Volume 2 - Chapter 3: The City of Evercliff

20 Days have passed….

The entire villages finally made it to their destination. The forest was beaming with life and several animals frolicked in the woods. The other villages had made it to the edge of the forest and each village elder gathered at the center to hold an immediate consultation regarding the disappearance of their hero and the future of the villages.

The elder from Leifan proposed the idea of making a town earlier by sending out letters of notice. The other elders were sceptical on this idea since the reason being with the diversity of each village member. The Ruicarn Village comprised of beast people, where all sorts of demi-humans coexisted with each other. The Kathern Village were made up of dryiads and druids. The Kathern village was the closest to nature and they were glad to be closer to a place that had a large forest. Other than that, the Leifan and Lithian villages comprised of humans and elves. However, with the diversity the elder also proposed that this would be a good idea for the people to get along with their sibling villages since its been far too long since the villages were together. They were still sceptical and hesitant until Alveani interrupted them with Souma’s letter…

Dear Elders,

This letter is meant as premise for my disappearance. I sent everyone various letters regarding the situation and several ideas to build a town...I want this meeting to go as planned since I am not there to discuss terms...but now everyone is clearly separated, what everyone needs right now is unity...Please do build a town and do not worry...I felt this may happen when I disappeared...but I would return….I do not know the other villages but please, I beg for your cooperation on this...it would bring peace to everyone….

?Souma?

The elders began to stare at the parchment that laid in front of their eyes. Alveani teared a bit and left the meeting area…

The elders finally casted their doubts and finally initiated their plans on rebuilding a town for Souma to return to. This construction of a town with the four villages combined would at least take a few months. They began to plan their ideas using Souma’s ideas as a starting point. Each village was in charge of a section where they would construct the town individually. The Ruicarn village will be the stone gatherers, where the beast men would gather stones for the structures. The Kathern village is comprised of the nature, so they will be navigating the forests to prevent any disturbance that may interrupt the town construction. Leifan village was left with cooking since the majority population was female and the Lithian females joined to help. The Lithian and Leifan males were in charge of carpentry. Led by the guard commander, Yoichi that prided himself in carpentry as every recruit in the guard post knew how to properly cut trees due to Yoichi’s teachings.

Each village began to work diligently and everyone seemed in high spirit after losing a great friend. The work allowed everyone to temporarily forget their sadness and everyone continued onward to build a town for Souma’s return.

The girls were planning something for Souma and they were going to use their abilities to the max in order to complete their mini project. Alveani taught the girls simple magic spells in order to help each other out efficiently. All of the girls had a high affinity for mana which made it easier for Alveani to teach spells and Alveani was happy to have friends that helped each other. Alveani at first was worried since everyone loved Souma but she did not mind that everyone had those feelings of intimacy akin to hers. However once Souma returned, she promised to give him hell. Not because of the marriage or anything….but because of leaving and making her cry….Alveani was truly happy to have friends that understood each other and everyone was kind to each other….

The City of Evercliff, A city abandoned by the kingdom but home to the mercenaries. The mercenaries were sort of a guild that ran multiple jobs that required men to fight. Evercliff is a city full of entertainment, challenges and power. The people of Evercliff admired power and adored those that were exemplary in terms of strength and adversity.

In the center of the city, there is a 5-story building that housed the Mercenary Guild that took odd jobs from all over the kingdom of Algarun. Jobs were ranked alphabetically starting from F class to SSS+ class jobs. These jobs varied from difficulty and there is only one SSS+ class job and that was the exploration of the world below the fog. The mortality rate is at 100% and nobody is willing to take the job because of that. Also the reason being an SSS+ class was due to the Kingdom of Algarun abandoning the city.

The city was bustling with merchants calling out various prices and customers continuing to haggle down the price range. Many doors swung open and closed as midday was their busiest hour.

Many travelers visit the City of Evercliff due to the vastness of the fog that extends infinitely past the horizon off the cliff. A lot of travelers also come here for Evercliff’s famous ale that boasts its alcohol potency. Many however do visit due to the misconduct of the Kingdom.

