《*DISCONTINUED*》Chapter 2 : First Battle

More and more people gathered. Most clan members even started betting.
"I'll bet two bronze coins on Feng Yun!"
"Me too!"
The majority was on Feng Yun's side while only a few people bet on Feng Xing. The people who bet on Feng Xing noticed his unusual behaviour and wanted to see if something interesting happened.
At this moment, Feng Yun released his aura... which didn't contain True Energy, but he still struck fear into the clan members who were below 4th Rank of the Tempering Path.
People in the Martial Path could only use and cultivate True Energy, while Energy was only used in the Tempering Path.
Feng Yun's energy was especially dense because he stayed at the 4th rank for a decent amount of time already. This could be dangerous for Feng Xing if he was a normal cultivator just stepping into the 4th rank, but fortunately Feng Xing already cultivated with the . Feng Xing had energy comparable to someone of the middle 4th rank.
Both of them fully released their aura's. Some of them were surprised at Feng Xing's aura which clearly indicated that he was at the 4th Rank of the Tempering Path.
"So you finally broke through, but that still won't save you at all!" Feng Yun laughed, while actually being a bit surprised.
Swoosh!
In a flash, Feng Yun began his barrage of wild punches.
"Fool..." Feng Xing obviously already expected this, He dodged every punch perfectly like he was used to it for years already.
This surprised everyone.
"Has he always been this agile?..." Most people thought.
Pats!
Suddenly a punch flied straight into Feng Yun's face which made him stagger backwards...
"How..." Feng Yun now bleeded from his nose, and his previous arrogant expression changed into a confused expression. He obviously didn't see the punch coming.
"To many openings... throwing wild punches doesn't let you control anything. Only a fool would throw punches like you.." Feng Xing said.
Feng Yun and the other clan members who bet on Feng Yun now had an ugly expression on their faces. They didn't expect Feng Xing to actually win... and only in 1 move!
This was way to humiliating.
"You obviously cheated!" Feng Yun exclaimed. He just couldn't believe he lost against the person who everyone saw as trash.
"Yea! cheater!" Everyone who bet on Feng Yun started shouting.
Feng Xing didn't care and proceeded to go and get some food.
"I still have over an hour of free time.. I'll go eat something I guess."
It was no surprise that he won, with his rich battle experience and reflexes. It was obvious that Feng Yun who was like a newborn child to him would lose...

1 hour later.
"The food wasn't that bad... for this clan I guess." Feng Xing went back into his room and started cultivating. He slowly slipped into a wonderful state. In this state cultivating would be the only thing necessary, thus losing the sense of time. The cultivator could ofcourse wake up anytime he wished, but he would usually wake up at an unexpected time. For them it could of have been 1 minute, while in reality it had already been a week.
It was about time, his father would by now return.
Feng Xing felt his father's aura and decided to wake up.
"Father, I have broken through..."
"That's good, but while i was heading over here, I heard that you cheated in a sparring session?" Feng Kong obviously was surprised because he heard his son won only while cheating.
"I didn't cheat, I merely beat him fair and square" Feng Xing still was calm like ever.
"Really?" Feng Kong still had his suspicions about the battle.
"You don't believe me?" Feng Xing said while clearly disappointed.
Feng Kong saw this and quickly said : "Ofcourse not, You're my son I believe in you"
"Let's move to the front entrance now. Young geniuses of our clan are all waiting there." Feng Kong was feeling pretty good now. What father wouldn't be happy when their son would beat someone.
Feng Clan Mansion Front Entrance
"Alright, this is the group of geniuses that are gonna apply" Feng Kong said.
The group of geniuses looked weirdly at Feng Xing.
Feng Xing didn't mind it, and proceeded to stand next to a youth his age. This youth unexpectedly was the brother of Feng Yun. His name was Feng Ming, and was at the 6th Rank of the Tempering Path while being 16 years of age.
"What's a fool like you doing here..." Feng Ming coldly exclaimed.
"I'm also gonna apply" Feng Xing said while smiling.
"You? You think getting in one of the sects is as easy as picking diamonds from the floor?" Feng Ming was even more irritated now.
"No, but i can always try... haha..." Feng Xing sighed. He obviously didn't want trouble right now with someone of the 6th rank while being at the 4th.
"Try? Scram now! This isn't for you to play games!" Feng Ming released his aura.
Boom!
Feng Ming's aura got supressed by Feng Kong's aura...
"Clan leader... eventhough he is your son... it's obvious he won't get in the sect." Feng Ming said with fear in his eyes.

