《A marvel rise》Chapter 25

After sleeping for a few hours, Alex settled down to observe the coming and going of the facility. As he was watching he was munching on some dry foods. He notice that the guards in the towers, would alway leave at least one inside every time a shift was going on.
"My, my, would you look at that, someone's sleeping on the job." Alex said with a grin. Near the east most tower their was a guard that was yawning and looking bored, not really paying attention to his surrounding. Which create the perfect weak point to infiltrate from.
Alex continued to observe the place all day, taking breaks From time to time and noting the patrol rounds, the time they took where they went and any other info he would needed for tonight. Having a look at the sky and his watch, he figured he should get some sleep, so that he would be in tip top shape for tonight.
"Ready or not here I come." Alex said as he sneak closer to the east side wall. At the wall he use his grappling hook and silently climb over, once he was on top, he made a special knot with the rope that would hold his weigh but would be easy to detach from the ground.
Silently lowering himself down on the other side of the wall, he flick his wrists and rope fell down. He quickly rolled it up and hid the rope behind some metal barrels. He snuck back into the shadows, moving first toward the the building he believe where all the staff were. As he moved toward his destination he heard some sound of walking, he figured it was the patrol passing by, so he went to a spot he had preselected during the day to hid. The patrol pass by none the wiser about his presence, he continued on his way.
Arriving at the building in question, he climb up using the drain pipe, he climb all the way to the roof. He cautiously look around he spoted one guard, the guard was outside near the roof smoking a cigarette.
"I love smokers, they alway create and opening for the rest of us." Alex said in a whisper as he sneak up on the guard.
Sneaking up from behind, he held his nail in his left hand, rushing in he grab the guards shirt with his right hand and pulled back, as he stab the nail in the neck under the skull, penetrating directly into the brain killing the guard before he understood what happen. Alex slowly lowered the body, he then drag it toward the door. He then check the guard and found some keys on him, he open the door an drag the body inside.

During the day he counted 36 guards, theirs was a at least 18 guards on duty, with a rotation of 9 every two hours. So 9 were sleeping, another 9 were on stand by, that left 18 no 17 on duty. As for the teacher their was 5 or more, he wasn't sure if he was missing anyone else since he only scouted for one day. He had already time his entry during the last shift, so he had two hours before they find the body.
He continued down the stairs, moving to the next floor. He open the door of the stairs to the floor, he looking around he didn't see any one around.
"All those years of playing shadow strike, really paid off in this life." Alex said as he briefly let himself indulge in his past life.
Before this life, he had played a virtual reality game that had exploded near the end of 2018 it was an army special forces on steroid. Where player played as a soldier with a team of six sneaking around in enemy bases, you could play as the bases guards or the invaders. Everything in the game was base on real life technic, so sneaking, shooting, lockpick, knife fighting, everything that a real special force could do, in the game a player could also do. He got really good at it in fact he was among the top 50 in the world, he usually fluctuated around number 32 to 46. And that was counting actual veteran soldier that we're also playing the game.
After he started his training as a spy he notice a frightening similarities, with the game and their training. The only difference was that the games technic, we're light years ahead of the training he got as a spy. To his trainers he seem to be a natural at it, a monster even they wrote in their report. Hell he even gave Steve many pointer over the years, since the poor guy only had a two week crash course, before he went all super soldier.
He came across a room that had a sleeping person in a bed, he decide against doing anything for now. Killing a guard was one thing, killing people went he wasn't sure who or what they are was another, he wasn't a maniac, he didn't get off on killing anything that moved every two second. He continued going around if he spoted a guard he avoided them for now. He made it to what look like the headmaster office, he figure he would pook around for a bit, he check his watch making sure he still had time.
"Ok, I give myself ten minutes to look around, if I don't find anything il continue with the plan." Alex said as he move to the desk.

