《Life in another world with an Immunity System》2. A Request

Andel quietly followed behind the handsome middle-aged man in a tuxedo, who was the personal butler of his grandfather, and the current leader of Seras family. He was a man of few words and very serious about his job and the image. Even when he was walking, Andel didn’t see his back bending. Unable to bear the silence, Andel scooted a little bit closer to him and whispered, “Uncle Kevin, had grandpa accepted my request?”
Andel felt no shame calling a man around late thirties uncle. Though he had the memories of his previous life and had a mental age of 40, he was physically still 10. Thus he has to act like his age, right?
There was a brief silence before Kevin’s steady and calm voice from front, “Old sir has indeed agreed with your proposal.”
Andel narrowed his eyes and looked at the back of the butler. His instincts were telling him there was a ‘but’ in that statement. And he wasn’t disappointed when Kevin followed up with his words.
“It's just that, the old sir wanted to ask you some questions before he accepts your request.”
Raising one of his thin eyebrows, Andel looked at Kevin’s back and thought in his head, ‘Questions, eh! I guess it’s normal for that old man to ask some questions when I raised that request.’
“Okay.” With a curt reply, Andel followed him to the main building where his grandfather’s private quarters were. Currently, Andel was trying to give the impression of a genius and serious kid to his family members. Since he had to act the part, he didn’t engage in any useless charter. From the day he found the dangers lurking in this new world, he was trying to build his character that was best suited for survival. The memories of his past life also helped him a lot in cultivating the personality he desired.
“Young Andel, are you here to see your grandfather?” While passing through a lush garden filled with colorful flowers and natural fragrance, which also happens to be the private garden of his grandmother, Andel heard a woman’s calling his name. Whipping his head to the sound’s direction, he found an elderly lady around late fifties tending to a small flower plant. She was wearing a white garden hat that did nothing to hide her long blond hair decorated in a braid. Although there were aging lines on her face, she still had a sense of vitality and freshness to her.

In other words, she looked tens of years younger than her actual age.
“Grandma! How are you? I heard you were feeling a little under the weather these days, is everything alright now?” Flashing his white teeth, Andel smiled endearingly at the elderly woman. He wasn’t acting actually. In fact, the impression and emotion he was showing to his family members wasn’t an act at all. He was being completely genuine with them.
“Haha, what a thoughtful kid.” The old lady smiled heartily before shaking her head, “I am alright. I am taking my medicines, so I will probably be alright in a few days.” After that, she signaled Kevin to go on, and also signaled Andel to follow him and not to waste time with her. Nodding to her, Andel followed Kevin and went into the villa.
“What a pitiful child!” The old lady sighed while looking at Andel’s back. Her eyes glazed as tears threatened to come out. She knew the purpose of this visit. Her husband had been discussing this matter with others for a few days. What she couldn’t understand was why a little kid would request something like that.
Shaking her head, she stopped thinking about it and continued what she was doing. Though it was obvious her heart wasn’t in it at all.
…
You have obtained Fragrance Immunity Lv 1
‘Finally!’ Andel exclaimed happily. After countless sniffing and smelling, it finally appeared today. He hurriedly opened the description of the newly obtained immunity to see if it was what he wanted in the first place.
Fragrance Immunity Lv 1
The host will be 10% immune to all kinds of aromas/odors.
It can be turned on/off according to the host's wishes.
+1 Immunity point required to upgrade to the next level.
‘Yes, this is what I was looking for.’ Andel felt relived upon finding the ability lived up to his expectations. Ever since he read about the smell related abilities possessed by the people of this world, he had been trying his hardest to gain this immunity. He had even discovered seven types of Demonic Beasts that could use this ability to hunt their prey, not to mention those countless plants and mushrooms.
“Master Andel, the old sir is waiting for you inside his study. You have to go on your own from here.” Kevin stood respectfully at the side of the stairs leading to the second floor. After giving him a nod, Andel climbed the flight of stairs and arrived on the second floor. After that, he walked to an inconspicuous looking room, which also happened to be his grandfather’s private study.

