Volume 3 - Chapter 9: The plans

The three figures that were sent by Garoth finally arrived in the Demon Realm. They arrived by using an interplanetary transportation gate that is controlled by Garoth. The transportation gate was first created by Kami-sama since in the past, the people normally traveled through teleportation and that took quite a bit of power considering the amount of magic needed to teleport and they had to sacrifice a lot more when carrying multiple people.

The gate opened directly in the Palace where Mirao was at. Well, the three figures appeared on a flat, desolate area because the true Demon King had completely vaporized the palace that Mirao stayed in.

Two of the people that Garoth sent were holding each others' hands and the third figure stood in front of them and spoke...

“Well...this is the palace...or was since something happened...” The third figure spoke while the other two were holding each other.

One of the two figures spoke in response to the area...

“Wh-what happened here...” The figure had a tone of voice that was mixed between scared and confused.

The third figure responded...

“Oh...you weren't informed about what had happened...well...The gate transported us to Mirao's Palace..well as you can see...the Palace is no longer here...that's because the palace was recently destroyed by the person we are looking for. Now I know you two don't want to be here...but if you don't want to be banished like your goddess, Valkyren then you better hurry and prove your worth...Garoth is watching you two...” The third figure was looking down upon the two figures.

One of the two immediately tensed up and glared back at the third figure while the other was trying to calm the other one down.

“Oh hoh...you don't want to start...You may be strong but I doubt you are stronger than Garoth...remember he can see us from there...” The third figure was mocking the two and the person finally stopped glaring..

Then the person talked...

“Fine...what are we going to do...did that snobby bastard, Mirao die..” The figure that glared at the third person was talking rough.

“Nope...as much as you hate us, he's still alive...let's go see what he's up to...and you two can finally get to work...” The third figure guided them to the secret entrance where Mirao was currently holed up in.

The three of them quickly entered the entrance and disappeared from sight.

Serina came to Voltros city to search for Souma. After the whole incident, she was intrigued by the special human named Souma and just recently, the descent of the Demon King reminded her of the time where she was being controlled by Souma. His energy was eerily familiar to the demonic energy that was released from the Demon King and she wanted answers. Also, she wanted to continue what Souma didn't finish in the bedroom but first she wanted an answer to everything.

This was also the first time she's ever felt like that. Serina had been with men before but normally they'd usually die after she sucked their blood. So her chastity was still safe but she was more erotic than most demonic women. Serina was also a proud dhampir that still had her magical powers. It was because she had absorbed the blood of many human males and females that she retained her abilities. Even when she met Souma, she was thinking of sucking his blood but events happened and before she could even do anything, Souma was moving in his sleep and eventually made Serina feel extremely good even though he was still asleep.

Next, right when Souma was about to leave, she wanted to entice Souma's urges and it finally worked but what happened next wasn't what she expected. Her glare usually worked on human males as she could control humans but instead, that glare had awoken something inside of Souma. That morning, right when he left, Souma was completely different and Serina had fallen prey to Souma's commands and she begun to strip herself naked on the bed. Souma's gaze had enticed her own body and she was feeling hot every time she saw Souma. But eventually, Souma left and she was left on the bed, naked but she had regained control over her body. Serina wanted to know what had happen and her body felt hot every time she thought about Souma. So, she left her inn to her little brother and left for Voltros. Serina's little brother was a vampire and even though he is a bit short, he could handle his own against people who try to pick on him or invade the inn.

Serina arrived in Voltros and she saw a cloaked man running past her. She didn't see his face but something about the cloaked man, attracted her like Souma did. She wanted to give chase but the cloaked man had already disappeared. Serina thus began her search for Souma in the Voltros city, where the Demon King had appeared.

Lenia wanted to see Souma because she wanted explanations on what was going on. She wanted to know about Souma and she wanted to know how her mother and her cousins knew about him. She wanted explanations for the recent events with the Demon King and how his energy was eerily similar to the Demon King. She even wanted the reasons for Et'rie's knowledge of him. She began to think more and more about Souma and she began to yearn for him.

Lenia sought Souma for all those explanations but mostly it was because of how he treated her. Lenia knew that human males are disgusting pigs that prey on innocent women but when she was injured and all defenseless, Souma had taken care of her. She wanted to repay his kindness and she wanted to know more about the person named Souma. Lenia felt something as she continued to reminisce about Souma's face, figure and actions. She wanted to know why Souma was different and why he hugged her when she cried. Lenia wanted to understand more about Souma and she wanted to see Souma as a person she could trust rather than the normal humans she knew about.

Lenia was feeling quite emotional and she would never admit it until later but she had already fallen for him.

