To kill a God

Dunwalt POV-
[A few months back, in Vanerian Kingdom]
(A man wearing dark black armor is standing, his fist on his heart paying respect to a dark figure sitting on a white ivory throne. The man with long black hairs and piercing blue eyes is accompanied by 6 masked dark figures standing behind him.)

“Father, i have come at your summon, accompanied by my six most trusted generals.” (Dunwalt)
“Thank you my son, i have an important mission that need utmost discretion for you. I don't think the King as been informed of this yet so i want you to quickly execute the mission. From my spies among the elves i have learn of something troubling.” (The Father)
“I have also heard rumor of thousands of elves migrating east...” (Dunwalt)
“Yes my son, apparently someone pretending to be that fake God Michael from that old prophecy has started gathering them together. I am unsure at to where their destination is but i am tasking you in infiltrating their rank, find that fake God and deal with him permanently.” (The Father)
('The Father' then took a small shiny metal box, placing it on the left armrest of his throne.)
“You know what this is right?” (The Father)
Tilting my head i was surprised at seeing this sacred artifact. This box contain a sacred object called the 'mana star holy eye', an artifact that was usually used only to defeat very powerful mages.
“It's the 'mana star holy eye' isn't ? Does that mean you believe the imposter to be a powerful mage?” (Dunwalt)
“Indeed my son, all my information seem to be pointing in that direction. I want you to teach this over zealous mage the power of the one true God, the 'holy mana star Andranis'” (The Father)
“Yes! Father! Justice shall be served in Andranis name!” (Dunwald)
Then 'The Father' took out a gauntlet made of the same metal as the small box then said:
“You will need this as well, i don't need to teach you how to use it i suppose. Just never touch the holy eye without this gauntlet.” (The Fater)
“Yes father! It shall be done accordingly to your wishes.” (Dunwalt)
I then grabbed the box and gauntlet, placed them in my backpack, gave father a bow before leaving with my 6 strongest generals.
“Master, father giving you the artifact... Isn't it bad omen???” (Masked Person #1)
“I'm not sure, maybe he is simply being overly cautious...” (Dunwalt)
“Do you think there is a chance we will face a real God?” (Masked Person #1)
“No way!... There's only one true God in this world, is your faith wavering???” (Dunwalt)

“Of course not... It's just that being given such a powerful artifact is a bit unnerving...” (Masked Person #1)
“We just need to find the false prophet and kill him... Easy peasy.” (Masked Person #2)
“Just shut up and let's move gnaaa!” (Masked Person #3)
“Quickly prepare yourselves, we leave in 2 hours!) (Dunwalt)
“AYE!” (All 6 Masked Persons)
Two weeks later we have finally caught up with a group of elves heading to an unknown location seemingly leaded by fairies. We got quite surprise as this revelation as fairy usually don't meddle in other races affairs.
'I wonder how this fake God managed to gather the fairy's support...' (Dunwalt)
We are wearing normal travelers clothes with no mask as to not attract to much attentions. Luckily there was already some humans among them making it easy for us to blend in. By listening at the group conversations, me and my generals started getting more and more nervous.
They are speaking of Celestial Doom Dragon, new superior bred of elves, of a Divine city being built and that it is their destination. The more we listen, the more we feel as if we are about to jump into a dragon's den.
I few months later we have merged with many other group along the way making our numbers swell to around 4000. I can see some of my generals eyeing the hundreds of elves around. I understand their feelings, capturing and selling that many elves could make us the richest men/women on Earth.
After a while we finally reached a forest bordering our kingdom that we all know as 'The dead end'. Meaning that those who went in never came back out again. As our group slowly started getting in i could see my generals hesitating and stalling around.
“We have been entrusted with an important divine mission. Whatever is to come we shall go on ahead with faith in our hearts!” (Dunwalt)
“AYE!” (All 6 Generals)
We crossed the forest surprisingly without anything happening. In the forest we came across an abandoned 'elf looking' village. It has been 3 month since we departed for our mission, and we are still walking... not knowing where we are going...
A few more months later we caught up to a group of elves that was ahead of us. Suddenly many elves started bowing to an elder looking elf whom they called King. That made my eyes sparkles as the king of elves was thought to be dead and if we were to capture him, the amount of gold he should be worth must be astronomical.
Our group was now numbering 5000 at a minimum. We kept walking for weeks through some dense forests and plains, when we finally reached a clearing leading to a large valley. There in front of us was standing around 50 elves, and a monstrous looking black dragon 5 time bigger than the biggest dragon i had even seen.

