Chapter 29: The Number One
=======================================
The man's face contorted with anger. His tanned face turned a bright shade of red.
"Who do you think you're talking to, you fucking animal?"
"I think I'm talking to an asshole who can't even keep his own promises. But hey, you might prove me wrong."
Robin smirked at the man.
"Get out of this building. You don't qualify to attend."
It was Robin's turn to get angry.
= What kind of bullshit is this? =
"You can't do that!"
"I can and I will. As far as I'm concerned, you were unable to complete any of the tests, so I had no choice but to disqualify you."
"I don't think so."
Out of the crowd of students, a human girl stepped forward. She wore a blue jacket with pink markings that resembled electrical circuits. The jacket covered her abundant assets which swung as she approached. Beneath her skirt, pink knee-high socks can be seen. Her boots clicked every time she took a step. She wore an arm band that read “PRESIDENT”.
"The students that can take out any AK-130's are allowed attendance at our school. Not only did you alter the test, Coach Lackerman, you are now refusing to keep to your own promise. I'm sure the principal with be happy to hear this report.”
She took a finger and pushed her glasses up.
"You may take your leave. If you want to keep your job, you can go fetch some more AK-130's, and I MIGHT forget about this."
The man just grumbled and walked away. Whoever this girl was, she seemed to have more authority than a test administrator. She turned to face all of the students.
"My name is Diana Geotal – your student council president. We apologize if any of you were insulted by his actions. He is not the representative of our policies. I will be taking over this testing as of this moment. The original special test was to face five AK-130's, but you only need to take out one. Are there any others that wish to take the test?"
Most of the students didn't raise their hands. They all saw the levels of each one of those robots. They didn't have the confidence to beat that. Only four hands were raised in Testing Room 3.
"Oh? Looks like we have some brave kids this year. Who's first?"
Blake stepped forward. She placed her hand on her weapon, Gambol Shroud, and took it off the holster on her back. Gambol Shroud was a sword mounted on top of a glock. The sword itself could collapse and form a small scythe. In addition to the cartridge on the bottom of the gun, there is a ribbon that is attached to the trigger. Blake could use the ribbon as a way to pull the trigger as she welded it as a form of chain scythe. To further increase its deadliness, Blake had design the sheathe itself to be sharp enough to use as another sword.

At that moment, the man named Lackerman came back with ten more robots following him. The girl shooed him away and commanded five robots to the end of the path. She raised and dropped her hand to signal the start of the test. This time, all the robots transformed their arms into blades. They ran to rush Blake. She took two steps, drew the sword out of the sheath, activated her aura, and used her skill.
Shadow Rush
This was a unique skill that used her semblance, Gambol Shroud. Blake dashed forward and proceeded to slash and stab anything in her path. The moment she pierced an enemy, Blake would activate Schrodinger and separate without having to take out her sword. She would then use the clone as a launchpad towards other robots.
From far away, it had looked like she approached the robots, and then became a blur that went past them. The robots that were poised to attack suddenly stopped moving. They bodies were frozen in their poses. Then, they fell apart, revealing clean cuts along the places where Blake had struck. Blake sheathed Gambol Shroud and put it back on her holster before walking away to stand next to Robin.
Diana chose this moment to speak. She was completely unimpressed by the show of strength. Robin figured she actually decided to check their statuses and realized that they were much stronger than the rest of the applicants.
"I'm glad we have such a talented group of students this year, but please restrain yourselves to taking out only one robot please? They aren't exactly cheap.”
Blake nodded and Diana pointed at Coach Lackerman to get more AK-130's before testing everyone else. The rest of Team COBRA passed the test with no difficulty.
Adam's weapon, Wilt and Blush, was a katana with a red blade that was sheathed inside of a shotgun holster. He pulled a trigger, and with a bang, the blade shot out of the the sheath and towards the face of one of the robots. The moment the blade left the sheath, the sheath automatically transformed into the shape of an actual shotgun. It had happened so quickly and with no movement. Thus, it knocked the face of the robot backwards while Adam dashed forward, grabbed the katana, and sliced the robot to pieces.
During his turn, Conner threw a smoke bomb on the floor. It was one of his creations he had learned to make thanks to his class, Jester. When the smoke cleared, he was nowhere to be seen. Instead, among the five robots was a sixth that was Conner transformed into with the help of his semblance, Masquerade. As the robots were momentarily confused about which was the real one, Conner pulled out his revolver, Fauxer, and shot bullets into one of the robot's head.
Between each test, Lackerman would come back with more robots before Diana would send him off to get more. The man dashed back and forth like a slave.