Lenia was looking throughout the districts of Voltros. She began to use her magical powers to speed through the streets and look for Souma. She went through the northern district, eastern district, southern district and she finally arrived at the western district. Lenia furiously looked for Souma and she could not find him. She eventually began to cry but she immediately stopped as she remembered what Souma did when she cried. Also, she did not want to let Souma see her cry, so she stopped and finally began to search in the western district...

Souma was running recently but he immediately hid as he saw Lenia running through the streets at an incredible speed. Souma saw how she frantically looked at everyone and he instinctively thought he was in trouble, so he hid from her gaze. Souma was now hiding in an alleyway when he finally received Toru's telepathic message/call...

Toru: Hey brother...I finally found clothes and got some money...you know brother it was funny because no one could recognize me in those rags but as soon as I got dressed...every person was freaking out because they saw me. It was quite funny I must say.

Souma: Good...and wait really....why did you try to extort money from your own brother when you had money!?

Toru: Hehe, sorry. Anyways brother, I bought an inn so we can use the inn as our place to plan for the takeover of the Kingdom...Just come to the northern district and look for “Deloria's Inn”. I bought the entire inn so no one could hear us...

Souma: DUDE!! Why did you buy the entire inn! I could've done something so we couldn't be heard from the outside! GAH! GO RETURN THE INN AND GET YOUR MONEY BACK! JUST PAY FOR ONE ROOM!

Toru: Whaaat!? How can you do that brother! You must show me later!

Souma: FINE JUST GET YOUR MONEY BACK! JUST HOW MUCH DO YOU HAVE!?

Toru: Well...I don't have as much as you do...but I have quite a bit saved up....

Souma: SO WHY THE HELL DID YOU ASK ME FOR MONEY! WHY DIDN'T YOU USE YOUR OWN IN THE FIRST PLACE!?

Toru: Sheesh brother, that is how I save my money! I pretend not to have any money and people give me money...

Souma: Gah! You need to change that attitude on money and go earn yourself some actually money you worked for!

Toru: Brother! Not everyone is lucky to find Malveric Grass!?

Souma: GAH! HOW MUCH DID YOU READ INTO MY MEMORIES!?

Toru: Just some...mostly unnecessary stuff...but the one I shocked about was....

Souma: Was what??

Toru: You cheater...you know you are going to be in trouble when those girls find out...

Souma: GAH!? STOP REMINDING ME OF LAST NIGHT NOOOO!!! I KNOW I DID SOMETHING BAD!? I HOPE THEY CAN FORGIVE ME

Toru: Pffft! Haha! Brother you are funny to talk with...can't you use telepathy like me?

Souma: No...I cannot...but I can copy it once I see you...

Toru: Oh...I don't think I saw that in your memories...what do you mean copy it?

Souma: You'll see...in the mean time, go return the inn so people can stay and it wouldn't be so suspicious! WHO THE HELL RENTS AN ENTIRE INN TO THEMSELVES!?

Toru: Alright alright brother...Hurry and come...I think I got an idea for us to do...

Souma: Alright...let me stop at someone's house....speaking of that someone...do you know the Demon Enchantress, Et'rie?

Toru: Baa-chan? Yes I do! Asmodan wanted me to learn from her! She was the one who protected the Maran Capital from being destroyed by your ancestor, Ryuu Kurogane!

Souma: Haaa...I don't want to brag about my great great grandfather's accidental mishaps or overpoweredness...but I am going to see her. She's the one who basically led me to you...she said you can help me...

Toru: Yeah...I could help you...if I had my full powers back...since Asmodan was banished...I was affected the most...majority of my powers were taken away...I can't even use magic or even use my full strength...

Souma: Hmmm...I think I have an idea for something...in the mean time I am going to talk to Et'rie and see what we can do and I'll come to the inn and talk about the plans...just wait there...and return the damn inn to the owner!

Toru: Haiiii~!

Toru ended his telepathic call and Souma began to talk with Ojii-chan...

Souma: Ojii...I got an idea but remember when you said Kami-sama and Asmodan are brothers right?

Ojii-chan: Yeah...oh! I see what you are going to do!

Souma: Yeah..I am going to see if this actually works...if it does...then we can quickly get down with the Demon Realm and I can finally return to the girls!

Ojii-chan: Heh. I bet I know why you want to return so badly! IT'S BECAUSE YOU WANT TO HAVE YOURSELF A GRAND FEAST!?

Souma: OJII! THAT IS NOT WHY I WANT TO RETURN! I MISSED THEM AND I WANT TO SEE THEM!

