We have stayed the time needed for the entire valley to purify. At this time we are traveling east because there is supposed to be a large plane after crossing the mountain range and there is supposed to be a trading village there.
I was sitting on Plums back looking back why we traveled at a relaxed pace. In the distance you could see the dome of light which make a huge dome wall all around the valley.
Lilian: I wonder if they will be safe?
Jesse: Don't worry the place is safe and the town will grow a lot since they can now hunt.
Vil'cri: They should still be wary. Once someone finds that place it could cause a stir with royal demons going there. Like you saw I could force my way in.
Lilian: Its not like someone will blame them for causing it right?
Vil'cri: I don't believe they would. The only ones capable of doing to this world live in the two other realms.
I continued watching the very tall dome as it was hidden away by the mountains.
From then on we sped up but took short breaks and made safe zones as we traveled, though much smaller, before leaving again. Our plan was to make safe zones every 3 km so that traders and travelers can take their wares to the valley.
Its about 2 days of travel before we exited the forest. What we find is a barren wasteland devoid of life in any form. All we have to guide us is the poorly beaten dirt road.
Aiden: Wow...I at least thought their would be grass.
Vil'cri: Life here is most likely underground. Sandworms, demon moles, other rodents as well. Let me say they are much more dangerous then the forest dwellers.
Before we headed out we wanted to check them out so I created a safe zone we could retreat to if needed. The only thing that changed in he surroundings was that the black ground turned brown.
The space was actually pretty wide being 100 meters wide it was strange a large neutralized zone like this to not be attacked. We leave following the road while staying on alert.
My five elites are flying along next to Plum who is hopping at high speeds while KumI wrapped herself in winds and cuts through the air. It was quiet except for the sound of the beating of the feet and wings.
Vil'cri: I don't like it.
Lilian: What?
Vil'cri: Nothing is attacking. All the tundras dwellers are viciously territorial.
Lilian: Any ideas why we aren't attacked.
Vil'cri: ...They could be attacking the town. That is the only thing I can think of.
Everyone hears him and pale. I beats of the feet get much more intense as Plum jumps closer to the ground while going further.
For half the day we traveled before I had everyone rest. They all pushed themselves. Inside a newly made safe zone I made a fire with gathered wood we got from the forest and made food. I then took out a lot of pelts from animals we killed before exiting the forest.
Pulling a thin wooden needle and string I coated it in mana so I could pierce the hides and began to quickly stitch up fur blankets. In an hour I had the five kids with blanks and they were all sleeping on top of Plum or Kumi's tails. I finished a blanket for myself and grab more pelts.
Vil'cri: I don't need it child. I'm an undead, I don't sleep or get cold.

Lilian: Have you always been so cold to others. When you were alive as well?
Vil'cri: ...No. When I was alive I was court mage to a dead human kingdom back during the celestial wars. My power equaled archangels and greater higher demons. I was protecting the capital as well as my wife and kids. That was when the battle began. Right in the city. The capital fell and while I protected my family the royal family died. I couldn't care less at that time. When I was fighting a demon appeared behind my family and killed them silently. By the time I realized they were dead and the demon was laughing at my screams as I cried. It was at that moment that I became a necromancer as well as having my heart frozen over. The demons and angels that were around me noticed the change. In my rage I absorbed a tremendous amount of the demons miasma and gained lesser god ranked strength. That night was known for its screams of terror as the war wasn't demons fight angels. It was them fighting me. That day I killed 90% of both sides but I died by the hands of the greater gods and Divine demons present. A few days after my death my corrupted mana made my body rot and resurrected me as a lesser Lich which is a royal demon. The demons found me and put me in their service to fight for them. In the beginning I fought and caused the balance to tilt in most battles to our side. But the moment I reached peak rank in the royal rank I was always the only one to leave the battlefield. I killed all of them. Be them Divine Demons or Greater Gods. Today with the wars over and 2000 years having passed my rage has subsided for the most part but I still see demons as scum but feel no hatred towards humans or the demons that are born into the mortals world unlike other Lich.
