I woke up today feeling pretty good and decided to check my stats and skills. My status, however, surprised me.

All of the sudden I had gained 34 levels without realizing it. No wonder I felt good all my stats had raised! I asked the system how it had happened and as usual a prompt appeared explaining the cause.
Level 86 Slaver Spy Killed by Reactive Fire Trap. Gained Exp. 1,778,567 +(20%) trap kill bonus.
Well, it wasn't a bug my trap killed yesterday! The enemy had been amongst us, and even Zotherg couldn't sense his presence. The Slaver Spy must have had a skill that granted invisibility as well as hiding his presence. The guy must have wondered what I was doing especially since with my eyes I would have been one of his main targets. A deadly sense of crises came over me, and I knew I needed to tell my dad and Emma immediately, but I quickly glanced at my skills menu to check something first.

The reason my trap had been so effective was my [True Elemental] title gave all elemental magic's and skills a plus ten bonus. So even though my trap was unleveled, it had the power of a level 10 skill on its first casting because it was fire.
My [Soul Detect] may have been able to detect him but wasn't always active. I used the skill anyway and only sensed those who were supposed to be here in the village. I extended my sense outward about a quarter mile and as far as the skill would let me. I sensed two groups of sentient life forms. One was far away on the other side of the mountain. The second group was at the base of the mountain in a small valley nearby.

I met up with my dad and called for an emergency meeting. All the more important figures in my village were there. My dad, Emma, Grillo, Luna, and the village guards. I explained what I had discovered. A grim expression covered everyone faces, and raised voices caused a ruckus. My father wrung the side of one of his swords on the log he had been sitting on before. The noise drew the others attention and my father called for silence.
"We will have to investigate both groups immediately," My father commanded.
We split into two groups; one group would contain all our best scouts who would stealthily investigate the farthest away potential threat. My dad, Emma, Luna, And I would be in a group of warriors sent to investigate the other. Even if we ran into trouble with such an armed force, we could handle ourselves. I speak with certainty because Luna would be with us. I usually hated being around Emma's mother because honestly... she frightens me!
Luna was the deadliest archer I'd ever seen in all my lives! She could shoot an arrow in such a way it made Robin Hood, Hawkeye, Green Arrow, and Legolas look like amateurs. She could use the wind resistance from shooting an arrow super close to a tree to turn the arrow in another direction suddenly. She could manipulate the bowstring to do various things like make her arrows spin and go sideways instead of straight out of her bow. When Grillo moved in, she had specialty arrowheads made that did so many special things to her arrows. I suspected the only reason Goblins had managed to capture her was that she was out of arrows and weapons. She had also been severely injured at the time as well. Still, she managed to kill her way out of the Goblin hoard even then. She was a serious badass that even my dad couldn't compare to.
Since we might be meeting trouble and I was the only real mage present I spent my new unused points all on Intelligence bringing it up to 268 and 40 from my [Soul Memory] traits plus 15% bonus. I would need the extra Mp, and after spending the points, it brought my Mp over 30 thousand. I could do some real damage now, and I was ready for some combat holding my ax's in each hand.

The clearing was a dark grey stone with a small crevice cave opening. It would be almost invisible to someone not looking at it from the right angle. A small stream came down over the entrance making a little waterfall style covering as well. As we approached the thirty or so life forms in the valley, Luna spoke up, "This is where the Goblins had taken me when I was captured."
After she had escaped and arrived in our village, we had hunted any Goblins around, but Luna had been unable to find the Den she had escaped from. As we charged from the woods ready to kill some Goblin's Emma shouted for us to stop.
I hadn't noticed at first that she was holding something in her hands and the creatures skin color was the same as hers. Emma by far was the fastest of us all. Her agility was insanely high and was the reason I could never escape her. Her strength was also no joke as she could lift a five hundred pound bolder with one arm. She had gotten to the scene first and in her arms was a baby high goblin, like she herself had once been. We looked around, and all thirty beings were green children of various ages. Some almost as old as Emma physically but all were mentally children.
It was then I realized why the "Dark Lesser God" had been so mad when I broke Emma's curse. I didn't just break the curse for her. I broke the curse on everyone in the world. All it took to ruin a chain was to destroy its weakest link!
Emma commanded me and others to immediately perform various tasks like fetching clothes from the village. I had instinctively done what she asked without saying anything. My task had been to fetch buckets of water and to heat them with my magic as well as use [Soul Speak] to communicate with the children. Emma also seemed to be able to communicate with them using her [Red String of Fate] Trait. The children really took a liking to her as she was kind and obviously one of their own.
As I was bringing the twelfth pail of hot water, I saw a familiar image. One I had thought I would never see again. Emma was washing a child in a bin with a gentle smile and a glow about her. The angelic image I had seen many times before when Lucille had taken care of Trevor. I dropped the pail I was holding. How could it be her? I asked myself. All my memories with her flashing before my eyes as if they just happened, but this time I saw from a different angle. I saw all the subtle things she did, the way she looked at me. How could I have not noticed? The answer was simple: I had not thought of her as having gender, but even more so she was a literal saint and celebrity. There were factions of the Catholic church waiting for her soul to pass on before adding her to the ranks of saints. On some level, I must have subconsciously noticed, but I wouldn't have thought myself deserving of her.
In my shock at the revelation of Emma's identity, I let "Lucille" escape my lips as I dropped the pail of water. Emma stopped what she was doing and looked at me saying "what" before her expression changed realizing I had said her previous life's name. The two of us blankly stared at each other for a moment before Emma said "... Took you long enough".

