《My First Party Member is a Slime》Chapter 37 Delayed
Advertisement
Also, because I need 500 characters to make a chapter (and because I don't want to put up absolutely nothing), I'll leave a short reddit writing prompt piece below. This has nothing to do with the story, so feel free to ignore it.
[Prompt: You possess the power of telekinesis but only when you're drunk. This is your first time learning this.]
Fire conjuring, physical strengthening, invisible barriers, teleportation, mind-reading…and that’s only scratching the surface.
“Ah, fak it!” I yell as I slam my plastic red cup onto the ping-pong table.
Drunken jeers assault me on all sides. Unfamiliar voices, all of them. My eyes shift left and right as I search for the one who invited me to this party. Jeremy, the culprit, is busy lifting a couch filled with squealing girls. College girls. His shit-eating grin is infectious. So much so that I can’t blame him for leaving me alone. Besides, even a normal high schooler wouldn’t be able to get into a party like this, let alone a cripple like me. I should be grateful that Jeremy’s friends let us in.
I should be, but right now I’m a little angry.
“Yo, I can’t believe mah little J brought a cripple with him!” Some mouth-breather guffaws. I can’t remember his name, so I’ll call him Chad.
I feign a smile while raising my ping-pong ball.
“Well, this cripple’s bout to beat you in…shit.”
Another miss brings out another round of laughter from the other side. Chad grins devilishly as he tosses his ball into my sixth cup. His throw was wide, but a sudden gust of wind pushed it into the goal. Story of my fucking night. I can’t call him out. I don’t want to hear his fake indignant tone anymore.
“Drink up, cripple.”

It wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t sound so fucking pleased with himself. Is it really fun to cheat like that? The woman by his shoulder giggles and I figure he must be doing something right.
After my sixth cup, I’m feeling pretty woozy. I consider storming off, but something holds me back. Now that I think about it, I’m actually not all that upset. In fact, all of the sudden I’m feeling really good.
“You like that, huh?” I point at the woman. “Then this is really going to get you wet.”
I spin my ping-pong ball on the tip of my finger and then let it fly. There’s no arc and no bounce. The ball zips straight into the cup closest to her and the resulting splash curves unnaturally into her dress.
She shrieks while Chad stares at me with wide eyes. I ignore him and lick my lips seductively at his partner.
“Fucking fluke.” He growls, tossing another ball towards my cups.
Wind corrects his ball’s course, but it never reaches its target. I flick my finger and the ball does a loop in mid-air. Chad’s face is priceless as his ball falls into one of his own cups.
“Chad!” The woman yells. “Are you going to let that little shit get away with this?”
“Of course not, babe.”
Chad, who apparently really is named Chad, frowns. The air in the room seems to be moving strangely, but I couldn’t care less. I raise my hand and wave my fingers.
“Bring it on, Chad. Right now, I’m feeling invincible.”

Thomas the Brawler
Thomas doesn't remember what his last name was, before it became Bluebrim, a name belonging to another universe. He's also pretty sure he wasn't this stupid before he arrived, but what can you do, when a day that was supposed to begin with an interview to set your life back on track instead begins in a universe that makes no sense, with rules you can't begin to understand? Maybe he should have paid more attention to the avatar creation screen ... Content warnings: All of them. Seriously. Expect lots of blue screens to begin with. Don't expect a power-leveling fantasy, in which the lone hero beats up all the bad guys, and gets a harem of women. There's just a guy who treats character creation like an annoying series of pop-up advertisements, and the story is basically the ramifications of that. The main character has to learn to take the world he's found himself in seriously, and he'll learn the way most of us do, by doing it wrong first. This is, insofar as it is successful, a dark comedy fantasy. Also a bit of horror, particularly but not exclusively body horror. I'm pretty sure I've earned those Content Warning tags, so, uh, yeah. This is practice. Hopefully things improve as I go, and figure out what I'm doing wrong, but I make no guarantees things will ever get better. I've already made mistakes, I'll make more, and I'm happy to notice them each time I make them. You don't improve unless you fail. (On the plus side, it probably won't get much worse.) Feel free to point out anything you think I'm doing wrong; I don't promise to change anything, particularly if it's a matter of taste, but I am looking to improve, and figuring out what I need to improve goes faster if I don't have to try to figure it out myself. I've updated the earlier chapters for formatting, in the hope that it would make everything easier to read on mobile devices. Hopefully things work slightly better now, but please let me know if there are any issues anywhere.

Killstealer
Unfinished - Apologies to anyone who was reading but I have no current intentions to revisit this story Alex was stuck in a rut: He was nearing thirty, and his career seemed to be going no-where; He used to have plenty of friends at university, but had gradually lost touch with them. He had recently started using a dating site, but truthfully he never quite got over his ex. It could be worse; he didn't spend his nights wallowing in self pity. However, he had a sinking feeling that his life was going no-where fast. When Alex decided to take up an old hobby all he really was looking for was something fun to do on friday nights. Thrust into another world by a mad mage Alex must adapt quickly to survive. Unfortunately, Alex showed up late to game night and ends up stuck with a pretty mediocre character in this game like reality. Alex must learn to survive in this new world; just because it all seems like a giant game doesn't make death any less terrifying. This will be my first attempt at writing litrpg. I wanted to set myself the challenge of writing every week and I think knowing people might be reading it will motivate me. I've always worked much better with external deadlines. FAQ Why should I read this LitRPG? I am writing because I enjoy it and you should read it if you enjoy it. If I had to make an elevator pitch I would start off by saying my MC is a rogue type character, which seems a relatively uncommon character at least based on what I have read. I also strive to make the supporting cast three dimensional characters, and not just caricatures. Finally, I can't forget that this is a LitRPG so I have tried to make a RPG system with depth, and one that makes sense. How often will you release chapters? At least once a week is my goal. I am a nurse with a baby at home, so between my hospital and my baby I won't have time for more unless something dramatically changes. Will there be romance? I won't rule it out as I try to let my characters write their own stories. However, there will NEVER be a harem, it just isn't something I am interested in. Gore, Profanity, and Traumatising Content? I don't intend to have any of these present at obscene levels, but my tolerance might be different to yours. The tags are mostly there to cover me.
