《The Lightning Emperor》Chapter Thirty Four - Examples Must Be Made

Three academy teachers, with pale faces and bloodied robes, hurriedly approached Kiso. They kowtowed immediately and one of them cried out with his face still plastered to the stone floor, “Young master Kiso! You must stop them!”
Chapter Thirty Four –
Ned’s ashen face parted from the floor to look up at Kiso, a strong pleading expression painted his face. He knew Kiso didn’t have any particular reason to help them, yet begging him had become his only option.
Kiso finally recognized Ned’s face amongst the gashes and bruises, “Ned? What happened?” He asked as he moved to start healing him immediately.
Ned, feeling the warmth of Kiso’s spiritual pressure soothing his wounds, couldn’t help his eyes from turning a deeper shade of red. “Young master Kiso.. I know it doesn’t have anything to do with you but…” Ned hesitated, searching Kiso’s face for concern.
Seeing that Kiso did appear to have a hint of said concern, Ned continued, “The enmity between our academy and the Eastern Light Academy is deep! Through the years, regardless of whether or not it was under Hanzi’s control or not, we’ve been engaged in a ruthless war with them!
After you defeated those Apostles of Death, those Eastern Light Academy teachers naturally wouldn’t feel fulfilled! They simply waited until you disappeared to launch their second attack!”
Ned’s words caused Kiso to be taken aback.
“They attacked the academy? Even after the Apostles of Death were dealt with? Really?” Kiso found Ned’s words hard to believe.
Yet, seeing is believing. Kiso needed only to spread out his spiritual pressure zone to observe several isolated conflicts all across the academy’s grounds.
Fortunately, when Kiso formed the contract with Yuansing, his spiritual pressure had not only completely recovered but rather made a qualitative leap into the sixth stage. The sixth stage brings spiritual pressure cultivators several benefits Kiso has yet to even become aware of.
The first and foremost benefit is spiritual pressure density.
From a gassy vortex of spiritual pressure into a single solid egg, Kiso current spiritual pressure can be considered three times as much as before.
With his revitalized and increased spiritual pressure, Kiso could clearly sense all of the various fights around the academy. Clearly, the students and teachers amongst the Eastern Light Academy had a significant advantage.
Although Kiso had just recently spoken with several elders from their side and had a good impression of them, he didn’t believe the remaining Hanzi Academy students deserved death.
“Master Kiso.. The others.. Please..” Yan’s soft plea sealed the deal.
Kiso glanced over at Yuni and said, “Come on Yuni, let’s get this over with. I don’t believe they’ll continue to fight if we simply “ask” them nicely to leave.”
As Kiso and Yuni moved towards the cell door, Kiso called back to Yan, “Yan, make your way towards the north gate and continue up the northern road a few miles. We’ll catch up after we resolve this issue.”
Seeing Kiso intended to help, Ned and the other teachers revealed a thankful expression and could only continuously thank him as he departed the cell.
Kiso and Yuni quickly found a window in the prison corridor and flew out into the cool autumn sky. Rising through the air the scene of battle between the two academies could be seen playing out below.

Frowning, Kiso thought to himself, “I guess after years of fighting and seeing countless companions fall to the hands of their enemies, this is to be expected.”
Yuansing’s voice also sound out, “Kiso, although you can stop this current battle, the war will continue on. It’s better not to get involved in these things..”
Although Kiso thoroughly agreed, he sighed and helplessly shook his head, “Indeed, I’ll only be adding another possible enemy, but remember, my uncle Ruddy is down there. Not only that, but Yan even had that look on her face when she pleaded with me.. Didn’t you see it? Could you say no to that face?”
If Yuansing could show a human face right now, it would be that of a nodding perverted old man.
In other words, Kiso words were ones he couldn’t argue with.
After flying to the air occupying the space above the Osian Tower, Kiso stopped. He scanned his surroundings then gave a meaningful look at Yuni asking, “You are okay with this right?”
Yuni smiled and shrugged her shoulders replying, “Why not? Although I’d rather get on the road sooner, your uncle is down there, we should step in for his sake.”
Hearing her words, Kiso nodded then thought to himself for a moment.
Taking a deep breath, Kiso concentrated a small amount of spiritual pressure into his throat to amplify his voice. A moment later, his high octane voice shook the skies above the academy carrying his words one at a time:
STOP .. FIGHTING .. RIGHT .. NOW!!!
Each and every one of the students below who had just been locked in life and death battles a moment ago, couldn’t help but jerk their heads towards Kiso’s direction. Seeing him “standing” in the air above the Osian Tower, nobody dared to make another move.
Except one.
Directly on a close street visible from the Osian Tower, a white robed girl sneered and lashed out at the four young men surrounding her. Taken by surprise, they couldn’t react in time and were all violently swept back. The light natured spiritual pressure emanated from that girl filled her sweeping kick with a formless pressure that caused the four boys to shoot back and crash into various buildings. The speed at which that pressure caused them to move with made their collisions extremely horrible.
Bones cracked and blood sprayed from their mouths. Their limp bodies fell to the ground, never to rise again.
Had they not shifted their attention towards Kiso, perhaps they could have avoided or countered the attack. Unfortunately, Kiso had created to high of an image in their minds and they couldn’t help but heed his words.
Seeing the girl directly ignore his words, Kiso couldn’t help but furrow his eyebrows.
With his excellent vision, Kiso could clearly see that the young girl from the Eastern Light Academy was a stunning beauty. An example needed to be made of her, yet he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
Bashfully glancing in Yuni’s direction, Kiso tilted his head in the direction of the girl saying, “Yuni, we have to make an example of that girl… If we let her off, how will our words be worth anything anymore? Instead, let’s use this opportunity to scare the Eastern Light Academy students out of here.”

