Chapter 524: [ Scripture Pavilion ]
“I don’t mind; however, please let them stay their hands next time… I might have a slip of hand, that would be a pity…”
Allen muttered indifferently but anyone can hear about the threat hidden within it. He had never liked being spied on. It’s a disgusting feeling as if you are seen naked in public…!
Much less, he was with Laura right now. For her body to be seen by men other than him was something unforgivable--!
If it was not because this sect holds all his members from DAWN, he would have rushed in and beat those people who tried to peek at them. Hmph! Allen snorted.
Squinting his eyes, Allen briefly swept his gaze across the several hidden corners of the pavilion that were concealed by shadows. His keen soul perception informed him that every movement made in this place was being closely monitored by the guards that were concealing themselves.
In several hidden places within the pavilion, Allen noticed that powerful auras were lurking unseen. It seemed that the Sect really held these three Pavilions in great esteem.
Slightly turning his head, Allen exchanged a quick glance with Laura. Both of them noticed a hint of a smile in the other’s eyes. Clearly, the guards that were hidden in the surrounding area had been detected by the two of them.
“… …” Venerable Passing smiled bitterly.
Then, came the indescribable feeling that arose from entering the majestic library. Inside, one couldn’t see the end of the sections. The incomparable vastness of this library was tantamount to the old glory days of the Passing Cloud Sect. The bookshelves were staggered within the brightly lit room. There were all kinds of ancient books placed on the bookshelves, giving it an exceptional scholarly atmosphere.
Though most of these manuals, Allen has no interest. He wasn’t a pure cultivator and he doesn’t need cultivation techniques. The reason that he came here, even as to give a copy of several Saint manuals and magic treasures was that he wanted to see and probably have an insight as to how he would proceed from now on with his journey to power!
One can never have enough knowledge…!
Cultivators go against the will of heavens, control element laws, and grab the understanding of every aspect of this world, thus, Allen wanted to understand them and try integrating them into his own abilities.
When they entered the pavilion, he then saw that there were quite a few disciples present here that were searching for suitable techniques. The moment they saw the group, these disciples hurriedly stop moving and bowed in greetings. They then turned their gazes at Allen—some were curious, some interested, some confused—though Allen’s eyes, which were staring intently at the large library hall, suddenly shrunk. His gaze shifted abruptly. Finally, they stopped on the two grey-robed figures, who were seated cross-legged on the ground.

It must be them… Allen recalled the soul perception that had tried inspecting him.
The quiet atmosphere in the library hall continued for nearly ten minutes before the robes of the two gray-robed human figures seated crossed-legged at the main entrance of the hall moved slightly. Immediately, two pairs of calm, old, well-like eyes, similar to those of an old monk, were lifted slightly.
They swept indifferently across Venerable Passing, Ouyang Yishuang, Laura one at a time before finally and suddenly stopping on Allen’s body. Their gray robes trembled slightly and there was a soft hoarse exclamation that was quietly emitted, “This is absurd!”
The soft sound slowly reverberated through the quiet library, and also clearly entered the ears of Allen and the others.
“May I know what the name of this young friend is?” The gaze of one of the gray-robed men remained on Allen. There was a vicissitudinous that was accumulated with time seeping out from within his hoarse voice.
From the respectful attitude that Venerable Passing had used to treat the two gray-robed men, it was clear that these two people had an extraordinary position within the Sect.
Allen cupped his hands together as he spoke, “This little one, Ye Wushuang, greets both Elders.” Although his tone was respectful and gentle but anyone can hear the aloofness from it.
“Incredible… to have such power in such a young age—indeed, heroes come from the young!”
“Ha ha, I dare not call myself a Hero. A coward is a fitting name for me~” Allen smiled faintly.
The two Elders showed a surprised look, not knowing what Allen was talking about. Thinking Allen was just trying to be humble, one of the Elders muttered politely; “… In any case, we welcome the young friend in the Passing Cloud Sect…!”
“Thank you.” Allen nodded in gratitude.
After talking the two robed men once again closed their eyes and returned to their despondent position.
Seeing them like this, Allen couldn’t help but muse; “This place is indeed worthy of being part of a large Sect. Its heritage is indeed rich.”
“This way little brother,” Venerable passing smiled faintly. He led Allen towards the highest floor of the Scripture Library pagoda that even normal Elders or even Core Disciples have difficulty in entering. The Contribution Points needed to arrive at this level was beyond 1, 000, 000—and most disciples can’t afford that.
As they slowly entered the highest level, over twenty globes flickering with light appeared in their field of view.
Instantly, Allen’s eyes focused on them.

