One down. One to go.

Thought Andel as he stalked the other tusker trying to get into the small gap between two cars. From the original fifteen that followed after him, he had already finished off two. The third one was ready to be killed.

Let me recharge my stamina first.

While keeping an eye out for the tusker, Andel sat down near the corpse of the one he killed. While waiting, he observed the corpse closer. Although it wasn’t his first time seeing a demon beast, it would be his first time killing one. He felt a weird sense of accomplishment after killing them.

Tusker’s red horn is one of the ingredients to make a Type 07 knife. One of those knives costs 4,999 dollars and widely used by the military.

Andel thought while caressing the single red horn at the tip of its head. It had a smooth surface and was almost transparent. This horn was the only means for this beast to attack with its ki. The tuskers use this horn to charge at their target. A shining horn when the beast charges at a target would indicate its usage of ki.

Charge, if I remember it correctly.

Andel tried to recall all the information he once read in a book. The Talent of tuskers, named Charge, when used in tandem with their horns, gives them a 50% chance to ignore all defenses of their target. Even after they rebuilt into a knife and used by humans, the armor penetration ability didn’t vanish.

Part of the reason why a Type 07 knife was so expensive was the retained penetration effect.

The short wait lasted until he regained two more stamina points. With the shadow of the cars as cover, Andel stalked the tusker, who was trying its hardest to enter the narrow space between two cars.

Frenzy!

Activating the ability, he leaped like a cat at the monster and delivered a punch to its eye. The small gap may not be enough for something of its size to enter, but for a kid around ten years, it wasn’t that big of a deal.

Like the ones before him, Andel one-shotted this tusker as well.

You have killed a Tusker

+150 EXP

After killing it, Andel carefully dragged the corpse to hide it. He had the confidence to kill the remaining twelve tuskers one by one, not all at once. He wasn’t keen on seeking trouble for himself.

“Exchange all the EXP for skill points,” Andel mumbled to himself.

Affirmative!

You have exchanged 300 EXPs for 3 skill points.

“Upgrade the Frenzy,”

Affirmative! Frenzy Lv 2=>Frenzy Lv 3 Frenzy Lv 3

After activation of the ability, for the next 3 seconds, Reflex gets a 300% boost. Strength and Defense increase by 90%.

Ability cost: 2 stamina/use

Cooldown: 3 Seconds.

Note: Requires 7 Skill points(calculated as 2*previous level’s point req+1) to upgrade the ability to level 4.

Nice! The skill duration increased to three seconds.

Indeed it was a welcomed change. Not much of a surprise, though. 300% boost was equivalent to 3 times of the attribute. With 60 points in Reflex, he can now run as fast as a level 5 Warrior with a speed-based Talent.

Previously, he was only comparing himself to a Warrior’s base attributes. However, with the Frenzy leveling up, he can even compare to a Warrior using his/her Talent. In other words, he had achieved more in just one night here than what he was able to in five years at Seras Mansion.

Well, he had still a long way to go before he could really take on a trained Warrior with a Talent and equipped in protective gear. Andel had long since surpassed 90% of children of his own age group in Warren, perhaps even in the entirety of Uvriya Kingdom. As for the remaining 10%, those were the rare talented fellows who had already reached level 5 and awakened a Talent.

If Andel could defeat them or not was a topic worth debating. It was especially true after his Frenzy reached level 3.

Whether he was stronger or weaker than others of his age group, Andel never cared about it that much. He was just too mature mentally to compare himself with children.

Okay, after this, I will try to upgrade some of my Immunities. My next goal is to make all my current immunities reach level 10.

With his goal decided, Andel started to work on it. Pulling out the system, he made a rough calculation to find the number of points he required. And promptly felt discouraged upon finding the answer. A solid 55 points were needed for all his standing immunities to reach the average he decided on.

55 points!? That means 5500 EXPs. How many tuskers do I need to kill?

He didn’t dare to find the answer. It would be a daunting task for the current him to even collect one-third of that much experience points. After a brief thought, Andel gave up on his previous target.

Okay, let’s forget about all immunities and concentrate on the ones I need in daily life.

By the process of elimination, Andel decreased the required points from 55 to 25.

Well, even 25 looks like a ballpark to me. Can I even kill that many Tuskers? With the number of them gathered here, I can, at most, get what? 15 points!?

Andel gave up on his wishful thinking and decided to take one step at a time. The time he took to stalk for an opportune moment already refilled a couple of his stamina points. His next target had already strayed quite far away from the rest, giving Andel an excellent chance.

Activating Frenzy, he streaked at the tusker that was moving aimlessly and punched its eye hard enough for his hand to went inside its squishy brain material.

However, he had seriously underestimated a demon beast’s vitality.

Suddenly, the tusker’s red horn lighted up as it pushed itself towards Andel horn-first. Thankfully, due to his reflex being so high, he managed to sidestep what might have been a fatal blow to his chest.

Fuck! That was close!

He could still feel his heath beating like a drum in his chest as well as cold sweat oozing from his back. Looking at the corpse, Andel sighed with some lingerign fear.

At least it's dead now. That's a good thing.

But clearly, he celebrated too early.

The retaliation of the beast didn’t come silently. Its last squeal before dying alerted the rest.

What the hell!?

It was out of his expectations. But not everything went as one wishes them to be. Before the rest of the tuskers could gather for the party, Andel had already hightailed out of there. He didn’t even linger around the area, opting to abandon the underground garage to somewhere else.

Andel grabbed one of many steel beams supporting the parkin lot’s roof and hastily climbed to the top before balancing himself carefully between two poles supporting the plastic(?) roof.

Weird! Three seconds should have been over by now. How can I still retain the effect of Frenzy?

Andel felt he was still under the effect of Frenzy because the stats displayed by his system wasn’t his original but boosted stats. Moreover, he could clearly feel the heightened senses due to 3 times Reflex.

Hmm! why are they running so slowly? From what I have seen, they couldn’t consciously control themselves. Running slowly should be impossible to them.

Boom!!

Just then, a loud explosion happened in the distance, startling not only Andel but also remaining Tuskers. Followed by the explosion, Andel saw a wall of red fire rising all the way to the sky. He could feel the hotness of the flame all the way from his spot at the roof of the parking lot.

Just what kind of fire is that?
