《Story of a Killer》Chapter 8 - Starting at the Academy

Damon stood in his room, currently tying a tie around his neck. Today was the day he, Mika and Hikari started at the Academy. His indifferent mask seemed to be slipping slightly as he got dressed, not being able to hide his abundant excitement about setting on his path to becoming powerful.
The uniform for the school was a white blazer and matching white dress pants, with a black shirt to wear under the blazer. The tie Damon was currently putting on was white and looked like a normal tie in all honesty.
The blazer had black trims which contrasted well with the main white color and the trousers had a single black line down either side.
All in all the uniform looked quite nice. It seemed professional while still feeling youthful making a weird, but soothing balance.
Damon finished up with his tie leaving it slightly loose along with the top two buttons undone. It looked a bit messy but when Damon wore it like that, it seemed right. Like his uncaring attitude was reflected onto his clothes.
Looking in the mirror, Damon nodded his head at his appearance, obviously satisfied and then slipped on his black dress shoes which came with the uniform.
Walking out of his room and moving his hand through his unkempt white hair, Damon saw Hikari in her uniform knocking on Mika's door.
"Mika-sama, are you up yet? We need to leave soon." Hikari was wearing an apron over her uniform but it didn't stop Damon from seeing what she was wearing. The uniform was the same as his but it had a skirt which showed off Hikari's creamy thighs which were surprisingly thick for someone as short as she was.
Along with a skirt, Hikari was where black knee socks with some white at the knee end.
Damon walked up to Hikari without a change on his face despite the picturesque scene in front of him. Hikari, seeing Damon, showed a scowl on her face as she sharply spoke to him.
"What do you want?" her voice was cold as she glared at Damon. This had been her attitude ever since he completely stomped her in a fight and even if she couldn't use her magic, the fact he was so physically superior and had fighting technique far beyond hers, annoyed her to no end.
'Man, she really does know how to hold a grudge.'
Damon couldn't help but make a remark in his head as he grinned slightly as he got near to Hikari and spoke.
"What's the problem with Mika-sama? Is she not waking up?" Damon kept a calm voice despite the glare Hikari seemed to permanently show him. Hikari glared at him for a few more seconds but dropped it after that.
"You're really hard to stay mad at, you know? You never react to anything and it makes me feel like I'm being mad with a mannequin..." Hikari sighed as she looked at Damon with an 'I'm gonna explain something important to you' kind of expression before speaking "Yes, Mika-sama won't wake up. She's never been a morning person and it's made even worse by the fact she stays up so late every night...But she'll eventually wake up we just need to wai--"

Before she could finish what she was saying, Damon opened Mika's door and barged in.
He was a bit shocked by what he saw.
Despite her appearance as a cool and calm beauty who seemed like she'd like plain things, there was a surprising amount of pink in her room. And plushies. Even Damon's face slightly twitched when he saw it all. Nonetheless, he had a duty, so he walked up to Mika and pulled her blanket off of her.
"Ah!" Mika gave out a cute, high-pitch yelp as she felt the cold air around her attack her previously warm body.
Hikari gasped as she saw what Damon did, while Damon just kept an indifferent face as he spoke to Mika.
"Mika-sama, get up, otherwise we'll be late for our first day." Mika's eyes slowly opened to see Damon's imposing figure loom over her. Her eyes were slightly dazed as she thought this was a dream of some kind before the cold air cleared them up and caused her to realize this was real.
"Damon. Get out of my room. Now." Mika grit her teeth as she closed her eyes, shaking as she spoke. Damon shrugged his shoulders and turned around and left the room, not caring about her anger; he'd got her up and that was a mission complete in his head.
'Though, I wish she wouldn't get so angry at me just for seeing her in her pajamas...'
POV Change - Mika Tepes
Mika dressed herself with a red face. She looked sort of fidgety and kept tapping her foot against the floor but she didn't quite understand why.
Thinking about Damon seeing her body in her tight-ish pajamas...Her instincts seemed to do something to her when she thought about it.
'How unseemly of me...! It's not like he saw my naked body or anything!... Yeah, so it's fine that he saw me, right?'
Weird thoughts continued to roll around in Mika's head as she heard Hikari shouting at Damon and his apathetic replies. Hearing the two of them arguing made her smile slightly. She'd never really had much in the terms of friends, so her house had always been quiet and Hikari was too formal to allow herself to speak to Mika as a friend.
Mika thought that Damon was what they were missing; the middleman that would serve as the connection between all three.
Because despite his loyalty to Mika, as she'd seen and heard yesterday when he followed her order to not kill Hikari and from her Empathy ability she'd seen just how much he wanted to kill. So him not killing just to follow her order showed his loyalty.
However, despite his loyalty, he seemed so indifferent about her identity and he acted however he liked around her. She didn't dislike it either, it was refreshing. She just wished he wouldn't do stuff like earlier.
Thinking about what Damon did earlier again, Mika started to fidget again.
POV Change - Damon Jaeger
Damon just sat on the sofa eating drinking some blood from a bag as Hikari continued to reprimand him. If he said he was actually listening to her, he'd be lying.