Ojii-chan: Uh huh! You are definitely like Kami-sama! You fiend! Scandalous dog!

Souma: Noooo!!

Souma EX: KAKAKAH! From what it seems like, Souma doesn't need my powers to subjugate the women under his control, his own pheromones will do the trick!

Souma: SHUT UP YOU--- GRRR!!!

Ojii-chan: Oh man...Souma...and his overwhelming pheromones...the world's women are in danger...such a dangerous beast.

Souma EX: KAKAH! Pheromones, more like eromones! Women just fall for him as soon as they look at him!

Souma: NO! SHUT UP YOU EGOTISTICAL MANIAAAAC!!

Ojii-chan: Such ero, much women, very dangerous.

Souma EX: Kakakah! Ojii-chan agrees! Souma you are the one who will become the overlord and every women will fall under your grasp!

Souma: NOOOO GAH! I DON'T HAVE TIME TO ARGUE WITH YOU TWO! I AM BUSY!!

Souma EX: Oh, you will be busy tonight...with those girls. I'm sure you will!

Souma: GAH NO! RAAAAH!!!!

Souma ignored the two as they continued to mock his uncanny ways of making women fall for him. Souma peeked out of the alleyway and saw the Lenia had already left. He made his way to Et'rie's house and Selina had arrived at the inn where Souma and the three girls stayed at.

Souma came to the house but then he saw the crowd of demons at Se'thran's house. He was about to go sneak through the crowds when one of the demons yelled to the group...

“Hey! They said that in the northern district, Maou-sama's energy came from there! Let's go! They said it was at Noblewoman Flora Lander's house! And they felt Maou-sama coming from there!”

The demon yelled and the crowd of demons immediately dispersed and left to the northern district. Souma was in the clear and finally made his way to the door. Souma knew his appearance reverted back to normal but his facial features could still be recognized.

Souma knocked on the door and a few moments later, Se'thran opened the door...

“Ahh Your maj-- I mean Souma...come in...Grandma woke up a few hours ago and she wanted to talk to you.” Se'thran guided Souma into the house and closed the door.

Se'thran's parents were awake and they were sitting on the couch together but Se'thran's mother kept eyeing Souma for some reason. Souma avoided eye contact and made his way into Et'rie's room, where she was waiting for Souma.

Se'thran left to his room and Souma entered Et'rie's room and closed the door.

Souma then spoke to Et'rie...

“I found him...thank you Miss Et'rie...and we're going to start planning...what should we do first...” Souma finished speaking and Et'rie was nodding her head in agreement.

“Well...the first thing you should do is find information on Mirao. I don't think he's dead because he's also an apostle and he's strong...he could've died but I don't think he's dead...try and find information on Mirao and you should start from there. Asmodan's apostle should be able to help you from now on...he's very smart and mischievous...try not to get caught up in his little schemes...he's quite the trickster and even though his schemes are harmless...I don't know what he might do considering you have an uncanny way of attracting females...Ojii-chan told me stuff about how you are quite the lady killer...Souma...be careful and remember you are here to help the demon race...not take every single women under your control...” Et'rie was negatively swaying her head as she spoke of Souma's deeds.

Souma was angry at Ojii-chan because he told Et'rie about the stuff they were just arguing about but he was more worried about the plans and how Toru and him are going to take over the Kingdom.

“Okay...Thanks for everything, Et'rie...I'll be going now...Tell Se'thran that we should hang out sometime. I just became friends with your grandson and we haven't done anything friendship worthy and somehow I feel that Se'thran still sees me as Maou-sama rather than his friend...I think he's still shocked that he peed himself...” Souma was lamenting on how Se'thran kinda sort of treats him a bit special and he is a bit nervous around Souma.

“Alright...tell Toru I said hi...and tell him I will teach him my enchanting magic, only after he helps you...” Et'rie remembered that Toru wanted to learn from her but she had other reasons from not teaching him even though Asmodan personally requested it. It's not that she did not want to teach Toru but because she was busy guarding the city and she had to, it's not like she could disobey the previous Demon King. The past Demon King had ordered Et'rie to guard the Maran Capital for quite some time. She couldn't just ignore the orders and teach Asmodan's apostle unless Asmodan officially requested for Et'rie assistance from the Demon King but Asmodan thought it was a hassle so he never really asked and Toru was a bit sad that he couldn't learn from the enchantress that protected the city from Ryuu Kurogane.

Souma left the room and exited the house of Se'thran's and made his way to the center of the city where the blood fountain was located at. Then, he made his way to the northern district and found the inn named “Deloria's Inn” and saw that Toru had finally returned the inn to the owner and now customers were checking in....