As Allen looked at the beams of lights that passed by, he was able to notice that there were scrolls within the globes of lights. A peculiar Spiritual Energy fluctuation was emitted from them, and it was evident that they were all high-rank Cultivation Arts. Truly, these were the globes containing Cultivation methods and cultivation skills.
These over twenty globes contained Saint and above Cultivation Arts.
When Allen stepped forward, the nearest globe of light suddenly flickered as if agitated. Woosh. It then flew away like a rabbit meeting its prey. But how could Allen missed it with his perception and senses…?
Allen casually extended his hand out and the blob of light was grasped in an instant. When his hand grabbed onto the globe, information quickly flowed into his mind.
Heaven Mountain Thunder fist, Saint Tier Middle-Rank Cultivation Technique. The aura formed was like lightning. It is a tough and overbearing technique which can even shatter mountains and formed rivers. Higher mastery can call upon thunder and lightning and destroy an entire mountain in one attack!
Looking at the globe of light on his hand, Allen’s lips arched upwards.
“Little brother, you can choose what you like.”
“Thank you, Venerable,”
“Ha ha ha, this should what we do!”
Allen smiled as he lifted his head and stared at the beams of light at the very end. He smiled slightly and quickly turned into a beam of light. He rushed over towards the depths of the river of light.

In some part of the Divine Martial Continent, where Jade Heart River Sect was located, within the depths of the multiple mountains existed an enormous cave, a peaceful place within which disciples of Jade Heart River Sect opted to go into secluded meditation.
The stone door outside the cave, which previously been closed, suddenly began to open little by little.
From within, a maiden of only fifteen or sixteen years of age stepped out. Dressed completely in white, her beauty cast a radiant glow onto the surrounding forest, as she resembled a water lily blossoming in the evening.
Outside the cave, there were two youths waiting. Upon seeing the young maiden, smiles appeared on their faces: “Junior apprentice-sister Xue is leaving the gate?”
Xue Rou gracefully laughed as she greeted the two: “Senior apprentice-brothers.”
The two youths returned her greeting. One of them laughed and responded: “Congratulations to junior apprentice- sister Xue for making a breakthrough during your seclusion. One last level and Junior-Apprentice Sister would surely breakthrough Emperor Realm, you’ll soon be able to wear a blue qingpao.”
According to Jade Heart River Sect’s rules, all normal disciples would have to wear white robes. For innately gifted disciples, after their cultivation reached a certain realm, they would be rigorously tested by the Sect. If they passed, they would wear blue robes instead, and, being considered Chosen amongst the disciples, would be nurtured by the clan, like a Heaven Child.
At a level above that, their robes would be lined with a golden trim. Any disciples at this level would be considered core disciples of the Sect and would have a greatly different position from the other disciples. Each core disciple would wield considerable influence—correspondingly, while their privileges and prestige could be considered the highest, their numbers were also the lowest.
Xue Rou lightly smiled and responded: “I’ve only cultivated for a short period, and my foundation is unsteady. I also am lacking in experience from outside training. As for becoming a blue-robed disciple, I’m still a great distance from reaching that level.”
“So does Junior Apprentice Sister left seclusions is surely because of the matters regarding the Despair Grieving Mountain?”
Hearing the words Despair Grieving Mountain, Xue Rou’s eyes sparkled. “Indeed! This time, I would surely breakthrough Ancestor Realm using the opportunities receives from the Despair Grieving Mountain!”
“We and the other senior apprentice-brothers are also tasked by the Sect to enter the Despair Grieving Mountains, I hope that you can give me some pointers along the way.”
“Ha ha, I won’t be presumptuous; my cultivation still needed some work…”
The two youths exchanged glances for a moment, then laughed. In their hearts, they were thinking: “With senior apprentice-brother Long acting as a strong tree to block the wind and rain for us, this Despair Grieving Mountain would be a cinch…!”
“Despair Grieving Mountain…” Xue Rou turned around and stared at large mountain covered with dense black clouds. The time is coming again… before, she could only hide and wait in fear but now… she was certain that it wouldn’t be the same as before!
She would conquer the Despair Grieving Mountain and bring glory to her Sect…!

Life, the struggle for existence
What would happen when man had to, once again, fight for its own right to live? Would the evolutionary counterparts of our ancestors manage to life through the struggle for survival? What would happen to society if a new reason for living came up, other than the enjoyment of the well-built environment? A reason that could either unite or destroy humanity. This is the struggle for their right of existence. As earth and its inhabitants are faced with the fear of unknown danger and the peril of monstrosities, some will falter, some will die and some will live on to tell the tales of those forgotten. As reality dictates, most will be part of the first two groups and only a small faction will be part of the latter. *This is my first attempt at writing fantasy, so I do hope you’ll enjoy it. The story is one of apocalyptic nature, with gigantic monsters, unfathomable powers and also a critial view on humanity and what it means to be human. I will definitely try to stay away from any tropes that are not neccesary to write fantasy, as I thoroughly despise non-creativity. There shall be no harems, no unrealistic behavior and absolutely no standard scene of dimwitted bandits that try to rob whatever similarly rock-brained princess they encounter. The main character is not black and white, because no human is completely good or completely evil. They’re human, not some idealistic concept of what one is supposed to be. Enjoy!Warning: Tagged 17+ for the occasional strong language and violence, some mild sexual content can occur in the distant future.
