Four years have passed since Li Chen cut down the tree. Li Chen is now ten years old. Today is an important day for the Demonte Clan. Today is the day Zayer Demonte takes his Elemental Affinity Test. The maids were in a real hurry. They needed to make sure whether all the arrangements were done perfectly. Lavisa was in high spirits. She couldn't wait to see the results. She had already made up her about her son's future. She didn't mind if he had bad affinities. She would just make him train in the ways of the warrior. She was currently in her room getting ready for the ceremony. After a while, she looked at herself in the mirror and nodded in satisfaction. She left her room and started to rush down the stairs.

"Lavisa, where are you going?"

Lavisa turned back and saw her husband Oswin.

"Dear, I'm going to check up on Zayer. He may be really nervous about the whole thing"

"HaHa! No need to worry! I'm sure he's confident!"

"Wait, did you go meet him?"

Oswin's face became slightly red in embarrassment and turned to look away.

"Hmph" Lavisa snorted and went downstairs.

"Acting all high and mighty but you were worried yourself" Lavisa thought to herself as there was a smile on her face. She couldn't help but think how much Oswin dotted on his son.

Lavisa reached Zayer's room and saw the door open. She helped herself in.

"Oh! Mom what are you doing here?" Li Chen asked.

"Zayer I came to check on you. You know today is a really important day. Don't be nervous, mommy will take you there herself." Lavisa calmly said.

"Why should I be nervous? If I have bad affinities then I'll train in the ways of the warrior. No need to worry"

"Ho! My little boy has really matured up. Okay come on lets go. Grand Ma Verona will be waiting. It's best we go early and not make her wait" Lavisa was so happy to see her son act so mature. Now she had no concerns. If her son really did have bad affinities, he was strong enough mentally to come in terms with it. Lavisa and her son walked out of the room and headed towards the community hall where the test was going to take place. All the members of the clan are to gather there for the ceremony. Theron, Sojul and the other younger generation won't be present as there are in their respective academies. Usual the ceremony would be a minor affair but today the third son of the strongest person in the clan was taking the test. Everyone were excited to see what kind of a person his son was.

Li Chen had been training in the ways of the warrior for four years. He reached the Nebula Profound Realm eight months ago. As of now, he was in the mid stage of the Nebula Profound Realm in the ways of the warrior. He gave less attention to training in the ways of the mage. He reached True Profound Realm a year ago and didn't train again. If he were to train in his usual abnormal pace, he would have made more breakthroughs in these four years but he decided not to. He chose to take it slow. Two days ago he decided to use Camouflage Ability to use suppress his affinity to darkness element. He couldn't guess what other affinities he had. He had used the methods to sense the element of fire but he had failed. So, he now knew that he didn't have the affinity to fire. There were other ways to know what affinities he had but he really wasn't interested. He was too lazy to perform all those experiments that he gained knowledge of through Krezul. So, he decided to keep himself in suspense. Like all the other people he would just take the test and find out what destiny had for him.

Li Chen and Lavisa walked through the gardens and finally reached the community hall. The hall was built next to the gardens. It was a two storey building but was too large. It was painted in white and looked like very new. They walked up the steps to the entrance of the hall. Once they entered the hall they saw many of the clans men in their seats. There were around thousand seats. Many of the people present here were from the branch families. Everyone were engaged in a conversation and the atmosphere looked very much pleasant. As they walked to end of the hall, everyone's gaze fell upon Li Chen. There was curiosity in their minds. They wanted to know if he would be a genius of the clan.

The ceremony was to be conducted for two others from the younger generation. Lavisa told Li Chen to head up the platform where the other two were already present. The elders were already waiting on the platform with the crystal ball. The crystal ball would tell what affinity a person had when they would place their hand on top of it. When someone kept his or her hand on top of it, the ball would glow. For fire affinity it would glow red, for water it glow blue, for earth it would glow brown, for air it would glow green, for lightning it would glow yellow, for light it would glow white and for darkness it would glow black. The level of affinities depended on the intensity of the glow. For exceptional level affinity there would be sparks emerging out of the ball in their respective color. Now, everyone had gathered in the hall. They were waiting for Verona Demonte. She was the most important person as she would be the person to carry out the ceremony. Li Chen stood behind the other two who were also to be tested. They both turned around and looked at him with a smile. Li Chen returned a smile in courtesy. Out of the two one was a boy and the other was a girl. The boy was about to ask something and opened his mouth but suddenly,

"Silence!!!" the elders shouted.