My generals backed away in fear at the sight and myself had my heart beating at full speed worry about what came next. Behind the group could be seen a city so incredibly marvelous that only Andranis, our God should have been able to create it.
My generals looked at me with agape mouth, i could feel their faith wavering. I frowned and glared at them, making them strengthen their resolves. Then all of a sudden the elven king walked forth, then knelled before a frustratingly beautiful looking halfling.
“Hail! The great Lord, our God! Michael the arch-devil!!!!!” (Elf King)
'What? This bishonen is the false God? Our target is this weak looking creature that seem to only have his look for himself?' (Dunwalt)
The rest of the group immediately started doing the same so i threw a look at my generals prompting them to imitate as to not get suspected.
“HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY!” (Crowd)
The false God then spoke with five of the most beautiful female elves we had even seen. They would be worth a fortune in a brothel. After a few moment the fake God addressed the crowd.
“It is my pleasure to welcome you to your new home, the paradise you have all been waiting for, NEW HEAVEN!!!!!” (Fake God)
“HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY!” (Crowd)
The fake God then jumped on the back of the dragon followed by a weird looking yet still very beautiful purple female elf. The dragon then slowly walked toward the city carrying them, with us following behind.
As we entered the city everyone eyes were fixating up in the airs, then looking all around at the wonders that could be seen everywhere. We could see many things we had never seen before. I must admit at this instant my faith wavered slightly prompting me to trow a look at my 6 generals. They were to busy looking around to even notice me.
'This is getting bad...' (Dunwalt)
After walking for a while we arrived at an enormous church looking building housing the throne room. The fake? God then walked down the center of the room then up a few steps leading to a colossal golden throne where he sat waiting for everyone to gather.
The monster... The dragon sat behind him and his throne while the purple elf stood still to his right. The crowd having finally all gathered started bowing repetitively mumbling words i couldn't understand. With my guards wavering, and this dragon behind him, i understood that this was now a suicide mission. I had to gather the resolve to die for my God in order to rid the world of this impostor.
The fake God then spoke about many things, about how races were oppressing each others, equality among races stuff... Then even called my God a 'not worth worshiping ball of gas' and talked about the many kingdoms creating only wars and inequalities.
Basically a lot of mumbo jumbo only aiming at brainwashing the people here. I will not let myself fall into his trap of temptation for i know who is the only true God, and it is Andranis!!!
Michael POV-
As i was spewing some mumbo jumbo out of my ass aimed at brainwashing them into worship, the hairs in the back of my head stood up. I could suddenly feel blood lust. What i could feel was imminent danger!
So i quickly leaked most of my mana out, sticking it in a highly compressed state around my body then materialized my gauntlets and cloak from my dimensional room giving me back my appearance of 'Grim Reaper'.
Seeing this Ester got in defense position, the 5 female bodyguards formed a circle around me and Thorodan started growling. Suddenly i could start feeling my mana aura being absorbed in a spot somewhere in the crowd.
Then a crystal orb went flying in my direction. I tried to stop it with mana but all i threw at it got absorbed in a flash. It was thrown to fast for anyone else to react and so the orb hit me in the stomach, immediately starting to absorb my mana... All of it.
I could see a man with black hairs and blue eyes rushing at me with his sword high in the air. At an incredible speed knocked a female bodyguard on her ass, then aimed for my neck. As i was loosing consciousness i could see a black shadow swooping in at lightning speed lumping my attacker's head off of his body creating a shower of blood.
Then i lost consciousness and everything went dark.

“Sighhhh... I am disappointed in you Michael...” (Lucifer)

Here's the map of the world. Well at least what is known so far, notice the fog of war... The full map is a lottt bigger.

Please do not repost my work elsewhere without my written permission. What type of reader is this book for? You might enjoy The Last Orellen if you like... Clever and resourceful protagonists. Big fantasy worlds. Multiple cultures, lots of characters, many different types of magic--this story is expansive rather than closely focused on a narrow storyline. Progression fantasy that takes its time. Our main character will be progressing through magical ranks, but this is going to be a lengthy story. If you're more about the journey than the destination, this might be the book for you. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

How A Villain Builds A Kingdom
READ THE WARNING Amadeus Devereux was born into a rich and powerful household. But he did not pursue power like his brothers because of his love for art, flowers, and poetry. Until one day, a servant arrived in the garden to see Amadeus smiling as if he was looking at a flower. Only this time, Amadeus was looking at the mangled corpses of two gardeners. ————————— Set in a fantasy world where magic exists, follow Amadeus as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Will he be able to feel emotions as others do? This is a novel that I wrote because I got tired of all the tropes that had transmigration, regression, deus-ex machina, etc. where everything that makes the main character reach the top is left to luck. —————————
