《New beginning》Book 2 - Chapter 5: Man without a face

I woke up next day fresh and eager to make some new equipment for me. I woke up sooner and worked on things that Harr needed to repair. I needed to make repairs so I could work on my equipment.

Around nine I heard horn outside. I already prepared place in back where I could stash my things. I went outside where small truck was waiting for me. I could see Jerry behind wheel looking at me with worry. Next to him was sitting Lany who immediately went out of truck and run to me.

“Hi, where can we stash your things?” she said smiling.

“Hi, you can take them in the back.” I said.

She leaned towards me. “Thank you for yesterday. Jerry is trying his best to make up for his bullying. He even volunteered to take me here. He had long talk with his granddad.”

I smiled at her, “Don’t worry about it. Someone should have talked with him and his granddad sooner.”

Jerry walked out of car and went towards us. “Where can I place your things?”

“You can place it in the back. I’ll sort it out.” I said.

“I hope you didn’t forget your promise.” Said Lany.

“Of course. You can watch. I’ll start to work on it as soon as we unpack all parts.” I said.

Next twenty minutes we offloaded all parts. We had it all placed them in the back when Harr came down. He looked at all parts and frowned. “I hope that it won’t be there long. I need this workshop to be clean for work. I can’t work here with all these parts.”

“I’ll have it all away before tomorrow. I already made all repairs for today so it shouldn’t be problem.” I said.

“I see you prepared for me.” He looked sternly at me. I looked back, but I couldn’t hold back laugher. “Look at her, she’s even laughing at me.” He sighed and went back upstairs.

“I’ll make something for you.” I called after him.

“You better.” He called back.

When he walked up, I turned to Jerry and Lany. “Ok, I’m going to work. If you want, you can watch me.”

Jerry was squirming and looking around. “Can I watch too?” he said silently.

“Yes, just don’t interrupt me.” I said and went to work.

First I unpacked armor I found in scrapyard. I scanned it and took out plates with holes. It was hardened plastic. I couldn’t make them here with tools Harr owned, but I could use titan plates. They would be heavier, but I was far stronger than average human.

I took out titan plates I found and cut them into shapes I needed. I used punch to cut them up and Pat to make edges more smooth. I put them in skeleton which was intact. I made small adjustments until everything fitted just right.

Next I went to work on sensors. I had only some to work with. Most of them were torn from it and sold. I looked at ones that remained and they were worse than ones I could make so I removed them and started working on new sensors.

I fitted them and put on the armor. There were some sharp edges which I grinded away until it was comfortable. Sensors were connected to me through three wireless links. I calibrated sensors and tried to move in it. Even after all this time it moved smoothly.

Now that I had basics finished I moved to upgrades. I needed shield so I took out all shield emitters I could find and reworked them to something more useable. I needed them to function all at same frequency or they would interfere with one another.

I started to work on rifle case incorporated in back of my armor. I needed to store my rifle better so it wouldn’t interfere with my movements. It interfered most when I was rolling. I needed always to take care I don’t roll over it. I could bend or even damage it.

I used electro magnet to hold my rifle. After I placed Fist there plates would cover it and protect it. I needed only to place my hand behind shoulder and with quick command plates would retract and moved up to my hand. If my module was damaged and I couldn’t sent command my hand would suffice. Lastly I made sheaths for my pistols and I was done.

I wanted to make small thrusters in my boots, but I didn’t have right parts for it. I would have to make it another time.

I talked while I was working. I wanted to teach them why I did what I did, but all in all I didn’t know if they were listening or not. After I finished armor I looked at clock. I worked only two hours. I had four more hours before I would have to go to police station.

I turned to Jerry and Lany and they both stared at me. “What? Do I have something on my face?”

First to react was Jerry. “How can you move so fast?”

“Yes, sometimes your hands moved so fast they were just blurred.” Said Lany.

I stared at them, then started to laugh and hug them. I felt heavy weight fall from my heart. I never knew, if I was just emulated personality placed in robotic body or if I was I. I didn’t have any of my previous abilities, or didn’t have them, until now.

I knew what happened. It was my building trance. When I worked, I could move faster than normal. It was probably even more enhanced in this new body.

Both of them were confused by my behavior. “What happened? Was it something we said?” asked Lany.

“No, it was just something that returned to me.” I said with smile.

“You still didn’t tell us how can you move so fast.” Said Jerry.

“I had this ability since I was born. As soon as I work on something I can move faster. I’m in something like trance and don’t know much about what’s happening around me.”

