《The Unsorcerer》1st Movement: Ghost Eye

The moment I opened my eyes, my head felt as if it was battered with a pickaxe.
“Ugh…”
I groaned as I massage my temples with my thumbs while trying to recall what happened earlier.
If I remember correctly, I was just trying the shades that the Almighty One gave to me then a strange and weird rectangular box thingy suddenly appeared and then after that was pain…
Well, that aside. It seems that I’m still in my inner world, a place that was placed within the heart of my consciousness judging that I’m still floating aimlessly in the sky like a puffy white cloud.
“– That is correct. –“
Which means I didn’t really wake up in the real world, huh?
“– Precisely. –“
And where was One Above All and that strange Raybans? I was sure that he was here a minute ago.
“– My apologies Sir but aside from us, there was no one here. –“
Is that so?
Hmm… Maybe he just vanished in a whim. No surprise about that.
For an entity like him, something like that was just a norm.
But really, he could’ve had leave a message or a note or something–
“!?”
Maybe my thoughts were pre-occupied with the earlier befuddling experience that I neglect the cybernetic voice that kept on responding to my thoughts.
So, with a sense of urgency I whirled my head towards the spot where the odd speech came from.
And my eyes widened at what it just met; a round, spherical translucent golden orb with a diameter of 14 inches and at the center, a 3 x 3 x 3 inch glimmering red cube.
…Wait…how did I know those measurements?
ZIP!
A large amount of figures suddenly invaded my cognizance.
“Keh…!”
I grunted as I grasped the right side of my head, feeling the aching sensation coursing through my mind as if someone was poking it with a stencil.
“– It’s just the result of your procedure Sir, so you don’t have to worry. –“
The translucent orb said as it hovered in front of me.
“Procedure?”
“– Yes. The Power Curriculum Program. –“
“Power Curriculum…Program…?”
As I said those words, a surge of electrical sensation rammed my brain like someone forcefully crammed it with stuff that I didn’t know before.
ZIP!
Data, information.
It came all to me in flashes.
“Power Curriculum Program is a curriculum program developed in the early 23rd century by the United Nations institution to design and unlock a person’s potential in gaining and improving telepathic and empathic abilities by E-M particle exposure. An important ability for exploring the vast richness of outer space.”
I said with impulse while a bit disoriented.
I tried to regain my composure as I looked at the spherical orb.
What was that? How did I know such thing?
And 23rd century? Is it referring to Earth?
But I’m in another world…
This doesn’t make any sense!
“– It seems that you’re confuse. –“
“Of course I am. I have no knowledge what’s going on with me now so could you lighten me up a bit?”
I answered the circular thing with a bit of irritation. Well it could be a normal reaction considering that I don’t know what’s going on with me.
This wasn't my first time being confused with myself.
“– Very well. As you’re assistant, I will explain every information that you wanted to know.”
Hearing that, I adopted a cross-legged sitting posture with both of my arms crossed. Even though its explanation puzzled me, this floating sphere was my only key in finding my answers.

“– To begin with, I am a Virtual Artificial Intelligence and Assistant (V.A.I.A.) created by your brain as a defense and back-up mechanism in order to cope up with large quantities of uploaded data that was transferred in your consciousness. –“
ZIP!
A surge of pain ran in my head as I heard the orb, the so-called artificial intelligence, spoke some various keywords.
And within seconds I fully understood every context that the A.I. spoke of.
“– Are you experiencing it again? –“
I nod my head as I focused my attention back at artificial mind.
“Hn. I believe that your birth is connected with this so called Psions…a subatomic particle discovered by two research groups and announced in 2104. In the later parts of the 22rd century, a group of individuals uncovered that such thought particle are naturally produced by the brain which was exposed to certain amounts of highly-condensed Euclidean-Minkowski particle radiation and long hours of spaceflight and space operations, correct?”
“– Yes. –“
“And since you are created by my brain then that means that you are inside my mind?”
“– Yes. –“
“That also means you know every detail about me…?”
