She sat down opposite the official manning the desk. This one was a woman in her thirties. She had a neatly primmed up bun and wore a grey pants suit.

There were all kinds of documents flying through the air behind her neatly filing themselves in prepared folders and boxes.

Jade rummaged nervously through her backpack gathering the painstakingly prepared documents and handed them over to the clerk.

“Jade Saelee, 18 years old, born May 12th, Guardian Mara Saelee, affiliation Dawn Lotus Sect, initiate number 72.” She looked up adjusting her glasses. “Is this Information accurate?

“Yes.” She nodded nervously. “It’s all in the papers.”

She started typing on her computer and soon the printer spat out a sheet of paper. It showed my Status screen. She read over it carefully and looked up to me.

“Recorded Concept Growth, potential measured high, it even states that you have already unlocked 2 skills. You are quite fortunate Ms. Saelee. I see that you also unlocked the same Concept as your Guardian, although unusual the growth concept is not uncommon.”

“Ah yes, thank you. I too was surprised that I awakened to the same concept as my adopted mother. I was really expecting something different.” Jade smiled as best she could.

“As per the given laws your Potential and Concept will be passed on to your affiliated sect unless you would like to request a government evaluation.” The woman replied in a practice speech.

“No that won’t be necessary, I was planning on officially joining my mother’s sect no matter what concept I awoke to. Now that I have the growth concept I will be welcomed pretty warmly.”

She would definitely not go to a government evaluation and be conscripted into the Emperor’s Legion. They paid well but they also required 10 years of service. Additionally, they regularly went out fighting monsters.

“I see, may I make a recommendation to open up your Status to the open listings. With your concept and potential, I am sure that quite a few bigger Sect would be interested.” The woman gathered up a form with Jade’s details and handed over her official Cultivator ID.

It was a decent enough picture. Her black hair was tied back into a ponytail which left her Jade green eyes in the focus. Jade liked her eyes; it is where she got her name from, and it went rather well with her olive skin.

“I don’t know. I think I would rather reach out to other Sects myself than be swamped by a dozen recruiters.” Jade gathered her things still holding the ID in her hand.

No way could she get more information of herself out there without knowing what her new concept even is. Who knows what data the officials’ machines found out about her? It was better to play it safe and study before jumping headfirst into the cultivator madness.

They said their goodbyes and Jade tried to leave with quick step but not seem too desperate to leave. Making her way through the halls of the Dome she thought back on what she really knew about Concepts.

First off everybody had one, but not all had the potential to develop it. A concept was just that a word or thought that expressed a certain idea. Anybody could use their concept in some ways, some more than others.

For example, someone with the fire concept but a low potential could maybe only heat up a cup of coffee or light a campfire. But someone with higher potential could eventually progress to a level in their cultivation where they can throw around fireballs or conjure animals made of flame to fight for them.

Wait potential, did she say her potential was high? Jade stopped in her tracks and leaned against the wall. Her potential was HIGH, by the emperor no wonder the clerk asked about the open listing.

She was so focused on not panicking and thinking about her new concept she completely missed that part of the conversation. She rechecked her documents.

There it was on the paper. Potential: High. Jade gulped. This should be a time to celebrate and rejoice about her future. But Jade knew what a high potential meant. They would come to recruit her, even if she wasn’t in the open listing. A high potential meant she could cultivate faster reach higher levels faster and get better skills through the crystal system.

This was going to be a problem: she a high potential or how the sect like to call them a genius cultivator. Genius were core disciples’ leaders of their field in cultivation and in Business. They were the heaven blessed prodigies of the Empire. Jade felt like she was not ready for this.

She returned to her path to the outside taking deep breaths along the way. One step after the other first she needed to get back home where she could start to experiment and do more research on concepts and titles.
