《Last Grace: The Apex of Another World》Chapter 1.1 - Wrath comes knocking

Wrath wondered where he was heading. Where did the portal lead? The darkness that he was covered him told Wrath nothing.

Quicker than Wrath could have anticipated he felt the wind press against him as the shadows turned into a pale blue. He was falling, he was going down, much too quick. As he fell he looked around, seeing that his arms had changed to an exotic mix of porcelain yellow. This surprised him, was he an exception on new bodies to the world…

His master… what about him?

Wrath wondered if Lucifer, his master had experienced the same thing? Had he turned human?

How was his master handling all this?

Wrath looked around, his master must have gone somewhere else. This disappointed Wrath, he was the reason that he went here. He would've happily stayed in Hell if his master stayed there with him.

With little time to think about what was happening Wrath fell towards a dull green color. It looked to be wet, it's dull territory expanding in Wraths view.

Wrath read books talking about what he was falling towards, they called it a swamp. He did not remember the time that he lived as a human, he only remembered the time in Hell.

Here, wherever this place was, was the place his master wanted to go to. He lacked an understanding of why, but he followed him anyway because he believes in his master's intentions.

Without a moment to lose Wrath fell into a small pond filled with lilies. As the water surrounded Wrath, he felt the cold, he had not felt that in so long, it nearly felt unreal.

Though because of his masters destination he remained cautious. Taking a glance at the water Wrath saw his face, his old one.

The familiar exotic skin underneath a waist length set of crimson hair, his eyes were silver.

His red robe still intact.

Pleased that his master's gift had gone untouched, even if it was wet it would had not been displaced or torn. It was his most cherished possession after all.

Taking away his attention from the water, and clothing he began to swim, the pond was rather deep despite its size.

It took a bit of time but Wrath ended up getting out of the pond after a minute of swimming.

He looked around and saw bugs zoom with their nose close to the ground. They were flying low, it seemed that they understood their place in the world.

Wrath wandered out of the water, and started to make a path through the marsh. A few steps later he felt his feet were once again submerged. Water was everywhere, there was no real ground.

He would have to find a way out of the marsh if he was going to locate Lucifer. While he was at it he should find out useful information about the world. Despite it being a marsh, it could easily be an environment found at another place. Or rather… another world.

If that was true it would be a surefire way to cure his masters boredom. He payed careful attention to Lucifer's actions since it was his duty to protect his master.

He had to be his master's weapon and be sharp when the need to fight for his master arises.

To do that he needed knowledge. He would see what this world was all about.

In order to identify sentient life he would have to engage in conversation. There was no guarantee that they could understand him, but they needed to understand. How else would he teach them of his master's greatness?

While his master was greatl, his master had weaknesses like any other demon. Now that he was a human, he lacked the power that was necessary to protect himself.

Wrath would utilize this opportunity to get closer to his master, and stop his master from making any stupid mistakes the second time around on his path back to power.

Wrath had many things to do before he was able to do that himself. He would have to regain his power… he got his power from Lucifer.

How he went about getting his power back he would have to do it quick. Or he would become dead weight, even Lucifer his master acknowledged his power.

With that power gone Wrath would be ignored. That's how his master was.

Lucifer’s most volatile trait - if you were useful you were appreciated, if you were not, you were ignored or even killed.

Wrath would never go back to being ignored.

Not if he could help it, in a new world filled with opportunities Wrath could do it.

If he gained the power to stand on his own he would be worthy once more, he would be able to protect his master. So what if he was not appreciated, he would forever remain thankful.

The time that he was thanked before Lucifer leapt into the portal was the second time he was thanked. He felt appreciated, yet mere moments after he feeled like he was lacking.

As Wrath was thinking his stomach growled, he better get something to eat. He was human again.

Wrath had to help his master, by helping himself.

He would not starve for excellence was Lucifer's standard.

He would show them why he was called Wrath, the second strongest demon in Hell.

Wrath was not stronger than Lucifer… not that he knew. Wrath knew better than to think that.

Whenever Lucifer worked towards his ambitions, Lucifer became much more than the King of Hell keeping the souls in check.

He became the light that Hell took for granted, the one whose name made the sins sweat bullets.

Becoming worthy of defending him was his only goal in his life.

Though, if Lucifer held ambition for this place Wrath would ensure that nothing got in his way.

In the way of mightiest ruler of Hell Lucifer, the Lord of Darkness, King of Crimson, and Holder of the Sin of Pride they would all burn to dust if they disobeyed even without his intervention.

And they would only be thankful for the acknowledgement that they existed. That was the best thing that they could get. As a sin, the king of hell’s authority made any path other than the one that he sought not viable.

Nor a choice.

If he sought the death of liars, liars would get razed.

If they were told to die, they would become martyrs to carry his great name into the sky.

Lucifer was their lord, he a mere retainer would respect his wishes.

For Wrath was a tool for his master to call upon, spreading his masters good name, and was more than happy to comply.