“– Yes. –“
Well that’s kind of…discomforting and troubling.
“– It sure does but you will get used to it. Also being a residence inside your consciousness, I can interpret your thoughts. –“
“That’s invading privacy…”
“– I am a programmed system that is now become a part of your biological functions. So instead of treating me as a person, just think of me as another part of your brain. –“
So it said.
Though a part of me translated its words as a smirking remark.
Whatever…
In any case, I let the information sank in my head.
It was a pill that was hard to swallow but surprisingly my mental fortitude somehow managed to hold my bearings from freaking out.
That aside,
“So do you really know my background?”
It was a dumb rhetorical question I know, but I needed to know if the A.I. really knows all about me.
“– You are Col. Juan “Cipher” Rico of the United Nations’ Task Force 888 “Arcangels”. Born in April 10, 2051. Died in a car accident in November 2085. Top Ace of the Arcangels. Hero of the Great Asian War, U.N.-Remnant War, Liberation of Brussels, and the Second U.N.-Remnant War. Member of a privateer group “Skull Crusaders” for 6 years- – “
“Umm… I think tha– “
“– -before joining UNAF. Racial Ethnicity, Asian-European. Height, 6’2”. Weight, 189 lbs. Penis size, 7-“
“Oi, oi! That went too far!”
I exclaimed hard as I could while waving my hands in the air.
Though I am proud of my size, it was embarrassing to hear it from someone or something else.
“– My apologies. –“
The A.I. said and for some reason I could feel that its apology was sincere…
“Apology accepted. Anyways, you already know about my current situation right?”
“– Affirmative. Though the existence of different dimensions was already proven in 24th century by certain scientists and experiments, to think that the Buddhism and Hinduism belief of reincarnation is a solid fact with valid proof… My hard drives and thought processes are still find it hard to digest the data in mathematical equations. –“
Well, I’m not surprise there.
Even me, who was already been reincarnated on Iarica for almost 5 years now, still surprised and amazed by all of these.
It was as if fiction and fantasy yet embedded in the realms of reality and truth.

My thoughts then went back to the person who concocted this amazing plan and the conversations that we had earlier.
As the scene then became vivid in my head, the image of the pair of black shades resurfaced and in an instant my head then went into an aching frenzy.
After a few seconds, I understood or rather gained knowledge on what that thing was.
The Legacy.
A server of vast encoded data that stores every knowledge and accomplishments that Humanity had gained during their advancement.
It was a system that was inspired from a 2007 action-comedy/spy-drama television series.
Caressing my head, I wondered how did One Above All got his hands on the most confidential intelligence weapon ever created by mankind.
Oh wait, he was a Supreme Being I forgot.
So he can literally do whatever he wants with a flick of a finger.
Now that reminds me, he said something about my life in great danger.
“– There’s no need to worry about it Sir. I’ve already deal with the threat…with a help of a third party. –“
I looked at the A.I. with a raised eyebrow.
--
Instead of explaining, my brain’s self-thought showed me what happened on the outside world when I was unconscious.
From the holographic screen that it materialized, I witnessed everything that transpired.
A black hooded man, a medieval-age assassin based on his behavior and equipment, had tried to kill me. However thanks to the defense protocol of my mind, the A.I. hijacked my unconscious body and fend off my attacker.
At that time I couldn’t help but hugged my body tightly thinking that someone or something managed to control my physique with ease.
On the other hand, it was a part of my brain’s functions but still…
Anyhow, the recorded footage kept rolling as it showed the automated and controlled me fending off from the assassin. Using an energy field that both blocks both physical and energy attacks, it was effective in neutralizing the assassin’s magic imbued physical assault.
It also showed how the controlled me manage to conjure a Glock 17/22 pistol out in the open air and blew off one of the killer’s ear.
Then the footage shifted outside the orphanage where the attacker managed to throw me out the window and overpowered me by his strength and mature build.
As he was about to deliver a killer blow, a slim red hooded female assassin intervened and managed to slay the black hooded man.