Back at the inn where Souma originally stayed in, Serina entered the building and saw the inn keeper being harassed by three women...

'Wow...that owner...I wonder what he did..I am just going to ask all four of them if they know about the Demon King or Souma...' Serina thought as she saw the three women yelling at the Inn keeper, who in fact was quite docile in contrast to his appearance.

Selina walked up to the three and asked...

“Umm...Do any of you girls know about the Demon King or a man named Souma??” Serina asked politely as she saw the three girls violently harassing the inn keeper and she basically interrupted them...

“I TOLD YOU, WHERE DID HE G---- Oh, excuse me. Sorry, I was busy talking to my friend, what was your question again?” The blonde woman out of the three spoke as she stopped midway in her original sentence and turned to Serina...

“Oh..umm..It's alright. I apologize for interrupting...but I wanted to know if you knew anything about the Demon King?” Serina asked very politely as she spoke to the blonde woman that had elegant features but when she's mad, her elegant-like features immediately disappear and she becomes a woman who's quite bossy.

“Oh hmmm...Demon King..you....you mean...Souma!?” The blonde woman's tone increased as she spoke the name of the person Serina was looking for...

“Oh, yes! Him too!” Serina was happy that she found someone that knew about Souma but then...

The other two girls that were arguing with the inn keeper heard their conversation and immediately barged into the chat...

“Souma!? WHERE IS HE!!”

“SOUMA!! DANNA-SAMA!! I WILL FIND YOU!”

The two screamed and Serina was shocked...

'Wow...Souma...do you know these girls...and what did she mean by Danna-sama...??' Serina thought as the girls screamed their way into the conversation.

The blonde woman immediately smacked the two on the head and spoke...

“Ah! Sorry about these two...These two keep embarrassing me...well I believe I haven't introduced myself. My name is Lina Yurika and these are my two sis--err guards named Eriko and Erika” Lina introduced herself after scolding the two and Serina spoke...

“Oh, my apologizes too! My name is Serina Reyla!” Serina bowed to show respects but then..

The three women glared at her and asked...

“So...why are YOU looking for Souma...?” Lina spoke to Serina angrily as she thought Serina was a campanion of Souma which technically Serina is...not officially but Souma and Serina had something going on.

“Umm..well...” Serina was about to explain but then Eriko and Erika jumped in after being scolded...

“What do you want with my Souma...” Eriko was defending her spot between the three and Lina got angry but then Lina and Eriko gasped at Erika's statement...

“What do YOU want with Danna-sama!” Erika acted as if she was already married to Souma. Well, Souma already agreed on the marriage thing but he needed to explain a few things when he came back but he isn't there...

“Well...” Serina was a bit ticked off and she started her retort...

“What is it to you with whatever I am doing with Souma. I am looking for him and this is between me and him!” Serina got a lead of the three and Lina gasped and the other two followed...

“Whaaaat!?” Lina exclaimed.

“Wait whaaaat! What...I mean Souma is mine!” Eriko stuttered a bit as she couldn't fathom Serina's retort.

“ No! You better tell me what you want with Danna-sama!!” Erika was bent on finding out what Serina wanted to do with Souma...

“Hmpf! It's your fault anyways for starting the argument! I just want to meet him!” Serina wasn't going to reveal why she came to Voltros and she knew something was going on with the three girls and Souma.

The inn keeper sneaked off as Serina and the three girls continued to argue in the lobby. The guests woke up but none of them wanted to butt into the conversation because they might be harassed all day. The guests simply ignored the girls or rather they avoided them and some hid with the inn keeper because the girls started questioning the guests for Souma.

Serina and the three girls continued to argue as the afternoon continued on. Eventually, they all calm down and then Serina explained a few things and they went to the room that Souma rented and the three girls began their “girl” talk about Souma and the events that occurred last night. Serina was shocked but she knew Souma was someone special and as the three girls spoke about Souma, the more she yearned for Souma. Serina was a bit jealous that they lost their innocence to Souma but after Serina explained how she thought Souma was different and special, the three girls eventually gave into Serina and treated her as a part of their group. Now all they needed was to wait for Souma to return and explain a few things...and Souma will be tortured...

Souma walked into Deloria's inn and the customers did not mind Souma since he looked quite average as his cloak covered his entire body, not revealing anything but the customers were keen at the two sheaths that stuck out of the coat. Toru already sensed Souma arriving and he already came down the stairs and met Souma. The demon customers immediately looked at Toru as he was recognized as an important key figure and someone just as important as the Demon King. They were about to cheer for Toru but Toru told them to settle down.

Toru greeted Souma normally since they are brothers...

