《The path He chose》Prologue

*Author's Note* This story is a joint work between me (Kurogane) and my Proofreader, Mek. Nonetheless, I will be taking ideas both from my PR and the audience. Note that things will change a lot between the story seeing as this Prologue is going to change due to it being incomplete and I feel sorry for letting the audience read something that isn't perfected. However, I will be keeping in touch to those who review it and give me pointers and I am willing accept any ideas as long as it pertains to the story. Nothing too OP and I am looking for new ideas on people which the MC will interact with. This story will be transformed by the viewers. Something that I don't know has been done in this site but I have yet to see one. But let's get on with the prologue.
RE: Author's Note My PR edited it and revised it a bit better hope it looks good?
Prologue
There stood a man at the pinnacle of his youth. A man with a brazen look of masculinity and broad shoulders that exceeded his age. He stood at the epitome of what a man should be in his life. Not concerned of what his enemies thought of him but how his loved ones perceived him. He is a man of the family and sought to create his clan. Hundreds moved with unyielding resolve to execute every command this man laid out for them. Who is this man who emitted such aura of high unyielding spirit full of caliber and nobility? This man known as Ryuu Kurogane was the initial head of the far eastern plains clan. His vast power, resolve and determination became the cornerstone for the first generation that excelled the clan’s martial arts prowess.
Ryuu Kurogane, throughout his life created a family that was governed by no one, not even the Emperor of Japan. They knew it would end in useless bloodshed as the Kurogane clan presided over the Far East with their inborn fighting capabilities. The Empire of Japan sought to gain the clan's trust through bribery and other petty schemes however it ended in impasse. Once the next generation came into leadership of the clan inconsequently many of the practitioners gained various jobs under the empire often leading various conquests over the eastern countries. However, the spread of power concerned the 2nd generation head as he looked for guidance from the original founder who was on his death bed.
The current second generation head was as also the son of Ryuu Kurogane. His name was Shin Kurogane. He, too was a master of various martial arts yet he didn't retain majority of his father's prowess due to the incapability of his softened heart. Shin wanted the clan to expand even further without threatening the entire populace but through knowledge, wisdom and political wealth.
He envisioned that enhancements in weaponry, like the “Musket” would soon overtake the clan’s fighting abilities. He wanted the clan to survive the continual advancement of weapon engineering.

Shin knew that the physical body had limits presumably a toddler could wield this gunpower machinery. With proper aim and trajectory a miniature rock could instantly end a warrior’s life. The discovery of gunpowder lead to the existence of a weapon resembling a high-propelled arrow which was quickly mass produced by the Empire of Japan
As Ryuu Kurogane laid on his deathbed, he signaled his son in order to tell the young man an impending prophecy from an ascended spirit that easily rivaled the gods.
“M-my son...I believe my time is nearing soo...” Ryuu hastily spoke and suddenly blood erupted from his mouth. Shin quickly alerted the near by members of the clan to hurry and retrieve some medical supplies however Ryuu waved his disapproval at his son.
“Do n-not fret over this, I have something to tell yo...” Ryuu spoke in a deathly wheeze as he continued to wipe the blood from his mouth.
“Shin, I have noticed your recent developments on expanding the clan and I, too have been foolish to not keep up with the times so I have acknowledged your decisions as the head. I hope your future generations will continue to expan-” Ryuu hurried his explanations but he knew his time was running low as the blood from his mouth increased.
“Father! Please do not speak anymore. I cannot bear seeing you like this.” Shin spoke with a worried expression and tears began to form but as soon as those watery substance formed his father bellowed in anger.
“Shin Kurogane! You may be weak through emotions due to your mother passing but I do not want my son crying over such trivial things as my death! You have a clan to lead and you must first adhere to my current instruction on expanding the clan!”
Coughing more blood as he bellowed those sentences unable to yield to his deathly fate.
“My son, you must understand. I am going to leave this world. You will have to continue onward with the whole clan on your shoulders. Do not fret. A Godly spirit is forever watching over this clan as I have bonded its powers within the clan...However, this power can only be accessed through one of my descendants. The clan must survive. The foretold child will be born from my descendants containing my unyielding spirit and power to challenge the gods..”
Ryuu tried his best to maintain his composure but the amount of blood was piling.
The clan family surrounding Ryuu’s deathbed felt the pressure of having to ensure that his future descendants survived in the current turbulent, unending strife. The family was unsure to follow such a god that no one had ever saw nor heard of. Suddenly, the room ruptured in a quake only to see a glimmer of light above the ceiling. Immediately they moved their gazes from their dying elder towards the increasing light of unimaginable pressure.
The pressure was too great for the family to continue looking up. They tried their hardest to not yield to the unknown power. Instead their bodies continued to slouch further down in a prostrating position under the spirit. Its presence exceeded the pressure of Ryuu Kurogane.

