I will be going. It was nice to speak with you and I will heed the warning. If you could help me find the other demons it would help.
I nod and finally released my hold in the spell and allowed my body to fade.
Baal PoV
I walked to bed and fell in. I pulled the gun out. It didn’t talk as I looked at the glowing glyphs on its body before putting it away. I reopened the message I got after Soul bound himself to me.
The Demon weapon Soul Reaper has bound itself to you.Due to being bound with the Soul Reaper you gain the following.
Penalty to miasma has been removed
All other penalties have been reduced by half and will only take 1 year to recoverSoul “the Soul Reaper”
The weapon of the Grim Reaper. The strongest weapon in the world capable of attack the soul of its targets. A weapon filled with divinity of the gods. This weapon is feared by all creatures, be them Gods, Demons and Mortals. It is bound to the Guardian of Death Baal.
This weapon has recently gained life after fusing with several weapons. It has the ability to transform into weapons that make it up.
Staff
Scythe
Dual Sickle
Chain Sickle
Gun
Necromancers Tome (Sealed)
Baal: Strongest weapon and yet I can't even feel power from it or myself. I really don’t deserve this weapon.
I turn in my bed after putting it away and fall asleep only waking up when Lily crawled into bed and hugged me.

8 232An Otherworldly Tale: The Apocalypse/A School Saga
The origin story of The god and The Demon. While technically the third installment I've written, and first that I've ever shared, it is chronologically the first saga. An apocalypse, the school saga. "Do you like limes? I do. Quite a lot. They are the sweetest dessert I can think of. And I love my desserts. As it always has been." Evan said, upon being asked his favorite thing in the world. "The best lime comes from a world destroyed. An apocolyptic world. That is the only place you can find sweet limes. Or, at least, limes as sweet as the one I love so very much." Evan said, upon being asked where to find sweet limes.