Everyone seated in the hall looked back as Verona Demonte had arrived. She flew through the hall and reached the platform. She looked at Li Chen and had a smirk on her face.

Li Chen gulped. Everyone's attention was now towards the platform as the ceremony was about to begin. Oswin and Lavisa were seated in the front seats. Kladus sat next to Oswin. They both looked really exited. Verona took the crystal ball and placed it on the table in front. She looked at the hall and shouted

"Let the ceremony begin!!"

One of the elders yelled "Lucius Demonte!"

As he called out the name the boy in front of Li Chen moved forward towards the crystal ball.

"Child, place your right hand on the crystal ball" Verona said.

"Yes Elder!" the boy replied.

He kept his right hand on the ball. After a few seconds the ball started to glow red.

"Medium level affinity to Fire! " Verona shouted as her voice resonated the walls. Everyone seated were happy for the boy. Medium level affinity was the basic requirement for having a good future prospect.

After a few seconds the red glow disappeared and the ball had a faint glow of brown color. Then the glow became brighter and brighter and then stopped.

"Medium level affinity to Earth! " Verona shouted. Again everyone were really happy. They saw the boy had two medium level affinities. His branch family would definitely benefit from having such a talent.

The glow stopped and the crystal finally returned to being normal.

"Lucius Demonte! Two medium level affinities. Fire and Earth!" Verona shouted. The boy bowed to elder and left the platform.

There was an applause in the crowd. Everyone began to cheer as one man stood up from the crowd and yelled

"That's my boy!!"

Most probably it was his father. He was really happy. After hearing his statement many began to laugh in their seats.

"Silence!!" the elders shouted together in a voice.

Once again there was pin drop silence in the crowd. One of the elder then called the name.

"Serena Demonte!"

As the elder called out the name, the girl moved forward towards the crystal ball.

"Child, place your right hand on the crystal ball" Verona spoke.

"Yes Elder! " the girl replied.

The girl then placed her hands on the crystal ball. After a few seconds, there was a bright glow for brown color. It was much brighter than the boy's before.

"High Level affinity to Earth! " Verona said.

As the clans men heard what Verona said they were surprised.

"OH!!!!" many of the people present reacted. To have a high level affinity suggested that the person could be on par with a low level genius. Kladus almost shouted in surprise. To find high level affinities in the branch families was really rare.

The glow in the crystal ball dissipated and after a few moments there was a faint blue glow. The glow started to brighten up and finally stopped. The radiance of the glow was on the same level as the previous one.

Verona was shocked. The elders who stood before her were also stupefied.

"High Level affinity to Water!!" Verona shouted.

"Huh?!!" a sound could be heard in unison from the crowd. The clans men would erupt in any moment now but then suddenly

"Now I have no worries about my daughter. She will get a good groom!" a man shouted.

Everyone in the hall began to laugh.

On the platform, the girl's face flushed red. She was too embarrassed because of her father.

"Hahaha.....our new generation looks solid doesn't it brother?" Kladus laughingly asked Oswin.

"It sure is big brother. I could never think of expecting such a result"

"Yes! Yes! After all this we totally forget about my nephew! We should quickly see his too! Who knows what kind of a genius he is!? Huh?" Kladus was too excited.

"Yes, let us wait and watch brother" Oswin replied. He prayed for his son to have a good affinity. He saw Zayer and gave him a thumbs up. Zayer nodded back with a smile.

"Silence!!" the elders shouted.

"Serena Demonte! Two high level affinities. Earth and Water!!" Verona spoke.

Everyone in the crowd stood up and started to clap. They gave this much respect as a genius had been born in the clan.

"You have good talent child. Don't waste it. Train hard. You can come to me if you have any difficulties" Verona said.

"Yes Elder!" the girl replied in satisfaction. Then she exited the platform and went towards her dad in the crowd.

"Silence!!" the elder again yelled.

Now it was time for the main event. Everyone looked cautiously at the platform.

Then again one of the elders called out the name.

"Zayer Demonte!!" the elder yelled.

Li Chen walked towards the crystal ball.

"Hello Zayer" Verona spoke.

"Hello, Verona" Li Chen replied.

The elders who stood before Verona stared in disbelief. He had called the most influential person in the clan by her name. He was her grandson but to call her just by her name, not single one in the clan would dare to do that. They kept silent as they saw that Verona herself didn't say anything. Only some people in the front row could hear this.

Kladus chuckled.