The kingdom of Algarun was run by a greedy king, one that is selfish and desired power. The king was merely coronated after the passing of his father and assumed the throne. The previous king was devout and trusted by everyone but now his tyrannical son rules the entire kingdom, threatening anyone that goes against him with death. Many escaped the Kingdom to Evercliff seeing refuge from the strife that is occurring internally within the kingdom. The strife seems to be the struggle between the powers of the kingdom, and the King himself. The king waged war without addressing the council and now as preparation had started, the war will occur in a year’s time. The council cannot go against the king directly so they are currently stumped with a struggle between powers…

On the northern side of the city, there stood a house on a hill that overlooked the entire city. On the 2nd floor of the house, there was an opened window with a golden haired boy staring into the city…

After the girls broke the door, they began to ask many questions regarding Rain…

“Rain-san where are you from….?”

“What’s your favorite food, Rain-cchi?”

“Rain-kun….why...is...your hair... golden….”

The three girls asked various questions while the silver-haired beauty examined Rain. Rain simply sat there looking stupified…

‘What….where am I from…?...Food?...hair…?’ Rain continued to think and his face looked really funny as he perched his hand to his chin in a thoughtful pose.

The girls continued to ask questions and Neiru was about to scream at them until the Silver-haired beauty talked with a demanding voice…

“This boy..is my slave now!” The silver-haired beauty proclaimed loudly for the rest of the girls to hear and Rain snapped out of his pose…

‘Slave…?What...’ Rain looked astonished as he stared at the girl that proclaimed ownership until…

“DAMEEE!!! NEIRU FOUND RAIN FIRST SO RAIN IS MINE!!!” Neiru screamed after hearing the girl proclaim her husband.

“YEAH LEIA!! DON’T SAY HE’S YOUR SLAVE, HE’S OURS! I WANT TO PLAY WITH HIM” The orange-haired girl yelled her stance in the argument causing Neiru to flip out.

“NO, RAIN IS NEIRU’S I FOUND HIM FIRST! STOP TRYING TO STEAL HIM ALINA!!” Neiru turned to orange-haired woman and screamed at her.

“.....Rain-kun...is...Neena’s...experiment….pet...Rain-kun is mine….” The purple-haired girl walked to Rain and patted him on the head as he sat on the bed confused at the arguing females.

“Not you too Neena!! WHY! RAIN IS NEIRU’S HUSBAND!!” Neiru screamed at the girls fighting for Rain..

On the other side stood the blue-haired beauty that cowered in fear as her sisters began to fight each other. Neiru was busy arguing with Leia and Alina while Neena was busy patting Rain’s hair to even notice the blue-haired woman crying…

Rain noticed her tears falling out of her eyes and a tiny pinch of pain surged from the depths of his heart. He could not bear watching that girl cry so he stood up and ignored the girls that continued to fight and walked towards her. Rain opened his arms and began to hug the girl that cried and she was shocked at the boy that hugged her. Rain gently caressed her hair and crept towards her ear to say a few words…

“It’s...okay...I don’t know much...but don’t cry...it hurts me….”

After Rain spoke those words, the blue-haired girl immediately stopped crying and the girls suddenly stopped as they noticed Rain hugging their sister, Shina, and noticed the tears that came from her face. Rain immediately turned over to the side and stared at the girls that stopped and began to speak…

“I don’t know much...but no fighting...it hurts my heart…” Rain stared at the girls and the girls pouted and noticed Rain’s eyes change to a dark blue.

Neiru was the first to apologize and the girls followed in suit. Neena simply said nothing since she never fought but being called an experiment was weird for Rain since he did not know what an experiment was…

Leia was the last to apologize but she hesitated for a bit….

“Why should I apologize...I am a princes-” Before Leia even apologized, the room suffocating with Rain’s dominate pressure leaking. His posture and gaze gave a commanding pressure that threatened Leia’s words as she spoke them. The pressure immediately faded away and Rain didn’t know what happened. Leia nearly pissed herself and collapsed from the pressure. Neiru was already in battle mode along with Alina after escaping the pressure hold…

“RAIN! WHAT WAS THAT!!!?” Neiru screamed at the confused boy that wondered what had happened to Leia...

“...huh I don’t...know?” Replied Rain as he was equally as confused as the rest of them.

“Rain-kun...what was that...experiment….” Neena spoke to Rain after tugging on his white shirt.

“Rain-cchi...what was that…” Replied Alina in excitement as she found a new buddy to play with.

