《Life in another world with an Immunity System》22. A Realization

I am a man who had already experienced death and rebirth. Why am I getting nervous about meeting a woman?
Holding a steel tray in his hands, Andel thought to himself as he walked briskly through the silent corridor. Selina’s room was right next to Lilia’s.
Alright, here goes nothing.
Taking in a deep breath, Andel knocked on the door twice.
After a while, when there was no answer, he prepared to knock on it again.
“Come in.” A calm voice came from the inside.
Gulping a mouthful of saliva, Andel pushed open the door.
It was a spacious room, more than thrice of the one he was staying in at the moment. The walls were painted black, with only the roof being of a different color. On one side, on a queen-sized bed, a woman with short hair was sitting while reading through a document.
“Er, your food. Miss Selina.” Andel said.
“Huh!” Hearing a young voice that she hadn’t heard ever, Selina looked up to see a ten years old boy standing outside with her food in his hands. Her blue eyes scanned him from top to bottom before understanding dawned upon her.
“You must be Andel, right?” Selina smiled and asked politely.
“Yes.” Andel nodded.
“I have heard many good things about you. Lilia and Travis couldn’t praise you enough. It makes me feel relieved.” Selina said while smiling.
That’s way too blunt, you know!
“Thank you!?” Andel wasn’t sure how to respond to that. He could only look around in awkwardness.
“You can put the plate on that table,” Selina said, pointing at a wooden table behind the bed.
“Okay.” Andel walked around the bed on the side and put the tray on the table.
What should I do now? Should I leave?
Thankfully, Andel’s dilemma only lasted for a moment before Selina talked.
“You know, I am currently unable to teach you anything. My last mission didn’t go as expected, resulting in what you can see now.” Selina said with a straight face while showing off her bandaged body below her waist.

“Okay.” Andel nodded in understanding. However, what Selina didn’t see was him giving her lower body a few extra glances. Due to her being wounded, she was only wearing gray-colored gym shorts. Both her legs were bandaged from the upper thighs. The small skin exposed between her shorts and the bandage gave birth to many scandalous thoughts inside Andel’s head.
Damn! That’s sexy as hell! Good thing this body is only ten years old.
“I heard you are learning knife arts from Travis. How far have you learned?” Selina asked as she looked at her dinner. Her face scrunched up suddenly as she saw a particular dish. Looking at Andel, she asked, “Who gave you this dish?”
“It’s Julio,” Andel said while looking at her weirdly.
“Julio!? He is back already? I see. It’s no wonder.” Andel felt anger from her tone. Though it made him confused, he kept his silence. Suddenly, Selina looked at him with her blue eyes boring into Andel’s black ones.
“Do you like carrots?” She asked.
“No!” Andel shook his head.
“I see.” Selina nodded and didn’t say anything else. As she started eating, Andel noticed how she isolated carrots from her stew.
Ah! What a coincidence. She also doesn’t like carrots. Also, isn't there way too many carrots in there?
Andel felt like he found a kindred spirit. A fellow who doesn’t like carrots as well.
“So, you didn’t answer me! How far have you learned his knife arts?” Selina asked again.
“Err, I got the basics down. However, I am bad at aiming at the target, so I am learning to hit it correctly.” Andel said while shifting from one leg to the other. He was also consciously making an effort to not stare at her legs.
“That’s fast.” Selina drank a mouthful of soup and smiled at Andel. “No wonder he was looking at me in jealousy.” She exclaimed.