Bao, threw himself in such a world but without thinking of the consequences of such a deed, for nobody asked themselves, what if life in this virtual world is better than reality and even worse what if the boundaries between the two become indistinct? © 2021 All rights reserved to the author under the pen name Q_Yuumo.

Legendary Farmer (available on Kindle July 2022!)
NOTE: Legendary Farmer is now COMPLETE. The first book, Clearing, was released on Kindle Unlimited July 5, 2022 with significant edits. I will post the first chapter of Clearing, as well as three chapters of Cuckoo's Dream, another novel in the LF universe, as a stub, with a link to the first book, so if you love LF and want me to be able to keep writing consistently, please go give Clearing five stars! In the VRMMORPG, Veritas Online, things are getting a little stale. Since the game launched, only one world- wide event has occurred, and that was a year ago.. The players are still having fun, but everyone agrees it’s about time for something big to happen. Everybody tends to forget that big things grow from small things, and little things are always changing in Veritas. The human country of Quarternell is at peace for the first time in... ever. Aspen, a former war hero, feels like he’s earned a quiet life together with his animal companions. They’re tired of fighting, and other people in general. They plan to live peacefully, far away from the city. As soon as Aspen figures out this farming thing out, he’s never going to go anywhere again. Unfortunately for Aspen, his country and his goddess aren’t quite done with him yet.Rouge the Rogue is a casual gamer in Veritas Online. She’s just a kid, and her focus is supposed to be on school and hanging out with friends. Emphasis on ‘supposed to’. She’s already pretty good at the school thing, and she doesn’t actually have that many friends. What she really loves is exploring all the cool ways the developers of Veritas found to make their game unique and realistic. Then she’s offered a very special quest, and an opportunity to go beyond the average player. She’s never been that much of a rule follower anyway....Clearing is appropriate for most ages. It has minimal foul language, no sex, and some violence. It is LGBTQ+ friendly. (P.S. IMPORTANT! This book contains very mild profanity, no sex, and is meant to be FUN. Yes, the characters sometimes think Deep Thoughts, and idealism pretty much runs rampant, but, in the end, I hope you just enjoy reading it. Laugh, cry, share it with your kids, read it to your dog, whatever makes you happy. My goal is for it to be accessible to everyone from ages 12ish on up, so you could definitely consider it YA, but with lots of big words because I don't believe in talking down to my readers.) Book Two: Harrowing (Starts after the original Chapter Fifty, now Sixteen, since I condensed chapters from the same perspective together.) Zoey has started her summer internship at Veritas Corporation, and she can honestly say that being an adult is boring. Until she starts learning secrets she was never supposed to know. In game, Rouge is finally making progress on her big quest. Apparently Duke Penbrooke took too long to return to the world, so the world is coming to get him... in the form of a few assassins. Aspen is going to have to face the life he left behind, and deal with the fact that it's not as easy being 'dead' as he thought. When what he'd hoped would be a short trip back to civilization to resupply turns into a whole lot more, he'll have to fight for his life, his friends, and his kingdom. Book Three: Sowing Rouge and Aspen have reached Bright, only to find that their enemies were already expecting them. They will have to quickly unravel the mysteries of who their opponents actually are, because they're already ten steps behind. Rouge and Aspen are finally home, but that doesn't mean they can return to their peaceful days of farming. Their enemies are hot on their heels and determined to destroy everything they've managed to achieve. Join them and all their friends for the final volume of Legendary Farmer.

The Tales of Hammerfall
Raph woke up in a body that wasn't his, in a world that wasn't his own. A world where power is respected, magic is real, classes are prevalent, and monsters are normal. What he does with this opportunity is yet to be seen, but it will be recorded. These are The Tales of Hammerfall. --- Note: After writing a few chapters now, I realise how this isn't perfect. This is the first thing I have ever written and it isn't completely consistent. It may get better as I write more, please bear with me.

Deviant's Masquerade: The Huntsman's Quest (An Urban Magic Quest/RPG)
Jon Whitaker went to summer camp expecting a nice relaxing time as a newly minted counselor in training. He was not expecting to fight an army of monsters, work with a serial killer, enter a one-sided friendship with an eldritch horror, or study under a competing witch and dark lord. But regardless of what he was expecting, his summer is over and he's made his way back home where he can try and return to a normal -for him- life. Too bad life rarely goes as expected. --- Please Note: This is forum quest/RPG I run in the same city/setting as my other stories Hacking Reality and Get Ink'd, meaning that while a majority of the plot is made up by me, the major choices as well as what each chapter is about are usually made by the actual readers in forum votes. Additionally, given how this is essentially a story version of a Tabletop game there is also a background RPG system that while the characters aren't necessarily aware of, the readers can see these stats to know how each chosen 'Action' effects their character's development.
