Chapter 731: [Impending Disaster]
Aileen Cahlo’s right hand held a refurbished M3A automatic rifle (Custom Edition).
After surveying the surroundings, her left hand made a gesture.
Her group then continued forward.
Although a girl of young age, Aileen was considered one of the top leading Superhumans in the entire world.
She was Allen’s friend in the previous as well as the former world. Known to be the daughter of a soldier and proficient in all sorts of combat, whether it's cold weapons or hot weapons, especially involving knives and blades. She's a Master. However, she can be said to be a bad-ass too with her superhuman strength and lightning speed. She’s among the top in terms of combat and superpower.
As one of the top brass of one of the strongest and most influential organizations/Country in the current world after Cataclysm, Aileen was the leader of the combat army of the Bianchi Family and among its most famous {Guardian}. and similar to Lieri Del Con, also directly report to the Princess herself, with authority second only to the War Princess herself. She was one of the Guardians and Kings that protects the Family like the knights of the Roundtable of King Arthur.
With her father’s wisdom and her innate intelligence, she was a reliable commanding officer. Currently, under the princess of the Bianchi Family; Mia Bianchi’s personal orders, she was leading her troop through a barren mountain ridge, allowing them to gain a clear line of sight. Everything within an area of over ten kilometers was within the scope of their vision. As for trees that could block the sunlight, Aileen did not seem to care much about them.
At this moment, the snow is getting bigger and bigger.
This is the biggest snow in the year and the flowers are gone. The white disaster covered the earth, bringing with it a freezing cold that could kill an ordinary man within a few minutes. The most beautiful Pearl of the new Pacific Ocean, Italica, also lost its former prosperity due to the thick snow and freezing cold.
If not for the fact that the Bianchi Family, led by the infamous Princess of Italica, had many preparations for this incoming disaster, the entire Italica would have been slowly corroded with the stench of death, especially the slums outside the city that will be affected greatly, would certainly mourn everywhere.
Decaying wooden houses would collapse in large numbers, and the rest will crumble in the heavy snow.
Along with them, would be the order and life of the citizens!
How many poor people would survive this snowstorm this year?
It would have been a tragedy that could shake the foundation of a great country like Italica.
Regardless of what had happened, the Bianchi Family had done all the things they could.
In this chaotic era, the life of man and goblin is the least valuable thing.
The poor are as stubborn as the grassland. And now this land is blocked by the gods. After a few years of death, they filled up a batch. Perhaps they didn’t even care if they lived for years.
If this is before, Mia will also sympathize with these people. However, she knows that this is not the time.
Now, their focus turned into something else.
The smell of gunpowder was so heavy the entire city felt the tension till their bones.
An intense battle…is coming!
… …
Large expanses of greenery often signified unpredictable dangers.
The howls of monsters and beasts echoed from within the mountains. Aileen immediately looked towards the direction of the noise, and her pupils quickly dilated and contracted, and her eyeballs’ shape also seemed to correspondingly change a bit.

Without using any binoculars, her eyes locked onto several small black specks several kilometers out. Only now did Aileen raise her magic binoculars, and from within the lens, she could see several gray and black dyed monsters. They were currently restlessly roaming about the reddish-brown cliffs, and from time to time, they would roar towards the sky.
The range of Aileen eyesight was only four to five times that of a normal human’s. And so she was able to pinpoint easily the sudden tension that had appeared within the mountains.
Currently, she was tasked by the Bianchi Princess to survey and inspect the neighboring areas around Italica.
The war had already started, and Aileen understands that this might be one of their hardest troubles yet. Without information, this war might become even more troublesome.
Raising her head to look at the sky, the entire sky was dyed with crimson and white and thick snow continued falling as if without end. If not because of their evolutions, probably, this temperature is enough for her and the rest of her team to freeze in this cold.
Even still, a cold is still cold.
However, another problem came out…
“Fuck! Those fellows look like they’ve grown larger in size again.”
Aileen couldn’t help but cursed a few times and set out with her men towards a valley in a different direction.
These detestable monsters were able to move about under the powerful cold for some reason. These were creatures that would usually rest or sleep on cold days. However, Aileen did not need to know these things. Through her experiences, she deduced that there was a monster’s den within the mountains and valleys, and that was all she needed to know.
Most monsters regarded Cold Seasons as the mating season for the monsters, and so there should be a few small monsters that have only recently weaned within the den. Her mission was to find out information about these monsters and their variations, as well as report back if there are any new unknown creatures that have emerged. Lastly, she had to bring back a few monster corpses to be researched within the base.
Typically, this mission required Aileen and her men to walk around the wilderness for half a month, but the difficulty wasn’t that high. This wasteland region that stretched roughly a hundred kilometers in circumference was something Aileen knew like the back of her hand. The places that were suitable for different species to live in were things she could recite with her eyes closed. As for her nine-man party, even if they encountered a large crowd of monsters with over a hundred monster beasts, they would still be able to deal with them.
However, the biggest problem lies in how quickly everything changed in this world.
One of them was the biting cold!
As long as one didn’t have any abilities to resisting cold or ice type abilities, staying outside for a long time is dangerous. The only thing that caused them to disregard the cold was because of their high-end equipment and power levels. But it would not last for long as monsters propagate faster than cockroaches.
The level and power of these monsters are also becoming even stronger and deadlier.
Aileen had personally witnessed the gradual enlargement of the monster horde. At first, a single bullet would be enough to deal with a Lv6 and above monster using a special magic-enchant bullet, yet now, they frequently needed to be shot two or three times successively before dying. Their movement speeds were becoming faster, and their bodies were only getting stronger.