Well, that’s because I have memories of my past life.
Of course, Andel wouldn’t say that out for her to hear. Everyone called him a genius and prodigy, but only he knew why he could do most of the things that others couldn’t. He wasn’t anything like that. He just had memories of his past life and worked harder than everyone else.
“Anyway, you can continue on your current training schedule. After I heal up completely, you can train with me.” Selina said.
“Yes.” Andel nodded.
“Good. You can go to your room. The getting late, you should sleep.”
“Okay. Thank you, Miss. Selina. Also, good night.” Andel gave her a classic Seras Family salute and left her room.
He wasn’t aware of this, but until he was out of the room, Selina was looking at his back discreetly. Her blue eyes looked calculative as a storm of thoughts brewed inside her head. Only she knew what she was thinking at the moment.
“Only ten years old without access to ki or magic but strong enough to kill tuskers, eh!? Interesting.” She mumbled under her breath while taking in a mouthful of beef stew.
Crunch!!
“Julio, you motherfucker!! I will kill you later.” Cursing angrily at Julio, Selina spat a piece of half-chewed carrot on to the floor.
…
Is it just my imagination or she looked a bit weird!? But I will be damned, she is too sexy!!
Andel felt her gaze on him throughout his conversation with her. While it didn’t feel malicious, something about it just made him feel unsettled.
Don’t tell me she likes young boys! Nah! That can’t be.
Andel shook his head and laughed at his joke.
…
[Due to a large scale demon beast attack on the town, there is an estimate of thousands of dollars of property loss. At the same time, many lives were lost during the monster stampede. It's still unknown how many people are dead and wounded.]
[Unto the next news, due to the incident in Warren, Exon’s Armory’s stock prices dropped to an unprecedented level. Sullivans Group has bought the controlling stakes in the Exon’s, acquiring 60% of total stocks. Some people speculate that it was the Sullivans who orchestered the incident in Warren, but there is no concrete proof.]
Sullivans Group!? Are they really the ones who did this?
Andel frowned as he thought of the matter.
He knew how the business world works, but he couldn’t bring himself to believe that everything happened just so that they can take over a company.
No! That isn’t right.
Andel rubbed his chin as he recalled the day’s events.
The robbers were only standing outside the door, letting people see them while they do the deed. It was due to him that the magician robber opened that portal and released the tuskers in the middle of the busy street.
So I am the culprit behind so many deaths?
The realization brought a heavy feeling to Andel. He felt light-headed for a moment. Until now, he hadn’t thought of the matter from this perspective and thus, missed on this little detail.
But if I hadn’t jumped in, that person would have humiliated Tia. So what I did wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Was he really going to strip her? Maybe, he was just playing around, and it was I who jumped to a conclusion.
Throughout the night, Andel didn’t get a wink of sleep as the realization of his blunder kept him awake while eating him away from the inside.

Edge Cases (Book 1 Complete!)
Rare classes and powerful skills are helpful. Too bad the system doesn't seem built to handle them. What even are all these errors? Our team of outcasts and adventurers will have to rely on their trust - and the bane of all stories, healthy communication - just to survive, let alone understand what the system is doing. Because they're quickly realizing that it's doing something; to people, to monsters, and maybe even to the gods themselves. And their goal isn't just to survive; it's to make things better. It's a good thing they're not doing it alone. --- Edge Cases is an attempt to take the LitRPG genre and the overpowered MCs trope and write a story where numbers aren't everything. Sometimes it takes trust, support, and just a touch of being very, very clever. Expect a mix of action, slice-of-life, friendship, and ominous worldbuilding. Updates M-W-F at 6pm EST. Cover art by Alovck of Artstation, and typesetting by jessessey right here on RoyalRoad.

Harry Potter and the Seer's Ambition

Little did he know that Voldemort wasn’t the biggest threat he would have to face. Receiving power from unexpected sources and armed with Information he didn’t expect to have, Harry sets out on a mission to bring the dark lord and his followers down and uncover one of the world’s least known secrets. ============ This novel has been posted on Webnovel, Scribblehub, Fanfiction & RoyalRoad. This story was supposed to be a rewrite of my earlier book, Harry Potter and the Dark Phoenix but the plot ended up so different that I figured I’d just make a new book out of it. I might, at some point in the future, rewrite the earlier book with the earlier plot but that will have to wait for this one to finish. This is an AU so please keep that in mind. Constructive criticism is welcome, needless bashing is not.

The Tears of Kas̆dael
It was just supposed to be a game. A really, really great game, yes - but a game. Instead, Jasper got his heart ripped out by a brooding goddess and awoke to find himself in another world. No weapons, no skills. Naked. Trapped in a world full of ancient horrors, where gods and monsters still roam the earth, Jasper is forced to adapt quickly or die - and he's not ready to die. Good thing he's a mage. This is a high-fantasy novel with light LitRPG elements. It's not super-crunchy, but the system is an important part of the story. There is some light cursing and gore, but this is not a Grimdark novel. There will also be no harem. The current schedule is chapters on M-W-F of around 2000-2500 words, as well as occasional bonus chapters that provide background or insights into side characters. This is my first real attempt at writing a full novel, but the story is based on a world that I've been creating and re-creating since I was a child. I have an extensive "history" and religion, and even a semi-cohesive language system worked out, which will hopefully slowly shine through as the story progresses. I want to avoid having too many info-dumps, so I may from time to time post a bonus lore chapter that will explain some of the background for any who are interested.
