Chapter 464: [ Hall of Incarnations ]
"Don’t look at its eyes!" Qin flashed in front of them and warned the both of them when he saw the golden flames in Hanjin’s eyes dancing dangerously.
Laughing out loud, a spiritual force shot out of Hanjin’s golden eyes. Although the three of them did not stare directly into its eyes, they felt the tremor on the spiritual level. It was a unique force that was similar to desolation which directly affected their souls. Although they managed to avoid looking at its eyes, they felt uncomfortable.
Fiona directly spat out blood while Sheeya’s face instantly paled. This was coercion, a mental type skill that possesses deterrence ability. Hanjin knew that it wouldn’t affect Allen, in fact, it would affect those equal or above in strength, but for those below, it was extremely effective.
He was, after all, a Monster King! His prestige and presence were enough to deter most creatures in the world. If a pawn and below class monsters was hit directly by it, they would surely be killed on the spot!
Fortunately, Sheeya and the others possess the protection of Allen’s aura, which was a sign of them being Allen’s subordinates. Thus, it can somehow offset Hanjin’s powerful aura. Besides, Sheeya was originally a Banshee Spirit, spiritual attack like this could be easily be repelled—even still, they still receive quite a significant amount of damage due to Hanjin’s real power level.
Damn it! Looking at Sheeya and Fiona’s pained expression; Qin had never imagined that the impact would be this significant. The force of the ability even brought out fear in her; it was a feeling that she had not experienced for a long time since she had arrived in this world.
“As expected of a real Monster King!” Qin frowned as she looked at Sheeya and Fiona. The both of them were clearly experiencing it worse than she was.
“Sister Qin! Don’t fight too much you just recovered!” flying towards them, Lan appeared beside Qin. She was frantic a moment ago due to Qin’s serious condition but fortunately, she had managed to evolve into that of a Phoenix Race, albeit a mutation. In terms of healing abilities, although not among those top creatures with varied healing abilities, but Phoenix is actually one of the most sought in terms of overall recovery!
[ Phoenix Tears ] a very a high-grade healing water. Just one drop can cure almost any injury in an instant. Although due to her being a mutation and not a real pureblood phoenix, the rate and strength of recovery were enough to snatch Qin in the clutches of death after a few minutes. Still, it wasn’t enough for someone who was just recovered to be able to fight immediately… it wasn’t that convenient!
Thus, Lan was extremely anxious and somewhat frantic!
“I don’t have a choice! Master needed me and so I will fight to the death!” Qin’s eyes gleamed in fighting spirit, ignoring Lan’s pleas. She then turned towards the two behind her.
"Don’t be affected by it. It’s not enough to contend with Master’s aura! Pull yourself together! It’s not as invincible as you think!" Qin shouted at the both of them. As Sheeya and Fiona snapped out of their feelings of oppression and despair, Hanjin turned his head slightly and glared at Qin. It seems like he was a bit hurt by what Qin had said. What do you mean by not enough to contend against Allen’s aura?
Just who does she think he is?
In terms of power, level, experience, and age—he was far more than Allen could ever be…!
He can even be considered Allen’s *senpai in being a Monster King as well as in life! (In Japan, *senpai is an honorific for an upperclassman or a mentor figure.)
And yet, he was inferior compared to Allen…?
Does this woman wanted to die first…?! She seems to be already tired of living...!
The flames in Hanjin’s eyes were swirling in anger. Not enough…? Not enough your face!!
Suddenly, Qin sensed that she was gripped with an intense sense of crisis. Without thinking twice, Qin released her lightning, forming into a barrier and leaped backward. A flame spear came out of nowhere and collided with her lightning barrier…
The flame spear struck her with a strong force and the lightning barrier almost destroyed in an instant causing her to spit out a mouthful of blood, causing her pale face to become even paler.
“Sister Qin!!!” Lan and the others immediately protected Qin and attacked Hanjin.
“Dare to look down on this king, you are courting death woman…!!” Hanjin roared enraged. “Just because you are mythical beast doesn’t mean you are something! I can even kill you with just a brushed of my tail and you dare look down on this king?!!”
“Don’t kid yourself! My Master will put you in your shoes today! Just wait! What you did to us, Master will certainly pay you a hundred fold!!” Feeling Hanjin’s fury, Qin didn’t step back and roared in a crazed manner. If Hanjin was crazy, she was far more crazy than him!
“Heh, pay me a hundredfold?!” Hanjin snorted. “I will kill you and then your master! He’s also a monster king so his flesh and blood should be a delicacy! I will devour him and my power will certainly rise!”
“You dare!!”
“Hahaha, my current form, even a Peak Mid God will die much less your master!! He might have a chance before but now, that chance had already disappeared long ago! I will turn all of you into my nourishment!!” Hanjin roared in excitement. He was sure that if he managed to devour Allen’s body, his power would skyrocket in a new realm he had never imagined!
Allen’s constitution is just that special and unique!
Even his blood would help a King realm break through Emperor realm or even a Lesser God!
Allen might be a mishmash of races but that makes his flesh and blood even more valuable!