Lilian: ...Isn't lonely to live so long like that?
Vil'cri: Of course. I've wished for death for so long I can't remember when I started asking for it but my body reacts on its own against a challenger. Its a curse placed on all demons. To fight all challenges. Live and die fighting.
Lilian: ...
I couldn't respond to his story. I watched as he walked to the edge of the barrier and touched it. Even from where I was I could see the immense amount of miasma that was being sucked out of his body. Even without touching the barrier it drained him of his life yet he doesn't die. The other demon weren't lie this maybe because they couldn't produce miasma to be drained of.
In my eyes I could only look at him with pity, living such a cold life. To wish for death but have no one give it to you.
I did not want him to see me looking with pity in my eyes so I lay down on Plums side and sleep.
Its been 2 days since and we are still traveling over the tundra. We haven't encouraged a single life since we came here nor have we reached the town yet. We were getting on edge as we traveled but at noon exactly we spotted the village after climbing a low hill. Like we expected, unfortunately, the town was being attacked by not only demon beasts but large demons as well.
Vil'cri: This is bad.
Lilian: I know we need to help them.
Before I could try and move he was in front of all of us leaking a bit of killing intent.

Vil'cri: This isn't an army you 8 can beat. Its Lucifers royal army and leading them is most likely a peak rank royal demon who is controlling these demon beasts.
Lilian: But why are they attacking their own people.
???: Obviously to find you rats.
The voice came from above and it was full of arrogance and rage.
???: Vil'cri. I'm quite interested to know how you returned to my world. I do very well remember exiling you.
Vil'cri: Lucifer! Why are you here.
Lucifer: Why? To welcome you back here of course then kill you while crushing one bone after another before destroying your soul.
The man had long red wings spread out as he landed. With two long horns curving up and around his head he stood their casually. Though Vil'crI was surprised his anxious tone vanished quite quickly and was replaced by his calm demeanor once more but being close to him I could feel the boiling killing intent within him.
After gaining the title Angel of Love I gained the ability to feel others emotions as long as I can see them.
Vil'crI pulled out an old black book with many ancient glyphs written all over the cover and were glowing faintly.
Lucife: Are you going to fight me. A stagnated royal demon who has only ever killed lesser gods during the war. Weakling you will never reach Divine rank.
Vil'cri: Lilian, Kids, this is where we part. Go to another village someplace and do what you will. I will stall Lucifer.
Lucifer: You? Stall me. HAHAHA you an even hold your own with my children.
Vil'cri: About your children. They are all weak I've held back countless times for them to "beat" me. Well I'm not sure about your exiled son though. I didn't get the pleasure of meeting him before coming here but I'm sure a Tengu will reach Divine rank without even needing to kill gods.
Lucifers face distorted when he heard. He had gained a great hate towards Baal because he did not die after being exiled.
Lucifer: You...never mention that abomination in front of me. Also...that girl feels weird. I feel demon mana in her but only a tiny bit. The rest is holy angelic power.
Vil’cri: Go before he focuses on you kids.
Before we could say anything Plum turned and jumped north and KumI grabbed all five of the elites and ran behind Plum as fast as they could with the 6 of us trying to look back. I had tears in my eyes as I watch him vanish the greater the distance we got. He was someone that shined brighter than more holy creatures. Before we left I saw in him. In his soul, it was filled with happiness. Happiness to met us, happiness that we are changing this world for the better, happiness that he can save someone with his power and die saving them something he couldn’t with his wife and kids he will do with us. He called me by name instead of girl. Seeing the happiness that mented his frozen heart I couldn’t help smiling and crying at the same time.

Lucifer: Why did you make them leave. They will be hunted by my army anyway.
Vil’cri: What army.
I gesture behind him. What stood was a scene of carnage with not a single soul from the demon lords army alive. Only those surviving villagers stood in the burning blood soaked ground.
Lucifer: When...did...this happen?
Vil’cri: Tell me Lucifer just to refresh my memories. What happened to all the Divine Demons after the war.