Rain was confused as everyone else but he noticed Leia on the floor about to cry. Rain quickly released Shina out of his hands and she wanted to hug him some more but Rain moved towards Leia who cowered on the floor with her body shaking…

Rain kneeled in front of Leia and hugged her appropriately encasing her face into Rain’s chest. He spoke to her…

“I’m sorry...I do not know what happened...please forgive me…” Rain spoke to the teary eyed girl and kissed her forehead.

After Rain kissed her forehead, she began to cry. She was shocked that she was completely terrified from the pressure. She experienced a similar pressure from her father, the previous King that ruled the Kingdom of Algarun, whenever she got in trouble from doing mischievous things. She cried wholeheartedly into Rin’s chest and he patted her glossy, silver hair and began to calm her down. After Leia finished crying, she hugged Rain and began to speak…

“This…*sniffle*...slave...is arrogant….hugging his...master...like that… *sniffle*”

Rain just simply calmed her down and stood up while thinking…

‘What is a slave?....Arrogant?...’

Rain had a confused face but the girls began to look at him with jealousy written all over their faces. Even Shina who was usually the shy one, wanted Rain to hug her some more but she couldn’t ask...she was too shy but she wanted Rain to notice her some more. Neena walked steadfast to Rain and began to tug on his hand and Rain knelt down to hear her words…

“Carry...me...Rain-kun...go….down...stairs…”

Rain simply did as he was told and carried Neena in a hime carry and the girls were angry! Even Leia as she finished wiping her tears began to scream…

“HE’S MY SLAVE STOP TELLING HIM THINGS!!”

As the girls yelled at Neena, Rain was looking confused as the girls were shouting left and right then he immediately ran out of the room and went down the stairs.

The girls were furious and began chase. Neiru, who continued to yell lead the charge alongside with Alina while Leia and Shina followed in pursuit behind the two vanguard girls. They were going to catch Rain and Neena as they ran down the stairs to the first floor.

Rain was confused but Neena simply smiled and they stopped on the first floor. The girls caught up to Rain and told him…

“Rain...put neena down...she can walk...but I need you...to carry me….I’m tired…” Neiru spoke jokingly as she wasn’t tired at all.

The other girls replied similarly and Rain put Neena down and the five girls were arguing with each other…

Rain walked to one of the front windows that had paned glass exposing the outside city. Rain stared at the city in awe as he wanted to know more about where he was and who he was….

Neiru and the girls simply stopped after watching the golden-haired boy stare into the glass while looking at the City. The girls simply discussed a few things and Neiru began to talk…

“Rain...do you want to go outside to the city…” Neiru spoke in a moderate tone which alerted Rain.

Rain turned around quickly and nodded towards Neiru after she spoke.

“Okay, well the girls will stay here since they have to clean up...and the broken pot needs to be replaced…” Neiru spoke with a stern voice and glared at the girls that whistled in disregard.

Rain was excited to finally leave the house and explore. He wanted to see the city that looked amazing from the 2nd floor and luckily Neiru was going to guide him. Rain suddenly hugged the girls to show his appreciation and the girls blushed heavily. Neiru finally escaping his clutches being the last one he hugged, finally lead him to the door and the two left. The rest of the girls were on cleaning duty and cooking duty for the rest of the day.

Rain and Neiru descended the hill and approached the street that lead to the Market place. For the tour, Neiru was going to show Rain around while she buys ingredients for tonight’s dinner. Rain had a big smile on his face like a kid receiving candy. Rain was about to run off and explore but Neiru clasped her hand into Rain’s and the two began to walk with their fingers crossed…

‘Why is she...holding my hand...oh well...I get to see the city...’ Rain was confused but decided to leave it to Neiru who became his guide.

Neiru began to talk about the Marketplace where many merchants visit each other to compare prices and a lot of people come to the marketplace to buy goods. She spoke about the people that haggled prices in attempt to barter to lower the price to a more reasonable one. Neiru told Rain that the things people normally did was a type of skill. Rain was still clueless and aimlessly listened to Neiru’s guidance voice. Neiru talked about the various merchants that travel from the Kingdom to this specific city because of the influx of travelers that come here to visit and many refugees coming in. This prompted for good business for the City and the City was governed by the Mercenary Guild. They did not want a single entity controlling the city, so they left it to the Mercenaries that protected the city walls.

As the two walked through the Marketplace, a Familiar merchant was seen in the corner. The merchant began to look at Rain and thought that Rain looked oddly similar to a boy that gave him the Malveric grass. But he decided not to call out to the man that walked with the girl hand in hand. That girl was one of the mercenary leaders and he would be stupid to interrupt her date… The merchant decided that later he will ask the familiar man if he recognized him or not...