It was even to the point that Allen was a world treasure!
If he wouldn’t devour him, isn’t this too much of a waste of natural resources??! He might get struck by lightning as a punishment if he wasted food!
Just thinking about it, made Hanjin so excited. But Hanjin’s excitement and expression and instantly angered Qin and the other women. This monster is thinking of devouring their master—?!!
He’s crazy!!
He’s a madman!
He deserves to die!!
Kill!
Kill him, slaughter him! Turn him into a stew instead!!
All the beasts’ movements stopped, and they turned to look at Hanjin. The crimson fires blazing in there, consumed by the fury which surge through them. every other creature surrounding suddenly took a step back, as though Qin and the rest’s mere line of sight were exerting physical pressure on them.
And among whose fury was the strongest was Qin, Lan, Fiona, and Sheeya--within their glares was the purest rage.
“YOU TRAAAAAAAASSHHHH! YOU DARE! YOU DARE SAY YOU WILL DEVOUR MY FATHER….?!!! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU! KILL YOU! KILL YOU!! KILLLLL YOUUUUU!!!!” Sheeya was the most affected, her hands constantly trembling, feeling as if her nails would split her gloves. She seemed to have lost herself due to intense anger. So intense was her fury that the rest of the beasts around her were struck speechless. Her shoulder moved as though she was panting.

“If you dare do that I won’t let you off for this! I will kill you!” Crazed murderous intent also filled Qin’s eyes. The only thing that runs inside her mind was to kill this disgusting monster and chop it into pieces!!
Monster king?! Who cares!
“I won’t even spare your ghost!”
A Peak Mid God?! Who cares!
Qin would do everything in her power to kill Hanjin for treating their master as food!! even a mere thought of it was unforgivable!
Even if she died in the process, she needed to drag this disgusting pervert to hell!!
It seemed that Qin and Sheeya’s shrill and mournful scream had split-open the blue dome of heaven within the strange dimension. The autumn wind rustled. The women’s hair started to drift about like dead leaves as the whistling sound of the blowing wind got louder and louder.
Even then, Qin and the others somehow exuded a sense of beauty which appeared malevolent and demonic.
The pupils of Hanjin’s eyes suddenly shrank. He felt a chill run through him. He trembled a little as his intuition warned him about the people before him. He felt somewhat ashamed at getting frightened. I am a great Peak Mid God Monster King. Yet, just a few words from these young people made me nervous? That’s unreasonable!
“You’re courting death!!”
Hanjin flew into a rage because of his shame and anger as he rushed towards Qin and the others. He then rebuked, “Smelly whore! Your death is at hand, and yet you talk like this?! Don’t trust too much in your confidence; else I’ll kill you right now!”
“Bring it on! I will drag you to hell with me, even if it’s the last thing I will do in this world!!” Qin roared in intense anger. Her voice rang out like muffled thunderous. When she moved, Lana and the others also moved.

“Damn it!! Why am I doing this?!!!” Similar to the intense battle in the sky, the ground was also filled with a stench of blood and flesh. And among them, was a woman with beautiful feathery wings akin to that of an angel.
She was beautiful and outwardly in terms of appearance—however, at this very moment, with her face and white clothes tainted by blood and the ferocious expression on her face, one can’t help but be scared if one see her like this.
“What did I do wrong to be punished like this?!!” Feriat continued to scream in anger as she brandished her sword. Then, activating her ultimate speed she unleashed consecutive hits. The surrounding monsters’ heads immediately exploded.
As soon as she got rid of the monsters that tangled around her body, Feriat lifted her head and looked at the others fighting in the sky. Her once hateful enemy and turned master was suspended in the sky covered with dense magic power as well as flames blazing around him.
Just what is he doing… really?!!
Then her attention turned towards the Monster King with a body covered by boiling magma and flames. It was being besieged by several people but it was clear who was having the advantage. She guessed that it would only last a few minutes and these people would certainly end up being killed.
Should I go up and help…? When this thought appeared inside of her, Feriat’s body trembled and her face shook in disbelief. What did she just thought? Help? Oh my god!
Why would I care if they live or die…?
No, it should be that it’s better if that bastard dies…!!
Am I insane? Am I turning crazy…???
Feriat can’t believe what was appearing inside her mind. Besides, even if I help, what would I do with these troublesome monsters?
Around her, monsters were attacking at an alarming speed and there were a large number of them. No matter how many she killed, it seems as if they came up from a factory machine, endless…!!
The monsters helping her fight, that strange rodent, fox, wolves—they could only manage to fight for a moment of time, a few minutes later they would surely be besieged and killed in this flood!
So troublesome…!
Did I just ride a sinking pirate ship…??
"If this continues, I have no idea how long it’ll take to clear all these monsters. We'll be in trouble if another horde of monsters come over again!" In just a short moment, Feriat grit her teeth in frustration and decided to activate her top speed and strength, sneaking into the monster horde like a ghost.
Complementing her speed with absolute strength and swordsmanship, Feriat made her way through the monster horde like a ghost. It was a quick, clean attack as she killed all the surrounding monsters with just one hit. There were dead bodies of the monsters wherever she passed.
