《Holy World》Chapter 14 - Roommates

Later that day, the siblings were presented with their accommodations for this academic year. They had separate rooms but were on the same floor.
The student accommodations were mixed, and each student had access to the canteen from where they would get three meals a day.
Andrew opened the door to his new room and he was surprised to find three other boys inside. He was told before that he would have to share his room but he expected he would be sharing it with another person, not three.
The room was pretty spacious and had two bunk beds on the right side and two small bathrooms on the left side. Also on the left side, there were two big desks with four simple chairs.
"Hello, are you in this room as well?" a short blonde boy rose from his chair and asked.
"Yeah, let's get along well." smiled Andrew in response.
"Great, I'm Sebastian. Nice to meet you." the short boy warmly introduced himself and shook Andrew's hand.
"I'm Andrew." he was a bit taken aback as he shook Sebastian hand. He could feel a slight pressure coming off his hand.
[Inspect]

Occupation: Beastmaster
Elemental Affinity: Earth (Top)
Mana Root Grade: 7
Ability: Strength Increase
An honest commoner with decent talent and an innate ability which increases his strength.]
[An evolver!] Andrew did his best to conceal his surprise.
"Sebastian, why are you being so nice with him? Can't you see he is about our age and still an Apprentice? His talent must be very bad, even worse than yours." a voice sounded from behind Sebastian. On one of the beds, a slim boy with medium black hair had an annoyed expression as he looked at the two.
"Haha, don't mind him Andrew, he might look arrogant but he is a good person. His name is Troy." laughed Sebastian.
[Name: Troy Valkarie
Age: 17
Level: 21
Occupation: Alchemist

[System, can you remind me the cultivation stages after Scholar?]
[Affirmative. After the Soul Seed Stage there is Soul Burst, Law Seeking, World Law, Law Ascension, Law Sage. Further Information is locked. Please upgrade the system to unlock.]
[He's only a Core Formation Mage who recently broke through. What's there to be arrogant about? That guy from earlier, Shawn I believe, was 27 and so powerful already. Can this guy reach the World Law Stage in ten years? I don't think so.] Andrew sneered in his mind.
[Is host able to?] asked the System.
[No, but I am not arrogant.] he shrugged.
[Affirmative. With host's current talent, reaching the World Law Stage before dying is highly unlikely. However, with System's help, the limitations imposed on host by nature can be disregarded.] Andrew's eyes flickered at the System's words.
"And you?" Andrew forced a smile as he looked at the last person in the room. He was a seemingly tall boy with short brown hair. He was sitting cross-legged on his bed, his eyes closed, seemingly not paying attention to what was going on in the room.
"Ah, he hasn't spoken a word since he got here. He is just sitting there meditating." Sebastian added.
Andrew frowned for a second before activating his inspect skill.
[Name: Siedon Theodore
Age: 19
Level: 34
Occupation: Soul Physician
Elemental Affinity: Light(Extraordinary)
Mana Root Grade: 9
Ability: Truth Glimpse
Son of the Theodore Family, one of the 4 Royal Families. His ability allows him to get glimpses of truth such as the past of a person, the truth about a situation or when somebody lies. He is currently using the light elements in the surroundings to disguise his appearance.]
[Wow, Royal Family huh, now that's a talented guy. And how come I was thrown in a room with two evolvers? Since when are evolvers so common?]
Siedon opened his eyes for a bit and looked at Andrew.
[Warning! Host's disguise has been seen through! Starting analysis on target's ability...]

[Quite the useful ability yeah...]
"Leave us!" Siedon opened his mouth and told Sebastian and Troy.
"Eh? What was that? Don't think that just because you are a Scholar you can just order us around like.." Troy started getting angry but his words were quickly stopped as Siedon threw him a look.
A strong pressure, a pressure coming from his mind, started affecting Troy so much the he wasn't able to speak anymore. Siedon's eyes seemed to stare right into his soul.
In the end, without further words, he and Sebastian exited the room. As they left, Siedon rose from his bed and walked up to Andrew.
"What is your relationship with the Dumitru Family?"
"I don't even know who they are." Andrew frowned even harder. He didn't like this feeling of being questioned like he was some sort of a criminal.
"You are not lying." Siedon's eyes twinkled.
"But then, who is Vlad Dumitru to you?" he asked, his eyes shining brighter.
[Analysis successful. Target's ability can now be manipulated by the system. Target can no longer see the truth about host.]
"Nobody. If you are asking why you might have seen us together, that Royal Family member was just bored on the way back to the Fortress and he picked us up on the way to have someone to chat with."
"Good." Siedon seemingly lost interest and went back to his bed.
[What's up with this guy anyway? Does he have a grudge with Vlad? Maybe their families don't get along well?]
In the end, Andrew left Siedon alone and went to find his sister. As he exited the room, he found both Sebastian and Troy sitting on the ground playing cards.
"Ah you are fine. That's good. I thought that guy was gonna chop you up." Troy said as he put a card down.
"Nobody would dare kill anyone on Academy grounds anyway..ha! Got you!" Sebastian said as he placed another card down.
"Ah damn..." complained Troy.
"I'll see you two later." Andrew said as he left.
"What's the business with that guy? He is weak and yet he gives a powerful feeling of confidence." asked Troy.
"Who knows, but you could try suppressing that arrogance of yours from time to time.." Sebastian shrugged.
Andrew quickly reached Aisha's room. She was on the same floor and there were only fifteen rooms per floor. He was just about to knock when Aisha opened the door.
"Ah! I was just about to come look for you! Everyone, this is my big brother, Andrew." Aisha said with a smile.
Behind her were two girls around the age of 14 who quickly introduced themselves.
[It seems the accommodations are arranged based on one's age?] thought Andrew.
They exchanged some words but Andrew quickly became bored. Aisha's roommates seemed nice, not like his, but he didn't really enjoy their talk about clothes.
"Ok, I think I am gonna go for a walk. Want to join me?" Andrew asked Aisha.
"Ah, maybe later?" she said as she continued the conversation with the girls.
[Sigh, replacing me already?] he grumbled in his mind before leaving.
As he was walking around the place he found a huge interior garden. From the outside it seemed not much but when he entered he realized how mistaken he was.
[Space formation detected. Space has been compressed.]
[Yeah, no kidding.] he said surprised. The garden was way bigger then he imagined, it seemed to stretch for more than a kilometre. There were flowers everywhere and even a small forest. There were many people here meditating, playing or just walking, but because of how big the garden was, it didn't seem crowded at all.
As Andrew entered the small forest, the system sent him another alert.
[Minor meditation formation detected. Host is advised to take this opportunity to breakthrough.]

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)
