Chapter 34 The Organization
=======================================
“Roman Torchwick,” the officer began while reading from a clipboard that was handed to him.
“Level 72, 26 years old, class is Thief, semblance unknown. You've stolen 3.4 million dollars worth of items and cash combined. In addition, you have successfully avoided getting caught by authorities--”
“--until now.”
The officer leaned forward towards Roman.
“Where are the stolen goods?”
Roman shrugged.
“Who knows? I sure don't.”
“Stop playing games. You're sly enough to somehow hide your status plate even when we caught you, so we don't even know what your skills are. According to our source, you've hidden the goods at other locations. Where are they?”
“I don't have a clue.”
“Are they with your partner?”
“I work alone.”
“That's funny. Because from our officers, you were seen talking with a woman right at the time we arrested you. Mind explaining?”
“I have nothing to say.”
“Why are you being so difficult? Being loyal to comrades? She'll just take all of the goods for herself. You're sitting in a jail cell for the rest of your life, but if you start talking, you might be able to cut some time off.”
The criminal sighed and leaned forward.
“Look, I know this is hard to believe officer, but I'm not exactly the biggest fan of local law enforcement.”
“Very funny. Lets give you some time to think about this. I'm sure you'll be more compliant when you understand the kind of people you're dealing with.”
The officer got out of the cell and closed it. He looked at the woman who stood at the door.
“He's all yours. Don't be too rough with him. Come and get me when you're done dealing with him.”
After walking out of the room, the woman locked the door and pulled up a chair. She sat outside the cell and looked at him. Roman returned the stare with a mocking smile.
“Oh boy, I'm soooo scared. What are you gonna do? Peel my nails off? Shove a centipede down my ear?”
“No.” The voice sounded extremely young despite her looks. The woman tilted her head up, revealing bright red eyes.
“I was hoping we could talk.”
“Talk?”
The woman took off her cap and reached under her chin with her hand. In one motion, she ripped off her mask to reveal the face of a young girl.

“Last time I checked,” Roman said. “high schoolers don't qualify to be police officers.”
“Well then it's a good thing I'm not one of those police officers. My name is Cinder Falls. I was hoping to employ someone with your expertise.”
“Employ? Do you know who I am, kid? I'm not so desperate I would take requests from children.”
“Oh I know exactly who you are. Roman Torchwick, the thief with class. You've made a big name for yourself in the underworld, and became an even bigger name with the help of your partner, Neo. During one of your burglaries, you had decided to target a building that you suspected to have a good financial background. Unknown to you, it had a secret lab hidden underground. Curious about it, you cut the power and entered. You ultimately helped her escape and became partners in crime. Quite a touching story if I may add.”
Roman flinched at the name of his partner being revealed. Nobody knew her name, the only people who knows she even existed was him and those people.
“Are you part of Project A?”
The girl chuckled.
“Project A, D, G? It doesn't matter which one you talk about, they're all a part of us. The Organization has been keeping tabs on you two ever since your escape. You've been pretty sneaky, but not sneaky enough.”
“...I see. You guys are the ones who tipped off the cops.”
“Only to have a conversation in privacy, Roman. You see, we were debating to kill you at first to prevent leaks, but after examining your background, we've decided your skills would prove most useful to us.”
“And if I say no?”
“Oh I don't think you will.”
The woman took a photograph from her pocket and let it fall inside the cell. Roman picked it up and froze when he saw who was in it.
“...What have you done to her?”
“Relax, Roman. She's completely fine. We just wanted to make sure you would comply with our demands. I'm sure if you think about it, you'll find this is very advantageous to you.”
“What do you want me to do?”
“Finally curious? The Organization is in the need of Dust, but instead of arousing the curious eye of the authorities, we thought it would be better if an infamous thief, such as yourself, got it for us. You're to hit as many Dust shops and steal as many cargoes as you can, and then transport them to these locations.”

She handed him a piece of paper.
“In the process, you'll gather fame, and in return we get the Dust. A win-win isn't it?”
“One thing.” Roman said. “You're to release Neo. She's my partner. I'm not exactly thrilled to work while knowing you guys have a bullet aimed at her head.”
“I'm afraid we can't do that. While we don't particular care, the Doctor has requested to get custody of her. After you've done your part of the deal, we'll release her. In total honesty, you can become a pretty nice piece in our plans and get extremely famous in the process. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.”
The girl took out her keys and went to unlock the gate. Roman stopped her with his hands.
“No need.” he said while taking out his own set of keys. He proceeded to unlock his cuffs and then the lock on the jail cell.
“When did you get that?” she asked.
“I'm a professional.” Roman said while straightening his coat.
“The cop earlier was very helpful by throwing himself against the cell.”
“Impressive. We've placed your tools and weapons that were taken at the location indicated on the map. I'll contact you with more details later.”
The woman started putting on her mask and walked towards the door, but was stopped by Roman again.
“One last thing.”
The woman turned and urged Roman on with her eyes.
“What's your goal?”
She smiled and began walking again.
“World domination.”
---------------------------------------------------
Robin directed the officer towards Myriad. After getting out of the car, the officer asked him.
“Your parents in town?”
“No. I'm living in the kingdom alone.”
“Good. I'm leaving then.”
“Hey, wait.”
The man looked at Robin with a slightly annoyed expression.
“I was a bit too rude earlier. You were just doing your job. I hope we can put this behind us.”
Robin felt just a bit guilty during the ride. Although the man was out of line, Robin made him lose face with his superior and probably will get demoted. At Robin's sudden apology, the man was shocked silent. After a few seconds, he spoke.
“.. Yeah I was being a bit unfair too. Just don't cause any more trouble for me alright?”
Robin smiled wryly as the car went away. He then made way to the cafeteria. There, he got dinner and sat down at the table with his friends. They immediately began bombarding him.
“Robin, what happened?” Conner asked.
“Are you criminal now?” Ophelia questioned.
“Did he hurt you?” Blake had a worried expression.
“Why do you have to show off so much?” Adam said.
“Whoa, whoa, calm down guys.” Robin leaned back a bit.
“Give me some space. No, nothing happened. The superior stepped in and released me. I'm free to go. No charges, no record. I'm still the same as always.”
The group sighed in relief.
“Good,” Ophelia said. “You get on people's bad side too easily.”
The rest of the group nodded, Amy included.
“Oh come on. You over-thinking this. I don't do that.” Robin retorted.
“Yeah you do.” Conner rejected his response immediately.
“You get into fights all the time.” Adam said.
“You may not like showing off like Adam does, but you seem to be completely fine with starting fights. Whether it was Cardin, Jonathan, or the teacher, you taunted them first.” Ophelia stated.
Robin frowned as he reflected a bit.
= Maybe I have gotten a litter wilder since reincarnating. Is it because of my wolf heritage? Or is it because I'm being a bit more unrestrained with my emotions this time? =
Blake patted him on the back.
“It's ok Robin. You never did anything wrong in all those times. They were the ones that insulted you first.”
With Blake's encouragement, the group began to talk about their first day in the kingdom. After dinner was finished, they went back to their rooms and entered the huge bathrooms that was in each dorm. When they finished, they went back to their rooms, did their homework, and slept. Just before he went to sleep, Robin stared at the ceiling and reflected on everything that happened that day.
= So many things have happened. The entrance exam, the white fang, and now tomorrow we go to the guild again. It's so interesting, but I hope it would calm down soon. =
As he closed his eyes, Robin fell asleep immediately. The darkness filled his vision as the long day finally ended.