“Yeah, I can see that. You looked like you weren’t even registering us while you were working.”

“That’s because I wasn’t.” I said.

“Can you teach me that?” asked Lany with puppy eyes.

I laughed. “No, I was born like that.”

“Ooo…”She looked down sadly.

“Now if you want, I can teach you how to build some cool things. Of course, only If you want.” I said.

“I want. Teach me.” Said Lany immediately.

“I’d like to learn too.” Said Shyly Jerry.

I rolled my head from side to side. How could someone changed so much in one day I couldn’t understand. Humans were weird. Compared to them machines were simple. Them I could understand.

For next three hours, I thought them how to make basic sensors and shield emitters. They were quick to learn and Lany had knack for making small adjustments that improved basic designs. It was something one learn with time or with talent.

I controlled clock and when time came I stood up. It was time to prepare for my lunch meeting. “I have to go and you should go too. If you get me contact on you, I’ll call you when I start with more upgrades.”

“You do that.” Said Lany and send me her contact information. I gave her mine. She could call me, if she needed help with something.

We bid our farewell and I went upstairs to change into my clothes. I didn’t take my coat, because I wanted to test my new armor. If everything goes as it should, I’ll pay a visit to this local kingpin. Of course, I’ll tell Liray first about it.

● ● ●

At exactly twelve o’clock, I was waiting, before police station. I attracted a lot of stares with my armor, but at least I managed to find some bugs in my armor. Most of them were with shield emitters. I adjusted their frequency and welded one small leak. All in all I was surprised at how good it worked.

About five minutes after twelve I saw detective Kirkland and Greg going out of the building.

“I told you to wait inside.” Said detective.

“I didn’t want to enter like this.” I pointed at my armor.

He looked me over. “Yeah, it could prove unwise. Where did you even take armor like this?”

“I made it. Where we’re going to eat?” I asked.

Greg wanted to say something, but my statement left his mouth open. “You made it?”

“Yes, you heard on council meeting that I volunteered to repair spaceport. I wouldn’t volunteer, if I couldn’t do it.” I said.

“Ok, but why are you even wearing it now?” asked Greg.

“I wanted to test it out and find out all the bugs. I already find some.” I said.

“You seriously want to go in restaurant in this?” asked Greg.

“Yes, right now I have kingpin gunning after me and I killed a lot of mercenaries. They could have friend in town so I rather go like this.” I said.

“Suit yourself, but what is this about kingpin?” asked detective Kirkland.

“Nothing you have to worry about. I plan to talk with him today and make it right.” I said.

Detective didn’t look too thrilled by my admission. “Don’t let it get on my table. Ok?”

“I’ll try.” I said.

“So where do you want to go eat?” I asked.

“We decided to go to nearby restaurant. It’s frequently visited by us policemen. We’ll be using it because there are private rooms where we can talk without anyone eavesdropping on us.” Said detective Kirkland.

I wanted to go to Johnathan’s restaurant, but this was their decision also, so I let it go.

When we entered all eyes moved towards me, but when they saw I was with Greg and detective Kirkland, they turned away.

Greg motioned to waiter and pointed towards back. Waiter just nodded and we moved to back. There was small private room with table. They let me pick my place and I went across room and sat down in the corner. Greg snickered when he saw me, but one look from Kirkland shut him up.

As they sat down waiter came to pick our order. I didn’t order anything. I didn’t need to eat and even if I could, I didn’t want to get my visor down. There were just too many policemen. It could prove disadvantageous later.

I wanted to hide my identity as long as I could. It would protect my friends and me. I made sure that I wasn't followed towards Harr's shop or to Liray's house.

"We should start now. It would take them some time to prepare our lunch. What about you Leya? Aren't you hungry?" said detective Kirkland.

"I already ate so it would be just a waste of money to buy something." I said.

"Do as you want." said Greg and his expression turned to serious. "Did you find out something more that could help us?"

"No, nothing new. Only thing that I could think up is that we were wrong in our theory." I said

"Yes, they had to go after everyone, not just one member and it had to be done by mercenaries, not… how do you call them… nanobots. I thought about it too this morning. I just don't have a clue why use them and not this nanobots." said Greg.

"That's what's getting on my nerves. Why do something like that? They had to have some reason for it. What about you, did you get some new leads?" I said.

"No nothing new. We thought that you could help us work through the city hall with your sensors. Our sensors are useless in this instance." said detective Kirakland.

