Golem
Description: A creature composed of the element chosen by it’s master. Willed to life by the mana it has bonded with. It excels in relation to defense and strength but has weak ability in both agility and intelligence. A living moving fortress of both wonder and grandeur, it does not fail to disappoint.
Succubus
Description: Succubus, creatures that thrive on the sexual pleasures of others, more specifically, the emotions they feel. Implying that they generally feed on the emotions of others be it either anger, sorrow, joy and pleasure, it is all but subjected to the same fate, devoured by their greed. They excel in intelligence and wisdom, their choice of magic generally specializing in illusion, be it to work on themselves or other external sources if need be.
Hellhound
Description: A type of demon that takes the form of a wolf, it grows in the very depths of hell, accumulating the lifeforce from it’s kills to increase in strength and longevity. It excels in strength and agility.
Fairy
Description: Fairies, things said to have been of legends, thrive and survive in the safe confined space of their forests, away from all of mankind and their corrupt ways. They seek to mend bonds broken in hopes of salvation as they are but a small few left. They excel in intelligence and wisdom, their magic ranging from the natural 4 elements, wind, fire, water, and air, but rare elements such as lightning and ice are not far and too between.
Nicholas perused through the text, interpreting every word before coming to the end of the notifications. A line crossed his face, the helmet splitting in two near the bottom as it arched upwards, displaying what some would call a sneer brimming with killing intent. Nicholas, however, felt something he hardly ever had control over, the satisfying feeling of content. He inhaled the lifeforce and mana within his radius. His thoughts, repeating the same words over, and over again.
‘Succubus, creatures that thrive on emotions… Excel in illusion magic…. Works on external sources’, those 3 main statements proclaimed by the system crossed his mind. What was there not to gain from this? He could potentially liberate himself from the body he held. Well, disguise it more thoroughly would be a better way to phrase things.

Looking into his hands, fists slowly clenching, as he felt the sweet never ceasing torment from the battlefield as it began to cloud his mind. Reminding him of the times he had so mindlessly left his comrades on the field in favor of a more optimal ‘advantage point’ that would further aid their side on battle, his true thoughts, emotions, buried beneath the fortified wall that had settled within his very being.
The limiter, a device created to support and provide soldiers with a more logical and calculative mindset, increasing his processing speed, the amount of tactics and combat techniques available to him, and much, much more. But at what cost? His humanity, emotions, friends, all gone, left with nothing to fight for, to fight with. He reminisced over his mistakes, his fists condensing in correlation. He relaxed, there was no time to be fussing over past mistakes, what’s done is done, and there is no changing that.
He looked at the 4 choices before subconsciously selecting Succubus.
‘If i’m ever going to change, it would have to be now, the earlier the better. Individual strength isn’t the only thing that matters, the one reason I lived for so long in Reach was because of my comrades, my friends. How could I forget something so simple?’, he reflected as he evoked the memories deep within his mind as he remembered the many times they had his back and he had theirs.
Together, they stood strong, but alone, they were weaker and more frail, struggling between life and death, as he did at his last moments on Reach. Obscured by the carnage and corpses afflicting the battlefield, he lay there, motionless. His body concealed from sight as he lay along the rugged and rocky surface of the front lines. His deathly pale eyes drained of all light, peering through a cracked part of the visor, as he stared off into the dark skies as night encroached upon the planets surface.
He shook his head free from the irrelevant thoughts that plagued him, his mind focusing on the task at hand as he fixated his gaze on the one before him. A small young woman, black obsidian wings behind her back, as white ivory horns protruded from both sides of her skull from beneath the dark ebony that made up her hair. She emerged from a dark cylindric portal of sorts, covered in garments that aimed to display her many assets to speak of.

Her eyes a crimson red as they narrowed down, scrutinizing the figure ahead of her that was but a few feet taller. Her frame was compact and small, curves elegant and alluring that aimed to captivate those of the opposite sex. Her face consisted of a nice jawline paired with her cute petite nose, supported by the soft, and pink plump lips that adorned her.
She was what some would could call beautiful, appealing, stunning, gorgeous, cute. Some going as far as to proposing that she was perhaps the incarnation of what some would think was the ‘God of Beauty’ or at least her apostle. But Nicholas didn’t mind, nor did he even care. He just thought that she looked pretty reliable in terms of magic in contrast to her small and fragile physique. He began to speak in the coarse and battle toned voice which he retained.
*Succubus*
“I'm Nicholas, your master, and you are?” his gaze as piercing as it was, focused ever so slightly more in time for the Succubus’ response. The succubus stared incredulously at her self proposed, master, his manner of speaking more straightforward than what she would have thought to be, considering his... appearance.
She looked over his blood soaked body, pieces of gore and viscera beleaguering his figure. The cloak of his afflicted with scratches and tears, adding to the not so great first impression that Nicholas wished for. To top it off, he bore a mouth, or what she had thought to be a mouth. Arching in what she deemed to be a violent and intimidating grin, causing the young woman to hesitate in surprise, subjected to an uneasy feeling that unconsciously emitted from the figure.
She carefully fixed her posture in reply, her eyes fixing themselves to the demons that peered from behind the unworldly armour he was concealed in. She couldn’t read into what he wanted or needed from her. Perplexed and bewildered by both the words he aimed to express and the body language he displayed, she began to come to terms with this new meeting with the individual. She vigorously cleared her mind, her facial expression altering into one of feigned happiness, fabricated from the years she was controlled and summoned from master to master.
She blinked, her mind becoming more clear and calmer as she began to introduce herself to the foreign individual. A similar imitation of the meetings before her taking place as she ardently and hurriedly introduced herself, time, seeming to play back as she spoke on.
The times she was betrayed, ignored, deceived, deluding her from the thoughts of benevolence once shown to her a long time ago. All but forgotten from the years of painstakingly, arduous, and excruciating hurtful times, both emotional and physical, having taken place. Experiences that had took place long ago, but have dominated and preoccupied her memories ever since.
She spoke on, a melodic and harmonious voice obscuring the thoughts she held. She intended to manipulate this one to his will as she did to the ones before him. Spreading heartrending tales of pain and suffering, breaking down the walls they so proudly placed around themselves and their huge egos the size of kingdoms. The man before her was but another of these gluttonous, corrupt, and nefarious monsters deemed to be superior. A being of depraved, perverse, and savage ways. She would end him.
But before she could proceed to the end of her little charade, she was intervened by the discordant and hoarse sound of a sole word that leaked from the individuals mouth.
“Stop.”

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
