《Reality Grants One Chance》Chapter 26: Paralyzed pt.1

When I think about a sting from a wasp, irritation, slight pain and swelling come to mind, as .. well.. usually that's what is expected to happen afterward. Nothing I could imagine would ever compare to this sensation, to the pain flaring so strong, that I could see nothing but red, so radiant - that my body had frozen in a single arching spasm, unable to move even a muscle. I was trying to scream, both my mind and body were screaming in agony, but nearly nothing came out.. and whatever did, was silenced by the thundering of wings.. As you guessed it - I wasn't eaten.. I was being carried to the place of my demise.

I lost track of time, of sanity... only the feeling of my bones being made out of molten iron, and my veins filled with sulfuric acid, each inch of muscle pierced by a thousand jagged, rotating needles, connected to an electrical grid.. Imagine someone stabbing you in the same spot, over and over.. that, but three or four times worse.. all over your body.

Pain like that should have already caused death from shock.. or maybe at least my heart exploding from it beating too fast.. that's what I thought.. I hoped it would happen.. it didn't.. my heart was beating slowly, calmly.. as of I was meditating, my mind didn't blank out from pain.. this was the worst kind of sedation I've ever received.

The flaring red came to a stop, well.. rather it subsided and calmed down.. I was breathing, I was still alive.. and there was no sign of the bug from earlier, however.. well - my eyes were the only thing I could really move.. I felt paralyzed from my nose down.. not that I didn't feel my body, I did feel the saliva dripping from my open mouth. Needless to say, I wasn't able to swallow at all.

It was rather dark around, but considering my eyes were used to the darkness, I would guess that I've been in here for at least half an hour. Above me was a stone ceiling, which looked like it was formed naturally, not with the use of any tools. The dark surface of the stone was covered in some gray moss or something like that.. it was covering it in a thin layer, taking up all of the rounded spherical ceiling, and moving down its uneven walls. I could barely make out half of the surroundings from the position I was in.. one move of the neck- even that was impossible. The air seemed a bit humid and warm, though the feeling of comfort was the least of my concern now..

What did concern me, was the fact that I wasn't alone in this "cave". I was able to catch a glimpse of a body that lay right on the opposite side from me. Even though my eyes hurt from the strain, I could make out just the greyish color of the skin..

"That's right... there was a toader.." - I thought to myself, waiting for the paralysis to air out. Somehow... even though the poison didn't hurt or even make me feel discomfort, I was still in the same state. Then, the wasps returned.. I could hear the screeching footsteps, clawing on the stone getting closer and closer.. moving past my body.. and dropping another toader into this cave.

I felt doomed.. when it came to sentient beings, humans or whatever.. I'd guess there was a chance of mistake, mishap in their plan, stupidity.. but.. nature is scary. Nothing happened without a reason, nothing was armed like it was without a reason... and insects.. group insect of all of the creatures, were efficient..

"There's only one reason why an insect would drag a body to its hideout.. food.. but not for the big ones.." - Images of documentaries and short clips had popped up inside of my head, rushing like a sped up movie.. A guy that went by the name of Coyote took a sting from a tarantula hawk on camera, but even though the pain I felt was on a different scale.. The wasp - the way I believed it to act was the same.. I looked at the dark irises of the toader that was just thrown to the ground next to me. It was like looking in a mirror.. the same fear was radiating from the eyes of the grey, warted creature. Its mouth was spread open by the wasp that had just arrived.. its spiky claws opened the mouth gently, not even drawing the tiniest amount of blood. The mandibles were moving up and around as the creature stared at the defenseless and loomed closer. I couldn't take my eyes off of the toad.. but then, my head was grabbed by the hard, spiky claws and made to face the gargantuan bug.. up close the wasp was not even slightly less terrifying.. the faceted eyes were getting closer, its shell was shiny during the daylight, but now it was simply pitch-black.. I heard the mandibles munching, as well as its long and sharp tongue swirl around them, as if cleaning ... I wanted to look away, but no matter how I tried.. nothing happened - I was not in control of my own body..the wasp was..

I could feel the hooked hard claws touch my lips and carefully make their way into my mouth.. I felt how they scraped on my teeth, as the wasp had opened my mouth, slowly - not to accidentally break the jaw open. It was handling me with utmost care.. but all I could look at - were the mandibles and the copper colored tongue, that was moving between them and getting thicker.. The disgusting sound of scraping of chitin rang in my ears, the rustling of the claws inside my mouth, as they moved my tongue, was deafening.. My heart would race if it could.. but even that... was out of the control of my body. The bug inched closer and closer.. I shut my eyes closed.. I couldn't look at it any longer, but this wasn't the best decision. I could feel the touch of the creature even better now, to my own horror.. and I could tell that it's open mandibles were just a few centimeters away from my face.. Even though it didn't radiate any heat, it was the same feeling like someone putting a finger really close to your skin between the eyes.. Then.. I felt something drip into my wide open mouth.. just a drop - it was liquid and sweet, crazy sweet to be honest.. It was like sugary, oily water, mixed with honey.. however just a second later the feeling of something else touching the tongue made me scream in terror.. It wasn't necessary to see what it was to guess.. the swollen tongue was going inside of my own mouth, sharp and covered in the sweet oily substance.. I would gag if I could, I would throw up if I could.. but it was in control.. and it continued to slide the thick tongue deeper, sliding on the surface of my own tongue, like a sled on a road. If I'd have to choose a scale for the thing sliding inside my mouth, I could easily shout "banana for scale" and be a hundred percent right.. It was as thick.. and THAT.. moved inside my mouth, touching the cheeks, the top of the mouth and the...the teeth with its sharp end, as if studying and looking around.. It was the most disturbingly disgusting french kiss in my life.. it didn't hurry at all...

" Get it over with.." - I kept my eyes shut, trying to think about anything else but what was happening now.. didn't work at all.. The tongue of the wasp moved towards my throat, waving and pushing.. until I felt my throat contract and the tongue move under the pressure it was making.. IT made me start swallowing... and the tongue of the wasp, like a tentacle - went on with its task.. moving into my throat and down.. There was no gag reflex, it just went right in, moving and controlling my body as it pleased.. one of the hind claws went on to feel my stomach.. and I felt the long tongue of the creature approach its destination. All I could hear was the loud slushing noise, like someone was loudly chewing.. I felt the oily, honey-like substance drip from my mouth, moving along the patchy hair of my beard and onto the chest.

Then.. it started.. Contracting and thickening in waves, the tongue started pumping.. I guess force-feeding would be the closest thing to this.. but to me.. it felt like reverse throwing up. By the shape of the things that were going into my stomach along with the liquid.. I could tell that they were eggs. They weren't all that large.. just the size of a marble.. somehow strange considering the size of the bug... but there were quite a lot of them.. I counted over thirty...focusing on the numbers, trying to deafen out the feeling and the sounds by screaming in my mind..

I wasn't able to tell when it all stopped.. But my head was placed back on the soft moss.. which was just the surface of the wasps nest.. And I laid there.. staring at the ceiling.. ignoring the sounds that came all around me. I didn't see the stones, I didn't want to.. only the darkness..

The wasps left.. but I could feel the occasional twitching inside of my stomach.. the eggs were going to hatch sooner or later..