"I thought about it and I made you small scanners. They shouldn't have problem find out nanobots traces. Only thing is that you have to calibrate them once a month, but I made you data stick with instructions." I said and handed them over scanners.

"We can’t take them! They must have cost fortune." said Greg.

"They cost me as much as three dinners in this restaurant, so it's no problem. I made them myself and I want to find out what is going on. Take them and don’t argue." I said.

“I still can’t believe that you can make something like this.” Said Greg and rolled scanner in his hands.

“It’s just something I picked up along the way.” I said.

“That had to be some way!” said detective Kirkland.

“You could say that.” I said distracted. I thought about what led me to be here. I thought about others and Eleanor. I wanted to meet them once more. Friends I met here were dear to me, but Eleanor and others were my family.

I had to stay like that for some time, because when I get back to me, they talked about sport. We talked more after they ate their meal and in the end we couldn’t think up anything new

We split up and I went back to the shop and they went to the city hall. They wanted to use new scanners and go over all rooms. They wanted to make sure that this attack wasn’t only distraction. I wished them luck and went on to my shop.

Half way there, I once more spotted someone spying on me. I walked around and tried to spot more of them, but it looked like he was alone. I used same tactic as before, but this time I waited for him behind second corner.

Right as he rounded corner he stared to run strait towards me. I waited until he was next to me. I grabbed him by the throat and slammed him on near wall.

“Why are you following me?” I said.

He tried to punch me, but I dodged his fist and tighten my hand on his throat.

“That wasn’t smart.” I said and punched at wall near his face. My fist broke through brick and buried itself in wall. “Now tell me why are you following me?”

I loosen my hand little so he could talk. “Don’t hurt me, I’m just following orders.” He started to cry.

I looked at him and did quick scan to find out if he was faking it, but by his heart was beating too fast. I put him back on ground. “We don’t have to be enemies. Tell me about your boss and I’ll let you go.”

“I can’t, he’ll kill me.” He said wiping tears with his hand.

“No one has to know and I want you to take message to your boss.” I said.

“I can’t tell you anything, but I’ll take your message to him. Tell me and I’ll go immediately.” He talked quickly.

I wanted to know more, but he won’t tell me anything. I could threaten him, but he could just lie to me.

I sighed. “Ok, tell him that I want to meet him tonight. Tell him that I’ll come to talk to his restaurant.”

He was nodding whole time I was talking. “Yes, yes, I’ll go immediately.” He said and started to move away.

I placed my hand on his shoulder and turned him towards me. He looked at me with fear. “One more thing. Tell him to forget his plans against me. If he wants to mess with me, I’ll take him on. There won’t be enough afterwards to put together half a person.” I said coldly.

I let him go and stealthily followed him. He went from me at full run. He stopped after three blocks when he was out of breathe. He looked around, but he didn’t spot me. I was standing on the roof over him.

I saw him smile when he couldn’t see me. He continued on his way. I followed him through whole city until he stopped before restaurant in alien district. I heard about it from Liray. He told me to stay away from it, because it was frequented by criminals.

I should have guessed his base would be here. It was best place for him to do business without anyone noticing. If I were him I would install some back entrance so no one would connect me to this place. While I was thinking about what to do this night, my spy entered restaurant. In a minute or two around ten thugs run out and went into streets.

I made sure none went to Norman and Harr. After that I went back to shop and started to work on equipment I would need this night. I pulled out both drones. They were fist sized black balls. I took them apart and picked good parts from bad. I called Lany, but she didn’t have time. I told her, I’ll tell her later what I made.

Both of them were in pretty good shape, but they didn’t have functioning power source. I had to prioritize, because I wanted to make a lot of equipment. I had to make drone my priority. They were crucial part of my part.

I remade both power sources to smaller ones, which I learned in Virtua. This freed space for more sensors and gadgets. I made small hydraulic hands on one of them. It was borderline tech that I could make with Harr’s tools.

On the second drone, I installed small laser. I could cut with it through obstacles and use it as weapon in pinch. Last space in both drones I used for small relay control and minicomputer. They could work on set of simple instruction or I could connect to them and control them manually.

Next thing I started to work on was small explosives. I could use one drone to place them where I want and blow them up with signal from me. I used more than one type of explosives. There were smoke screens, emp bombs, thermite bombs and stun bombs.

I made small changes to armor and hid there two small bombs from each type. I hid them at both of my wrists. I made small pocket on wrist that I could open with signal to the armor.

