Intermission: Souta's Training (Druid POV)
In the middle of the woods, a druid and a human boy are training together, which is one of the most unusual sights you can see.
The druid brushes his hair while thinking.
Hmm.
This guy.
I mean, look at this guy. He’s not giving up, is he?
We’ve been doing the training for making this guy a forest ranger, but I intended to make him see how hard it is and force him to give up.
But right now.
Souta: “Uwagghhh!”
He fell again.
This training is going to make him adept at traveling in the forest.
The training consists of getting up trees and jumping to other trees with a bow and hand.
That means only his feet will be responsible for the climbing.
And this guy. He’s still doing it.
I don’t think we had a human forest ranger for a while because all of them were called out by the kingdom and was made to fight the war.
And this guy sure did not come from a reputable ranger household.
Souta: “Uwagghhh!”
Again.
Druid: “Okay, kid. Let’s take a break.”
Souta: “No. I can do this until evening.”
Druid: “Go ahead.”
And he did.
I won’t tell him that the person that he was trying to follow might already be dead.
I want to see if this kid can shoulder the weight of being a forest ranger.
And to shoulder the role of being the “Main” specifically.
Before I would never have considered taking in a human as a disciple but times are changing. The Spirits tell me of an event that will change the world forever.
A new power will rise and humans will once again be put in a tight spot where they would fight for their lives.

And this power will not discriminate. It will seek to devour and destroy all that it touches. No race will be safe, and once everything has perished, only then will this new "power" rest.
The Druid removed the disturbing prophecy off his mind and decided that it's no use to worry about it now.
I went back to my abode and let him continue his training.
I went to the warehouse of my old equipment.
I wonder.
Will this fit on him? This equipment has been in storage for hundreds of years now. Maybe even more.
I took out the equipment and started on the refitting. The dust has covered the equipment's original glory.
