Chapter 398: [ Monster Attack (3) ]
Down the walls, the monster and demons were rushing without breaks. Their speed was extremely fast as they were already less than hundred meters away from the City walls and anyone could clearly see that there were all sorts of huge monsters mixed in –some were even more than five meters in size and daunting.
From the top, Allen observed the monster hordes, finding different sizes and species among them, including wolf –type beasts to lesser dragon type monsters. All the beasts had been gradually getting closer to the front of the city wall.
Roooaaarrrr!!
Raaawwwwwrrr!!
Arrrroooaaaa!!!
The terrifying monsters roars were like thunder booming, and every one of them began to frantically bolt towards Aryan City.
Suddenly, Allen caught sight of thirty –foot –tall giants with bright blue skin and icy gray hair. They were particularly eye-catching as they stood up among the others.
"Jotuns? No, that should be Titans," Eerika muttered bitterly. "The giants of Mount Othrys. It’s a bad sign that they sided with the Demons. They're troublesome."
"You've met them before?" Allen turned his head and asked.
Eerika nodded. “We had experienced a war like this before. That time both Jotuns and Titans were present. Fortunately, the Olympian arrived on time and we managed to avoid large casualties. The barrier was almost destroyed too… we really thought that was the end,” Eerika smiled bitterly.
“Hmm,” Allen returned his gaze and looked at far away. The front line of monster hordes has already entered within 50 yards. At this moment, “Charge!!!” A deafening cry echoed through the entire City wall.
In an instant, dozens of warriors and soldiers left the city wall valiantly and jumped, body shining in different colorful auras.
Boom!!
Several men landed on the ground and left deep footprints on the sandy ground. With determined faces and bursting fighting spirit, they charged.
Boom! Boom! Boom!!
Like dozens of gigantic hulks descending from the sky, the warriors shook the ground as they landed in full force!
“Eat this!!!” A bulky and excited man throw his huge axe forward forcefully after his deafening roar.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh -!!!
The axe turned into a grey shadow and spun insanely, tearing up the air and even the space around it.
BOOM!!!
Many shrieks and roars could be heard and blood spurted to the sky and fell back down like a ‘blood rain’.

The huge black axe smashed into a group of monsters leading the horde and in just an instant, several dozens of monsters were dead!
What nonsensical power.
This had become the signal to start the war!
Magic and weapons danced into the battlefield.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Explosions of great intensity were suddenly heard that could harm even the ears of those standing from behind the barrier. Even the low-level warriors and normal citizens standing on the top of the walls couldn’t endure and were forced to cover their ears. The exploding sounds were simply too frightening.
While warriors were fighting beneath the walls, over ten meters away from them arrows suddenly poured down from the sky like a torrent of rain. A shower of death.
The battlefield was extremely chaotic.
The warriors outside the wall were fighting the monsters and demons courageously while the people on the wall were extremely busy shooting arrows and magic alike. No one dared to relax and stop, they exerted all their powers and strength until they fainted from exhaustion.
All of it, to save their own, kin, family, and friends!
They were determined to fight till death just to protect them all!
Amidst the chaotic and noisy battlefield, Allen was still watching the battle from the top of the watchtower calmly and indifferently. Obviously, he was also not the only one doing so with a calm gaze as most powerful experts; especially Mid Gods were staying at the back area as well. This was still not their time to shine.
They were more of a backup rather than vanguards and soldiers.
Everyone’s ears were filled with roars and loud battle cries.
Both the attackers and the defenders were giving the battle everything they got.
It was either you die or I die.
Waves of monsters were charging at the City walls like a black tsunami.
Blades carved into flesh and blood sprayed out.
A human head came apart like a watermelon being split at the seaside.
The sound of the sword hit echoed around and explosions exploded like fireworks in the middle of the day.
There were shouts of men facing their dooms and bitter cries of suffering but no one dared to step back!
This is for my family!!
This is for my loved ones!!
This is for my friends!!
This is for my Clan!!
This is for my Honor!!