“Brother..I sensed that you arrived...did everything go well at Et'rie's ?” Toru spoke about what Souma said earlier in the telepathic call...

“Ah yes it went well, let's go into the room that you rented...AND I hope you actually returned the inn to the owner...I can't believe you bought the entire inn!” Souma was still shocked that Toru bought the inn with his money...

“Hehe brother...alright...let's go to the room...but how are we going to make sure no one hears us...” Toru wanted to know about how Souma will do his trick.

“I'll show you when we get to the room...let's go...” Souma hurriedly told Toru as the demons were staring at the two and they wondered who Souma was since they could not really see his face.

Toru and Souma went up the stairs and arrived at Room #17 at the western side of the hallway. Toru opened the door with his key and Souma followed. Souma closed the door and spoke...

“Alright...I am going to cast a wind barrier so no sound can be heard from the inside and we won't be able to hear what is going on, on the outside.” Souma explained his wind barrier and started to conjure wind out of his palm.

The wind circulated through the closed room and created an invisible barrier that measured exactly the same size as the room. The wind was silent and Toru was amazed at Souma's magical proficiency and asked...

“Brother...what is your magic skills at?” Toru asked about Souma's magical ability...

“Oh...I thought you saw my memories of that...well I mastered all elements except for the ones that I have just recently discovered and there are some that are hidden. I've also mastered the combination elements and I can basically manipulate any magic that people know...unless they know a different type of magic that I do not know, then I can just copy it...” Souma spoke of his skills as he trusted Toru. Toru was surprised at Souma's magical output and wondered about something...

“Earlier...you said you could copy my telepathic skill...can you really...and does that apply to any skill brother?” Toru wondered as Souma spoke of copying his telepathic skill and he could copy magic...

“Yeah...I could...try it on me...do that telepathic call thingy...” Souma did not know the name so he just improvised...

“It isn't a telepathic call thingy, brother! It is just [Telepathy]!” Toru exclaimed as his brother was slightly mocking the name of Telepathy..

“Oh...my bad..I don't know much about telepathy or anything like it...” Souma read about ESPers from his father's study but he never really understood the concept of mind powers and such.

“Alright...here...let me use it on you...”

Toru placed his index finger on his forehead and began to search for Souma's energy and immediately locked on him. The reason it was immediate was because Toru already established a call already and Souma was directly beside him. Toru began to talk telepathically to Souma...

Toru: There. See, it isn't hard...For someone like you, brother I thought you would've gotten this ability from someone...

Souma: Well..I didn't know anyone who had telepathic abilities and the only thing that comes close to this ability would be Soul telepathy with my ancestor and those that are linked with me...

Toru: Oh...Soul telepathy...I don't know what that is...

Souma: Well...I can basically communicate with anyone, even if they are dead and it doesn't matter how far the distance is. I just need to be Soul Linked with them but the warning is that once you are linked, they can see into your memories/what you are currently thinking if they had the will to do so...

Toru: Ahh...sounds complicated...anyways brother did you get the skill...

Souma: Yep...here I'll show it to you...

“Haaa...well this came from Kami-sama...when I became Kami-sama's apostle...this skill came with it...” Souma didn't reveal that he came from another world as Toru didn't see that far into his memories and Toru was still amazed.

“Well...this is just ridiculous...” Toru looked at his brother and saw him in a different light...

“Alright...I didn't come here to compare our abilities/skills...unless you wanna duke it out for the first time” Souma smirked at Toru since Toru wanted test his strength against Souma.

“Heh, I want to brother...but I cannot...I am strong but without my original strength...I cannot hope to even come close to you brother...” Toru looked glum as he spoke to Souma. His abilities and original strength had disappeared ever since Asmodan was banished. Toru was affected the most from the banishment and he could not fight as he once could...

“I know Toru...I know about what happened...Et'rie told me...but I have an idea...” Souma stood up and began to cast an elemental barrier. Upon the wind barrier, he casted Fire, Earth, Water, Lightning and Ice barriers over each other. The room had shrunk to a third of its size due to the elemental barriers and Toru was shocked. Several notifications pinged for Souma...

Souma was staring at the multiple windows that popped and immediately dismissed them as Toru was looking at him...

“Wha...What is going on Brother??” Toru was wondering what Souma was doing...

“Well, I don't have the barrier skills like Et'rie...I'll copy it later but this elemental barrier should be fine...it should be able to repel my energy...just in case if my energy is too strong to control...the barriers should be able to protect the inn....” Souma spoke as a portion of his mana was sapped away from him but it was literally nothing compared to his full capacity.

