《Re:Hammer》Chapter 29

Getting dragged back to Filnon’s house put Estaria on edge, because she felt there was only one thing going to happen here, in her sanctuary. This was reinforced when Filnon gave her a passionate kiss and dragged her off to the bed. But then, she got shocked when Filnon simply cuddled in and went to sleep. Her touch made Estaria’s skin crackle with pleasure, but something strange about this soft, passionate intimacy after what she had previously displayed was confusing and disjointing. Estaria found herself unable to think properly, and had a fitful sleep that saw her wake up wet and tired.
“You’re soaking the bed. Worried about the fight?” Filnon asked, turning to her and stroking her sweaty face.
“N-no. Why…are you just…-” Estaria asked, her stuttering, staggered voice giving Filnon plenty of time to pre-empt her.
“Why am I not vigerously and horrifically molesting you?” Estaria nodded at that, and Filnon let out a laugh. “Do you want me to?” she asked, her tone filled with mirth and laughter.
“N-no! Just, that’s what you said you were going to do. That, that I was yours and you were going to take advantage of that fact” she exclaimed, stammering through her argument.
“You are mine. I own every part of you, which means I get to do whatever I want to you. And if that means a night hugging you like my own giant teddy bear, or dressing you up and taking you out for dinner, or ravaging you in the middle of the street with you dressed up like Ceal, then I will” Filnon explained, before kissing her pet’s lips and dragging her into the shower. Estaria spent a moment wondering why every race except her own had these intricate falling water devices for getting cleaned up.

Of course, Filnon didn’t waste any time using the shower for recreational purposes while washing herself and Estaria, and the poor Captain came out of there flushed with more than the heat. Filnon then got Estaria dressed up again, and kissed her cheek.
“If you make a splash, I’ll get you a new uniform. Something cute~” Filnon then gave her a spank on her ass and they were off to the Arena. Without, all the chains. Maybe they were just show-off or something. Druchii culture was confusing. In some parts, at least. In the part of, ‘kill a lot of things so they like you and your owner will be nice to you’, it was pretty simple to understand. And so that was the part she was going to show off now. The arena boss gave her the spiked gauntlets again, and then waiting for the gates to open, she pulled up her inventory.
The fights of yesterday had given her some materials to work with, things to sell. And that was good because all her money had been stolen. Probably by Filnon. It all came to just over 5k, which went on upgrading the gauntlets. Unlike before - or probably like before, she didn’t really pay attention - the appearance of the weapon changed. Thick leather straps bound the gauntlets, studded for increased durability and impact. The spikes grew slightly bigger and much shinier, made from steel rather than iron. It looked like a more dangerous weapon than before, all told. Which was good, dangerous was exactly what she needed. Especially when the door opened and she saw the opponent they had put her against. A Druchii warrior, in full battle armour, with a broad shield and a vicious looking blade. Orange rank foe as well, so not just anyone. Not something that would have been all that hard with her proper gear, but she was decidedly sans gear right now.

The Druchii gave a salute to the Master of town, and Estaria spared a glance towards Filnon, who was looking on with anticipation and excitement. Flicking her eyes back to the warrior, she clenched her new gauntlet fists and took off towards him. The shield and armour would make him pretty hard to deal with, even with the new weapon she upgraded. It would need to be a Purple for sufficient armour penetration. Though it was fast, so she could use that to her advantage. Druchii were naturally faster than most, and even weighed down as he was, the warrior was still of the same level as Estaria.
Though there was a difference. His armour against Estaria’s lack, and his blade vs her fists. The lack of range the fists gave was mitigated by Es given her strength and speed, capable of easily moving in and out of the range of her attacks. The Druchii was fast, and Estaria had to put her all into the fight to avoid his sword, and even then her luck took a few hits, but they were hits that she gave the Druchii in return. The shield was quickly ditched when he realized that Estaria was to quick to use it properly, and the fight was a flashing whirl of motion. Druchii followed it seamlessly, but the human slaves in the audience were left in confusion, able only to get a general gist from audio cues.
The armour proved tough for her, since it was well forged and her gauntlets were hardly armour piercing. She had to get in deliver a precise strike and then slip out before he could catch her with his sword, and even then, it was only the 100 precision trait that gave her enough AP to be worth a dam. Without that, it would be like hacking down a building with a knife. It was this risky fighting style that led her to getting the luck bar a bit to low for her liking. But by the time it was there, she had already started to punch his health down. Armour like that was reducing her damage, but it was still enough that she was able to make some progress. Finally committing to the bit, Estaria rushed in and threw down. First she hit his Groin with a Quicksilver Viper, but he had stun resistance and managed to soak that. However, the Second Slice that came right after destroyed his groin. That one had him hunched over in agony.
Taking this moment to aim - melee was harder than ranged for her - she drove a brutal uppercut to his head, the spike of her gauntlet driving through his eye and delivering him death in a most instant fashion. The crowd was silent for a moment, and then erupted into cheers. They just wanted a good specticle here, and Estaria had given them just that. Besides, she was hardly without rewards of her own with this fight and the others she had gone through the day before. While exp was hard to come by, it was all mounting up.