He picklock the cupboard on the desk, but found nothing of interest, he check the office around finding nothing. Until he found a safe behind a panting.
"Classic, always behind a painting." Alex said as he got to work unlocking the safe.
With a click the safe came open, he check his time, he was cutting it close he had less then two minutes left.
"If nothing of remote interest is found il leave the office." Alex said as he promise himself.
Looking trought the papers, he found a ledger that most likely was a account book, he just put it back in the safe not important for now. The next item was of more interest, it was a detail report on all the children progresses, in it he learn that this place held about twenty children of the program called the red room.
Sigh. "Guest that answer my question." Alex said, he continued to read until he found the hydra symbol at the bottom.
"Ok, kill everyone it is." Alex said in a grim voice.
As he keep reading the document, he learn where the kids we're held, he also learned that all of them were in one form or another damage goods. The higher up had decide that once the kids are back to their best heath, they would be use as guine pigs, they would becoming for them in a week.
"Fucking bastard, first they trains children to be merciless killers, and when they break the use them like lab rats. In a way it commendable on their waste nothing policy, but their methods and complete disregard for human life is sickening." Alex said as rage was coursing in his veins, as any mercy he had evaporated, leaving a murderess intent on any hydra scum in the base.
He coldly look at his watch, he had mist his deadline by five minutes. But he didn't really care, having found that this was a hydra base, and the only victims here were mess up kids, gave him an excuse to be completely ruthless with everyone inside the base.
When he left the office he remembered the sleeper, so he creap back to the room, went in and slit his throat, the man open his eyes wide as Alex held him down and watch him die. He continued in this way, now every guard he found he killed in stealth making as less noise as possible.
He also found the servant quarters, he held back because every room had four people in it. He figured he would come back for them once he killed of the teachers and guards. He keep going, until he found the guards waiting room, inside he found the next round of guards all pack into one place. When he counted them he found that their was 11 in the room, so he figure that some weren't in theirs bunks but here.
He knew that their wasn't a guard near by cause he'd just killed him a few moments ago, but just to be sure he backtrack and check the area once more. He found nothing that would jump outvand say boo, so he put on his mask an took one smoke grenade pulled the pin, an slowly rolled it in the room.
The sound of something rolling alerted some in the room, other ignored it. Until one spotted the canister, he snorted as he got up an strutted over.
"{Enough with the jokes, Boris you won't fool us again.}" he said in Russian as he pick up the canister.
Alex had to thank who ever this Boris was cause apparently this trick had been done before, to bad that this time it wasn't a trick. The grenade exploded right in the hand of the guard as he was looking around for Boris. A cry of pain followed smoke covering everything, chaos, panic, anger, disbelief and confusion. It seem not many had understood what was going on.
Alex rush in the smoke, goggles coverd his eyes, mask for his breathing, knifes and gun in his hands they stood no chances. As he moved in the smoke any human shape he came across he either shot or cut down. The ones inside cried out in panic and pain, names were called, prayer were cast, scream for help sounded but as time went by, and more voice were silence, those left began to crawl, stumble or plead for their lives. As the smoke cleared, all eleven guard we're dead, by either bullets or stab and slice. The one common factor was the fear or anger on their faces.
As Alex reload his gun he look around he notice that one or two might be alive, so he when to each and everyone and stab them in the heart just to be sure that they we're all dead.
"That should do for stealth, now let go see if I can find a sniper for the tower guards." Alex said as he made his way to the armory he had notice earlier.

Sara's (not really) Fabulous System Armageddon, Book I: The World Ended at Rush Hour
Planet Earth, Monday, October 7th, 2019. 18:30 * * On a fateful day, during rush hour in eastern North America, Heavens and Hell crumbled and fell from their higher dimension on Earth. It came from "above" but not the same above we regard in our tridimensional Euclidean reasoning. No, it came from "above" as in from a higher dimension. Bits and pieces of those places fell on Earth from all directions, this time in tridimensional Euclidean space. Satellites, the ISS, and space debris all were wiped clean from orbit. Even those that didn't crash with the falling debris were knocked off orbit by the shockwaves. On the ground, power distribution lines were disrupted and most power facilities were left abandoned by their dead staff. Most of these had emergency shutdown routines that engaged in a few days. Some others had a survivor among their staff that followed protocol and activated their SCRAM switches, stopping the power plant. Long-distance communication disappeared the internet along with it. The world was plunged into technological darkness. Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand human beings perished immediately in the pulse of magical energy from the torn spatial boundary. Spirits were rent asunder and vanished, their fate neither salvation nor damnation, only oblivion. The criteria used for this culling was latent magic potential. It didn't discriminate against education, gender, age, or ethnic group. But of the around seven million survivors, most would meet their doom moments later. Those on moving vehicles, like the ones driving on highways suddenly had to contend with high-speed uncontrolled cars and trucks driven by corpses. Trapped in their vehicles and helpless, they became part of the long snake of crushed metal. Very few survived. Those in the air or out in the sea were alone and probably unable to control their rides. Airplanes crashed, and ships kept their course or drifted away, depending on their autopilot. Several ended their own lives in utter despair after seeing their loved ones die in front of them. Another large group would die at the hands of other survivors. Violence and aggression became the norm. Only a few sparse pockets of not-so-sane survivors managed to band together and cooperate for the sake of mutual survival. The sole survivor in a five-over-one apartment building in Georgia, a girl became the keystone to humanity's survival. Sara's fabulous System Apocalypse had just started. She has only one remark. It was anything but fabulous. * * Updates every Wednesday and Sunday.