Shin, observing his family members prostrating over the spirit, could not help and wondered why he could barely feel the pressure. As he pondered over the strange event he noticed that his father was bleeding through his mouth, ears and eye sockets. Immediately Shin knew instinctively that the reason he wasn't effected was due to his father's interference. Shin could not utter a single word as his father looked ever so happily that he managed to let out a single tear. A tear that he had not shed ever since he took over the eastern plains with his fists. Shin did not know why his father would do this but in his heart he knew that his father was going to miss his family. Ryuu looked at his son and began to usher him to move closer so he could speak yet barely.
“My.....time.....up.....listen.....take....care...of...clan....family....I...will...miss.....do..not..forget....promise...protect family....my son....I....will...miss....yo-” As Ryuu uttered his last words not even finishing them, the spirit stopped his onslaught of encroaching pressure and turned to Shin.
“You...will...adhere...to...your...father's....words...
I...will...watch...and...see....the...man...whom...Ryuu...chose....as...his...successor....
Do...not...fail...his...expectations....and...raise...the...clan....
Ryuu...will...watch...over...his....future...descendants...until the...fated...one arrives....”
The spirit ghastly spoke towards shin as if he were to curse him yet nothing happened.
Shin knew he would never betray his father nor betray his expectations. He would raise his clan to the fullest even if it meant going against his father's teachings. As soon as he steeled his resolve, the spirit then violently vanished and permeated the room with a blinding light; leaving everyone gazing at their dead elder.
After they announced the death of Ryuu Kurogane, the country of Japan bowled in tears as they lost a man of untouchable means. A man who is easily recognized as the strongest in his age. A man who equally had the right to challenge the Emperor and reign as the Ruler of Japan. Apart from the endless turmoil, he managed to build a solid clan that had various teachings ranging from ancient Aikido to legendary Ninjutsu. The clan of Kurogane was the one that cried the most. They mourned for a total of 7 days and at the temple on Mt. Fuji where he trained was where he was buried next to his wife, Akane.
The clan immediately took charge as they knew they had to be prominent figures in the Empire of Japan then WWII struck. The clan survived the onslaught of the Americans and they sought the end of their turmoils and the spirit once intervened. They had survived but at the cost, their descendant will take even longer to arrive into the world in order to change the destiny of the world which they knew nothing about.
Year 20XX
The world is busily expanding and making new innovations. New weaponry that was incorporated within the military such as M16's to guided missles and various prototypes.
New technology that allowed full immersion within a fabricated reality. A person could escape reality within a egg-shaped capsule. With the addition of full body suits that allowed a person to become a hero of some sort yet the latter has never been revealed due to various reasons concerning personal identity and it only had the initials of T.S. However, the egg-shaped capsules, various weaponry and the like were developed by a company that existed from ancient Japan.
This company started long ago during the start of WWII and now they lead an advanced international corporation that exists on all four corners of the Earth. This company will be later known as the, “Kurogane Corporation” or better known as their American counterparts, the “Black Steel Company”.
This corporation has lead many various extensive fields that brought forth technology that should never exist in 10 to 20 years in the future. However, the current chairman is a man that excelled in intellect as he has the highest IQ in the world.
Over the course of time none other than the the direct descendants knew of the the Kurogane’s secret legacy. The future descendants would retain the information from their previous forefathers. With this knowledge in hand they continued to progress the skills of the Kurogane’s inheritance. However there was another hidden secret. The current chairman was not the true heir of the company. The true heir was unrivaled in his IQ which easily surpassed the current chairman.
He is a man who has an unyielding spirit and superior intellect. His mind allows him to access the 90% of his brain that normal humans cannot. His brain retains every information gained and allows his mind to perform photographic memory at its peak. This man is at the pinnacle of strength, speed and intelligence. He is a humble man governed by no one. The rightful owner of the Kurogane Corporation forced his brother, the current reluctant chairman, to direct the company. The true heir was strong and resolute, deep inside he felt lonely due to his mastery of multiple martial arts reigning him the strongest man on the earth but he could not get over his increasing desire to get more powerful. His name was Souma Kurogane which translated to be True to the Black Steel fate...
This boy was yet to be born but his story shall be told. The moment he is conceived on earth, a terrible earthquake could be felt throughout the earth as if signaling the descent of a god.
Deep within the main HQ of Kurogane Corps. Located in the the center of Japan, a blissful light could be seen within the depths of the corridors that held the secrets of the Kurogane clan

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