"Brother, this is the thing I like about him the most! He has guts!" Kladus spoke.

"Yes brother! He's doing all the things which we could never do!" Oswin replied.

Lavisa seeing both of them said " I just hope the gods will favor him". She clapped her hands and started to pray.

Both the brothers looked at each other and began to have a light laugh. But this stopped in an instant. They could feel killing intent towards them. As they looked towards the platform, their mother was giving a deathly glare towards them. Both the brothers gulped. They became silent.

"Enough, now place your hand on the ball" Verona said.

"Yes" Li Chen responded and placed his hand on the ball.

The crystal ball after a few seconds gave out dim black glow. Verona was shocked. One of the elders behind almost fell down on the ground.

"Low level affinity to Darkness!" Verona shouted.

"Oh!!" the crowd yelled in unison.

As soon as everyone heard what Verona said, there was chaos in the hall. In the past hundred years not a single member of the clan had tested positive for the element of darkness.

"Oh my god!! I can't believe it!!" Lavisa exclaimed. Li Chen was quite surprised seeing the look on his mother's face and thought he had done the right thing in suppressing his affinity.

Both Kladus and Oswin were shocked.

"Brother, looks like Zayer is special huh?" Kladus asked

"Yes big brother but I want him to have another affinity which is at least at medium level. Then his future will be really good." Oswin replied.

"Yes! " Kladus nodded.

Then the dark glow was totally gone. After that a green grow started to appear in the ball. The glow was really bright. Verona had a smile on her face.

"High Level affinity to Wind!" Verona said.

Again there was chaos in the crowd. High level affinity meant he would be one of the strong martial artists in the future.

"Thank you god! Thank you!" Lavisa was really happy.

"Haha! Look brother my nephew is a genius!" Kladus said.

"Yes! Yes! After all, whose son is he? huh?" Oswin had smirk on his face.

But his expression changed quickly as he was elbowed from the side. It was Lavisa.

"Well, I guess I have good luck. This much is enough I guess. Wait what??" Li Chen thought to himself.

There was another glow from the crystal ball. It was yellow in color. The elders had enough but now they would faint any moment. Verona looked at it very seriously because the glow was becoming brighter. It became too bright. Verona had her doubts but all of those were answered in a moment as sparks came out of the ball.

"E-E-Exceptional affinity!!!!" Lavisa shouted as her voice echoed in the hall. Both Kladus and Oswin had their mouths open and looked lost.

"OH!!"

"Amazing!!!"

"Impossible!!"

These were some of the reactions from the crowd.

"Exceptional affinity to lightning!!!" Verona proudly said as she had a wide smile on her face.

The crowd stood up and gave a big round of applause. They all cheered. Li Chen was amazed himself but he had enough of this. The glow dissipated and the ball returned to being normal.

"Zayer Demonte. Low level affinity to Darkness! High Level affinity to Wind! Exceptional ability to Lightning!" Verona shouted proudly.

The crowd once again stood up clapping and cheered.

Li Chen was about to exit the platform but was stopped by Verona.

"Congratulations Zayer! You are indeed a genius. Now all that's left is to train you myself"

"W-What?"

"Oh! You didn't know I had a high level affinity to lightning?" Verona had a smile on her face.

Li Chen saw the expression on her face. It was the most treacherous smile he had seen in this life.

"Now why should Grand Ma over exert herself? I'm sure there are plenty other experts who will be able to teach me" Li Chen said as he wanted to dodge the situation.

"Look who's calling me 'Grand Ma" now. Get ready. Tomorrow we shall begin your training" Verona said with a fierce expression.

Li Chen gulped.

"O-Okay" Li Chen replied and hurriedly exited the platform.

He saw his mother with tears rolling down her face.

"Zayer!!" Lavisa jumped towards Li Chen and hugged him.

"I'm so happy Zayer! You will be a genius along with your brothers! You will become one of the pillars of the clan!"

"Now don't bore him Lavisa" Oswin said.

"It's okay dad, if mom's happy then it's okay" Li Chen replied.

"Hmph. I always knew you were a mamma's boy!" Oswin was slightly displeased.

"Don't start fighting already brother! Zayer congratulations!! I am so happy for you!" Kladus spoke.

"Thank You Uncle!" Li Chen happily replied.

"Now let's all go and celebrate!" Kladus exclaimed as everyone followed him.

Everyone in the hall were very satisfied with the results. They had watched something truly amazing. Now, they all went out to celebrate.