After shopping around and exiting the Marketplace, the two began to free roam the city. Rain saw the shops that chimed as a potential customer entered the shop. Many jewelry shops exhibited expensive necklaces that glistened with the sunlight. Rain saw many people walking in groups, talking and laughing about things Rain did not know about. Even Rain saw couples holding their hands in a similar manner that Neiru did with his. Rain felt bubbly inside but his attention switched over to the bakery shop that had a wonderful aroma that attracted customers. Rain’s mouth began to water as he thought of the possibilities of this thing called Pastries that Neiru explained about. Rain wanted to go and Neiru giggled as she clasped harder at Rain’s hands and the two happily went to the Bakery to try some pastries.

At the bakery shop, Rain wanted to eat everything since every pastry looked good but from Neiru’s explanation about money during the Marketplace tour, he couldn’t ask for everything… Neiru and Rain finally got one piece of pastry to share together and Neiru was going to pay until…

Rain wanted to pay since Neiru helped him but he didn’t know about anything. He simply wished he had money in his pocket to help pay for Neiru as a thank you but suddenly, his pocket bulged a bit.

‘What is this...’ Rain began to feel his pocket as Neiru was going to pay but suddenly stopped as Rain pulled out a single gold coin from his pocket. Rain looked at the weird gold piece that appeared in his pocket and Neiru nearly jumped in astonishment. Even the shopkeeper was surprised since this was the first time he had ever seen a single gold piece…Neiru was completely shocked and Rain looked at her confusingly then handed her the gold piece and spoke…

“I do not know….does this help you…? I want to help….” Rain hesitantly spoke to Neiru as her mouth was wide open from the suddenly rich man…

“Y-YES! Rain...please let me have that...we cannot let anyone have this...thank you for helping….We will use it for the rest of supplies for home okay?” Neiru smiled at the bewildered Rain and her words assured him that he had helped her.

Neiru told Rain to grab a few more pastries to eat and he was extremely happy..

“MHM~ They smell...good..thank you...Ne-...Neiru…” Rain tried to say Neiru’s name properly since it was the first time he had called her by her name. This caused Neiru to smile brightly and they finished paying for their snacks. The two found a table and sat at the table while eating their food. Rain smiled happily as he ate the pastries and Neiru did not even touch her own pastry as she was busy looking at the golden-haired man that happily ate the snack they bought.

Neiru was especially happy since they have a gold coin that they could use for buying the new supplies needed for the house. Neiru didn’t ask Rain where the gold coin came from because Rain probably didn’t even know it either as it appeared in his pocket. She simply thanked Kami-sama for blessing the two and she finally dug into her cream-filled bread.

The two finished eating their pastries and Rain personally thanked the bakery owner for making such a wonderful pastry and they left to buy the other supplies on the other side of the city.

Neiru and Rain approached a blacksmith forge that had immense heat escaping from the gaps from the forge. Rain had a face of mixed feelings. He felt familiarity but slightly irritated at the heat since it made him sweat...Neiru opened the door and a blast of heat struck the two but Neiru merely ignored it as if it were the same as the outside air. Rain reluctantly entered the forge and Neiru called out to the blacksmith…

“Kanari, are you here? I have to buy some metal pots and pans along with some tools?”

A few moments passed and a female voice was heard…

“Ah! Is that you Neiru? Ah okay, I will sell you some of the metal pots and pans I made already, as for the tools, you might have to wait until tomorrow or the day after. I have an order for one of the mercenaries to construct a custom Silversword.” A woman wearing a stained white shirt and overalls spoke from the corner of the room.

“Well, Neiru who is this? and I see you are already at ‘that’ stage?” Kanari looked at the blushing Neiru and her hands that clasped together with the golden-haired boy.

Rain was only thinking in his mind and looked around the forge as Kanari and Neiru talked…

‘What….stage?....broadsword...is that a weapon…? what is this place…?’

Neiru who was busy in her fantasy world finally snapped out of her dream and began to introduce Rain…

“Ahhh, Kanari this is Rain...I rescued him from a village...however he doesn’t know anything...he has memory loss….so I gave him a handsome name fitting to be my husban- I mean I had to give him a good name…” Neiru hesitantly spoke to Kanari who continued to grin at Neiru’s explanation…

“Ohhh, I see...uh huh...Well, nice to meet you, Rain.” Kanari raised her hand to give a handshake and Rain suddenly stepped forward.

