《Last Grace: The Apex of Another World》Chapter 12 - His Oath

Lucifer had to be careful if he messed up in his counters with his two present rabbit-lookalikes he would not be seen the next day - alive. The adrenaline made sure that his body was not overwhelmed with the pain. He could safely ignore it,
“What is a bucktooth bastard like that going to do to me?” Lucifer speech slurred as he spun his body around, getting these vermin a grave was his greatest and sole priority.
He smacked one of them with the stick that he had in his grasp - targeting the three eyed rabbit that tore a chunk from his leg first. That rabbit retreated back a distance when he tried to strike it, “Not yet!” Lucifer yelled when he failed the second time too, following through with the third strike that was his swiftest strike successfully pelting the nibblers small frame till it went ahead of its ally to the afterlife. “Eat birch!” Lucifer gleamed. Quickly turning around he pushed his stick out in preparation for the critters still living rabbit ally. Chasing him down the moment that Lucifer had been distracted.
“This is not a game.” Lucifer calmly denoted holding the stick with both hands striking the charging small critter with one blow crumbling under the power of the strike. One it fell, grinding the end of the stick into the back of the monstrous three eyed rabbit when it touched face to face with the dirt, it stopped moving - permanently.
“This is life!” Lucifer grinned, staring at the finished rabbits with great pride. He won, for once he bested two 3-eyed rabbits. They were not strong - instead they were graceful. Ugly graceful bastards. For that they will not bring shame to their ancestors, just pride for a successful life or death bout. Fulfilling their worth by giving Lucifer the experience he was due.

No longer carrying his awareness about the two- whom now were ready for the reaper to take them Lucifer waltzed happily away. With more confidence he was ready to track down even more rabbits. Hoping deep down that the next fight would bring him even closer to defeat - only to win in the end and to fertilize his growth more. His future while bleak was not covered in total darkness. Until it was he would never run out of options. Even then his pride never stopped keeping him satisfied no matter his predicament
A second later he received a new blue screen, no doubt related to combat. He made sure to stand guard using his hearing, his sight was occupied.
Skill: [Intimidation] has been added to Lucifer's status, and its respective effects are now active
He had the ability to check its effects later so he went ahead and closed it. As soon as he did Lucifer noticed a new notification manifest - Lucifer is on a roll! Booyah!
Lucifer has acquired the required experience necessary to go to Level 6! Plus 5 SP!
That's more like it! The new SP was appreciated. He could always use the higher stats - they were still low, but he was getting there and he liked what he was seeing. He liked to see that his hunt was fertile, earning him plenty - making it worthwhile to extend the hunt.
Until the night became day - and the morrow rose a hardfought victory in hand, he would hunt. This was not a promise. This was an oath and not one he would break, his mind was sharp and if words helped him to cut down any in his way he would utilize them - everything that was at his disposal.
His mind, flesh, bone, nerves all ready to unleash a little hell, his plan demanded it.
The sky may turn red, and the waters may run dry he would still hunt.
That was the type of demon he was, and breaking oaths was for weaklings.
And Lucifer was far from weak.

This fiction is based on a short story I wrote inspired by a prompt on r/WritingPrompts. Contrary to my plans, I haven't sketched out the story in detail or written anything ahead of time. I've discovered I don't do well at that. I'm just writing this thing and we'll see where it takes us, OK?