Lucifer: ...I found and killed each one extracting their divinity. There are no Divine Demons left but me. All that remain are stagnated peak rank royal demons like yourself who can’t match me.
Vil’cri: …
I started to chuckle quietly and soon it was a full blown laughter. My deep voice echoed through the tundra creating a foreboding feeling of dread in the air.
Vil’cri: Did you now. Then the many Divine Demons I met over these last 2000 years were figments of my imagination.
I loved the look on Lucifer’s face as his eyes grew wide.
Vil’cri: Ah that face is nice. Its truly refreshing seeing you as pathetic as you were once before you killed ArchAngel Michael and Ranked up to Royal Demon. You created quite an annoying facade after that to hide your pathetic side. Ah I still remember seeing Thadius and Michael cast that power sealing spell on you. You are still affected right. A spell that makes it impossible for you to remain in your true from for more than an hour.
Lucifer: I don’t need more than an hour to finish of trash. I dont even need my true form to fight any remaining demon.
Vil’cri: Is that so. Oh one thing I found out after we came to the demon world and the girl ranked up. She currently wields Michael’s Holy Reaper. Did you know it fused with her and took her old body and is now hers.
On Lucifer’s face for the first time in 2000 years sweat began to appear on his face. Sweat of fear, sweat of dread.
He instantly turned towards the direction Lilian had run but was instantly slammed on the side of his face by something. He stopped sliding a few meters away and looked towards me. In my hand is my ancient tome of magic.
Lucifer: You think you can beat me with that old tome of magic. I fight up close, what can a mage class do.
Vil’cri: You are right. This is unpractical for who I will be fighting but I would suggest something Lucifer. When I pull out my real weapon activate your true form less you want to end up cut in half.
Lucifer: I hold no fear for a weakling such as you.
At this point I held my tome in my left hand while dangling it in the air. A dense miasma released from it and became like a great flame.
Vil’cri: Lucifer. Do you know what a Lich ranks up to when he reaches Divine rank?
Lucifer: How would I know. I’m not a Lich.
Vil’cri: True. Sadly I also can’t answer that question as well. I was never a normal Lich to begin with. Unlike the trash that live here, I never hated humans. My hate was towards demons. During the wars did it ever cross your mind that I had killed gods greater than lesser rank.
Lucifer: Thats impossible. All the reports say that the Divine demons at the time killed the greater gods and died after because they had to many grave wounds.
Vil’cri: You are as simple minded as ever. I was always the only one to return. ever since I reached peak royal rank I have been able to kill greater gods. I left the battlefields in red and black with the blood of angels and demons but never has my blade touched human blood.
Lucifer: Blade?
Vil’cri: I have been feared by the subordinates and through that I gain power just as you but I have other sources. From the humans I saved I was worshiped as a god of death. Though I wasn’t a real one after many years fighting I was called by him. The real god of death. He gave me a blessing which empowered me as long as I never touched a human or any who live in the mortal world. This blessing changed my rank up.
The black flames began converging towards my hands. not only my own miasma but all that around us.
Vil’cri: This rank up is unique in all its right as only 3 beings have something similar. The god of death himself. A DemI god in the mortal world. And myself.
The flames formed into a solid object that floated under my hand. As I grabbed it the black miasma began covering my body. These black flames would burn anyone that weren’t worthy or allowed by the owner. As soon as the flames covered my body I began to change.. My bones became immensely dense and on my back new bones grew in the form of bat wings. They lack flesh like a living person but still could lift me from the ground. My white bones were covered and charred by these flames and turned pitch black like the night and my body became nearly invisible within the shadow of my robe. In my hand I held an old looking scythe which had an old slightly curved wooden shaft and the black as black as the abyss.

The flames died down and only burned from the bottom of the robe as if it was part of it.
Vil’cri: I may not kill you Lucifer but as the underworlds Grim Reaper I will keep you from killing the children I have come to love. They will change this world and that girl with finish the job I can’t finish. Prepare Lucifer! This is a fight for your life you haven’t felt in 2000 years.