Rain was nearly a few inches away from Kanari’s face and began to talk…

“Umm...Hello..my name...is..Rain…” Rain tried to politely introduce himself but it was a bit overbearing seeing as Rain’s face was almost in Kanari’s face.

Kanari stared into Rain’s eyes and was enveloped in a certain feeling that she had never known. Kanari felt happiness for once in her life after the passing of her parents. She stared at his silky, golden hair and his beautiful eyes that reflected her appearance. Kanari suddenly snapped as Neiru was pouting and obviously getting angry. Rain tilted his head to the left in wonder as Kanari was in a daze. Kanari suddenly spoke…

“Umm..Rain-san...here you shake my hand since we first met each other…” Kanari spoke to prevent any further misunderstandings from Neiru.

“Shake...hand?” Rain replied while raising his hand up and down in a shaking manner..

“No no, like this” Kanari clasped the hand of Rain and gave him a handshake.

Rain smiled wholesome as he learned something new. He turned around and saw Neiru pouting and spoke…

“Ne...Neiru..I learn...Handshake?...what’s wrong Neiru..?” Rain noticed Neiru’s pouting face and Neiru finally returned back to normal…

“oh...it’s nothing Rain...just come back...and hold my hand…” Neiru spoke to Rain in a soft tone and Rain returned by clasping her hands and Rain spoke…

“I’m...sorry….”

Neiru nodded in return…

“No...you did nothing wrong...it’s okay, I’m not sad...I’m happy see!” Neiru smiled brightly for Rain and Rain smiled in return.

Kanari began to grin again at Neiru but inside, a bit of her heart ached from watching Rain do that for Neiru…Maybe one day Rain will look towards her like that...

After buying the pots and pans, Rain was going to carry for Neiru but she stopped him and told him about her bag…

“See this bag Rain? It is a inventory bag...it can fit the pots and pans in here without making it that heavy!” Neiru spoke proudly to Rain as he was shocked at looking at a bag that could hold the pots and pans.

Neiru was about to put the bag on her back but Rain immediately stopped her and took the bag out of her hands. He quickly fastened them on his arms with the straps and held the bag properly on his back. Rain faced forward and began to walk while Neiru wanted to speak but Rain nodded no before she spoke.

The two began to walk around town, buying various supplies such as wooden utensils and baking ingredients. They even returned to the Marketplace to buy some leftover supplies they had missed from the first time.

Neiru introduced Rain to some of the city folks that she knew personally. Most of them were females while the rare male were usually a retired mercenary that used to work under Neiru’s leadership. Rain looked at Neiru as he had mixed feelings about her…

‘'A mercenary…?What is that…? Leader?...Is..Ne..Neiru strong…?’ Rain was both happy and confused as he wondered what Neiru was but he somehow guessed she was strong and now he admired her.

Rain began to look at Neiru in an admiring gaze and this caused Neiru to blush heavily until some of the Mercenaries that were spotted a few meters away saw the two looking at each other. Neiru quickly grabbed Rain and ran for cover. Rain was completely taken aback as he wondered what was happening and saw the men pass by Neiru’s hiding spot. Neiru sighed in relief but she knew something bad is going to happen either today or tomorrow….

“Oh….why did this have to happen now….” Neiru spoke under her breath and Rain looked at her confused as ever.

Neiru peeked out the corner of her hiding spot and began to creep out without letting anyone notice her. She told Rain that they were gonna go home after this since it was getting late and people will be looking for Neiru. Neiru and Rain quickly made a run to the north of the city but once they passed the 5 story building, a wall was erected and surrounded Rain and Neiru. Rain was freaking out and Neiru simply calmed him down by gripping his hand slightly harder to reassure him that nothing will happen.

The wall collapsed and a group of mercenaries surrounded the two and a burly man with an extravagant armor walked towards the two. The man was around the same height as Rain and had brown hair that was spiked. His armor was steel and as the afternoon sky glistened with his armor it showed that it was finely tuned. On the back of the man, was a broadsword that was about half his size that was slightly larger than most broadswords. This man began to speak to Rain and Neiru…

“Ahhh...Madam Neiru...I see you’ve returned...and how about that marriage proposal I spoke to you about” The man spoke with vigor to alert Rain about his standing but it simply didn’t faze Rain as he stood next to Neiru confidently.

