The moment Beths father hears this, he claps his hands and turns his head to the side, "Prepare a feast. We are welcoming back my daughter and celebrating my son!" He smiles and gestures for the group to follow him.
The father leads Alistair and the group into the manor which is just as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. Marble flooring and columns neatly arranged in the hall leading towards the dining room. Two servants stand in front of the double doors leading into the dining hall.
Each servant grabs a door handle and opens it in perfect sync revealing a room that could be better described as a greenhouse. Artificial sunlight recreated and foliage abundant at the base of each wall. A massive dinner table in the center of the room grabs the focus, especially with the massive feast adorned on it.
"You used a power to quickly prepare a feast? Isn't that a bit to wasteful for brother?" Beth put her hand on her chin in a curious position as she looks at her father.
"It would have been if it was a few days earlier. Now however, it is as easy as a waive of my hand!" A magnetic voice booms across the room as a dashing man with short spiked blonde hair instantly appears in front of Beth.
"Beth, why must you always act recklessly like that? What would I do if something happened to you because you were worried for me?" The dashing man smiles magnanimously at Beth as he puts his hand on her head.
Beths' face lights up as she sees her brother, she hugs him immediately starting to tear up "Sebastian! I feared the worst when I hear the news! I'm so happy you're okay!" Sebastian smiles at his sister.

He then looks towards Rodney, disregarding him as a servant. He turns his sights towards Alistair, however a strange expression forms on his face. He quickly hides it and goes up to Alistair,
"Boy, Welcome to the Brightstar household. I was informed of your would be position due to my sisters concerns and even though it would have been a lie upon a misunderstanding I would like to express my gratitude to you in the way of this feast!"
Alistair has been waiting by the side struggling with his hunger. He would have already gave in to his temptation if it had not been for the young man in front of him. When he walked into the dining room, he felt a sense of dread as if that half corpse had its mouth open ready to reap his little life.
It wasn't until the young man looked at him and finished his statement that the sense of dread disappeared without a trace. The hunger immediately surfaced and took over.
"I can see the starvation in your eyes, no need to stand on ceremony. Let us all feast!" He watches everyone begin eating as he pays close attention to Alistair.
Alistair walks over to table covered with various types of meat and exotic dishes. He picks up the leg of a bird that has been fried and bites ferociously into it. The moment the food touches his tongue, he immediately spits it back out.
Alistair tries to eat another dish, this time a stack of tender ribs. However, the same result occurs. Alistair understands that it's not that he doesn't like it. It's that the spiral in his heart and stomach that usually spin with a terrifying suction, immediately began rotating the opposite way and released a small gale with enough force to prevent the food from being swallowed.

Alistair panics as he understands that he can't eat this food. He begins to look for anything that he might be able to keep down. He comes across a dish that is giving a wonderful aroma and immediately reaches for it.
Without hesitation he puts the food into his mouth and it goes down without any problem and begins to soothe the spiral inside him, albeit slightly. He sees a pile of this meat and does not control himself.
The spectators in the room however make strange expressions as if they had just witnessed a horror movie. He tosses aside all of the properly cooked extravagant dishes and decides to go for the the raw monster meat that had been prepared for extras after the food was finished.
He eats at least three pounds of raw meat before letting out a satisfied,
"Yum!"
Beth and Rodney both let out a shocked gasp. The boy who they thought was mute just said "Yum!". Beth gets out of her chair at the dining table and walks to Alistair.
"Alistair, what did you just say?" She looks at him intensely with expectant eyes.
"Oh! Uh...yum?" Alistair looks back at Beth, not able to process what just happened.
When he ate the meat and the spiral became satisfied, Alistair went through a monumental evolution. His throat healed and his mouth became capable of intricate movement. Alistair gained the ability to talk!

Maker of Fire
On a world where magic kept civilization firmly in the bronze age, the Gods dropped an accountant and a mining engineer to start a political and industrial revolution. They wanted enlightened governance and a fast track to the iron age. They got indoor plumbing, paper airplanes, a cranky queen, and one very grumpy prophet. Dramatis Personae Aylem was a bookkeeping student when she died. The Gods reincarnated her as the greatest mage ever known, born into the ruling class of gigantic, magic-wielding humans. The Gods reincarnated her as one of the enslaved class of small, magicless humans. The Gods expect her to drag the world out of the bronze age. Though she's already recreated matches and wrought iron, introducing technology isn't going well because she was born a slave (oops) and having escaped, wants nothing to do with so-called "civilization." Asgotl was a whale when he died. The Gods reincarnated him as a griffin and expect him to have the same role he played in his previous life: to keep a reluctant prophet from walking off the job.