“Wha-what...brother...are you going to do something...” Toru was wondering what Souma was doing and Toru did not know that Souma casted the barrier throughout the entire inn but at the same time he created a veil-like mist to make an illusion that the inn was perfectly normal.

Souma had casted [Illusionary Mist] and multiple elemental barriers to protect the inn from his energy. He finally finished and stood in front of Toru...

“Alright...the inn should be fine...I am going to test something out...Since you lost your powers from Asmodan's banishment...you are no longer linked with Asmodan, am I correct?” Souma was asking Toru about the connection between Asmodan and him...

“Ye-yeah...I am no longer connected with Asmodan...” Toru was stunned from the magical energy he is sensing all over the entire inn and finally noticed that Souma not only casted barriers in the room but also throughout the entire inn.

“Alright...and Kami-sama and Asmodan are brothers...which also makes us brothers...now if I were to re-establish that link...you should be able to get your powers back...” Souma was explaining his little experiment to Toru...

“Yeah...but in order for that you need to be Asmodan or....” Toru immediately became quiet as his mind began to process the information and everything began to click in...

Souma looked at Toru and saw that Toru finally got the gist of it. Souma began to increase his energy and began to release an incredible pressure from his entire body. The elemental barriers had begun to crack under the pressure but Souma made sure to put multiple barriers upon each other. Souma lifted his hand and began to pour his energy outward and immediately, Souma turned into his demonic form. Asmodan's blood was technically within Souma's and Toru felt the similarity between him and Asmodan.

Souma began to release his demonic energy along with the energy that comes from Kami-sama. The room was being pressurized. It felt like a pent up bottle of carbonized water that has been shaken too many times. The room was completely filled with Souma's pressure and energy, then Toru's body began to violently react and then the energy seeped into Toru's body. His skin began to change into a dark red skin color and the lines on his skin turned completely black. Toru's height stayed the same but his demonic features were quite different. His horns grew longer even the ones on his hands and his body mass grew larger. Toru's hair grew longer and changed to darker color of red. His skin and hair were the same color but his hair was lighter and people could tell the difference. Finally, Toru was in his original shape and he could feel his original strength returning but the skin color was different and the horns were much longer than what he was used to.

Toru looked at his new body and fell on the floor. He couldn't recognize himself anymore but he could feel his original strength had returned...

“Wha-what the...I look...so different...what happened to my skin...” Toru began to feel his rough, dark red skin and felt his horns had grown longer...

“My horns...they are longer...and more sharper...Brother...what did you do....” Toru looked at Souma who was heavily exhausted from transforming and using Kami-sama's ridiculous energy...

“*pant pant * Haa...haaa...sorry I needed to catch my breath...all I did was pour my energy....and also my demonic energy into you...since I am directly.....linked with Kami-sama unlike you....where you are just linked by normal means but I am actually......a part of Kami-sama...I used his energy that was within me and used my demonic....energy to forcefully re-establish the link.....that you lost with Asmodan. You are now linked with.....Asmodan once again but you cannot talk to him...I don't know why...but like me...I cannot talk to Kami-sama now...” Souma was breathing heavily as he explained the reason for his actions...

As Souma spoke, the barriers began to shatter and the outside barriers had already collapsed from the pressure. Luckily, his illusionary mist had continued to hide the barriers and the demons/guests could not see them shatter. The barriers were now gone and Souma fell down on one knee and he was breathing heavily....

“Haaa...haaa....I am never going....to...do...that again....too much power...focusing on...Kami-sama's ridiculous energy...too much...and demonic energy was somewhat easy to control but still...too much...” Souma was holding on to his knee as he almost fell onto the ground.

Toru's body began to ache painfully and Toru started to feel the massive energy from Kami-sama reacting in his body...

“AHHHH!!!!! IT BURNS” Toru screamed as he gripped his chest in pain.

“BROTHERRR!! IT HURTS!!!” Toru screamed in pain towards Souma who was trying to recover but he could not help Toru..

“To-toru! Fight it!! Just release Kami-sama's energy! YOU DON'T HAVE TO KEEP IT IN!!!” Souma screamed at Toru while trying to gasp for air for himself...

Toru began to roll around on the floor in pain but then...

Kami-sama's energy began to release itself and return back to Souma's body. The energy was being absorbed into Souma and he almost lost control. Souma finally came back to reality as he was being blinded by Kami-sama's energy and his body was beyond exhausted. His muscles began to ache and he started to sweat profusely.

Toru was on the floor, trying to recover but his appearance had reverted back to his original appearance. He had the white skin back and it was his original appearance.

Toru gave a thumbs up to Souma and he was glad that Toru was okay but then...