The screen then showed the red hooded individual looking at me before carrying me on her back while running away from the orphanage.
In that brief period of time, my head started to ache again as a blurry image of the red hooded individual emerged.
What the heck was that?
Unlike the earlier flashes, this one was different since it was black and white and it felt that somehow I had met this person before.
No, there’s a right time to investigate this. What’s more important right now was to find out what will happen to me now.
--
“– It seems that we are leaving the capital city, Sir. –“
The spherical orb thought informed me as I tried to put another bugging thought at the back burner.
Looking at the holographic screen that showed a map of the entire Vreudipian territory, I could see that we were heading into a forest located at the southern border.
I didn’t question how my brain’s A.I. managed to map out the area since I know that it searched from my memory. One of the first books that I read in the library among some basic information was geography.
And I had to admit that what this A.I. had done was pretty amazing and incredible.
“So we are heading towards the Forest of Never-Ending Silence, huh.”
I remembered some stories and rumors about this forest from the adults. It was more of a horror tale for naughty kids though I wondered why it was called that way…
Nevertheless, judging on how the red hooded female was running it would appear that we would arrive at the location in 2-3 days. Which normally would take 2 weeks by carriage.
“– Affirmative. Currently we are travelling 68.18 mph. –“
Hearing that info, I held myself from letting out a gasp of surprise.
Naturally since this world was filled with fantasy qualities, something like running like a superhuman would be normal in this realm.
Mana and magic was an example to that among other fantasy creatures populating this land.
“Well now that we know where we are heading, I wanted to know when I will leave this place.”
I said as I stared at the golden spherical orb which only give me a glowing reaction from its center.
“– I would advise that you need to stay here for a month, Sir.”
“And why is that?”
The round A.I. then hovered around me as it objectified another screen in the surrounding, where it showed an anatomical structure of a human bones, muscle fibers, organs, circulatory system and nervous system.
“– Your body is undergoing a massive change which will cause muscle pain and many others. As a safety precaution, I created a chemical solution, a serum, to neutralize the side effects to a certain degree and to enhance both your mind and body, preventing it from implosion. –“
With its explanation, I only nod. I didn’t question it any further since as he began explaining and stating some terms, I received another flashes of information in my mind.
To think that the geneticist of the future managed to create an antitoxin that was originally from the comics, they need some applause.
Sigh…I wanted to see how Earth had gotten so far in the future.
“Okay then so what are your suggestions?”
As I said that, two window screens pop up in my front.
Analyzing the contents of each window, I couldn’t hide my surprise and instantaneously looked at the orb with confirmation.
Its single blink of light was the only confirmation I needed to affirm my query.
“– For the meantime Sir, mastering all of this would be a great benefit for you in the near future considering that most of the people here are what we called as superhuman while I will be taking over your body for a considerable amount of time until the process is done. –“
I mentally slapped myself. Of course with all of advancement in science, something like these abilities which were considered as fiction was already a reality on Earth.
“– Not to mention that your presence is considered as a persona non grata in this world, so attaining those abilities might help you survive some conflict in the future. –“
Agreeing to its statement, I scanned the lists for a minute before I remembered something.
“I know that it may be late, but do you have a name?”
“– For a system like me, such trivial matters is no importance. I am programmed to serve my host with my full capabilities. –“
Huh? Even though you said that it doesn’t suit well to me.
“– But if my host insists, then it would be highly appreciated. –“
It responded as it learned my thoughts.
So I squeezed my mind for a possible name.
Something that was unique and techie...
Hmm… Ah!
“Well how about Ghost Eye?”
“– A name from a 2007 arcade flight simulation video games…then Ghost Eye it shall be.”
The A.I. glowed with brilliance and I registered it as a sign of its merriment and vivacity.
So with that, I started browsing the lists with its methods of acquiring and obtaining such abilities.
Though I still don’t know what the Big Guy's installed for me for being here, aside from breaking the World's technological stagnation, I’m determined to live my new life in this world.