“No, Klain for the 50th time, I will not marry you...actually I found someone perfect for me…” Neiru spoke confidently but suddenly regretted her decision as she knew Klain’s personality for being cocky and an arrogant bastard.

“Oh really...is it this bastard of a child with the golden hair is your supposedly “fated one”? Eh Neiru, he’s a pipsqueak. He cannot protect you!” Klain spoke to establish his stance in the argument and stepped forward in front of Rain’s face who neither budged nor blinked but continued to stare at the man.

“.....K...Klain..sir..can you...stop...Neiru...does...not...like you….” Rain spoke slowly as he still could not speak properly but this reaffirmed that Rain was going to defend Neiru.

“Oh hoh! This punk finally talks...and he sounds like a coward! As expected from a bastard’s son….” Klain mocked Rain’s speech but was interrupted by Neiru..

“Klain! I will not have you insult Rain as he is new to this place! As one of the Leaders, leave us be and return to Headquarters or I will personally invoke judgement on you now!” Neiru’s face had a evil scowl as she angrily spoke to Klain which barely fazed the man.

“Ohh...Sorry leader but we can’t leave you in the hands of this punk that can’t even fight! Better yet...How about this...We enter the tournament that is being hosted in three days from now. The Tournament of the Silver sword, where mercenaries fight each other to gain the prize of a Silversword crafted by the Blacksmith, Kanari! And the winner will fight in the Kingdom of Algarun during their yearly tournament. What do you say about that, Bastard boy?” Klain spoke in a mocking tone as he explained the tournament that was upcoming and Neiru was about to interrupt when Rain gripped her hands slightly tighter and spoke…

“...I will fight…” Rain stared into Klain’s face and his eyes changed slightly red. The pressure built up from Rain’s gaze and Klain began to sweat until Neiru tightly grasped Rain’s hand thus calming him down…

“Rain...are you sure..?...I don't want you to get hurt....can you even handle a weapon..?” Neiru nervously spoke to Rain.

Rain turned his gaze and released his pressure and looked at Neiru and nodded in agreement as his eyes returned to a light blue color. Of course Rain did not know how to handle a weapon but Rain felt anger swell up in his heart as this guy arrogantly spoke to Neiru and himself...

Klain was shocked from being completely shut down because of Rain and the two began to move out of the circle of Mercenaries that were still under shock from Rain’s surprise “attack”. Klain had a dumbfounded look as Neiru and Rain held hands while walking towards the hill located north of the city.

Klain gripped the mantle of his broadsword and swung the sword from his back to the floor repeatedly.

“How dare that cheeky bastard….You will see….Neiru will be mine…..”

Klain vowed to humiliate Rain during the tournament and he could not wait for his time to shine in glory for Neiru…

The two returned to the home hand in hand and Rain received glares from each of the girls that stayed at the house then Neena suddenly separated Neiru and Rain. Neena tugged on Rain’s hand and Rain knelt down to her what Neena wanted to say. As Rain got on one knee, Neena suddenly kissed Rain’s cheek and Rain was confused…

‘Why did she do that...what was that….?’

Rain looked more confused that he was when he woke up in his bedroom. The girls were beyond furious and dragged Neena away.

After dragging Neena away, all of the girls took their turn on kissing Rain on the cheek…

“...why...my cheek?...” Rain looked confused as the rest of the girls kissed Rain’s cheek….

The girls simply ignored his plea and continued their 'assault'

After their charades, the entire group finally ate their dinner that the girls prepared. Neiru talked about how Rain had a gold coin and they were surprised as Neiru was when she saw the gold coin for the first time. They were about to ask when Neiru mentioned that Rain did not even know where it came from. It just appeared in his pocket so it probably was Kami-sama thanking them for their good fortune. Then Neiru explained the Tournament and the girls scowled at Neiru for letting Rain participate in that stupid tournament but Neiru was happy that Rain stood up for her.

As they continued to talk throughout their dinner, the entire city was bustling through the night. A message delivered by the Mercenary HQ stating that during the Tournament, whoever wins becomes Neiru’s husband… The entire city was moving and Kanari was busy throughout the night receiving orders for new swords or sharpening and whatnot.

The girls finally slept and Rain slept peacefully without knowing the “troubles” that would occur tomorrow...