*Knock! Knock!*
He gently knocked on the wooden door and stood quietly.
“Come in.” Hearing an aging voice, Andel took in a long breath and opened the door with his two hands. The room was very simple, a small desk and chair in front of it, a potted plant to the corner of the desk and near the only window in the room, and a wooden rack filled with books of various origins. The room was giving off a scholarly vibe, which was in line with his grandfather's hobby.
Andel looked at the man, who, like the woman at the garden outside, looked dozens of years younger than his actual age. His short hair hadn’t even grayed yet, though aging scars were visible on his face. His blue eyes were incomparably bright and looked like it could see through everything. Andel gulped a mouthful of saliva unconsciously.
According to his dear father, his grandfather was a Fifth Heaven Magus. According to what he read from books, a magus of that rank could teleport, summon meteors from skies and even change weather according to their wills. There was a poem composed by a famous poet of ancient times which goes as follows
“Lay down the 9 Circles to ascend the 9 Heavens. Only then can you become the Apostle and peer into the Zenith!”
This short poem aptly described all the stages of a magician. The first nine stages were called Circles, where the magicians learn to craft magic circles with their willpower. Then the nine-stages after that were described as Heavens, where they learn to further deepen their understanding of worldly rules and laws. Since there were no descriptions of Apostle and Zenith, Andel didn’t know what their power levels were.
Anyway, his grandfather had reached 5th Heaven, and excels in fire type spells. He was one of the strongest magicians in the Uvriya. He had an official epithet called The Flame Sage, crowned by the king of Uvriya himself.
There were seven continents that were big enough to be called supercontinents that existed in this new world. Each continent had countless kingdoms and dynasties. Uvriya was one of many subsidiary kingdoms of the Slovac Dynasty. Although this world had 24 hours in a day, it takes more than 400 days to complete a year.
“You are here, young Andel.” The elder looked at Andel with mixed emotions. He had never seen a child so outstanding and yet so unfortunate. Given this child’s genius-level intellect, if it wasn’t for his lack of aptitude, he might have reached the Apostle stage, the old man honestly thought so. In the end, he could only lament and complain a bit about unfairness to the god.
“Hello, and good morning, grandfather. How is your health?” Andel asked while trying and failing to show a smile. It was in line with the character he was cultivating for himself. He stood still without showing any other body movement.
“What a considerate child,” The old man smiled and beckoned him to come closer with his hands. As Andel got closer, his grandfather suddenly pulled him into a strong bear hug. He trembled a little as it was just too unexpected, but soon accepted it. While he was still accepting the hug, his grandfather started to talk.
“I have only three sons and seven grandchildren.” The old man started, “Among them all, only you who have such level-headedness and astute. If not for your disability, I might even have groomed you to be the next head of the family. I believe you might be able to even surpass this old man by leaps and bounds.”
“It's alright, grandpa.” Andel patted his back and tried to sound awkward.
After a brief pause, his grandfather released him from the hug and then pulled out a wooden badge with gold frames before handing it to him.
“You can use that badge to join the Assassination Corps of our family.” The old man paused for a brief moment, even his eyes misted a little, “from tomorrow, Seras family will forever erase the existence of Andel Seras from their official records. Now go and spend your day with your parents, this will be your last for a while.”
“Yes, grandfather!”

... And My Skillet
A long time ago, a child was born under the great blue sky. Many a Dwarf grumbled at the auspicious event, tugging furtively at their beards at this ill omen. A year later as the expedition had begun digging into the virgin hills of their new home, the grumbling of the doughty mountain people rose to a disbelieving furor when the yearling passed over the ritual offerings that would determine his lot in life. Instead, the as of yet unnamed child crawled over to a skillet fresh out of the fire and begun picking at the rock bread, unconcerned with the heat. Shouts turned into laughter, frowns lifted into craggy smiles. Upon placing a handful of the bread into his mouth, the infant’s face grew so grim and stony not even the eldest of the present Dwarves could match him. There was a durable ore within this babe, of that the Lore Keeper was sure. Yumly Ironhand was thus named, the beginning of his great tale immortalized on the rune walls of his clan’s history. “It’s pronounced Yoom Lee and no, rock bread isn’t a misnomer.”

8 222Medieval Terror
[Trickle! Trickle!] Blood… Pure unfiltered blood. Thick wetness of inhumane variety was drowning the contours of my defiled countenance with crimson slick. My warrior’s mien was brutally decorated with the vile viscera and entrails of the dead. Scattered all around me was a large pile of corpses floating in the bloodthirsty puddle of the afterlife. Accompanying my rest within this detestable domain was a rapacious array of lord Beelzebub’s kin. A swarm of black motile embodiment capable of aerial drifts made my bloody appearance barely visible. [Buzz! Buzz!] I was dead yet living, I could travel between the broken realms of existence and meddle with the vengeful souls. Such was possible by virtue of my life that had succumbed to the Lure of Enigma. The bizarre events that unfolded which brought me to this destitute phase of utter dysphoria was a mixture of tales that will leave a distasteful flavour of doleful buds on your tongue. If you wish to know more about my apocalyptic journey then feel free to turn the pages of my undying path. However, I must warn you, inquisitive readers. My legendary tale might cause your weak constitution to become cripple, hence read at your own peril. 8 209DarkBoi69's mediocre, rushed and badly-written aventure
Follow DarkBoi69's edgy adventure as I move him through a shitty plot where he meets terribly-written characters like angry evil stupid villains and naive cute useless busty women. This story is not really an actual serious story but simply a writing exercise for me to focus on overall writing speed, forcefully insert some writing in my everyday life to increase productivity and most importantly help with turning ideas, thoughts or feelings into writing directly without feeling blocked, hopefully trying to achieve something as close as possible to writing unconsciously what i’m thinking about. I'll probably try to do something like writing as much in 30 mins as I can, nearly every-day. So far I've only done this once and it already seems like a pretty good thing to do. I don’t have anything planned and that’s probably going to be a constant for every one of these exercises, so it’ll end up being not very good (although maybe better than it has any right to be? ) and nonsensical.