After thinking about the consequences if ever these monsters enter the city and wreak havoc, all the warriors were motivated to fight and their morale was so high that the blood in their bodies was almost burning up!

They couldn’t allow the monsters to break the barrier of the City Walls. Even if they die, they weren’t going to back off.
“Charge!!”
“Charge!!!!!!!!”
The soldiers and warriors rushed simultaneously furiously charged into the group of monsters without fear.
Their powerful swings forced off all the close monsters with the closest one not even having time to react before they smashed and pierced their heads. None of them could stop the heroic monster –like heroes that had taken the frontlines with extreme bravery and power.
Smash! Crush!
Bang!
Weapons, armors and bare knuckles were colliding. Arrows fall down like raindrops and magic spells exploded like hand grenades and missiles.
All of them ignored the surrounding as the brown Desert were strewn with corpses and bodies and remains, and the brown fine sands were dyed a reddish black by dried blood, and the brighter red of freshly-spilled blood flowed from humans and monsters alike.
This scene was almost like a painted picture of Hell.
Yet, no matter how grueling and terrifying it was, nobody could spare a thought for those blood and gores. All their attentions were focused on the enemy in front of them while they bit and clawed, hacked and slashed with their swords and weapons.
At the top of the city walls, the warriors and archers sent a volley of silver arrows into the enemy line, destroying twenty or thirty monsters in an instant, but more marched behind them.
Grooooaaarrr!! At this moment, two huge giants finally managed to reach the City Wall.
Seeing these monsters, warriors and archers alike instantly panicked.
Even the Mid Gods were about to move especially when the two giants raised their clubs intending to smash the barrier when –
Baaaaang!!!
A bolt of lightning crackled out of the sky and fried the two giants into black grills, causing them to fall down. They seemed to still be alive but another round of thunderbolts struck the two giants until they stopped moving.
This scene startled the group but a second later, most of the Deities within the group realized who the cause of it was. They then turned their gazes almost simultaneously towards the still nonchalant black coated youth, sitting cross-legged at the top of the watchtower while supporting his chin with his hand.
His attitude was extremely leisurely that no one would be able to imagine that he was the one who had cast that terrifying magic spell, almost similar to High Gods such as Zeus, Thor or Indra.
Seeing his behavior, all the Mid Gods can’t help but feel gratified for his appearance. With him being here, they would not need to fear that the barrier would be destroyed and the people behind the walls would be slaughtered.
Of course, with them being here, such the case would be unlikely.
However, nothing was absolute.
Although they were confident in their powers but, sometimes, even if they were there, there would be a time when they wouldn’t be able to protect all the people. But now, with additional God like Allen, their confidence to protect the city soared.
They were about to fly towards Allen when suddenly a huge pressure appeared covering the entire battlefield.
CREEEEEK!!!
The shriek echoed through the entire Desert. Godkins, High humans and monsters alike froze in terror.
The Elders glanced at each other, sending panicked looks. "Why does that sound like . . . It can't be!"
“No, that can’t be! Those monsters had been extinguished a few years ago!”
As they shot panic looks one after another, something was changing in the center of the battlefield.
A dozen of sand dunes rose up one after another.
CREEEEKKKK!!!
1, 2, 4…12 giant scorpions suddenly appeared. Over ten-meter tall giant beasts and having a blade-like sharp pincers and venomous stingers.
Their cries froze the air and their appearance terrorize the populace.
“Sandwalkers!!!”
“Aaahhh!! Sandwalkers! Sandwalkers appeared!!”
“Retreat! Retreat!! Back to the City wall!!”
Panic cries and screams echoed as the brave people on the battlefield turned tail and immediately retreated towards the City wall. Even war beaten warriors would never dare to confront these monsters.
With an exoskeleton that has the hardness and toughness of a divine steel that caused any blades and magic spells worthless as well as sharp pincers and venomous stingers that can pierce steel and rocks with ease, these monsters were monsters among monsters!
The giant scorpions swung their pincers and killed people and monsters alike in a crazed manner, then spitting out a cloud of noxious gas.