Souma's organs began to contract inside and he felt as if his bones were being repeatedly broken then mended and then broken again. His body was reacting heavily to Kami-sama's energy and Souma couldn't scream as his throat was contracting itself too.

Souma needed to cast his restoration field but he needed Toru within his field and the distance was one foot. Toru was two feet away and Souma just leaped towards Toru because he couldn't speak.

Toru was gasping for air and he was shocked as Souma was crawling freakishly towards him. Souma made it to one foot between him and Toru and began to cast his Restoration field...

'[Restoration Field]!'

Souma casted his skill and his body began to heal/calm down. Toru's body was well within the range of the field and his body also was being healed.

Souma finally laid on the floor and closed his eyes to finally rest for a bit. Toru was somewhat resting but Toru was more focused on his body and how his powers returned.

Souma rested for a few minutes and finally woke up...

Toru was already healed and was already sitting on the bed, waiting for his brother to wake up...

“Gaaahh...that was too much...” Souma yelped as he stood up abruptly..

“Yeah brother...you could at least warn me that you were going to do something like this!” Toru exclaimed...

“Well this is the first time I ever did it...it's not like I have another brother like you...” Souma proved his statement correct...

“Yeah, well true enough but...what if something bad happened to me or worse even to you? You could've died!?” Toru was worried about himself but he didn't want Souma to die when he just met his own brother...

“Yeah...well...you know I almost died quite a few times already...I'm starting to doubt the concept of death...but I know it is real...” Souma was beginning to move a bit and stopped in the center of the room...

“Yeah...death isn't a fun game to play---what are you going to do brother?” Toru looked at Souma who was beginning to prep himself...

“Oh...I am going to stretch a bit and do some light exercise...” Souma was going to do his workout routine that he created in the void and for him it may be light exercise but to Toru...that exercise was meant to torture someone rather than “exercise”. Toru just stared at Souma who continued to do his irregular workout when just a few moments ago...he was in pain..

Souma did his normal hand stand push up routine and did a couple of reps of high speed half jacks to stretch his body then Souma began to do variations of the push ups. He would rotate through the various push up styles after the 20th and he went from normal, diamond, one handed, and finished with two finger push ups. His body was relaxed as he did his push up routine and he began to do ocular stretches and various yoga positions.

Souma finished and Toru was astonished at his brother's feat...

“Wha-what...brother...what was that...it looked painful...are you okay?” Toru did not know what exercising was and Souma was about to explain it but he remembered that they needed to discuss some things...

“Well...that is just something called an exercise routine...I'll show you later but remember why I came here...we need to discuss our plans...luckily for us, the wind barrier is still active so I don't have to recast another barrier...now...onto our plans...” Souma remembered the whole reason why he came to the inn and Toru also agreed...

“Now...the thing that Et'rie said...was that we need to find information about Mirao...from what I did to his palace...he should be dead but somehow Et'rie and even I feel that Mirao isn't going to die that easily.” Souma explained what Et'rie had told him and then Toru spoke...

“Okay...I can ask some people I know for that....but we need to do something about what you did to the palace...Garoth—the ruler of the universe banished Asmodan and sent Mirao as a replacement to calm the demon race down but it did quite the opposite and now that you, the true Demon King arrived, Mirao is no longer the strongest being in the realm and since I regained my abilities...we can basically take over the Kingdom right now...but Garoth isn't one to sit around and just watch the Demon Realm be taken back by the demons...he's going to send reinforcements to help Mirao re-establish his standing in the Demon Realm...” Toru was thinking fast and Souma just listened to Toru's explanations and everything he said.

Toru was really smart but his genius mind often leads him to being mischievous at most times.

Souma agreed that Garoth wouldn't just sit around and watch the Demon Realm become taken over by the demon race. Now that they established a reasoning...they just needed a plan...

Toru then spoke...

“Okay...so I think Garoth is going to send some apostles from the gods/goddesses that are under his control. Now...we just need to find out their identities and maybe we can either persuade them or forcefully subdue them...hopefully it would come to persuasion...” Toru explained the reasoning and then he began to speak of something that he thought of as he left Flora Lander's manor...

“Here's what we should do...we just need to identify them right...so we could find some sort of event or something that could eventually reveal their identities...we already know Mirao is gone but we need to see if he's still alive and eventually we need to face him...but we can figure that out later...we need to first find the reinforcements that Garoth sent and stop them...now I thought of two things but it would be hard to do...first we could create a tournament of some sort and we could sell off information like the Demon King will be attending or we could say that I would be participating in the tournament...something like that could really attract the apostles since they should be looking for Demon King or even people similar to Maou-sama, which would be me...OR we could just play bait and one of us can capture the apostles....It is up to you brother on what we should do....” Toru looked at Souma to make the final decision...

