Chapter 23: Be As One
“That’s some overpowered stat gaining from those weapons!” I exclaimed. Emi mirrored similar sentiments.
“Yeah but those weapons were only for the first who completed the cave,” Angil explained, “People afterwards would get decent equipment if they actually found the cave but you guys got a special reward as the first ones to discover and complete it.”
“Is what you used to change the Status Tag magic?” I wondered, perhaps this was the person to teach us about the magic that can be used.
“Yeah I’m a mage by profession who took up blacksmithing and jewelry making as side hobb-.”
“Could you teach us how to use our special talents?” Emi interjected rather excitedly.
“Sure, I won’t teach you magic per se but rather how to utilize and understand this special talent’s basic principle.”
“Great that would be so so helpful!” Emi replied.
Angil he took us out of the cellar to a nearby river outside his inhabitance and then he proceeded,
“You have to calm your core down. Be able aware of both yourself and the things around you,” he instructed us to sit down cross legged and basically if I were to compare it to my previous life, meditation.
“Breath in and out, take the same amount of time for each. Pay special attention about the surroundings around you. The sounds, the smells, everything.” He while we were sitting down meditating had positioned himself in front of us and followed his own instructions.
“Feel the wind as it blows through you, the sounds of the insects in the river, the smells of nature.”
I concentrated trying to be aware of both the world around me and inside myself. It was a rather hard task to get right. I had always been more of a person who focused on task, that being reading in my past life, but this exercise was forcing me to take a wider view of the world. The world around me as a whole, I had never realized how vibrant and full of life this world was.

I tried stretching my senses to the extreme taking in as much of the world as I could. As my eyes were closed I almost tried to imagine the world around me through my other senses. Stretching them to their utter limits in exchange for a better understanding of the world. I felt a flash-
I was suddenly transported mind away from my body which I could now see meditating along with Emi who seemed to be rather struggling but nevertheless trying. It was always a comforting feeling being around Emi who tried so hard and persevered. Perhaps that was one of the reasons I had arrived at this point in this new life. Without Emi I wouldn’t have found Angil, Without Emi I wouldn’t have bought the ring. Without Emi I wouldn’t have survived the cave. Hell without Emi I would not be here.
Anyway I had to push that out of my mind as I seemed to be floating around. I saw Angil’s spirit actually peeking around away from his body. He spotted me and floated up. What surprised me was that his spirit was not in the guise of his normal body’s image but rather a modified one which seemed to have taken some cues from a bird, with the feathered body and ah the fierce eyes of the Eagle. Perhaps he was an eagle?
I looked at my own body in the reflection of the river and saw that even myself was not my own human image but rather one that was some sort of reptilian inspired version of myself. I noticed that I could see far more straight ahead than I could as a human but my peripheral vision had been altered. My vision also seemed to be dyed heavily blue. My whole body took on a rougher leathery like feel to it and my nails had become more clawlike. It was a weird feeling being a reptile but nonetheless an interesting one.

“Welcome to the Magic World.” Angil spoke.
I peered around and for some reason everything around me seemed to have something like the Aurora Boreas being. The energy flowed out an in from one being to the next, animals and plants alike. Even my own body had a reservoir filled with this ethereal energy. It was amazing, the different living beings seemed so vibrant even the ground itself had specks of the same energy around. It was breathtaking.
“Ah I see your companion is starting to also feel it too.”
I looked at Emi and saw the beginning of her spirit freeing herself from her body. It was rather interesting seeing her struggle with it but still persevere through. Focusing more and more on the world around.
She finally broke free of her earthly constraints and glided around. She was seemed to have a horn on her head and pale white skin which immediately gave me the impression of a unicorn in the fairy tales. All majestic and proud.
“Welcome Emi to the Magic World.”
I could see she was rather shocked that an eaglesque human was talking to her and I tried to clear up the confusion.
“I’m the reptilian human and Angil is the eagle-like human. You should have a look at yourself too. Try looking through the water!”
She glided through the air to the river. I heard a sudden sound of shock as she discovered herself changed too.
“I’m a horned horse now! Whaaaaaaat?”
“Yeah I can definitely understand being part some sort of reptile will take some getting used to.”
“These are your spirit animals merged with your own bodies that embody your true selves.”
“Do you know what they mean? I asked curious for the reason I was a part reptile.
“No one knows except the person himself. Even the person can only guess why he was given the animal.”
“This is so amazing!” Emi exclaimed.
“Its so psychedelic seeing the world like this.”
“You guys are ready for the next step to truly understand your Special Talent.”