= Irony at its finest. =
Out of all of them, Ophelia didn't even have to take out her weapon. Among the robots for her, there were none that used guns, so she activated her semblance, Miasma. Combining it with Blue Dust, she created a unique skill just like Blake.
Mist
Fog flowed out of her open mouth and enveloped the robots. As it surrounded them, they became completely drenched in water. However, these robots were designed to be waterproof, so it didn't affect their movements whatsoever. What Ophelia did next, on the other hand, did.
Electric Mist
Ophelia applied Yellow Dust to her semblance this time and the fog that surrounded the robots immediately changed into electricity. Completely soaked in water, the robots were completely fried. Diana pouted and began to tap her feet.
“I said to NOT to destroy all of them.”
“Oops. Sorry.”
Ophelia stuck her tongue out and smiled with a face that indicated otherwise.
“Whatever. Anyone else wanna try the test? No? Ok, you five. Report to Classroom 1A. Tell them Diana sent you. I still need to test everyone else so just wait patiently for the test to finish up.”
The group left and walked out of the room and left the building. Going into the one next-door, they found Class 1A. Upon opening the door, they found a blonde woman sitting her desk in the corner. She looked up from her book in surprise.
“More students already? You should be taking the tests in the building next-door. This is the wrong building.”
“We already passed the test.” Robin said.
“Diana sent us here.”
“Oh, Diana did hm? Lackerman must have caused some trouble again. I swear he's gonna be gone soon. Although that must mean you also all passed the special test?”
Her eyes glanced over them, taking in their builds and faces.
“Also?” Conner questioned.
“Yes, other than you guys, there were two others. They're right there.”
When they looked in the room, they saw there were two people. In the far corner was Raven, and in the middle of the classroom was a boy with yellow hair who wore a brown and yellow outfit with bright yellow arm-guards and leg armor. His spiky hair shook as he looked up at them before continuing to do maintenance on his weapon.

“Normally there might be one or two that passed the special test. The highest we ever got at one time was 4, and that was during the year our current student council joined us. Looks like we've broken a record again. Oh, by the way I'm Mrs. Veranda. I'll be teaching everything that's not combat for you guys.”
The group took turns to greet her. Inwardly, they sighed in relief that their first teacher in the kingdom seemed kind even though she was human. They found seats in the back while waiting for the rest of the class to show up. As the classroom began to fill up, a group of kids with big builds stepped into the classroom.
“Aw man, look at all the faunus here. It's totally gonna smell like a pigpen.”
“Man, I wish they would stop letting animals come into the school. It's bad enough we have to have a faunus in the student council.”
“Oh hey. Looks like there's some beauties in the new group.”
The boys walked over to the back of the classroom. Two of each of them gathered around Raven and Blake. Apparently they couldn't tell Blake was a faunus thanks to the bow. Unfortunately, that brought a different kind of trouble. Both girls wore an uncomfortable expression.
“Hey there, transfer student.” The biggest kid said.
“Wanna hang out with the strongest future Hunter.”
Raven scoffed and said two words.
“Fuck off.”
The boy looked shocked as if it was a given to be a yes. In order to regain his honor, he decided to hit on the other one.
“What about you, cutie? You thinking about hanging with these guys?”
He flexed his biceps and wiggled his eyebrows at her. Blake swallowed her barf and said--
“Uninterested.”
At this point, it was just embarrassing. The boy's face flushed red and started to shout.
“Hey! What kind of tone is that? You're talking to the number 1 of Class 1 for three years!”
The Myriad School of Combat had an elementary program as well. Technically, all new students today were transfer students. Many of the kids in the classroom were already in Class 1A from last year. Mrs. Veranda tapped her fingers on the desk and spoke to the kid.
“Jonathan, sit down. You don't even have the right to talk to them like that yet. All those new students that you're talking to passed the Special Test. You're probably no longer in the top five, let alone number 1.”
“Wha--”
The kids eyes looked at each of them, examining their levels. His eyes popped out at the numbers in front of him.
“N-no way. Level 55?”
Raven looked out the window, completely uninterested in what was happening in the classroom. The boy named Jonathan looked at the group of faunus. His eyes rested on Robin as if he found a target.
= Oi. Why are you looking at me? =
“I can't accept this.” Jonathan walked up to Robin's desk. He stared with a fierce light in his eyes.
“I challenge you to a duel!”
Robin scratched his ears and said.
“Nah.”
NOTE: I'm bolding all skills from now on for clarity. I'll go back to older chapters to change that later. I took a day off yesterday to think up some details for the story. Raven is now a bitch to everyone. LOL. Rate, comment, enjoy! Thanks for reading!