Last thing I wanted to do was adjusting my sword. It was too long and hindered my movements. I contemplated on how to do it. I could cut it, but to tell the truth its length was just right for me. If it didn’t hinder me so much, I would have left it as it was.

In the end, I cut it in four parts that would be near sword hilt. As soon as I pull it out, they would slide forward. They were placed on small rail that would extend along with them. When they get in right position they would secure themselves with clamps. I tried it out and everything worked fine.

I had only about hour left, before I decided to go for my visit. I put on my armor and all my gear. I was placing last bomb in bag when I saw Liray enter my workshop.

“There’s word on street that you’re planning to talk to our kingpin.” He crossed his arms before his body.

“Yes, I was just going there.” I said.

“You’ve got to be out of your mind! He’ll kill you! Do you think this is some sort of game?”

“No, I don’t and that’s why I prepared.”

“Really and what magic do you have in that bag? Because only magic could save you from dying.”

I smiled at him. “Oh. Nothing much just some explosives, smoke screens, stun bomb, thermite bombs and emp bombs.”

That stopped him. “You … You what? Do you plan to blow him up?”

“No, but it’ll give him something else to think about. I’m sure he wouldn’t think about killing me with all this bombs placed around his restaurant.” I said cheerfully.

“How do you plan to get them there?” he frowned.

I pointed at two drones that floated to me. “I’ll use these. They’ll place them for me.”

I came to him and placed my hand on his shoulder. I waited until he looked me in the eyes. “Don’t worry Liray. I’ll survive it.” I said then with sad look continued. “I always survive.”

“Why are you so sad? I hope you’re not doing it just to kill yourself.” Said Liray with worry.

“No, I’m not. I was thinking about another time.” I said.

“I’m going with you.” Said Liray.

“No, you’re not. I don’t want to hurt your pride, but you would just hinder me.” I said and winced when I saw his expression.

“Tell me one reason why would I hinder you.” He shouted.

I rubbed my face. “I have armor that could protect me. I have weapons that are more than pinprick. I have body that can take more damage than you ever could. I have more, but you got gist of it.”

I saw him grind his teeth. “Really, why would your body took more hits than mine? You’re just human.”

I had enough of this interrogation. I needed to move and prepare so I changed into how I truly look. “Because metal is harder than skin.”

He looked at me with open mouth. “If we’re done here, I have to go and take care of kingpin.”

He didn’t say anything as I brushed past him. I changed my appearance to human and continued on my way to restaurant. I climbed on roof across from it and started to use drones to place my small bombs around and even in restaurant.

When everything was prepared I moved down and went to restaurant. I was immediately stopped before it. There were five thugs standing before entrance. This time they didn’t take any chances. One of them was even my spy.

“What do we have here?”

“It’s our mysterious stranger. We should look under her helmet. What do you say boys?”

“Yes, we should. It’s not polite to go on meeting hidden like this.”

“We shouldn’t do it. Boss didn’t tell us to do anything.” Said my spy nervously.

I widen my stance and prepared for them. “You should listen to him. We wouldn’t want to start ‘our’ meeting with broken bones.” I said.

That stopped them, but I could see anger in their faces. They would probably continue, if someone didn’t call them. I didn’t hear what he told them, but they obviously didn’t want to listen to him.

“Yes, we’ll let her pass, but we should take her weapons.” There was silence as he listens to someone on the other side. “Ok, we’ll let her pass.”

I walked through them when I felt one of them grab my hand. “After he’s done with you, we’ll talk more.” He smiled sinisterly. I took his hand and squeezed it until I heard bone broke. He howled and fell on ground. Other thugs went for their weapons.

“Stop, I told you to let her pass. If you want to talk about it, come inside and talk to boss. He’ll be thrilled to listen about how you broke command he gave you.” Said alien in tux.

“You should take care of your goons. Lately they are walking around and spying on other people.” I said.

“We’re working on it.” He looked at thug on ground. “Come inside. My boss wants to talk with you.”

I walked behind him until we came to table in the middle of restaurant. There on one seat sat lean man. I was surprised, because he wasn’t alien, but human. He was powerfully built. He had short black hair under which highly intelligent eyes looked at me calmly. More I couldn’t see because he was wearing mask.

“Didn’t expect human to be a kingpin.” I said as I sat down.

“No one expects it. That’s the reason, why no one knows who I am. Now we should move to business.” He said. Both of us didn’t introduce ourselves.

