“You human pests!!!”

The massive beast roared angrily as she thrashed about underneath the web.

Though the web released by Maria was quite strong, the Lycan Queen was even stronger and it broke free in just a moment later.

Bang!!

If the Holy Maiden’s level was higher compared to the Lycan Queen or even if it was at least close to the monster’s level then the Lycan Queen would certainly have a hard time escaping.

- But sadly, her current level was still quite low!

Though the web didn’t last long, it still has done its job by trapping the Lycan Queen for a moment. Although it hadn’t received any injuries, its previous overwhelming speed had vanished without a trace.

Daniel had managed to gather time - summoning a dozen of water tridents and blades above the Lycan Queen. Even with her strong defense, surely, it wouldn’t be left unscathed after it was rained down by this babies~

Maria also turned around and summoned Angel’s wings, giving her an ability to summon a pair of wings for a short amount of time to fly. Although it consumed a huge amount of mana, it was still nothing with her mana regeneration being the highest amongst the former Kings. This is because of the Legendary Artifact; [ Virgin’s Prayer ].

As long as she remained a maiden, this artifact will give her a huge amount of mana and at the same time protect her from 2 - 3 fatal strikes a day – judging from how strong the attack of the enemy was.

Bang! Bang! Bang!!

Water spells arced through the air and battered the Lycan Queen’s body as they lit up the sky like a brilliant display of fireworks.

“Human Pests!!!” The Lycan Queen growled in anger as she endured the barrage of attacks. ROOOAAARRR!!!

Woosh! At this moment, as Daniel was raining down the Lycan Queen from a top of the tree, suddenly, his spine tingled.

Not good!!

Believing his instinct, he immediately flipped and somersaulted – as expected, a sharp shadow like spear brushed past his cheek when he backflips. When he turned around, he saw a beautiful woman with green hair and sharp ears. She has dark skin so she couldn’t be an elf – A dark Elf?

But judging from the woman’s outfit; gray pointed hat and gray robed – she’s a Witch!!

The witch was mumbling something under her breath and Daniel felt a dangerous premonition.

In a short while, something black and grey colored liquid came out from the ground and started congealing into several sharp spears similar to the one who almost made Daniel into a kebab!

– A metal manipulator Witch?!

Daniel immediately waved his hand in front of him and water like barrier covered his body.

He looked as if he was encased in a bubble.

Daniel gritted his teeth and Splash! Several metallic spears struck the bubble. However, the moment it pierced through the water barrier, it stopped – although two spears successfully pierced his right arm and left leg.

"Uugh-!!!" Daniel couldn’t help but let out a painful groan.

When he descended to the ground, he was suddenly covered by a large shadow. When he turned his head, the enormous Lycan Queen was already behind him, raising her humungous paw.

“Die!” The Lycan Queen snorted as she swung down her paw.

Daniel narrowed his eyes and prepared himself to endure the incoming blow with his water barrier but at this moment, several light spears shot towards the Lycan Queen blowing her a bit.

Daniel immediately took this chance and rolled away, gritting his teeth and ignoring the pain from his wounds.

When he was a few meters away, a golden light covered his body and his wounds slowly closed and recovered – it must be Maria!

Daniel’s injuries instantly healed. Amongst healing priests, Maria’s ability was far above the norm.

Her one heal could heal almost instantly!

Similar to Daniel, Maria was also not in a comfortable position as she was fighting the witch that had appeared.

“Witches don’t have any grudge against the church! Why are you attacking us?!” Maria frowned.

Like the others, she was also wondering about this.

In the previous world, before the Demon Army appeared, Witches likes to stay aloof in worldly affairs and would never get themselves involve in any kind of scuffles or disputes.

There were even no attacks of witches that happened at this time… but why did they appear now?

Why did the history change?

The witch who heard Maria’s question scowled. “So much nonsense!”

“… …”

“Your organization wanted to harm the crown prince… obviously, we will eliminate them!”

The Witch responded as she shot another group of sharp spears.

“Crown Prince?!” The Holy Maiden was befuddled. Who is this Crown prince?

A Witch crown prince? Aren’t most of the witches organization – sisterhood!!?

Maria started to have a headache. This is not in the script, damn it! She almost cursed out loud.

Good actors and actresses know how to follow the script!

Don’t just adlib whenever you wanted it!!

After the witch finished casting the spell, another bout of black and grey liquid came out from the ground and turned into sharp metal stakes. She then shot them towards her.

Maria rapidly retreated. Just as several metal spikes was about to hit her, she suddenly ignored her ladylike character and rolled to the side and narrowly avoided them.

The several metal spikes whizzed past her, striking the ground, and exploded into a shower of sparks.

Maria felt a chill running down her spine. Damn! Was she a Rook Class Monster?

“Are you a Third Circle Witch?!”

“Oh?” The witch stared at Maria in astonishment, “You actually know the ranks of us Witches~”

“So you are?” This is difficult… Maria frowned. With her level, defeating a third circle Witch is a very difficult task.

In the Witch covenant – Witches are rank from the first circle to nine circles.

1st – 2nd circle is about Pawn rank monsters. 3rd – 4th circle are Rook, 5th – 6th Knight, 7th – 8th is Bishop, 9th is Queen and above that – no one knows. In the previous world, the infamous Witch Queen of the North was a peak 7th circle witch with the ability to freeze a country in an instant.

Maria was still a Superhuman and although she has a few attack spells, she was more support and defense type Superhuman. Fighting a Rook monster alone was already asking too much of her!

She turned to her left side and saw Daniel who was also in a disadvantage against the Lycan Queen and to her right was Mark, Yoyo, and Bernard against the Vampire Lord and Vampire Bride as well as several elite werewolves.

Damn it! No one to share misfortune huh!!?

Maria clicked her tongue in displeasure. She was never fond of fighting close-combat but even if that is the truth, she was also not the least bit scared if it comes down to that.

Maria discarded her staff and throws it on the ground.

“O holy God, O Holy Mighty One. Lend me the sword of salvation to expel evil beyond me. Bring forth mercy and spread the light that the Son of God had bestowed us; Holy Sword!!”

Shiiing!! A blinding light suddenly radiated from Maria’s hands and in a blink of an eye, two short swords made up of golden light materializes.

This is the skill called; [ Holy Sword ]an ability commonly used by Paladins and Holy Knights.

It could covert holy power into a weapon.

And the weapons that materialize when using this skill depended on the chanter’s imagination. It can become a spear, one long sword, a staff or a dagger.

Twirling the sword on her right hand, Maria made her battle stance.

Although she couldn’t rival Daniel, Mark, Keneth, Mia, and Allen in sword fight but it doesn’t mean she was helpless and unlearned.

Maria was ambidextrous in nature and so, apart from Allen who was using his skill in wielding weapons, she and Mia could use dual wielding much better than the others!

“Damn it! I hate tiresome stuff like this!” Maria complained.