"Oi!" Hikari slapped his shoulder "Are you listening to me?!" Damon looked her in the eyes and answered her "Not really. So save your breath, would ya?" Hikari seemed to have steam coming off the top of her head as she looked at Damon who went back to drinking his breakfast.
Damon's ears pricked a little as he heard Mika's door open and then close and then her light but firm steps coming down the stairs.
He stood up and drained the bag into his mouth before throwing the now empty blood bag onto the table in front of him. Hikari had heard the footsteps by now and she walked toward the staircase with a blood bag in hand.
Damon himself quickly dashed toward the kitchen, picking up all three of their lunches for today. 3 blood bags for Mika, 6 for himself and some normal food for Hikari.
Looking at the bag with all his blood bags in, he lamented over the fact that his appetite was getting bigger with each passing day and it was slightly problematic.
Despite the problems, he did get some benefits. The main benefit was that his physical strength, durability and even his speed were increasing with his appetite. The only other benefit was that it seemed to help him control his instincts and he could feel that he was reaching the period where he could take the holy lock off.
Thinking of taking the lock off, a smile spread across his face. Its constant weakening was becoming annoying, to say the least, especially to someone like Damon who was so thirsty for power.
Damon walked to the staircase himself and picked up his bag from the sofa he was just sitting on.
When he got there, Hikari and Mika looked at him weirdly. Damon wasn't quite sure why but when they spoke up about it, it made sense to Damon.
"Whoa, what's got you smiling? It's weird to see you so visibly happy." Hikari spoke while looking slightly tense at Damon's smile, it obviously bringing up bad memories from their fight.
Damon handed Hikari and Mika their lunch for today while also putting his in his bag. After that, he answered Hikari by lifting his wrist with the lock and chain on it and spoke. "I feel that I'll soon be able to remove this. It'll stop weakening me, so of course, I'll be happy about it." his indifferent voice had a bit of happiness leaking into it, further shocking the two girls.
After this little talk, they all set off for the Academy. It wasn't that far of a walk and the fact they were all superhumanly fast meant they couldn't be late even if they tried.
Getting to the gate of the school, Damon looked around and saw other people dressed in uniforms like them. Hairs and eyes of so many different colors it reminded Damon of an anime where most of the characters went to a school with so many unnatural people. Damon, of course, knew that all these people were unnatural, however.
People were talking with their friends, joking about or even trying to talk to girls they liked.
Looking at the scene, Damon was reminded by his time with Erika and Ayano causing him to feel an unusual amount of emotion.
'I'll never have that back...will I?...No matter, I need to keep Erika and Ayano out of this...world.'
If Mika or Hikari knew his thoughts and the amount of emotion he was feeling, they'd be shocked because despite the few days they'd known him, they could tell he was a very apathetic person as he'd never shown much emotion or care.
But what the two didn't know was how much Erika and Ayano meant to him. During his worst hours, despite not knowing it, those two were there for him.
This fact and many others attributed to the fact that he'd kill for them.
Damon mentally shook himself away from the feelings of sadness and loneliness and made sure his indifferent face stayed still. He had to make an impression on those in his class today, if he could he'd cement Mika's position in the class.
Damon and Hikari followed behind Mika. Mika herself gained the attention of boys and girls alike as she strode her way into the school grounds.
Her beauty right now was almost palpable, like an aura of perfection.
Damon gained a lot of looks himself, his tall and broad figure towering over anyone near him, giving an incredibly imposing atmosphere like a God of War or something similar. Those with experience could tell he was Mika's bodyguard from the fact his strength seemed to make the very air shake in fear.
Hikari also got her fair share of looks, the short and well-endowed girl looking like the perfect maid; Beautiful, Calm and Polite.
The three of them walked toward where they knew their class was going to be. They found out late last night that they would be in class 1-E, so they walked to where that classroom was.
When they got there, Mika swung the door open with grace and the right amount of arrogance. Damon couldn't help but grin at how different she was compared to the girl he had to forcibly wake up this morning.
The contrast would prove to make this life slightly more interesting.
Everyone in the class looked towards the people walking in with curiosity.
'Let's hope this is at least semi-entertaining...'
Damon mentally thought as he met the eyes of all the people looking at the three of them.