“What do you want to talk about? Tell your man to forget about me, or I’ll take you down.” I said without emotions.

“Why the threats? I just wanted to make sure you didn’t plan anything against me. I now know that you didn’t plan anything against me. They won’t follow you anymore.” He said.

“Ok. I can go now that’s out of the way.” I said and stood up.

“There’s more. I want to talk to you about attack on city hall.” He said and drunk slowly from his glass.

“There’s nothing to talk about. I won’t tell you anything.” I said.

“What if I told you I have information that you don’t? We both want to get on bottom of it. We should work together, not against each other.” He said calmly.

I sat down. We needed more information and if he has them, I needed to get them from him somehow. I went back to my seat. “What do you propose?”

“You’ll tell me what happened there and I’ll tell you my information.” He said.

“How can I tell you won’t betray me?” I asked.

“I’m always keep my word. Everyone knows it and that’s why my threats made others tremble.” He said and his true face peaked at me for a second. I could see cold calculation behind his eyes, but I could also see that he was telling the truth.

“Ok, but you’ll tell me everything that you know.” I said.

“Deal. Now tell me what happened there. I read reports, but they always miss something.”

I told him everything that happened in city hall. More I talked, more I could see his man nervously looking at one another. I hid some my abilities, but I told him everything else.

When I finished, he whistled. “I’m impressed. I’m glad I didn’t start anything against you.” He said.

“I kept my part of a deal. Tell me what you know so I can go.” I said.

“I don’t have much more then you, but I know where their ship is. It’s only couple of kilometers from city. It’s hidden behind small hill.” He said and used small holo projector to show it to me. “We’re planning to get her tonight. I’ll send you all information, I get from it.”

I didn’t listen to him anymore, because I knew this ship. It was mine, Paladin V. I traced hologram with my hand. From the looks of it, it was damaged and needed heavy repairs. Tear went down my eye as I looked at it.

“You know this ship.” Said kingpin with complete certainty.

“Yes, I know it. It belongs to me.” I said.

“I’m sorry, but not anymore. Now it belongs to me.” He said.

I focused my attention at him and he flinched back. “You don’t want to start anything here. You’ll die.” He said but his eyes darted around.

“I placed bombs around this whole building, if you want to threaten someone, you picked wrong target. Now call your team to get away from my ship or I’ll move them away myself.” I said with barely controlled fury. Someone’s going to pay for destroying and stealing my ship.

He blanched when he heard me, but stood his ground. “You’ll die here with us, if you fire them.”

“No, I won’t. Now call off your team and tell them to go away. I won’t repeat it once more.” I said and used this time to put both stun bombs on ground.

I could see his face becoming angry. “You think, you can come here and threaten me? I’ll show you why everyone fears me.” He motioned to his man who went for their weapons.

I kicked both bombs, closed my eyes and shut down my hearing. With signal I fired all six stun bombs and three smoke bombs in restaurant. I felt pressure from stun bombs as they went off. I sprinted towards one of the wall. I sent signal towards two small bombs I placed on it.

Half the wall came down before I got to it. I vaulted through the hole. I chosen this wall because it took me right outside of the building. As I vaulted outside I could see surprised faces of two thugs that stood outside.

I put them out with two punches and run towards end of the alley.

I called Harr on COM. “I need a ride and I need it now.”

“Where do I get something this late in the night?” he asked sleepily.

“I don’t care. If you want you can point me in right direction and I’ll steal one.” I said. I looked behind me, but no one followed me. I climbed on building and hid there.

“What happened?” asked Harr with worry in his voice.

“I had small problem with your kingpin, but that’s not why I need it. Do you have some or not?” I said.

“I don’t, but your friend on scrapyard has small hoverbike. He may be willing to borrow it to you.” He said.

“Thanks, I’ll see you tomorrow.” I said.

“Wait, What ..” he tried to ask, but I ended call and already call Lany. I didn’t have ID on Jerry’s granddad so I called her.

“Who’s this? Why are you calling me this late?” she asked.

“It’s me Leya. I need to borrow hoverbike.” I said.

“I’ll have to ask Gordon, but he loves her. He never borrows it to anyone.” She said.

“I need to borrow it. I don’t have money, but I plan to return it whole.” I said.

“I’ll give you to him.” She said sleepily.

I was already running towards the scrapyard. I needed to get to my ship before they would. Halfway to scrapyard, I heard Jerry’s granddad on my COM.

“Lany told me that you need my Betty. What so important, that you need hoverbike in the middle of a night?” he said.

