《Sorainella》Finding a Goal

The rhinoceros, like the snake, did not look like it was supposed to. It was blood red, with a crystalline armor covering its body that made it look beautiful, like a dazzling ruby. A very angry dazzling ruby with a rather sharp and pointy looking horn that was placed in the perfect position to gut her.
Her mind was reeling, but that didn't stop her from instinctively raising her hand, which still held her gun somehow, and taking aim. Unlike the agile snake, the strange, mutated rhino was charging in a straight line, so Zane's level of gunslinging skill was not needed to shoot it in the eye.
She quickly fired off a shot, then moved to the side and out of the rhino's way. The bullet went straight through it's eye and into it's brain, instantly killing it. The rhino's forward momentum carried it forward for another few feet before it fell sideways onto it's massive flank. A huge cloud of dust billowed out from where it landed, and a small crater had formed under it's body.
Aurelie sat on the ground, gasping for air. She felt like someone had dunked her in a pit of ice water. Shock filled her. One new mutated never before seen animal she could somewhat accept, but two was a bit too much, even for her. 'What was that? What just happened? Is this real? Was that really the sign? Wait, I don't want to be insane, so my mind could have sent me a sign, just to appease me. No, but then Z would have appeared when I wanted him to. Heavens knows that I wanted Z to come way more than I wanted this guy to. So, I'm not insane, I guess. Well, I was never imaginative enough to dream up of this place to begin with.' (She also thought that she was acting a lot like Gollum, recently, by arguing with herself, but decided that that didn't affect the current circumstances and ignored it.)

A twig snapping broke her out of her reverie, and she immediately pointed her gun at the boy who the rhino was chasing, who had been quietly walking towards her. He'd never seen a gun before, but knowing what she'd done to the Red Crystal Rhino with it, he immediately jumped back. She hadn't noticed him initially coming towards her because he was moving nearer to her at an angle that made it so that the corner of her hoodie blocked her vision. She considered pulling the hood down, but that would expose her tangled hair and bruised face. Not only was she afraid that he'd leave before giving her any information as to what was happening and run in fright upon seeing her demonic appearance, her pride as a woman refused to let a cute boy's first impression of her be as a monster. (She may be in love with Zane, but that didn't mean she couldn't find other boys attractive.)
Thinking, Aurelie furrowed her brows, though her gun stayed level with his chest. He was the first person she'd seen since she'd come here. Now that she was calmer, she was considering what had just happened. As for the boy, upon seeing that Aurelie wasn't going to be unreasonable and shoot him without a cause, he relaxed slightly, though he was wary of the gun which was still pointed at him. He knew that the person before him couldn't be someone normal. Her clothes were strange, and he'd never seen her weapon before. In addition, a Metallic Snake lay at her feet, obviously killed by her. Both the Metallic Snake and Red Crystal Rhino had strength that greatly surpassed his own, and both had been killed by her. Ergo, she was stronger than him.
The two stayed like this for a while, each eyeing the other (though the boy couldn't really see Aurelie so he was eyeing her clothes more than he was eyeing her). Then, the boy's stomach let out a rather noticeable grumble, which, as you may guess, ended their standoff. He let out an embarrassed smile, while she looked at the two animals. Both had been killed by her, but they were huge, and there was no way she could eat both even if she knew how to cook, which she didn't.

"Okay, since the rhino thingy was chasing you and that was the only reason I met it, I'll give it to you. But in exchange, you have to teach me how to cook this snake."
"What? What did you say?"
It was around this time that both of them realized that something was a bit off.
The boy had no idea that there was even some place in this world which spoke another language. Everyone that he'd met spoke Sorainellese, though a few people did have slight accents. As such, his interest towards the person in front of him grew.
Aurelie, on the other hand, was panicking. 'Where am I?' She wondered. After she'd decided to ignore the prickly feeling she had decided that she was in the Amazon Rainforest. When she saw that the boy didn't look as though he hailed from South America, she decided that he was a tourist.
But that language he spoke... she'd never heard anything like it. It was so musical and each word just flowed into the other, to the point that she almost couldn't even make out the individual words that he spoke. She would've thought that he was singing, but no one would start to sing with a gun level with their heart. Unless singing when a red-headed teenage girl pointed a weapon at you was part of this country's customs... but, no, that was too ridiculous. This was undoubtedly a language. One she didn't know.
While it was true that she didn't know every language in the world, when she combined the unknown language with the mutated animals, strange trees, and her overall weird experience after she fell off the roof, an uneasy feeling that had been steadily growing, and just as steadily ignored, was brought to the limelight.
She'd read plenty of books in which the main character was transported to another world for whatever reason. The period that writers added, the part where the character had no idea that they were in a different world and tried to reason through it had always annoyed her and she'd always called them stupid, but she was pretty surprised at how hard it was to disconnect from her own world when the experience happened to her.
Though she had strongly denied the possibility of being in another world until now, Aurelie was surprisingly blasé about it after she consciously accepted it. She'd had an idea that she may not be on Earth anymore, and finally acknowledging made her feel as though a load had been taken off her shoulders. She hadn't really liked her world all that much, though whether this world was different remained to be seen. Really, the only reason she'd stayed in that world was because of... Zane. She sat straight up as though a bolt of electricity went through her. She couldn't stay here, separated from him and Uncle Chase, she had to go back. And to go back she needed to learn their language.

The Children of the Divine Limit
A realistic, psychological isekai: What pushes people to rejoice, to torture, to sacrifice, to kill? What gives some the will to survive and thrive in a new land and others the craving for dominance and exploitation? What would those who grew up without power all their lives do when given the approval and blessings of God Himself? How far will someone go to protect those close to them? How far will someone go to exact vengeance against an unjust world? How far can someone go before the abyss looks back at them? "Everything in the world is about sex — except sex. Sex is about power." - Oscar Wilde “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.” - Abraham Lincoln Greed is the worst of all the deadly sins; all of human history lays out the evidence to support this thesis. Consider all of the above before reading this story: A 12th-grade high school class is sent to another world; a world of sword and magic called Omicron where other-worlders are revered as heroes given the divine blessing of the Lord God Sapiora, creator of Omicron's human race. It is currently a world at war. The humans of Omicron need these divine heroes as weapons against the Demon Emperor and the demihuman forces of the evil god Azazelin. However, two students within the class, Ajax Leonid and Shaula Seikennith, haven't been given the hero's blessing. They've been given something else, something more curious; the blood of a deity who noticed their specialness. As a result, after escaping the clutches of their summoners who tried to kill them for their lack of heroic potential, Ajax and Shaula enter the new world of Omicron with no one on their side except each other. While wading through rivers of blood, Ajax and Shaula seek a stable life, a life where they can salvage happiness. They have each other above all else. Perhaps the cost will be worth it. Perhaps not.