She almost looks like a Death God, so to speak!
Like a loach among the monster horde, she wriggled freely. Meanwhile, there were dead bodies collapsing all over every spot that she passed.
In less than ten minutes, Feriat alone had killed up to hundreds of monsters.
“Hey, you bastard ape woman! Don’t throw your scraps in my direction! I was almost hit by that, oh not again, I said don’t—Ah, mouuu!!! This dumb bastard!!” Feriat grit her teeth in anger as she glared at Ape who was leisurely throwing and smashing the monsters like a damn bulldozer. No matter how much Feriat cried out, it seemed like Ape won’t care about her as long she could kill many monsters and smashed them into pulps! She resembled a slaughter machine that would not know fatigue at all.
Angry and full of hate, Feriat sneaked into the monster horde at the right side, completely avoiding Ape who ignored her in frustration. She killed the monsters like what she did previously.
There was not much difference between Bishop and below Magma monsters and beasts and even those much stronger than it was nothing much against her. Thanks to her power and strength, she managed to defeat all the monsters easily. Only one hit was needed to kill Bishop and below monsters. Similarly, she did not require a second hit to kill King Class monsters and the frequency of her attack remained unchanged.
As the battlefield didn’t weaken and instead intensified even more, at this very moment, Allen opened his eyes. When he finally returned to his senses, he was standing in the air with his palms already close to each other and the two Soul Essences finally slowly merged with each other.
“I said, get lost!!!” Hanjin cried out in anger. When he was about to deal with Allen, these bastards who didn’t know their standing just kept on stopping him no matter how many times he blasted them away. They stood up like some freaking zombie in a horror movie and then rushed towards him without concern for their lives.
Crazy!
Totally insane…!
And Hanjin was starting to lose his patience when suddenly he felt a weird fluctuation of mana.
He whipped his head and turned toward Allen who was floating in the air. However, paleness gradually surfaced on his face. He could see that the two colored Soul Essence had already completely merged at this moment. White and Crimson colors alternate and then shot in all directions while fog-like mist wiggled continuously, as though there was something about to break out.
“Has he really created it?” Hanjin eyed the strange ball of Soul Essence which was repeatedly wiggling in Allen’s hand. He involuntarily swallowed a mouthful of saliva and said in a quivering voice.
“I thought that you were a strange but a good monster king that has some honor… but surely I was wrong.” As Hanjin stared at the Soul Essence in Allen’s hands, a voice suddenly rang out grabbing his attention. His voice extremely cold.
Allen was currently staring at him with a pair of eyes burning in mad fury. Thick murderous intent radiated from his body as he coldly muttered, “Bullying women… is it fun…? Huh?”
“… …”
“The pain you give them, I will pay you back a hundredfold, you bastard tiger! You better wait for it!”
Under Hanjin’s dumbfounded gaze, the fireball in Allen’s hand hurriedly wiggled. An instant later, the fireball suddenly burst apart. The light from the fire shone brightly, and a black obsidian menacing horned skull burning in flames the size of a palm curled up from within the fireball. After which, it was suspended above Allen’s right hand.
“What are you—?!!”
Allen smiled coldly as he grabbed the Soul Essence and suddenly push it into his chest!
He watched as Hanjin was frantically charging towards him, wanting to stop him. Allen smiled and prepared himself when—Hanjin stopped.
“Hm?” He was prepared to block and confront him, but what happened next dumbfounded him.
He frowned as he saw Hanjin stopping midway, however, it was strange because Hanjin was still in her charging position and even his appearance was still in the panic state. Then, Allen finally noticed, Hanjin wasn’t the only one, Qin and the others with their ragged appearance that gave ache into his heart also stopped in their position.
What is this…? Did time…stopped…?
Ba-dump!
As Allen was confused, he suddenly heard a sound—one that everyone was familiar with, yet normally not aware of. The sound was like that of a heartbeat, clear and distinct as it echoed around.
It was so loud that Allen felt as if a drum was being beaten just right beside his ears
Badump! Badump! Badump!
A weak heartbeat began to turn stronger—Stronger and stronger…
When Allen was in confusion as to what was happening, suddenly, a fiery beam of light shot out from every corner of his mind and stabbed his eyes. It was as if even his eyes were consumed by the flames. In his pained vision, the world in front of him suddenly opened up into an expanse of light.
In the light, a shadow gradually floated over, like a large rug that paved a path in front of him.
As Allen stepped forward, suddenly two figures appeared at the side of the pavement. A familiar Dragon at the right side, an Angel with black glossy wings at the left. Then, when he reached approximately five meters, other figures appeared. A Firebird at the right and a Beautiful Holy Woman at the left—when they appeared, the pavement flickered and disappeared, only to be replaced by a golden throne.
Allen stared at the figures but they breathe no life—as if made of glossy jade, they just stood there like lifelike sculptures.
What is this…?
“Master, welcome to the Hall of Incarnations~” Lime appeared in front of him and smiled beautifully.

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.