“Mhm...an event sounds showy..but there are too many complications with playing bait...what if they try something and someone gets hurt...I'd rather not have unnecessary bloodshed...but hosting an event might be suspicious...we need to wait for a bit and maybe look around if there is going to be an event similar to a tournament...then we can go ahead with that. Playing bait s going to be our plan b and last option...with the tournament, there will be many people so it will be easy to blend in and we can identify the apostles by how they act and how strong they are...I fought an apostle already...unfortunately I wasn't in control of my body and I killed him...” Souma was still upset about how he killed someone and Toru looked at his brother...

“Okay...I see..first let's find out if Mirao is really alive or not...then we'll look around...” Toru looked at the window and saw that nightfall was approaching steadily. The afternoon was slowly beginning to end and evening was slowly creeping in.

Souma looked at the sky and he remembered that he had to explain a few things to the girls back at the inn..

“Oh man...I have to return and explain a few things to the girls...” Souma smacked his forehead and thought about how the girls will be angry with him...

“Hehe...brother...you have lady problems...anyways...brother let's have a quick competition! I feel pumped up after you restored my power!” Toru flexed his muscles to show off to Souma...

“Haha...alright...you want to arm wrestle?” Souma asked Toru...

“Yeah! I don't know what it is but can you show me..” Toru wanted to know...

Souma began to show Toru the art of arm wrestling but this one was a bit different. As you are wrestling hands, there will be a board/table in the middle and you cannot have any other hand on the table besides the one that is wrestling the other. Also, your body cannot shuffle or move. Any movement is an automatic loss and you have to restart. This is a test of might and Toru was excited to try this thing called Arm wrestling.

Souma set up the table and brought two chairs for Toru and him to sit in. Toru immediately got ready and Souma finished his preparations.

The two looked at each other as they locked their hands and before they were about to begin, Toru spoke...

“Brother...you might regret restoring my powers...my raw strength is nothing to laugh at...” Toru began to boast before it even began...

“Meh...I can hold against my own, Toru...Just worry about yourself...” Souma wasn't going to give in to his boast/mock.

Souma began to think to himself...

'Mhm...his power did return...I can see that his strength is about equal to mine...'

Toru and Souma began to flex and began the competition.

They were pretty much equal in strength and the table was beginning to crack and Souma smirked at Toru.

“Heh, struggling a bit over there, Toru?”

…

“Nope brother! Just hanging in there...”

The two were evenly matched in strength and then they began to increase their strength. The table was barely able to hang on and just before the table broke, Souma smirked and thrust his strength into Toru's hand the instant the table broke.

The result was this...

The entire inn collapsed from Toru and Souma's raw strength. As Souma plunged his strength, right when the table broke, Toru did the same thing and their strength completely destroyed the entire inn. The floor broke as the two clashed and the entire foundation of Deloria's inn fell apart. The guests were shocked and they fell along with the debris that shattered from their force. Souma and Toru fell to the ground and the final winner was Souma. Souma's hand was on top of Toru's as they laid in between some debris. Souma and Toru were shocked...

'Oh shittt...Never again..WHAT THE HELL!!!' Souma was shocked as he thought to himself and Toru could read his mind...

'Gah...I need to tell Toru to leave the money that he bought the inn with and we have to run away!'

Souma turned to Toru and was about to speak but Toru vanished.

Toru had already left the bag of money behind and he teleported himself out of there.

Souma was confused and looked around...

'Fuckkk! DID TORU JUST LEAVE ME BEHIND WITHOUT TELLING ME ANYTHING GAH!'

Souma immediately found his cloak and ran away.

Good thing that the demon race were resilient creatures and a building collapsing on top of them wasn't fatal enough to kill them. The demons were waking up in the debris and wondered what the hell happened to the inn. The inn keeper woke up next to a pile of money that Toru had left behind. It was the same amount that he bought the entire inn with and the inn keeper was shocked that the inn was no longer standing...

Souma ran fast and detected Toru's energy and began to chase him. Toru was running away from Souma and then Toru teleported again but then Souma copied his teleportation technique and began to teleport by following Toru's energy.

“Hehe...sorry brother...I can't help it...it was funny how you were confused...anyways...” Toru disappeared and Souma was confused but he was about to teleport and follow but then...

Four girls grabbed him and he began to sweat bullets...

“Welcome back...Souma has a lot of explaining to do now that HE FINALLY RETURNED!?” A familiar voice from a blonde woman he met a few days ago spoke and Souma was scared of what was going to happen now...