"Shut up! If he gets in or not doesn't concern you at all!" Feng Kong said.
"Ok..." Feng Ming backed away in fear while glaring at Feng Xing.
"Lets move out!" Feng Kong shouted.
1 hour later.
"We finally arrived..."
The clan members were all now staring in shock... they couldn't believe what they saw.
The Moonfire Sect, one of the Three Major Sects of Cloud City, were now recruiting new talents. All the youths participating were now sitting in a plaza filled with other youths from every clan in Cloud City.
"So many people..." The Feng clan members thought. Only Feng Xing and the clan elders remained calm. Feng Xing had already seen plaza's that were even hundred times bigger than this. This wouldn't even faze him at all.
A mysterious man floated in the air, he opened his eyes and was about to say something.
"Welcome! All talents and youths who are at the 4th Rank of the Tempering Path or above may participate, but only if ur under the age of 16!" The man shouted.
"My name is Cang Yang, seventh elder of the Moonfire Sect!" Cang Yang said while slowly floating downwards.
Everyone was now all looking at him in envy. They all wanted to float and fly one day, but they knew that only Martial Path cultivators could float and fly. They now knew that this elder was in the Martial Path realm. Holy Path cultivators were rarely or simply never seen in city's like Cloud City.
"Middle Stage of the Martial Path..." Feng Xing murmured. He obviously felt that Cang Yang was at the 5th Rank of the Martial Path.
Nobody heard him, they were all to focused on the elder.
"All youths who want to join have to pass three tests!"
"The first trial will start when all elders from clans leave the plaza"
Soon only young people were left on the plaza, while all clan elders moved away from it.
"The first test shall now start! Everyone in this plaza will be tested at the same time!"
The youths were rather confused now.
Same time?
Right now a list appeared in the sky out of nowhere.
"This shall list the rankings of everyone! The first test will be testing your true talent!"
The plaza lit up, but nobody panicked. They had by now seen all kinds of weird things happening so they weren't to surprised anymore.
The list suddenly changed and rankings began to appear.
The list was full of names. From 1st rank all the way till 789th.
"Only the people that are listed in the first 100 ranks qualify to proceed to the second test!"
Everybody now had deadsunken faces. Only the people who were listed in the first 100 were happy.
"Wh..what! This first test is absurd! Only 100 may proceed out of 789!?" Youths exclaimed. They were clearly not happy about this.
"This is not fair!" Most of them shouted.
Boom!
Cang Yang snorted. The youths all spit out blood from the impact.
"You dare to say something about how I do my tests!?"
Eventhough the youths were unhappy. They could do nothing about it, and moved from the plaza.
Only the remaining hundred stayed. Surprisingly on the 89th rank you could see Feng Xing's name.
He along with 3 others from the Feng clan stayed. One of them being Feng Ming.
"Trash like you actually has the talent to stay?" Feng Ming and the other 2 youths seemed surprised.
"Hmm, just my luck I guess haha..." Feng Xing said.
One of the two youths was a girl with the other being a boy, both of them were at the 5th rank while being only 15 years old. Feng Xing was the only one at the 4th rank while being 15 years old, but it seems that he had enough talent to stay at the plaza.
"Luck is also something that is beneficial to a cultivator" The girl said while smiling.
Feng Xing seemed to be a bit surprised that the girl wouldn't actually go against him.
"My name is Feng Yue, and this is Feng Mu" Feng Yue calmy said.
"I'm Feng Xing"
"We know. You're the son of our clan leader, and the famous trash of the clan I heard." Feng Yue said.
"Hmm, I'm famous I guess haha..."
"Famous my ass! Trash like you shouldn't even belong here, and you dare to talk to Junior Sister Yue?" Feng Ming coldly said.
Feng Xing remained quiet. He couldn't afford to offend Feng Ming right now. He needed more power for that which he didn't have currently...
"This brat really..." Feng Xing thought.
"Alright now that everyone who wasn't listed in the first 100 have left. We can continue on to the second test!" Cang Yang said while still irritated from before.

The central government was nowhere to be found.
