Feng Xing approached the 7th rank of the Tempering path with an astonishing speed. He felt that he only needed a day or two to breakthrough.

Feng Xing decided to go ask Grand Elder Ran if he could visit his family first, The Grand Elder accepted immediately and let Feng Xing go. On that day Feng Xing went to Feng Lao and his clan, only to be met with shocked faces everywhere. Although Feng Xing already expected this, his father just went crazy.

"Feng Xing.. you clearly have been hiding your strength haven't you? If not..." Feng Kong suddenly calmed down and asked Feng Xing.

"Yes, father.. I've been hiding my strength for a while now. This is the truth." Feng Xing sternly replied. After hearing this Feng Kong felt a bit of relief. He almost thought his son had been taken over by someone.

"But why had you never told me this... your own father, and you always told me you wanted to become stronger." Although Feng Kong felt a bit of relief he still needed to get to the root of this.

"I wanted to surprise you." Feng Xing smiled. He hoped that his father wouldn't question any further after his reply.

"Ah, I see now... ahahaha... you sure fooled me huge.." Feng Kong felt a bit disappointed in Feng Xings answer, but also felt shameful not noticing that his son had been fooling him all along. He didn't feel good at all.

"Father, what's wrong? Aren't you happy for me?"

"Unfilial son... of course I'm happy for you..." Feng Kongs proud face suddenly returned. What father wouldn't be proud if his son was outstanding. This would always remain.

After the two chatted for a while Feng Xing wanted to leave immediately, but suddenly met some familiar faces.

It was Feng Yun and Feng Yue. Feng Xing had not seen them ever since the day of the recruiting by the Moonfire Sect. Unexpectedly Feng Yun and Feng Yue also heard that he was going to proceed to another Sect that was even more powerful than the current one.

Feng Yun came here to apologize, and ask for forgiveness while Feng Yue only came to see Feng Xings progress.

"Please forgive me, Feng Xing... I was being a bit unreasonable back then. I'll also apologize on behalf of my foolish brother." Feng Yun sincerely wanted to apologize. Feng Xing wasn't narrowminded so he forgave him, they were family after all.

"Don't mind it, we're family after all." Feng Xing said with a smile. Feng Yue was getting a bit impatient, It seems she wanted to ask a question.

"Speak, seeing you act like this isn't fun after all." Feng Xing didn't have much time, he had to return within a time period. That's what he promised the Grand Elder.

"Alright, I'll be straightforward then. What's your current cultivation base?" Feng Yun seemed to also be curious. They stared at Feng Xing trying to figure him out. The past month Feng Xing just changed way to much after all.

"Oh, you only wanted to ask that? I'm only at the 6th rank currently."

"What!" The two were shocked, even though the clan elders didn't know. They knew that Feng Xing was only at the 4th rank not to long ago. This speed was astonishing...

"How..." They both now wanted to know how he did it, but seeing Feng Xing only smiling and not answering they knew that he didn't want to answer so they just let it slide.

Geniuses always had a few secrets they didn't want to let people know. It was normal, all geniuses had something to conceal, be it a treasure or a lucky encounter. They wouldn't tell others.

"Alright, I should be heading back now."

After finishing his business with his family, he finally headed back to the Moonfire Sect. It was about time he asked what sect they were talking about yesterday. He also still has some business left with Xiao Ling, he was looking forward to her answer.

30 minutes later.

"Master Shui, would you just tell me already which sect it is?" Feng Xing was genuinely curious, he wondered which top sect of the Southern Nantian Kingdom it was after all.

Each continent had 9 kingdoms, and each kingdom had one true powerful Sect that stood out. One of the 9 Great Sects of the Nantian Continent was the Black Gods sect. There were some rumours about the founder of the Sect, apparently he reached the Ascension Realm and ascended to the realm above. Nobody knew if this was true or not, but Feng Xing sure did!

"What! That Sect still exists!?" Feng Xing now had a shocked expression. He almost spurted those words out, but restrained himself. Grand Elder Ran seemed to notice this, and asked : "Hahaha, I see you are shocked now! Amazing Sect right? Only you and Xiao Ling will be recommended by us."

The Grand Elder was finally happy seeing Feng Xing with such an expression, he finally succeeded in making Feng Xing surprised.

Feng Xing actually knew the founder of the Black Gods Sect...

In his previous life, they were actually very good friends. the founder's name was later changed to Black God after he ascended to the Realm of Gods, so Feng Xing actually never knew his name, but Black God also didn't know Feng Xings name as it was also later changed to Ancient Ruler. One of the things Black God talked about with Feng Xing was his own Sect : The Black Gods Sect.

Both were very good friends and Feng Xing still remembered those good times. Black God was also one of the only people that didn't betray Feng Xing. He even warned him, but Feng Xing didn't believe that he would be betrayed. In the end he suffered.

"Black God..." Feng Xing seemed to be in deep thought, so the Elder left after that.

"Hahaha, do you regret now that I've told you? Just think about it more then ahahaha." The Elder left with a proud expression.

"This sure is a small world ahaha.... I'll take good care of your descendents." Feng Xing now was determined to pay back what he owed the Black God.

"I guess when I come back to the upper realm I'll have much to talk about with you." Feng Xing smiled. He knew that Black God was still alive, it was pretty hard to get rid of him after all. The last time Feng Xing saw him, he was already at the middle stages of the Ascension Realm.

"Time to move and hear the answer of Xiao Ling." Feng Xing immediately sprinted out his room. He wanted to know the answer after all.

10 minutes later.

Currently in a room, a beautiful girl was cultivating on the bed. Peerless cold beauty, was one word to sum it up. Suddenly the door flew open and a handsome youth walked in.

This was Feng Xing. The girl immediately opened her eyes, and coldly glared at Feng Xing.

"Can't you knock? What do you want." She coldly asked.

"I want to hear your answer.. did you forget about my proposal last time?" Feng Xing didn't seem to be affected by her glare at all. This girl was Xiao Ling.

"Oh about that.. why not? Learning something like Energy Control is pretty important to me after all." Although Xiao Ling felt disdain for him. She still wanted to learn Energy Control from him.

"Ahahaha, good choice. Like i said you won't regret it." Feng Xing smiled. He was quite happy, now he could fully groom a disciple who had limitless potential.

"But make sure to lend me a hand later when I need you." Feng Xing left after saying that. She was bound to be a strong comrade later if groomed right after all.

Xiao Ling seemed to be confused, but didn't care anymore and continued cultivating.

They would leave tommorow to go and pass some trials to get accepted, so she wanted to be in top condition for that.

10 minutes later.

Feng Xing was now back in his room. He decided to breakthrough tonight for tommorow.

"My strength should then be sufficient to pass." Feng Xing already calculated his strength. After breaking through he should be able to wipe out 9th rank cultivators of the Tempering Path very easily, and his body strength would be equal to the middle stages of the Martial Path.

Reaching the second level of the won't be soon. It was very hard to advance a level after all.