Kiso had originally planned to simply ask them to leave. However, seeing the battle between the two sides, that shallow request seemed somewhat far-fetched. Obviously, a show of resolute action would be needed.
Yuni frowned, “You want me to kill her? I’m not sure I can go around ending people like you Kiso…” Even though Yuni has killed before, she didn’t prefer to do so.
Hearing this, Kiso sighed. It seems his plan wouldn’t be so simple.
While Kiso and Yuni were deciding how to take care of her, the girl turned her attention towards them. She didn’t know who those two were exactly, but they actually dared to order around her entire Eastern Light Academy.
Having spent almost her entire life in the care of the academy, she had seen tens of her close friends die at the hands of Hanzi Academy. After so many years, her academy had finally accumulated enough experience to fight back. She alone held the highest position among the students of the academy. Nobody even dared to speak half a word against her.
With this sort of attitude, those two who actually wanted to interrupt her revenge were simply looking to die.
Taking long strides, she began walking towards Osian Tower. Before she even got halfway, one of the figures disappeared out of the sky.
“Huh?” She couldn’t help but blink a few times. Her eyes never once unlocked from them, yet two had certainly become one.
As soon as she had realized this point, someone tapped on her shoulder. Spinning around to confront the owner of the finger, she only saw a handsome young man for a moment before she felt a fist smash against her face and her world went dark.
Several tens of minutes later, the girl’s conscious slowly stirred. The faint mumbling voices gradually became clearer.
“….Kiso, don’t stare!”
“Why not? This was your idea…”
“…Still, don’t stare!”
The girl kept her eyes shut, feeling out the situation. The first bit of information hit her brain like a bolt of lightning.
She discovered… It was cold!
Her eyes shot open, darting around to observe her surroundings.
That same handsome young man was bickering with an extremely pretty young girl. From their conversation, she quickly gathered their names.
She was about to open her mouth to shout curses at them, but instead discovered a few more pieces of information regarding her situation. A rope was binding her hands and legs while another was wrapped around her head forcing her mouth open.
As she moved to struggle with her restraints, the young man noticed her.
“So.. Our little troublemaker woke up did she?” Kiso shifted his gaze from Yuni to the bound young lady.
Her formerly white robed body was now completely void of a single thread. She seemed to realize this and her face became extremely red. She tried to shout at Kiso but the rope obstructed her from doing so.
Seeing this, Kiso laughed and asked, “Tell me girl, if I remove that rope and let you speak, will your words lead to your death?”
Kiso’s words caused the young lady’s face to drain color. She wanted to cry out but held back and instead shook her head.
Kiso smiled as he moved forward and removed the rope around her head then asked, “Alright. So, does the troublemaker have a name?”
“…Jerrico.” Her voice contained obvious contempt, but she was completely aware of her situation. These two before her held her life in their hands.
Yuni stepped forward coming side by side with Kiso and spoke up, “Jerrico, I’m sure your wondering who we are and why we’re doing this to you. To make things simple, just know that a member of our family lives in the previous Hanzi Academy.”
Jerrico’s eyes flashed with understanding, yet Yuni’s words created a question in her heart.
“What do you mean… Previous…” She couldn’t help but ask.
Hearing the question, Kiso smiled and offered a free explanation about the last few weeks. Strangely, when he spoke his voice was loud as if he was speaking to someone tens of meters away.
Jerrico’s eyes finally looked beyond the two in front of her. The scene behind Kiso and Yuni caused her stomach to lurch and her eyes to bulge.
If it was only these two that had seen her naked body, she could still mentally get over it. However, behind them were waves of students all straining their necks to get a good look.
Although the students segregated themselves, they still put aside their differences to get a look at the naked beauty bound against the Osian Tower.
Fury finally started to overtake her embarrassment as Jerrico’s eyes reddened from anger. “You!!!” Her loathing voice was entirely directed at Kiso, causing him to shake his head.
He smiled and pointed over at Yuni.
“You should direct that anger at her. I wanted to just kill you. She’s the one that had a “better idea”…” Kiso shamelessly put all the blame on Yuni.
As Jerrico was about to say something, Ting’s figure emerged from the sea of students and made his way towards Kiso with his head lowered.
Just now, he had heard Kiso’s story.
When he reached a few meters behind Kiso and Yuni, he knelt down and called to them, “Young Masters! Your servant was wrong! Please.. Allow me to accept punishment on behalf of my academy.”
Hearing Ting’s words, Kiso turned around. He studied Ting’s body for a moment before waving his hand, “Enough. Jerrico here has accepted punishment on behalf of your academy already. Consider today’s matter water under the bridge and leave. I’ll send Jerrico after you later.”
Ting didn’t dare to argue and instead quickly retreated, leading his forces away.
Kiso and Yuni stood silently, watching them shuffle towards the eastern gate.
The other students also didn’t dare stick around and left as well.
Alone in the center of the academy, below the Osian Tower, Kiso and Yuni finally returned their attention to Jerrico.
The setting sun cast an amber light onto Jerrico’s pale skin, causing her beauty to ascend another level. If Yuni wasn’t present, perhaps Kiso would be unable to resist taking a sample for the road.
Instead, he waved his hand a white robe appeared. He walked up to Jerrico and started to untie her. As the ropes were untied, Jerrico fell to her knees. Kiso draped the white robe over her shoulders and knelt down as well.
With an apologetic look on his face, he said, “Sorry Jerrico. Sometimes, examples must be made.”