Please note: the Sexual Content tag is there due to a single brief plot-relevant scene, which has a warning at the beginning. For other details, read the full description below. Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 5 x 5*, 2 x 4.5*, 1 x 0.5* During a blackout, a frail and ragged old woman stops to ask for a glass of water from a backyard barbecue party. Given a good supper instead, she looks around the group, and tells them, "Be who and what you truly are." Days later, seven of the people from the barbecue find themselves drawn into a trap laid by a pair of wizards and their accomplices, who kidnap them into a bubble reality. All seven, who have known each other all their lives, are informed that they are not in fact entirely human: they have active fae blood, due to a series of conditions culminating with the blessing of the elderly fae woman. The transformation into fae form comes as a shock: all seven, whether originally female or male, find themselves now unreasonably beautiful women. More urgent even than that, though, is their captivity. Getting back to the real world is a higher priority than this metamorphosis that rapidly begins to feel natural... but this is only the first step, as the diverse types of fae blood they carry begin to surface. With no resources except themselves, how can they escape this prison? If they succeed, how can they possibly reclaim their lives? Just how many other faelings have been kidnapped, anyway, and what happened to them? And is there a way to make sure that their captors never put anyone else through this? Back in the real world, Kayla, who learned long ago to trust her gut instincts, is absolutely certain that something is very wrong. The pattern in the list of missing friends is easy to spot, but makes no sense at all. Then a young woman turns up at the backyard gate who knows more than she should, and even though her explanation makes even less sense, every instinct tells Kayla that Riley is her only way to get them back. If they're not quite what they were, well, that's a bridge to cross later... Just a little note: I'm a big believer in endings that are upbeat but not candy-coated, and not a fan of grim-and-gritty or of glamorized violence. These are adults in a difficult situation. However, no one gets raped, and the physical violence is, all things considered, fairly minimal. There is some harassment, sexual and otherwise, and also some mild restraint and mild verbal abuse. Complicating factors are generally wizardly or fae in nature. If I need to warn you about gender in this being all over the map, some of it reality-based rather than fantasy-based, highly diverse sexuality, or that there is (especially later) some indirect fetish/BDSM imagery and honest character discussion, then you probably should just avoid everything I write. :-) Also available on Scribble Hub.

Realm Of Assola
The story follows Aron, a young beggar. Having lived in a ruined village for as long as he knew of himself and with the lack of food combined with harsh conditions, he isn't happy with his current life. With the war on the horizon, their village being close to the border between kingdoms. And an increased number of people, soldiers going through the village. Things are bound to change. Realm Of Assola is a big world, that will be revealed as the young beggar Aron gets on his feet, and expands his horizons. With the kingdom that allows slavery, and the increasing amount of casualties. The demand for them increased. But will that turn out to be a good thing? There will be classes, spells, magic, and more. About classes, they will be somewhat close to LitRPG but the focus won't be on them. They will be used as means, not the focus. You could say that it has a slow start, but it is more that Arons progress will be somewhat slow. And it takes him some time to adapt and find a way to improve. Daily updates for the first fifteen or so chapters. At that point, I will most likely have to reduce it. To something more manageable. So I decided on a schedule, every day at 18:00 CET new chapter should be up.