“I need to get couple of kilometers behind town. It’s really important. I can build you new hoverbike when I return. Please I need it.” I said.

He sighed. “Ok, because you helped me with Jerry. I expect you to return it to me in good shape.”

“I’ll make sure to return it.” I said and smiled under helm. At least little luck went my way.

I went in full run and in a while I was at scrapyard. There Gordon already waited with Hoverbike.

“Thank you. I’d like to talk to you, but I need to go.” I said and jumped on hovebike.

“Not so fast I need to explain to you how to ride with it.” He started to say.

“I’m sorry for this, but it’s emergency.” I said and with quick twist of wrist I pull out from the scrapyard. I immediately speed up for closest gate outside of town. I already knew where I should go from a maps, I downloaded on my way to the scrapyard.

Gate was still open and I went through it at full speed. I could see guards looking startled as I went by them. I approached small hill that hid my ship from sight.

As I get on the top of the hill, I could see dead bodies littering the ground around ship. It had to be kingpin’s man. They didn’t count on automatic defense of the ship. I waited for what would happen and finally doors on ship opened. From it three mans walked out. One of them was obviously in charge.

His man went from body to body and searched them. They took their weapons and everything valuable they could find. After that they went back to ship. I saw them preparing ship for lift of, but I couldn’t let them do it.

I quickly sent my codes towards the Paladin and to my relief he responded. I commanded him to power down everything and open door for me. I jogged towards my ship and entered it with caution. I used scanners and I pinpointed all three man heading towards my position.

First thing first, I contacted Eleanor, but there was no response. With fear in my heart I went to AI core. I went around man that captured my ship. When I get into AI core I could see someone tore it out by force. I could see parts of it hanging there, but core itself was away.

I looked at it with emotionless face. Only emotion that stayed in me was anger. I was never felt so angry in my life. Without stealth, I went towards cargo bay where all three mans were standing. I felt my power core sent more and more energy to my body. I saw my hands and body shine with long line going through it. It was excess energy that I wasn’t using.

As I rounded the corner one of the men saw me. He pointed his weapon at me and time slowed. I run strait at him and dodged his two shots. Two other also pointed their weapons at me, but I was too fast.

With kick I broke hand in which he was carrying pistol. I stopped his screaming when I grabbed his neck and used him as shield. His companions disregarded him and shot at me which resulted in his dead.

I tossed him at boss and pulled Punch. With three shots I dispatched second man. I was before their boss before he could get from under his man. He tried to shot me from the ground, but I kicked his weapon away.

“Who … Who are you?” he said trembling.

“Your death, if you don’t tell me what you did with AI core installed on this ship.” I said.

“We didn’t do anything with it.” He said and looked anywhere, but me.

I put down my helmet and looked at him with blazing eyes and this time it was literally. “You’re lying. Now tell me where is she?” I shouted.

I saw him piss himself. “We sold her. We couldn’t make her do anything for us so we sold her.”

“Where did you sell her?” I roared.

“On nearby planet. It has biggest marketplace from all nearby planets. We have its location on our galaxy map. I can show you.” He said.

I already connected to network and download location of the planet. It was called Qunar. This planet was more of a small asteroid that was used as black market. It would be almost impossible to find her.

“I know where. Now tell me who you sold it to?” I said.

“We sold it to local merchant. I don’t know who he is. That’s all I know.” He said.

I cocked my fist and prepared to knock him out. “We placed tracker on it. Don’t kill me.” He said with tears in his eyes.

“Give me tracker ID and I’ll let you live.” I said.

“It’s in my cabin.” He said and saw me frown. “Your cabin I mean. It’s in your cabin.”

I knocked him out and thrown him in brig. It was in decent state compared to other parts of the ship. I went to cabin and looked for tracker. I found it quickly with scan and downloaded tracker ID from it.

It was time to clean up this mess. I took both dead mercenaries and tossed them out. Local fauna will take care of them. Captain I’ll give to detective Kirkland and Greg. I calmed down as I worked and I could tell, I damaged my body when I pulled too much energy into it. I tore some muscles and damaged some of my metal bones. My Nanobots were already working on it, but their capacity was lowering slowly. I needed to take some materials into my body.

I found kitchen and ate quick meal. This helped, but I needed more. I took more food with me and went to look around the bridge. When I got there I was horrified. Most of the consoles were destroyed or functioning only partially.

I sat down in captain chair, ate everything and with last command to activate defense, I fall asleep.