From what the base’s research director said as well as Mia and the others' confirmation and memories from the ‘former world’, in this season, the monsters that will appear will become even stronger than normal. Original Lv2 monsters would, because of the sudden change in the world, will have an upgrade. Some monsters on average were 20% heavier, their muscles became 30% more powerful, and their nimbleness increased by 30%. In addition, their defensive capabilities improved by almost a half.
Normally, this would not bother most Superhuman and Adventurers but if the higher beings also receive an upgrade—well, even if it’s a bit, that would be a different matter!
Aileen naturally didn’t want to bother all this, nor did she have any interest in knowing and understanding why or how this all began. Her thinking was much simpler: the monsters and magical beasts are growing larger and becoming more and more dangerous. Her small troop that could defeat several hundred lv4-5 Monsters in the past, but now, they could only deal with no more than a pack of a hundred now; that was all there was to it. Even though the situation seemed to still be within the base’s control, each time Aileen left for her mission, the bad feeling in her mind would become stronger.
What if the monsters' bottom line will possess the power of a 5th level monsters, and had the wisdom of man? This thought had crossed Aileen’s mind more than once.
To Aileen and her well-trained small troop, the best of the best within the Bianchi Family, several kilometers of mountain roads were merely half an hour of travel. When the ferocious monsters and beasts above the mountain cliff saw Aileen’s group, they all concealed themselves.
Saliva dripped down as they bared their fangs, and a low roar continuously sounded within their throats.
Wolves, Bears, Tigers, any kind of beasts, and there are even humanoid ones.
However, most monsters seen in the mountain were that of the Wolf Family. And this was the typical behavior pack type monsters such as wolves, displayed when they were protecting their territory, indicating that the monster’s den was right behind them. Inside, there were still quite a few young monsters that had not weaned. They were unable to keep up with the larger wolves yet.
However, it doesn’t mean their danger level is as low as a puppy!
They might be as small as a cub but not only their innate danger was high, but the fact that monsters grow in a rapid speed like goblins is also one of the most troublesome things about them. Avert your gaze for a moment and when you returned, you will see a monster already baring their fangs at you!
They are creatures that cannot be ignored just because they are insignificant.
And Aileen understands this too well!
Within the Mountain outside Italica, the Monster’s territory was quite large. The valley full of caves likely only had packs of ferocious wolves and beasts. Aileen had no desire to search every single cave as it will take too much time and effort. She made a hand signal, and a veteran behind her lifted up her magic-enchanted automatic rifle.
Baaaaang!!
The first round sent a three-meter tall horned wolf flying into the air, and then a second round followed. The third round of fire completely blasted through its struggling body, sending it tumbling backward.
The remaining wolves whimpered and grieved their comrade. However, after a few minutes, casting evil glare full of hate and killing intent, they turn around and fled towards the valley depths with their tails between their legs. Although they look like pathetic dogs, one can tell that they left because they are going to bring some big shots to trample Aileen’s group in revenge.
To this, Aileen can only frown. She then immediately moved her M3A into position as she said, “Hoodwink, your turn!”
“Understood!”
A young man that seemed barely twenty with striking spiky red hair immediately step out. He continuously sniffed this valley region as he walked into the mountain depths. Even though the strong smell of rotting corpses and monsters was everywhere within the mountains and valleys, Hoodwink’s sense of smell was not inferior to the beasts. For him, every single monster's smell was distinct, and since they had just come in contact, there was no way he could be wrong.
The troop walked unhurriedly, yet their pace wasn’t slow as they gradually arrived at the center of the valley. Their goal was extremely clear: it was the cave several hundred meters from their current location.
A few dried bones could be seen at the cave entrance.
It was just like in the past. Aileen left behind two men to guard the cave entrance while he led the remaining soldiers inside to search the cave. She didn’t fear an ambush, because she was confident in her power. Much less, the powerful M3A which was upgraded personally by a certain someone was simply invincible within such a narrow cave. Moreover, from the eight that she brought along this time, five of them were veterans that had experienced over twenty missions with her. Their powers were above their level and they could adapt to any situation.
“Let’s go!”
Aileen softly muttered.
The cave wasn’t deep. They were able to reach the end after walking only thirty meters or so. However, other than a pile of dried bones, there was only a stack of hay. There was no sign of small beasts at all.
Aileen’s face became ashen. She stared at the pile of hay with the corners of her eyes repeatedly jumping. She suddenly used the muzzle of the gun to scatter the pile of hay, and what she saw below was only rocks covered in filth.
There were still no traces of young beasts, much less, wolves.
“Hoodwink, you…”
Before that individual finished his sentence, he was harshly cut off by Aileen.
“Shut the fuck up! Hoodwink wouldn’t make a mistake!” her senses was the greatest of the group, only second to the specialized Hoodwink. Thus, she was certain of this.
Hoodwink’s face paled as he thought about him making a mistake, but Aileen’s support immediately calms him down.
Even still, what is going on here?!
Aileen gnashed her teeth and crouched down. She then fished out a sharp knife to dig up a piece of wolf feces that still seemed relatively fresh. After carefully inspecting it, she suddenly stood up and pulled the trigger on her M3A with a loud noise. Her face pale and she immediately shouted, “This is a trap! We are leaving!”
An old veteran followed behind and said, “Hey, Captain, who could have set up a trap for us? Don’t tell me that you think it is the wolves? Haha…”
He laughed a few times, but after noticing that not a single individual responded to his question, he could only resentfully stop and shrug his shoulders. He also had a bad feeling, but this kind of joke was supposed to alleviate some of the nervousness.
